Hands dow one of the best Mexican restaurants in York County by far! Wipes the floor with Chipotle and Imd even argue that they stand very close burrito wise to Roburritos, if not better. The quality of the ingredients used for everything my wife and I ate were superb and everything was freshly made. It's always a bonus being able to support a small, family owned business, which makes the desire to patronize this establishment even greater. Sadly the place is going downhill. Portions keep getting smaller and prices are going up. They never customize your order when asked. Sometimes you end up with shrimp if you ordered pork. If you ask for guacamole, you'll pay for it but not receive it. This has happened to us the last three visits. You shouldn't have to check your order every time to make sure you got the right things...thats the job of the restaurant. read more

I was freshly off my flight from Miami when my mamacita & fellow Yelp Elite Trina L insisted I try her new favorite restaurant, Rocoto. I put up some resistance since I had just arrived from the hot spot of Latin American delicacies, but who can say no to their mama? Well, I am so glad that I'm a good kid & listened to my mama because Rocoto was awesome!!! The empanadas are delicious. Slightly sweet dough stuffed full of yummy fillings and fantastic dipping sauces. The criollo sauce (Peruvian pico de gallo) was my fav-I put it on everything. The steak tacos and special of the day, Peruvian burger (will probably be added to the regular menu soon) were very good but the star of the show was the chicken fajitas. I have never had so much fresh, fantastic flavor packed into a dish that only cost $6.99! The folks who own Rocoto took the time to explain their cooking processes and techniques, which gave me an even greater appreciation for their food. read more

What a find! If you're new to Peruvian food, this is a great place to taste a variety of typical Peruvian dishes. My husband and I had the chicken Seco which was tender and delicious. Came here with the kids, and they could not have been more happy with the decision to come here. Best empanadas that I've ever had, and my burrito was excellent. Two of the kids ordered chicken sandwiches, and they devoured them. My youngest ordered chicken and fries, and we were generously given extra chicken and fries for the table, and they ate everything. I've been back to this wonderful restaurant on Cape Horn Road (Rt 24 S) outside Red Lion many times. My favorite is the Ceviche Classico - raw fresh fish that is marinated in lime juice until its "cooked" served with onions, lettuce and yams. Campanions love the chicken sandwiches and shrimp tacos. Rocoto is so popular that they have added a large Banquet Room and now offer chicken specials - 1/4 chicken, 1/2 chicken and whole chicken with fries and salad, which seems very popular as many folks are ordering that. This place is worth the stop. In an area that has a food scene still in its infancy, this place stands out with good reason. The food is tasty and comes out quickly. I went with two other people who tend to be picky and even though we all ordered for our particular tastes the food was so good we ended up sharing some of our meals with each other. The only drawback to this place is that seating is limited so if you go at a busy time of day you may be better off getting it to go and eating in your car and trust me you don't want to wait until you get some place to eat because you'll probably regret not buying more than what you did. read more

This is a bright, clean and inviting restaurant in a little plaza. Service was very friendly and prompt. We ordered fajitas and a more traditional Peruvian chicken dish as entrees. Both were quite savory with nice cuts of chicken. The fajitas had much more flavor than a typical Mexican fast food restaurant. The homemade empanadas had a surprisingly sweet dough with yummy filling. We plan to go back with friends! read more

Started working at a local place and kept seeing a lot of our customers go over there to get food not to mention some of my co workers had also said "The burritos over there are fat." If there is one thing I like it's a fat burrito. So I suggested to my parents one night "hey let's give this place a shot since nobody has gone." Let me be one of the many to say this place has become my new favorite burrito spot beating out other local competitors. The ingredients I can see being delivered and the owner is always on the floor talking with customers asking how their food is. However once it gets busy he is right behind the counter helping out in the kitchen or doing the cash register/ taking orders. If for whatever reason you end up in York please make this a stop. Tried it yesterday with friends and family and all of us were very pleased with portion, flavor, and service. Went back earlier today for baked empanadas, which tasted like they came out fresh from the San Antonio bakery in Lima (one of the fanciest bakeries in Lima Peru). Going back tonight to try a few more dishes. My compliments again to the chef(s) and would love if you could have monthly specials featuring specialty dishes like tallarines verdes, ají de gallina, escabeche de pollo, chupe de camarones, etc. My suggestion to the readers: Give yourself a treat and go try their great variety of dishes. Good food and good prices (except for the empanadas, $3.50 for one?) they're pretty quick and you can see them making the food fresh. earlier dinner is recommended, they seem to run out of things quickly (they were out of the empanadas, i got the last fried ice cream and last bit of cilantro rice). my fish was absolutely delicious and my girlfriend enjoyed her quesadilla. there was supposed to be a fried egg on each peruvian dish but for some reason, mine only came with a hard boiled egg. other than those slight hiccups, i'd come here again. it was an overall nice experience trying peruvian-style fare for my first time. read more

The chicken empanadas are literally the best thing I have ever tasted, their salsa/pico de gallo has the most amazing flavor!! They weren't empanadas like you typically see, different breading. I was not however overly impressed with my Lomo saltado dinner.. when I think of this - I think of the way El Serano prepares it and it was very different, especially for the price. So happy to see some Mexican food in Red Lion! However, my husband and I went and he got chicken tacos and I got pork tacos. I asked the young man behind the counter if they had sauce on them or if they were plain with some type of barbecue seasoning. He responded they were plain but they were Sauced, and I mean sauced! So here are some tips for you, the owners. Chicken needs to be grilled and flavorful. Ours was cooked well but it was very Bland. There was much confusion from the staff. They should know that product in and out as well as how to prepare it. Understand you guys are new and just getting your groove but that would help with your service a lot!
