I had the Bistec a la Pobre and the chicken was shoe-leather tough and rubbery. The egg was also rubbery. Service was fast so I suspect both were precooked then overdone in the reheating. Staff was polite and service (counter, walk-up, cafeteria style) was acceptable. I may give the Mexican selections a try since they might be better suited to fast service style of the restaurant. It can be really difficult for a foodie like myself living in Red Lion. There aren't too many great places to eat around here, I used to have to drive to York for a decent meal but not anymore! I'm so glad I found this place. You can try an authentic Peruvian dish or go for traditional Mexican. Whatever you choose you can be sure it will be made consistently with fresh, simple ingredients and done right. The owner is very friendly, staff is very attentive and everyone is always working hard. My "usual" order which I recommend is as follows, Cheese Empanada, pork bbq tacos, French fries and fried ice cream for dessert. Make sure you ask to try some of their great sauces too. You may want to call ahead just to make sure they're open. You can take out or eat in. The place is small but they're expanding. Highly recommended. read more

Came the whole way from York and they had an advertisement on Facebook about a special they were running and when we got there they were sold out. If your going to run a special make sure that your prepared to have enough and when you run out post it. It was only 1:30, needless to say we won't be making a trip back. We are new to the area and tried this place for our Valentine's Day date night take out. Everything was AMAZING. So delicious and authentic, tastes like it's cooked all day. No joke Peruvian food. Picked Rocoto based on the good reviews and it did not disappoint. We did takeout and will definitely be going back when we're in the Red Lion area. Very affordable, good quality food. The Chicken Roasted Empanadas are great. We also enjoyed the chicken fajitas and the Peruvian Seco entree. This place is in a strip mall so doesn't looK like much from the outside. However the food is amazing. The seco de pollo is like stepping back to my time in South America. It was delicious. The owners are super nice and the place is clean. You can watch your food being prepared. I wish I lived closer because I'd be there at least weekly. read more

First time trying Rocoto tonight and was pleasantly surprised. The food was very reasonably priced (quesadillas, burritos, fajitas all under $10) and Peruvian dishes not much more. Salsa and guacamole were both very fresh and flavorful. Our food was ready in what felt like 5-7 minutes. The service was very friendly and felt like a family owned place. Even the "fried" ice cream was delicious. We will certainly be back again soon. There aren't many restaurants in red Lion and especially not of this caliber. A little hidden gem! read more
