I wasted money with a pest control company who did NOT get rid of the the rat problem in my garage. Even though I could see droppings and actually saw a live rat in my garage, they found nothing, laid down a few traps, and say "oh, you probably had one but he is long gone". Then I did some cleaning, easily found a big nesting area they should have caught, and saw another live rat. I called Rodents Stop to wage war. It was very expensive, but two technicians spent the entire day searching for nests, cleaning, spraying, and sealing up every tiny crack and crevice in my house and garage. had an infestation a couple of years ago. I highly recommend a company called Rodent Stop. They were very expensive but since they tore my house apart I haven't seen a single mouse or rat since. They had to tear all the insulation out of my crawlspace and sanitize. They emptied a closet full of feces and urine. Bagged all my coats up and disposed of them. They went under my house and plugged all the tiny holes They could find. Did the same in the crawlspace/attic. Then they inspected my roof and found a hole on my front Porch overhang the rats were most likely coming in from. Had to hire roofer the fix the hole. They went through my kitchen and pulled all the drawers out of the cabinets oulooking for more holes to patch. Pulled my dishwasher out and found more holes the rats were coming in from. They patched everything. Then they went through the other rooms in the house and did more patching. They were very throuand very professional. They were expensive, Cost me $6,000. Most of it was for the attic cleanup and reinsulation. They did give my house a lifetime guarantee it would remain rat free. If not, they would treat again. I doubt they will ever need to. They are very expensive, $3000. It would've been worth it if they actually caught the rat. It was one really big, smart rat. Rodent Stop sealed all the holes and cleaned up all the droppings. We had them use only sticky traps downstairs and kill traps in the attic because we have a small dog. We would not have guessed we still had a rat problem except that we have infrared cameras all over the house. After weeks of the traps being ineffective we had to call them out again because for one rat there was a lot of droppings. After months of being tortured by watching the rat on video on our furniture and dining table my husband finally cornered it and killed it himself. We caught it all on video. These guys rock & this review is far overdue. My neighborhood has lots of old oak trees & ivy. It is a haven for tree rats. If customer service is important to you, do not use them. We got quotes from a couple different companies, they were all comparable, so we went with Rodents Stop because of their very positive Yelp reviews. BIG MISTAKE. They came out and had an onsite manager type person, and around 4-5 workers. Everyone on the day of the job was pleasant. However they did a below average job. Firstly, I was very active and attentive on the day of the job; to be available should they need help moving something or questions about outlets and such. They still managed to break my outdoor string lights in my backyard- which I would've been happy to take down, if I had known that they were going to be moving ladders through that area of my backyard-- I have 2 dogs that roam my backyard freely, and so this is a major problem for me. They didn't notify me of the damage NOR did they clean it up themselves. They just ignored it. Secondly, there are screws and debris from the work ALL OVER MY PROPERTY. Again, an issue because of my dogs. Not only that, but they didn't thoroughly clean the feces from my yard, AT ALL. It states on their website that the rodent feces attracts them to the property, so why wouldn't they clean that up in an effort to keep pests away? Thirdly, they left open drill holes, that they admitted mice could climb through, open on my floor. I assume the cable guy drilled holes from my floor to the basement to get wires through, but they were not closed up. Despite all of this, I didn't leave a bad review, because I told myself that these things tend to happen during these types of jobs. When the exterminators were packing up, I asked them when they were going to come back to check on the traps, and they responded that they would be back within the week. A week went by, a month went by. No one came. I didn't bother calling them because I thought maybe they came by when I wasn't home, since they could get into the crawl space under my house without me having to be home. But when my dogs started to bark and scratch at the floor, like they did when we became aware of the rodent problem, I got concerned. So I called them and asked them if they had come by, and the customer service person, Heather, said no. I told Heather all of the problems that I've had with the service so far, and explained to her why I was frustrated. She scheduled a follow up immediately for a few days later, and I hung up feeling relieved. Then Heather calls me on the day of the service telling me that one of the drivers is out sick and so they won't be making our appointment. I was disappointed and annoyed and she put her boss on the phone, David. David is not someone you want to talk to when you're annoyed, because he loves excuses and and making empty "apologies," like "well, you know, what can I say? People get sick and we're under staffed and this has been a problem before... you're not our only customer..." But none the less, I scheduled another appointment, setting aside ANOTHER day that I would sit at home all day waiting for them. Just to have them stand me up, without a phone call. In fact, I called them on the day of the service, to confirm our appointment, and low and behold, Heather told me that they hadn't scheduled me. Today was the last day. I called Heather at 11:07 to confirm that they were going to keep our 11-1 window. She confirmed. 1pm passes, I am furious. When I call, Heather responds by saying that the exterminator called from the road 40minutes ago, saying that he was running late. I wasn't notified that I would be sitting at home for 3hrs waiting for a company who already stood me up twice, who I've had to change my entire schedule for three times now. Heather offered no solutions to the problem, in fact, I had to tell her to hang up the phone with me, call the exterminator and get an eta on when he would be at my house. When she called me back, she place me on speakerphone without telling me, which enraged me, and when I asked why I was placed on speakerphone and who I was speaking to, David picks up the phone. Admittedly, I lost it, but they deserved worse than what I gave them. RODENTS STOP QUOTES: "We cannot guarantee the outside of the house, so cleaning the feces on the outside of the house is a favor" "You're not our only customer" "You know, the type of work we do, lends itself to not being able to properly estimate arrival times" "What do you want me to do?" Maybe there is another David at this company. I'm not writing to berate this company but to provide my experience so that not everything is all well as it seems from other reviews. David showed up at my door. I thought he was rude and disrespectful. Did not even say, "Hello my name is". Unlike the reps from other companies, he did not provide any information to educate the consumer. He did not bring a proper ladder to look in my attic. He refused to look under the house. He worked on 20,000 jobs like mine (to remove rat infested insulation, sanitize, and install new insulation), so he did not need to look. His company did 6-7 jobs a day. I asked how big his company was. His answer was simply, "Big". I asked, how many employees. He said 13. He emailed me a quote the same day. For a 2,100 sq. ft. house with no "active" infestation, he quoted me $7,400. Another company did a very through survey of my property, explained in detail, and quoted me less than half that. If you can find another company do so. Dealing with Rodent Stop has been almost as bad as the rats I hired them to take care of. I called Rodent Stop back in July to clean and seal my attic from rats that had gotten in. Initially they were a dream to deal with, Zeev the owner came out early on a Saturday morning to write up an estimate. I was assured EVERYTHING will be taken care of. We went over what services I would need. I was going to have the whole attic cleaned, sealed up, & would require new insulation in the attic. The initial price he quoted was very fair and I asked again if this would include everything discussed...he seemed almost offended that I was asking and again assured me "Everything is going to be done. Do not worry" I was told he would need to send his crew to come rip out the insulation so they can see any possible entry points and set up traps. I asked when payment was due and was told 'when all work is complete...i want to make sure you are happy and that is when our job is done" I felt they were the right choice. A crew of 8 showed up about a half hour later and work began immediately. The guy in charge quickly was asking for payment. I told him Zeev said no payment would be due until the work was completed he calls Zeev...strangely enough it turns out the estimate did not included insulation removal or re-installation in the price although it did list it. Fair enough...I just want the problem fixed and had already started work and I couldn't understand paying thousands just to have my attic vacuumed and not remove soiled insulation so told them to go ahead with the insulation job too. At the end of the day guy in charge asks how I want to pay...I say well you haven't laid new insulation yet...so when you complete that. I was then told "Oh well, that is another service. But let us do our check ups and we can discuss then". Upfront honest estimate...yeah I think not. It is one thing to miss an item on an estimate but to have 2/3rds of the costs missing that is a huge error on their part...or shady business practice. A few days pass and one morning his people show up unannounced calling me asking to come in...however I was at work. I told him that no contacted me about setting up a time to come. The guy apologized and set a new time to come. However, the next 2 times after the guys that were sent to check traps no one contacted me to set a times. I left voice mails for Zeev on his cell phone and at the office. Unfortunately I didn't hear back to discuss his lackluster business practices. I am still baffled by an estimate that states "attic clean up & sensitization", yet fails to include removal of urine and feces soaked insulation...as this seems like a pretty big piece of the clean up puzzle. I personally cant see how its possible to do one and not the other so of course I paid. I understand the pricing for sanitizing and clean up which that in itself was worth the price of that portion. But the rest of what they charge for is very subjective and utter crap. The majority of the sealing (in my case) was able to be done from the attic but a few cans of spray foam and wire mesh is how they sealed openings...it works but looks horrible. As for the Insulation, Home Depot sent someone out and did it for less half the price Rodent Stop attempted to charge. They do a great job cleaning out the attic...not one rat turd in sight. Why is it that when you find out you have rats you freak out? Is it their inky black, shadowy bodies darting across your kitchen at midnight raiding whatever fell behind your stove? Is it that moment when you finally concede that you were not dreaming - you had been hearing scratching noises in the walls at 4 am? Is it that oddly permeating, slightly musky smell when your dishwasher is running and you realize that the little rat bastards were all cuddled and warm together living in the insulation- loving each other up, making babies, confusing hot rushing dishwashing as their hot sexy waterbed? Is it deep DNA memories of the plague? Rat fleas destroying your pampered white dog's fur? Whatever it is I want them the fcck out of my house. And now. Like yesterday now. Not next Tuesday between 9 and 1 now. Not now-ish. I went to THREE different rat removal companies over 6 months. The first one charged me crazy money to staple gun screens in every single little hole and crevasse all over the exterior of my house: the roof line, the doors, odd outdoor closets that hide captive, unused rakes and ominous cobwebs. They placed traps (the old school kind) swabbed with peanut butter (rats are not fans of cheese). They nabbed a baker's dozen. They came twice. Never called. Didn't give a rat's ass. Company number two came and jammed dog food on the spiky stabber of the old school traps (the common denominator here) and applied a clear poisonous liquid on all pipes coming from the outside (?). Caught one. Called them a couple of times because we still had rats. Nada. The reality is, that company didn't make the big rat money because they didn't get the gig patching up the holes with the screens. Which is the whole deal at every single rat place you go to and they milk you for it.. Rat poop kept appearing. My son gets a bug bite that I'm convinced is from a mite and my darling will be paralyzed from the disease any day.. I tearfully investigate other exterminators. I needed someone who just does rats. The guys who kill bugs are pussies; Spray some poison and go home to smoke a bowl of arsenic laden crap and fall asleep with a beer can. They don't do the murder of mammals thing. I was looking for Rat Rifleman. I finally stumbled across Rodentsstop (the company with the double "ss" in their brand name mistake). Rodentsstop (see what I mean?) actually had a real plan and wasn't pissy that he didn't get the screen gig. They clean everything by vacuuming and soaking your walls, wood, etc etc in ammonia. Rats hate that. (shit, I do too) More traps - also smeared with peanut butter. Then a Rat "bomb". We slept elsewhere. Add an electrical thingy bob that I guess plays heavy metal rat music (my spoiled fatties prefer Jazz) - they went nuts - and not peanuts. Next night no sign of rats!! Sleepily walking into my bathroom in the pitch, glancing in the blurry dark mirror I caught sight of the final furry fccker.. perhaps the brave captain escaping after all the women and children were safe, jumping ship by actually climbing up the tile wall and squeeze his slinky ass through the window. Scared the bejesus out of me.. REDRUM Zev from Rodentsstop comes back. Dutifully. Armed. Opens up the ceiling in the kitchen.No really. he OPENED UP THE CEILING.. Cleans up more poop, more ammonia. throws another bomb. More traps, more costco peanut butter. Closes up another hole. This man is a soldier! I'm like a blonde bimbo second row of a boxing match screaming "KILL THEM!!!" They are finally gone. And I cannot recommend Rodentsstop enough. Don't even think of going anywhere else. Rodents Stop were super friendly on the phone and accommodated our request for an estimate really quickly. My jaw dropped when I got an estimate for several thousands dollars! $7000 to be exact if we wanted the whole entire job to be done. Supposedly, our attic was covered in urine and rat feces and we needed to replace the insulation and clean out the whole entire place. We had another recommended company come and give us an estimate a few days later. They did what needed to be done the same day they came to give us the estimate, told us that there was no urine nor feces in our attic, closed all possible openings at ground level and roof level and set some traps. They returned a week later to collect the trap and charged us $255. We have been rat free for weeks now. read more

After dealing with Rodents Stop on a regular basis for the past month and a half, I can say that the owners and their employees definitely have different levels of abilities and commitment to deter and eliminate rodent activity in a home. Surprisingly it was the owners who consistently under performed and missed red flags when it came to the treatment of our rodent problem. Their employees were much more thorough and actually provided different recommendations than their bosses! This was apparent on two separate occasions. The first was when their technician Gustavo, after coming out to our house for what seemed like the seventh time to plug up more rat holes, asked why we never had our insulation removed and replaced. We informed him that David (one of the owners), did not recommend this service in his initial estimate of the job back in April. Gustavo didn't understand why that was, since he felt that was the primary reason as to why the rats around our house were still actively attempting (and successfully) coming back in. This led to another round of work that involved replacing air ducts and removing the existing insulation. We were told by the technicians that it was best not to put in the new insulation immediately, but to wait about 2 weeks, with 2 visits scheduled in between, in order to monitor the rat activity and ensure that it had stopped. On one of these visits before our new insulation was installed, David was the one who came back out to our house to do the inspection, and he actually asked us why we hadn't gotten the new insulation placed in already! On top of that, he didn't even bother to physically go into the attic to check for evidence of rats. What kind of quality service is that? Obviously this company has many hands, with different capabilities, and who clearly do not communicate with one another. I'm fortunate enough to own a rental home in the area, and I can firmly say that if that property were to develop a problem with rats, I would only call Rodents Stop if it were my last option. read more

Simply fantastic company! We have been using them for years now. We hired them for our main house 3 years ago and have been basically rat-free ever since. Recently we hired them for our guest cottage and have been rat free there since they finished....nothing....not critters at all. And if there is ever one that sneaks in...they are out to find the entrance and stop any invasion in its tracks immediately and without charge. Rodent Stop did the initial work at our home on cleanup and sanitizing spaces on April 17. We chose to have them also replace the attic insulation. They then came out to reinspect so as to insure they had identified and closed all entry points. As of today, nearly 3 months later, they have been back 7 times. It has been a long process, but mice require such tiny access points to enter that such is required to do the job right. Rodent Stop is persistent. They don't declare the job done until they have proven it is done. Since we live in a brush area, we had been told by others that completely rodent proofing a home was impossible. We were renting a house that had rats living in the roof for a few years and our landlord failed to take care of this by sending random rat exterminators to come in who have done nothing. She was understanding and empathetic to the troubles we faced regarding the landlord and the rat problems.
