Ordered a plate of rice and beans that is supposed to be a large, but it is actually like a small plate that you would serve kids on and that alone costed six dollars my husband got the El Charito no complaints there. TVs on the wall but you could still hear conversations. The service was good. Teas and margaritas are quick to come to the table. I had the old standard of Tex Max plates, the cheese enchiladas. One can judge the Tex Mex restaurant by the quality of salsa and cheese enchilada plate. It comes with rice and refried beans all of good quality. There are too many food options!! I repeat, they have too many food options! The server suggested the "Rodeo Dinner Mix." That has beef, chicken, and shrimp as the protein base. You add grilled vegetables and bacon. It's served with an avocado salad, sour cream, cheese, charro beans, tortillas, and sopapillas. You essentially get a complete meal with dessert. They provide standard chips and salsa while you wait for your food. The salsa is really tasty. It has a slight kick of spice just to alert you that they could burn your mouth if they wanted to! It is really well balanced with spice and flavor. You can easily tell that this salsa was freshly made. No way you will find that flavor in a massed produced jarring set up! I'm not going into grave details about the suggested item. Just know that it came out fresh, hot, and tasty. When you read the description of the item, can you truly go wrong with that many proteins, mixed vegetables, and toppings? The sopapillas wrapped up the meal really well. I looked to my right and noticed self-serve ice cream with cones. I ate half the sopapillas and then used my newly earned space on the plate to hold ice cream. Trivia Nights are very fun! The Migas is a good vegetarian option and the Chicken Diablo is great for the carnivores- would recommend.

I placed an order for my dad who is legally blind for quesidialls thur door dash. When he received his order the quesadillas were soggy and greasy, I called the restaurant and explained that I work in another city and he obviously can't drive. I was met with instant hostility as the lady who answered the phone explained to me that she made the order personally which had pico and added onions and bell peppers and she know that it was not soggy she also stated that she added extra tortillas. I explained that I did not dispute the way she prepared the food only that it was soggy, she asked what would I like her to do and I stated if they could possibly remake it and add the pick on the side and deliver it to him as he is not able to drive. She stated no I could just dispute it and I would never be able to order from them again! Wow! My company I work for has luncheons and we order from them occasionally to feed 72 people! I will be sure to let them know that this restraint will never be an option for us again! Give one star because I can give zero stars! read more

I struggle to write this review. I really liked the food and the atmosphere. My problem was the owner. My mom and I went there every week for a few months now. Recently, I received a bill for 2 dollars higher than the menu stated. Instead of just adjusting the ticket, she first humiliated me, then tried to comp our entire meal and told us to leave. I insisted on paying the entire ticket as I was not trying to get a free meal. I will never feel comfortable coming back, though. The whole thing was just bizarre! There are 9 mexican food restaurants in Huntsville. Most of them serve decent to delicious food. read more

The manager came over and all she could say is we sprayed yesterday so we can still remain open. We asked for our whole meal to be compensated which she acted like she could only comp my meal. My job finds me doing an overnight in Huntsville every other week. I usually don't have time to eat anything during the day, so by the time dinner comes around, I'm starving. I usually get a to go order from one of the local places and take it back to my hotel room. Such was the case the other night when I decided to give Rodeo a go for the first time. I've been on a flautas kick lately, so I ordered the chicken flautas made with flour tortillas. As an appetizer/side dish I got the bean and cheese nachos. The flautas came with the usual beans and rice, plus some sour cream and guacamole, and something they call a "cheese puff". They also included chips and salsa, which some places don't give you on a to go order, unless you pay extra. So, first the positives: big portions, decent prices. This was a LOT of food, for about 20 bucks. The service was great. The guy who took my order was friendly, and while I was waiting, a young lady stopped by to make sure I'd been taken care of. The food came out quickly, and was still nice and hot by the time I got back to my room. As for the not-so-positives...that would be the food itself. The bean and cheese nachos were all right, but it seems like the kind of thing that doesn't lend itself well to a take-out situation. When I first opened the container, I honestly thought that it was just beans and cheese. I didn't see any chips. Turned out they were buried at the bottom, underneath the beans and cheese. Of course, the chips themselves were totally soggy, so I had to use a fork. And there was something about the cheese I wasn't crazy about, not sure what is is. As for the flautas, I really didn't care for them at all. They were quite large, but the chicken was dry and underseasoned, so they were extremely bland. I tried to overcome some of the dryness by drenching them with as much sour cream and guacamole as I could, but it didn't work. I ate them anyway because I was starving, but if I hadn't been so hungry I would have just tossed them. I think it's safe to say that Rodeo has officially gotten me off my flautas kick! The beans and rice were decent, especially the rice. As for the cheese puff thing, the less said, the better. If I were just rating the food, I'd give this place one and a half stars, maybe two at best. But I did like the way I was treated, as well as the prices and the portion sizes, so I'm giving them three stars. Not sure I'll ever go back...if I do, it'll be a while. read more

This is probably one of the worse Mexican restaurants in Huntsville. Kids are always running around while you eat. Food doesn't have any flavor and the margaritas are just juice. The food was very mid. I did not expect my rolled chicken flautas to be made on flour tortilla. The refried beans were mind off thick, but the rice was soooo good. I hope i can go by again and try something different maybe then it will give me a different perspective! Salsa and chips are ehhhhh. We were not greeted by anyone upon entering and the waiter did not meet us with a smile. He just said, "drink?" Establishment appears clean, furniture in good shape. Our table was wobbly. Tacos are fresh with light crunchy shells, plates are VERY hot. Enchiladas, rice and beans are the best I've had in Huntsville (been here 53 years). Food served speedily. No one checked on us during our meal. However the food was good and we wanted for nothing. So, this was inconsequential. When we were finished and ready for a Togo box the waiter showed up. Didn't have to ask. Would have given the place 5 stars had we been greeted better, gave us a salsa carry out and prepared out doggie bag. They are family owned and I understand that...there was a nine year old girl playing hostess, messing with her hair, etc. There were 2 young ladies (wait staff) standing at a table in eating area, eating food from some place else. Salsa is great, they are also the only place in the Brazos Valley area that I am aware of that serves Menudo daily, so that in itself is a always a plus in my book. The tripas was cooked accurately the hominy was soft however the flavor profile was a bit bland. Not the worst I have had but not the best either. I would have it again if that helps. Service is a little slow, the tea wasn't the freshest I have ever had but it wasn't horrid. Again that salsa though makes this place worth the stop at least once in my book. read more

I'm furious after tonight. We come into rodeos about once a week during the school semester and always order sangria margaritas so we're pretty fond of the drink. Well tonight my friends marg was very strong and she asked if she could get a new one so she could actually drink it. We even tried to compromise and ask if he could pour some sangria out and add more frozen marg but his first response was "you're gonna pay for that." And refused to try and figure something out. (We've had this waiter before and I've never seen him smile.) The drink sat there and melted... she did not drink any of it after that. She took maybe 3 sips when she decided it was too strong (pics included). My friend asked to speak to the manager and she was VERY RUDE. She told my friends "next time don't order a margarita period." And repeated it about 3 times and emphasized it. It was very belittling, she tried to say we were too young to be able to handle a marg even though we regularly ordered that exact marg. She ended up taking the marg off of our tab but I told her she was very rude and handled the situation poorly on my way out and we got into an altercation. She denied saying the rude comment and went back and forth with me. This isn't the first time we've had a bad experience here. Once a friend went to the bathroom and a waiter waited outside of the bathroom to ask for her number and another time two male waiters were speaking how we were sexually appealing to them in Spanish not knowing my friend is Hispanic and could understand them.
