We had not dined at Rodeo for a long time and drove across town to eat lunch there today. Entered the restaurant and no one was there to seat us. Waited for a while, walked into the dining area and still no one. Went back to the entry and someone finally came. He indicated he would seat us. Once in the dining area. he laid the menus on a table with menus stacked up and left. We walked around and could not find a table that had been bused. After waiting another minute, we took this as a certain sign that we would not have a positive experience and left for another restaurant. read more

Great food, great prices. This is one of the best places to eat which I have found in Huntsville, Tx. Everything is fresh, the salsa is warm and freshly made, the beef fajitas are excellent, and the borracho beans or charro beans are to die for. I highly recommend this place. read more

This is the best Mexican place! We have lived in Huntsville for 8 years and eat here all the time. Super friendly people, great food and it's super fast...and very reasonable on price. The host that seated us was a child. That same child took our credit card payment at the end of the visit. Just saying. Some people may have thought this was cute, but I was a little uncomfortable. I guess I mean creeped out, but that's not nice to say about the little people. The waiters were friendly enough, but not very talkative. I went here with a hangover, so I couldn't eat much, but I will say that the refried beans actually had a good flavor. They weren't like the beans at many Mexican places, which are often either lacking flavor or tasting like bacon grease or other animal lard. I had chicken flautas that were decent but a little greasy. So.. overall, this place is decent, but there isn't really anything special about it... except for the life-sized horse statue that greets you when you walk in. read more

This is the worst mexican restaurant in town. When we arrived we had to wait several minutes before the waiter came to the table and there were only 4 customers at the time at 11:45am. When the waiter finally came to our table he was very rude, we only seen him one time when he rudely took our order. They never refilled our chips and salsa. The salsa was awful, the restrooms were very dirty and the staff there is horrible. We decided to get up and leave without our food it was that bad. My wife and I were both excited when Rodeo reopened after an electrical fire destroyed their original location a couple months back. It is a locally owned, family run business serving food in traditional Mexican (rather than Tex-Mex or Southwestern) style. Service is very good, our cups of soda or tea never run dry, and at lunch we leave absolutely stuffed paying $10 each including tip. read more

ZERO STARS PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! Visited this place first time today at lunch time with 2 of my family members to celebrate my birthday & will never be back! We walked in & stood behind several people that were ahead of us just inside the door, the woman working the register ignored all of us & after about 5 long mins she looked up & said everyone go have a seat wherever u can find.. just edgy & a terrible greeting but whatever, sat down for about 15 minutes before our server came to get our drink order, he didn't greet us just walked up and said Drinks? About 5 mins later a woman came walking by and sat a basket of chips down and flung 2 hot sauces on table without saying a word just seemed as if we were a inconvenience to the whole waitstaff.... waiter returned with drinks sat them down didn't say nothing kept walking.... about 10 mins later came back and said what's the order? When I asked a simple question about the menu he got very rude but I thought maybe he was having a bad day so tried to overlook it but things did not get better, we all decided to cancel the order after it had been placed & leave! So happy we did because we tried 7 Leguas for the first time & they made up for the horrible service we had at Rodeo... I highly recommend 7 Leguas if you are looking for great food & friendly service... I hope the staff at Rodeo can learn how to treat their customers better... read more

Food was good, but felt like we were a burden to all the waitstaff there when there were only three tables in the whole restaurant. Our waitress came to the table with her baby in her arms one time. When we went to go pay the bill upfront, the front desk person was listening to her iPhone with your earbuds in And made us feel like we were interrupting her music time. She couldn't be less friendly with us. We will not be back. read more

We stopped here on the drive between Houston and Dallas, and all I can say is WOW. Literally everything was great, from the salsa, to the rice and beans and the tacos al pastor. Don't let the dive atmosphere turn you away, everything was superb and the price was unbeatable read more

It is now located off Highway 30 in the shopping center with Hobby Lobby. 3011 Highway 30 #307, 936-438-8284 This is a small place tucked into a strip center that is a favorite with locals. Good food and good service at reasonable prices. I have been many times and never disappointed. read more

My husband ordered cheese enchiladas which were okay ish. I ordered chicken Diablo which was hard and dry and made me choke it was so dry. When we got the ticket it was not adjusted at all so I asked the manager if I could split the cost with her on my plate and pay half. She refused and told me to not come back. We go for the margaritas, definitely our favorite in Huntsville! They are strong, cheap, and usually pretty smooth. The food is also very reasonably priced and pretty good. The enchiladas are good, fried avocado is delicious, and quesadillas are just alright. The salsa is definitely lacking though, I wish the green salsa was avocado based. The red salsa is a little better but is too watery and not thick enough for my taste. Still we always come back for the great margaritas and decent food. read more

We did not have the same experience as others. I will say the food was good but the service was terrible. I ordered a skinny margarita and it was the worst I've ever had and tasted like pure lime juice. They seemed put out that I couldn't drink it. I asked for a regular margarita to replace it but it didn't come so I asked again and the waiter said he wasn't sure what "she" was going to do, meaning the manager I suppose. What is there to do but bring the drink? As I was finishing my food she came to the table with a sample for me to try before she gave me the drink. At that point I was finished and ready to go. I was in Huntsville for a golf event and decided to try suggested Mexican restaurant, Rodeo. It had 4 star rating and many great comments, however was honestly one of the worst I've ever had. It started off with chips and a warm orange colored salsa that was bland and thin. The cheese enchilada was stuffed and covered with processed cheese of some kind. The taco was greasy and the shell drenched with grease and falling apart as I tried to eat it. Sorry for the brutally honest review, but there's a Taco Bell close by that would've been a better choice. read more

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant last night, after never having been there before. We both really liked our meals and have made it our favorite mexican restaurant in town. He got the steak Carne Asada. It came out sizzling, with a good portion of steak. It came with the sizzling steak, which was seasoned really well, tortillas, rice, and charro beans. I had the Mucho Grande plate which came with two cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, a taco, and a queso shell. Everything we had was very good, and had a good flavor to it, even the rice and beans. The waitstaff there was very friendly, and was prompt at asking us if we wanted more chips and salsa, or refills on our drinks. The prices were very reasonable. Overall this place was great and deserves the five stars! read more
