Reason why we stayed here was they were pet friendly, and when I walked in smelled like an old ashtray! What really got me, is they take a picture of you ID and there was no mention of it or any signage stating they need a copy of your ID. Paid on line but still took my credit card for incindentials. Extremely rude staff. I let the front desk know the vent in my bathroom(which was dirty) was on the floor when we checked in, and the response I got was, "I'll be sure not to charge you for that." Not, "Let me fix that right away", or, "I'm so sorry about that." Check in was unorganized. I was not greeted when I walked in, just stared at blankly. The guests that were checked in before me were given a room someone else was already checked into. Breakfast was cold, and the waitress sighed in my friends face when asked for creamer. Never brought silverware. Neither the front desk nor the restaurant was able to break a $20 so we could tip. Wallpaper in my room is peeling off the wall. read more

This property has really gone downhill the last couple years! Don't expect lights, and showers to work. Oh... and you better bring your own blow dryer and extra towels! It was raining as we travelled back from four corners monument, so camping felt like a bad idea so we decided to settle here for the night. We had gotten our hotel reservation thru expedia, but honestly I feel like $98 dollars for 2 person double bed for 1 night seems pricey considering theres no complimentary breakfast! You have to buy it from their restaurant. WI-FI doesnt work...Room was decent, some wallpaper peeling off wall... Bathroom clean with some toiletries blow dryer doesnt work.just wish they had some lotion and an exaust fan... They have alot of lamps for lighting the room and surprisingly they all worked and lit the room very nicely! AC/Heater works and beds were made clean and neat with enough pillows and sheets! Stayed at rodeway inn on a whim. The price was reasonable, and they're also animal friendly. The service was quick and efficient. The room was spacious and clean, and several pillows were provided. They gave us each a ticket for breakfast, of which 3 breakfast options were available, but we left extremely early. read more

Stayed here after a long day on the road. Checked in late and stayed because most other hotels were full. The price was cheap and the bed was clean and comfy. But don't have much else nice to say. The bathroom looked like a HS locker room and the carpet was dirty. Not sure they even had an elevator. It is a big place that was not taken care of. No comment on the water park part of the place did not use. For breakfast you get a voucher to use at the resturant in the hotel. My food was undercooked and the staff was friendly but over whelmed with the small crowd. Front desk said the place was under new management and was making repairs. They have a LONG WAY to go to get it back into shape. Would only stay again if it was the last place open. But the PRICE did reflect on what you got. read more

Hotel was okay but they were definitely remodeling so hoping it will be nicer in the future. Hotel also offered a few games for kids like ping-pong and foosball which is a great thing if you are traveling with children. One of the bright spots in the visit to this hotel was the front desk clerk and the maintenance man who went out of their way to get us back to our car that had broken down and was being repaired. If I could have given this place zero stars I would. This place is an absolutely DO NOT STAY. I've been on a trip for the past three weeks staying at cheap hotels, and this place is by far the worst. Showed up to our first room, look at my bed and there are food stains (with food still on it) all over the bed, so the sheets clearly have not been washed. Then move into a second room, and am only finding stains on the sheets again, I decided to sleep in my sleeping bag. Then this morning is where I really go aggravates, about 20 minutes after I left, I realized I may have forgotten my sunglasses. Call the guy at the front desk, he goes "could you call me back in an hour" and I told him I was in a rush and asked him to look. He puts the phone down on the desk, sits there for a minute. Then says "I didn't find any"... as I'm sure you can imagine he didn't go to the room. Then I turn around show up, get a key, after arguing with him because "someone already went up and couldn't find them" only for me to walk in the room and find them on the floor. I would give this review a negative if allowed. Even though the hotel is going through a renovation, there are rooms that have black mold in their bathrooms. The black mold is all over the walls, so it's not like they don't know it's there, or they just have crappy housekeepers, and then you don't want to stay there anyway. It is a health hazard and until they get the renovation completed, I would stay away. The hard part is, there aren't any real decent hotels in Alamosa, CO, so we aren't getting five star choices. The only reason we were there was for work, but honestly, I would sleep in my car next time before staying at this hotel and putting our pregnant daughter at risk with the mold. read more

We chose this hotel for the water park and free breakfast. Both of which were a disappointment. Only one person per room gets a free breakfast voucher for the hotel restaurant. Everyone else has to pay. What a joke. The water park was also a huge let down. We were looking forward to the kiddie pool for our 15 month old and the water slide for us parents. The heater for the kiddie pool was broken so our daughter was shivering the whole time and we couldn't spend much time in the water. The water slide was broken and we were informed it would be that way for our entire stay. We were supposed to stay for three nights, but checked out after one night. The hotel in general is what you would expect from a two star hotel. Old and dated and you get what you pay for. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This hotel told me they had a pipe burst and could not accommodate my stay.... at 8:00 pm on the day of my arrival. They did not really apologize and did not even help me find another room in town, which was difficult as all of the hotels were booked up due to Adams State tournaments going on. I had to call the Fairfield Inn and they called around to help me find a room... fortunately. I got the last room available at Valley Motel. If the Fairfield Inn is too expensive then try Valley Motel. My rate was high that night as it was last minute and I had to book the most expensive room but both of the other hotels were helpful and friendly and both properties were clean. I did however eat at the Country Kitchen on site at the Rodeway Inn and it was not very nice. The dining room was not very updated. If felt like an old conference room. Food was gross and the service was medicore at best. Find somewhere else to stay. read more

This was a mess from start to finish. Actually, not finish because one of the rooms in our reservation was not finished. There was a guy spraying paint when we walked into our room. Still debris from "remodel" everywhere (I put remodel in quoted because shouldn't a remodeled room be nice or at the very least clean?) and they just handed me a swifer and some cleaner to take care of it. Glad they did because the bathroom floor was filthy. We had to leave the window open and leave for a few hours so that the paint fumes would chill out and when we came back and tried to turn the heater on, it didn't work so it was cold all night. Electrical flickered, zero water pressure, smoke detector beeped ALL night long, hallway and lobby were not clean at all (stacks of old furniture haphazardly stacked everywhere), furniture in the room had stains on it, toilet bowl was stained.......this was really not a great experience at all and on top of it, the staff was rude to US about it when we were trying to make the best of it. All amenities were closed down-we only stayed here because it listed a pool, restaurant, and bar. We should have slept in the car and if it's between staying this place or in your car, I suggest you choose the latter. read more

By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had! The front desk employees working on August 27th, 2016 at around 3:30 pm were completely unprofessional. I originally booked on booking.com and there was a discrepancy with the booking. I was first greeted by the female on duty (sorry, didn't catch names) who then turned me over to I'm guessing the guy manager on duty, who informed me that they couldn't honor my reservation. He offered for me to speak to his GM before completely turning me away. I watched him push a coat rack around a corner and return less than 30 seconds later informing me that his GM also couldn't honor my reservation. I then told him I watched walk around the corner and that I knew for a fact he didn't speak to his GM! Realizing he was a LIAR he immediately told the female to book me in. Upon entering the bedroom I noticed a huge stain on the ottoman, two light fixtures didn't work, and there wasn't any toilet paper in the wash room! If I could give no stars I would! This used to be a nice hotel and well-maintained. We had to come down here for an appointment and, honestly, we thought it had closed down due to the unkept landscape and parking lot. We drove to the back parking lot to access the banquet rooms and there was an assortment of broken down equipment strewn by the back of the building. It really is a shame that the new management has done such a poor job of taking care of this establishment. It is one of the first hotels travelers see when they come into the east end of town. With all the new hotels being built on the west end, it won't be long before they are out of business if they don't step up to the plate! We have stayed here a couple of times since we love over an hour away. Once was due to being evacuated during a wildfire and the other was for a family wedding reception. The price of the rooms for the quality we received was not up to par. We would love to see this place take some pride in their grounds and their facilities! We stayed in the Rodeway Inn as part of my boyfriends birthday weekend. What a disappointment! Our room had a tv that didn't work, and when we brought it to the front desks attention they said it wasn't their issue. We then asked about the hot tub, which was broken, and our heater unit which proved to be broken as well. After a long cold night, we asked the front desk about it and the corporate manager told us we stayed in a room that wasn't supposed to be rented out in the first place!! Breakfast was okay, the courtesy breakfast they offer is on a very limited list and they only have 1 poor waitress working. It took us 40 minutes to get food that was on a courtesy breakfast list?? Unlike any courtesy breakfast we've been offered before even at a motel 8. It was all food that we could have made in the microwave. I was hoping for a nice stay and got an overpriced cold room! Restaurant is awful when they have had good service they always fire those people and get awful servers. Bar makes people bring in their own liquor as they are "out of stock", probably can't pay their bills! Poor Poor management!!! Run away fast. I can't believe Choice hotels allows this one to stay open! We had a king suite on July 21st. The carpet was stained and frayed. The curtains falling down and the toilet seeped water around the bottom. Not sure they are meeting fire codes as the fire alarms in our rooms had no batteries or electricity. Horrible. Walked in smelled like smoke in the lobby. Signed 3 different places saying I wouldn't smoke in the room or would be charged. Went to our assigned room which reeked of fresh and stale smoke and the smoke detector had been removed. Some lights missing a light bulb while others simply didn't work. Asked for a different room. After checking I was fairly excited. Hearing they had a water park and a restaurant with a few choices for breakfast that came with the room but the option to add more. Then we got to our room. The beds were so tiny I had a hard time make my 6 year old and 7 year old fit comfortably. Then realized the sink had a weird break with the drain, the toilet was filthy, the tiles were crumbling. Our bed spread was pulled down to show a stain. We looked out our window to realize it looked into the lobby. Which was fine but we heard music from the lobby all night. Our phones could not connect to the internet with the hotels "free" internet. After a bad night sleep we went to breakfast. There was wait staff, but you sat yourself. After 20 minutes of attempting to get someones attention we left empty tummies and went to a cute breakfast house down the street. While attempting ro check out the customer in frontof me was asking about his fee dor the room and tax percentage. At this point the manager came from the back room and yelled at him about their system being down and not being able to see the information. She then asked what l needed and I told her I needed to check out she walked away, I assume so the other front deck person could do it. I decided at that point that I would get no were complaining about the state od the room and just left. Needless to say after 6 hotels it was sad. read more

Dirty restrooms and I don't mean just a little unkempt I mean dirty toilet bowels, filthy showers, the shower curtains looked so old and unchanged I would not shower in this place even as a last resort. I was patient and asked the front desk to just come clean my restroom. My request was denied. Denied. I even showed pictures to the front desk girl who said eww that's gross. Gross gross grosssss!!! This place is absolutely awful, took a family trip through there and saw the pictures of the pool and rooms online and called ahead to reserve. Upon arriving we realized the pictures were not at all accurate; the pool (the only reason we were interested in staying in the first place) was closed and had been for over two years, the lobby had no air, the windows from the rooms actually opened into the lobby, ceiling tiles were falling off the ceiling, and rooms were filthy. We tried to get them to refund our money which we had JUST payed and they refused saying it was "against their policy". Staff was very uncooperative and rude. They said the pool being closed was mentioned on every website but upon thorough investigation by my sad 13 year old brother, was not to be found. We left anyway despite not getting our money back and went to find other board it was THAT disgusting. read more

Do not stay here!!! Hotel is run down and dirty. Employees are incompetent and lazy. They claim to have free breakfast on their website, but it's only one free breakfast per hotel room, not per guest. And it's sit down style where they expect tips. We picked this hotel for the "indoor water park" and when we got there yesterday, the one and only water slide was broke, the heater was broke for the children's pool, the ph was too high in the hot tub and the employee forgot to turn on the heater for the main pool, so it was ice cold! I don't even know where to being when it comes to how horrible it was to stay here. I had high expectations considering I worked here in college, but WOW...how disappointed I was! we got there to find a smoke detector beeping outside our door, and the front desk asked my husband to change it out...not too big of a deal. you get what you pay for when you pay $50 a night. the second night we found a USED needle and syringe sticking out of the carpet under the desk in my in-laws room. when we told the front desk, they said thank you and walked away. neither of our rooms received housekeeping the last 2 nights there, toilet paper and tissue weren't even restocked. the TV in my in-laws room went out and they never sent a repair man like they said they would but we are also wondering if we are going to get charged for it since there were several complaints about that already. i was super bummed that this was how my sister in law experienced Alamosa for the first time. seems like the management doesn't give a rip about this hotel, and that is evident on how gross and torn down everything looks! read more
