I used to eat here all the time but things have changed. The staff started to make me feel more and more uncomfortable, to the point that I would only go thru the drive thru. The food is great but it's not worth the anxiety. The last few times I've ordered food there has been an issue with my order. Without fail every time, something about my order is wrong. I've experienced part of my order missing and receiving something other than what I ordered. This place used to be great. The food is excellent, but it's a whole ordeal to get it. Pretty darn good food with great people. Food is authentic I almost always have tacos de lengua and tacos cabeza and at times a Chile relleno pictured below. Salsa bar is available at no charge as are fresh corn tortilla chips. My wife goes a more traditional route with rolled chicken tacos with sour cream and guacamole. This place is great and cheap. Easy menu and generally fast service. It does have a drive thru. Don't be fooled by that. The food is great. Like a hole in the wall. They don't have spendy food prob cuz the food they sell is so good and they sell so much of it. So fast. Always busy when I go in there but dang the food comes quick. And the grill is right in front of you. You watch them cook it lol. And I've seen plenty of hands being washed before cooking. !! read more

Great choice for tacos north of downtown. Traditional, small family-style taco shop if you get the style. About six or more different salsas at the bar, plus extra fixings. Beef tacos are shredded beef in a home-made hard shell, I usually eat four. The carnitas is a big taco, served on two tortillas with delicious shredded pork seared and crisped with guac and pico. Very reasonably priced. Fast and consistent. Generally not greasy, but then, why would you go for tacos and Amero-Mexican? Staff is friendly and cheerful. I recommend going during lunch / dinner hours when it's busiest. read more

Carne Asada Burrito. This is my favourite little mexican joint in Oregon. It rates up there with Roberto's in San Diego. I cannot get enough of this place. Ever since I have had the experience of eating here, I have wondered how I live so far away without. This is the first place I demand eating at when I arrive. It isn't about the ambiance. Came here after a night on the Bend Ale Trail, and in need of fast delicious Mexican food. At first, the taco prices surprised me as hefty, but the portions are appropriate to what you pay for. The food here tastes great!! Their enchilada sauce is to die for. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my cheese enchiladas aren't melted all the way, especially during busy times. OK, so I went in here on a Mexican food binge, but was immediately stymied by the fact that there is no written menu, just pictures, and the guy at the front doesn't really speak English beyond "yes" and "no." It seemed he said no to every question, even when I asked "What is in the burrito?" The clear subtext was that expecting any English conversation was inappropriate, since the guy didn't even seem to care if I understood. In desperation, I ordered what seemed like a simple thing, a quesadilla. It ended up looking like something I microwaved at home when I was 10 years old. For $6, that was disappointing. It did have a little spoonful of rice, and a little spoonful of pinto beans, to go with, but I still ended up eating some of my friend's dish for compensation: he got something delicious for only about a dollar more. The highlight of the experience was the Singing Cook, who knew all the words to the ranchera music they were playing, and yodelled them out like a fine tenor at every opportunity. He kept impishly peeking over the counter to see that he was appreciated, so I gave him a thumbs up and left him a dollar tip. Don't come for the mysterious menu, which you are supposed to interpret by picture alone-- come for the Singing Cook. He's on the up and up IMHO. PS Per some of the other reviews, I wouldn't put saying things in Spanish they think customers can't understand past this staff. Overall, they seem irreverent. read more

When I ask for three rolled tacos, I always have been asked do you want sour cream or guacamole. I always say no. Now a days they don't ask and they charge your for it and it's guacamole. It's gross...I don't want that crap on my tacos. When I ask for a potato bacon egg and cheese burrito, I always say extra crispy on the bacon. Do you understand english...soggy bacon is gross. Now I make it a point to come here pretty much all the time everytime I'm back in town for break. Food is consistently delicious, and staff are always friendly and quick. Horchata here is AMAZING, and the chips are fresh and the salsa bar is like no other. Place hasn't changed quality for the past ten years. Serving sizes are super bang-for-buck.
