Rodolfo's is my frequent brunch stop after church. The restaurant always has room, is extremely fast (less than 5 minutes,) and has a delicious menu of all your favorite Mexican dishes. Not to forget to mention that the prices are very affordable. Today I ordered #7 two beef burritos for ~$8 and that will be all the food I eat for the whole day because the portion sizes are large. I've also had their breakfast burritos before and a couple other things. I've always been pleasantly surprised. They have great sauces and accessories to decorate your dish with. Got to Rodolfos at 8:45am. Ordered some breakfast burritos. Took about 3 mins of awkward silence to be acknowledged. The only thing that was made fresh, well the tortilla was heated up. I went in thinking it might be like Taco Express or Albertacos. You know, where they cook the ingredients fresh. He put precooked ingredients that were on the grill in a metal Container in the burritos. Didn't have enough heat to melt the cheese. We started to eat the burritos and instead of bacon, like the menu states, there was ham. Big difference. 2 stars for good green chile, moderate price. Cook fresh, be just a tad friendly-it will go along way, stick to what the menu states. read more

Traditional Mexican Food. Large portions at a good price. No Frills Good Food. My favorites for lunch or dinner are the Carne Asada Burrito and the Chicken Quesadilla. I am a taco lover and have to say stopped at many places since husband and I are on the road. Their carne asada tacos were to die for! Meat was flavorful and lean. I'd heard good things about Rodolfo's before but hadn't had a chance to stop in until last week. While I may love a certain established competitor in the area, there is a certain level of authenticity that I often crave and Rodolfo's is packed full of that. First off, the salsa bar on the left is straight out of the best mom and pop taco stand in SW Texas or North Longmont (serious about that, check my Taco Tour list). They don't skimp on the heat like many tex-mex restaurants: the hottest stuff is on the left and will melt your face off of your skull. The place was packed for lunch. We ordered at the counter and found a recently-emptied table where we sat and wiped it down. They didn't have a numbering system, just called out order contents and whoever recognized the contents came and took the food (?). My wife had a smothered burrito and I got four tacos. The tacos are on the expensive side, but THAT IS BECAUSE THEY'RE HUGE. Think Taco Star size, but with far better filling; two would have been plenty haha. They're single-layer yellow corn tortillas lightly fried and filled with your choice of meat, in my case the adovada and carne asada, both of which were excellent. I'm requesting two tortillas per taco next time though. My wife's burrito was delicious and she couldn't even finish it in one sitting. I tried the different sauces and was duly impressed with all of them, especially the face-melter. Another treat for this location: they serve horchata, which you may need it you feel your face melting. While I may have noticed some areas for improvement in organizing things, we still loved every bite of our lunch and you won't be able to keep me away from this place. read more

We went there for lunch and thought it was great. We recommended it to our family and went back a few days later. 4 out of the 6 of us who ate the chicken torta got extremely sick! Was it the chicken or the veggies? We don't know, but whoever ate the chicken torta had explosive diarrhea that night and was very sick! So firstly, the restaurant itself is a bit dirty. I went to use the bathroom to breastfeed my daughter, and there was no soap in the dispenser. We ordered chicken tacos, tamales, a quesadilla for my son, and steak tacos. We also ordered fries with Queso and steak. The chicken tacos were hard shell. The shells were pretty good, although hard to chew. The chicken had a good flavor but Was a little dry. They had no tamales, so they gave us extra tacos. The steak tacos were soft, and the steak was not good. It was tough and flavorless. The fries weren't good at all. And this meal cost $40!! I would never go back. The food was not authentic. It lacked flavor. It wasn't cheap, and the place seemed pretty dirty. No go. read more

The food is really good, and it has an authentic feel - from the tacos to the chorizo. Plus, it's inexpensive. So, why only 3 stars? 1-Please put a sneeze guard over the salsa. I believe this is a health code violation. This is the only restaurant I've ever visited that doesn't have one. 2-Why do you charge 8% sales tax when the sales tax in Monument is 7.13%? Please correct the rate. The receipt doesn't break anything out - net cost, total cost, or items. But when I order two tacos for $5.00 and the cost comes to $5.40, simple math tells me 8%. 3-I was in around 1p and the place was dirty. The tables need to be wiped clean and the salsa that has dried up near the garbage can should be wiped away. read more

Good value, good food. Probably 3.5 stars. Ambience: Not much to speak of as this is a very simple take-out joint. However, it's very clean and you can see your food being cooked. Service: Order and pick-up from the counter. Friendly staff and fast service. Food: I had the chicken burrito which I thought was pretty good. Unlike most other places it wasn't overfilled with rice to make it look like you are getting more than you think. Instead it was packed with tender, well-season pulled chicken. So I liked mine but my two friends were a little disappointed with theirs. One had the chile verde plate and the tortilla was very over-fried and not very appetizing. Probably the closest thing Colorado Springs/Monument has to a Taqueria, this spot is akin to the Albertacos and Taco Stars peppered around the city. Same Menu and quality. This location in Jackson Creek, is great because they have the salsa bar. Red and Green sauces, Pickled jalapeños with carrots, sliced cucumber and limes. The green Tomatillo sauce is very good, and popular with frequent visitors. Had the breakfast burrito this morning, Rodolfos does the soft eggs in breakfast entries like VIva El Taco off of Academy, most other locations does hard eggs. Generous proportions, quick service. A step above fast food, not quite a dine-in restaurant. Most of the other locations have a 24hr drive thru, however the building is not designed for it. Other notable choices are the California (or Colorado, name depending on location) burrito, Carne Asada fries, large Quesadillas, and Chorizo burritos. I'd give this place 1/2 star just for having a clean restroom. The other half would have to come from the company I met for dinner--actually, that would be more than 1/2 of a star...... But seriously, I think I am just spoiled to having Mexican "My Way" in Memphis. First, let's talk about service--or the lack thereof. It's like walking into a fast-food joint and placing an order and in 5 minutes--"DING"-- your order is ready for you to come pick up at the counter. Drinks are "free refill", so get up and get your on. I'm cool with that. You don't really need to hire someone to fill my water glass. Next, let's talk about placing the order. It's cool if you speak a little spanish or can symbolize or use sign language to point to what you want and point to what you don't want added to your order. Finally, let's discuss the food. I had fish tacos--ok, ok I know I am just asking for it when I order fish tacos from a Mexican restaurant, but I thought I'd give the pollo a break. No tomatoes please. I think they threw in a few extra. Thanks, I can't wait to pick all these off and all of their friends, since I got a few more. The fish was ok--nothing over the top, bring me seconds, please. Yeah, none of that. It tasted like it was breaded in some type of batter that you might find at Cap'n Dees. My date ordered chips and cheese. We were expecting some type of cheese dip or queso. Instead, we got tortilla chips on a plate with shredded cheese on top, which was nuked in a microwave. SERIOUSLY? I think I will just pass that right by. For the 3 small children under 6 yrs old that were with us, from the children's menu, they ordered burritos or tacos, which came garnished with jalapenos! Uhm, what is the goal? Scar them for life? It is dirty...the tables at 2:30 in the afternoon were covered with the remains of the day...the seats too dirty to sit in. Styrofoam city here...with food coming basically from a steam table buffet. It is as self service as you can get with the typical piles of brown mashed goo and seasoned cold rice. I'll keep it short: GET THE BREAKFAST BURRITO and pour the unbelievable and addictive Green Chile sauce on every bite as you spill it on yourself driving in your car to work. That's what I do. You will never be more happy! OK, so it's later in the day, you are coming home from work, hungry - GET THE CARNE ASADA BURRITO and don't put anything on it - it is already perfectly set with the Pico de Gallo and guacamole. Crazy good juicy meat wrapped in those fresh tortillas off the grill. Mouth watering. Filling and cheap, too. Oh - You are on North Academy Blvd far from Monument? No problem - go to Viva El Taco near Vickers and Academy and get the exact same thing - same nice Mexican family owns and operates it too. Is there even anything else on the menu? I have no idea. The most disgusting place ever, no sanitation at all. The two guys working there are using the same glove to handle money and make food. One of the guy actually wearing glove on one had and touching costumers' food with dirty glove and dirty bear hand. I was just standing there with disbelief, not sure why anybody would eat here. They sure are not following any health guidelines, including wearing mask during this time. Glad I was paying attention so I didn't have to eat the food. Although the food is good they choose not to wear masks which is required. I had to report another health problem years ago for cleanliness. They are better now regarding cleanliness but no masks is a violation at this time. Beards and no hairnets in a sweaty environment. We used to eat here several times a month. so since living in washington dc the last 3 years (after leaving san diego), i have been on the search for a great mexican place that can compare to what i used to love in america's finest city. well all it took was a trip to colorado springs to visit my best friend who took me straight to this place after i got off the plane. i was immediately excited to see the picture of the carne asada fries on the menu, and the full salsa bar with carrots to the side. i didnt even blink an eye when my boy said we'll get a burrito each and share the fries. if you're used to the tasty carne asada that southern california AUTHENTIC mexican hole in the walls (albertos, robertos, alejandros, sombrero's) all offer, then this is definitely your home away from home. i did not try the horchata, although i was definitely curious about it since thats usually a great side to my burrito back home. read more

And when I say fast food I don't mean your typical American fast food, like I mean quality Mexican food. There's not many employees, but the ones they do have are attentive and polite. This is good authentic Mexican food. I ordered the beef chimi changa. It didn't look like it was on the menu but I asked and they said they can make one. The portion size was very good, the taste was good and it was a good change of pace from tex mex. The rice and beans were authentic and the red sauce was tasty. The guacamole was fresh and I really can't complain about anything. I wasn't a huge fan of the salsa or green chili but the total price was great. All that food for 7 dollars. In fact, my husband and I can never remember the actual name of this place because we call it "San Diego Mexican". They stood there watching tv for a solid 3-5 minutes before finally acknowledging our existence; honestly, not the biggest deal - it gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered a burrito, 2 tacos, a quesadilla + chips w/ guacamole. When we got home, we realized we got (now very soggy) chips covered in pico. Other than that, the food was pretty darn good. I have not been impressed with the Mexican food in Colorado, so this was a nice surprise as far as a hole in the wall style of restaurant. The tacos are terrific, all of the dishes I tried over a long time are really good, the service is fast, the selection is great, and the prices are very fair. I would really appreciate if they would repaint the floor, and clean the tables, floor, and windows more often.
