I know Mexican food. I promise. Crunchy chicken tacos specifically. Chicken is the only meat I eat, so I can only speak on that. Ever since I moved here from South Carolina/Georgia (right on the border), I was homesick just because of my favorite Mexican restaurant. Seriously nothing here came close... until I found this place. I have autism, with this I have pretty extreme sensory issues when it comes to food (ARFID), and this is my safe food. They are always consistent. They have been consistent since I was in school 4 years ago. Every time, I put in a special request for double rice instead of beans, and they honor it even though they don't have to. They have the best rice. It tastes just like the rice my Mexican friend's mom would make, and the aunties at the parties -- if you don't like it, you may just not enjoy authentic Mexican food. Luckily for you, there's plenty of places here for that . Also, I noticed some of the reviews. I have been in the drive thru and inside multiple times, and have had nothing but great experiences. I think it's important we understand that nobody owes you the overly expressive and fake customer service we're so used to. I always let them know I am very grateful for the food, and it's the best food around. KINDNESS EQUATES TO KINDNESS. Nobody owes you anything. Please treat them with respect. I swear, some of you are so entitled and don't consider the language barriers, culture differences, etc. you just expect everyone to bow down at your very presence. IMPORTANT NOTE: Saw someone here complaining about the 'waitress'. Maybe you should've checked Google first... or called? Idk, because you just sound plain ignorant. The food was ok, the service was no bueno. Our waitress wasn't very hospitable, no instruction, no smile, we had to ask twice for a soda refill. They got our drink orders wrong twice; just not a good experience. I would say she needs more training in customer service. They weren't that busy when we came in. I asked for a Diet Coke, no Coke showed up, we called her over and asked for a Diet Coke, she said "we don't have Diet Coke, we have Coke Zero." I asked her to bring me one. Asked for carne asada super nachos.. I got depressed nachos. Old meat w sadness. I only requested no guacamole and extra salsa sides. We received unmelted cheese w cold/ old meat and cream. I requested extra salsa... 2 red and 1 green total! I haven't came here in over 8 months in hopes it would improve but when I returned tonight it had sadly further dropped in position. If Taco Del Gordo was open longer than Albertacos, Albertacos would not be an equation. Should shut down w the food we were served. I opened Maps to get directions here just now and noticed the terrible reviews... and let me just say I am a crunchy chicken taco enthusiast and have tried every place here. This place is the best. I make a weird special request every time- and whether it's a delivery order or I'm getting it in store, there's never been a problem. I found a roach in my food at Arceo's at Garden of the Gods, and hair in my food at Tacos El Amigo. Never had a problem here. I recently moved here from Georgia and had to find a new go to Mexican place. This place is it. Try the crunchy chicken taco combo, you won't be disappointed. It's the best I've ever had. I can't speak for anything else, the only meat I eat is chicken. It's also a very clean store, and you can see the kitchen is clean as well. To end my rambling here, the workers I've encountered are very kind. I really hope these negative reviews aren't just competing stores... cuz some of it is straight outlandish. I'm a Mexican food junkie and I hadn't tried this place so I stopped in today. So first, the reason I hadn't tried this place is I thought that it was more of a "2 AM after the bar" type of a taco shop. The outside is kind of dingy. And I only drove through the drive-through so I can't speak for the inside decor. Turns out this taco shop is pretty similar to Monica's, Daniels, and Taco Express. It was a solid joint. It's slightly more expensive than the other three places I mentioned. I got a shredded beef taco and a Carnitas taco. These two tacos cost about a buck forty more here than they would've cost at Taco Express for similar portion sizes. What stood out to me the most was the Carnitas we're not greasy at all, and they were cut into little chunks instead of shredded. Quite tasty. I preferred the green tomatillo salsa. It had a little more kick to it. The red salsa had flavor, but not really spice. So the big question that I ask myself: if all four of these taco joints were lined up next to each other which one would I go into? I didn't think Albertaco's distinguished itself enough in quality to make me pick it. Taco Express is super tasty and it would be my favorite if it wasn't so incredibly greasy. Monica's and Daniels are a tossup for me. The portion sizes are a little smaller, but the food at both places is equally yummy. read more

Best breakfast burrito anywhere. We moved out of the area a few years go, but we make it a point to stop here for the breakfast burritos everytime we are back in town at least once. I dream about their red sauce, too bad they don't bottle and sell it (or maybe not since I would have to throw away all of my clothes so I could fill my suitcase with it). This location has had a remodel since we last visited too, so it's less sketchy inside than I remember. Our experience with Albertaco's was terrible! For starters, our food tasted like pure marijuana. It tasted like they were hot boxing the restaurant. Second of all, all of our food was cold. We had ordered using DoorDash and were extremely disappointed. Third of all, we've asked them specifically not to add Guacamole, and they didn't listen at all. Has a drive thru, it was yummy! But most importantly (for me) they have the REAL kind of shrimp burritos, the ones like home in San Diego, or ar least the closest I've found. Most places I've asked have a tomato based shrimp burrito, in a tomato sauce. This one has tartar sauce(!), cabbage, pico, and shrimp. Very good!
