I've been to this place a number of times. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly and the food is served fast. It is always spotlessly clean, too. I am from SoCal and love Mexican food and this is the first taco shop here in CO that I genuinely look forward to going back to. I usually order a taquitos plate with beans and rice, always great. The crispy shredded beef tacos are just like the ones I grew up with, only less greasy (which I love). The enchiladas are very tasty too. I highly recommend Taco Express. read more

We have gone to Taco Express for years but have had two recent awful experiences. Got a breakfast chorizo plate. As I ate I started crunching on something. I thought it may have been crisp chorizo, but no, it was all through the plate. I spit out egg shells. A week later my wife literally got rocks in her refried beans (see photo). This place is so good! As close as you get to legit Mexican food. Being from AZ and spending summers in Mexico, it's been a challenge to find authentic food here. I LOVED taco express... I was pretty nervous because I'm from southern New Mexico and I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food but this place was great. I ordered a chimichanga but switched the meat from the standard ground beef to the carne asada and omg!! It was seasoned so well!! I got no guacamole, no sour cream, and no beans... I also got two tacos because I assumed they were small but they were huge! Highly recommend!! This place was so yummy!!! I will be back next time I'm in town! read more

Just found my favorite Mexican fast food restaurant . Went through the drive thru (of course) ordered a beef burrito. The young lady that helped me was kind, sweet, friendly, eager to be helpful. Offered the information that they sell breakfast all day. I would love to try the nacho platter. Not sure if they have pico, I love pico sauce. Oh yes, the burrito was hot, fresh and delicious. My grandson in-law said their tacos are awesome. Maybe I'll try them today. I'm "hooked" after one trip. read more

My husband and I totally slept on this place at the start of the pandemic! We're originally from San Diego and picky when it comes to our Mexican food. This place did not disappoint! Reminds us of our beloved taco shops from back home. The burritos are massive and the hot sauce is on point! We've also had the rolled tacos which are delicious as well. We originally ordered through Grub Hub and they forgot to pack the hot sauce but nevertheless the food was amazing so we decided to go through the drive-thru on our second try and made sure they included the hot sauce. Their horchata is also bomb, not that watered down stuff that some places will serve you. So glad to have this place so close to home! read more

Preface- I'm from Los Angeles. As you can imagine, I've had a ton of tacos. From the fancy to the 2 AM taco trucks you find everywhere, and every other kind in between. This doesn't make me an avid taco critic. Please heed my words with a grain of salt. While visiting the Springs, as I love to do. I decided to give it a try. The carne asada tacos were delicious. So was the one lengua taco, but I enjoyed the carne asada ones the most. The price and portions were fantastic as well. They have increased the prices on the menu and the quality of food is terrible. For instance every single time you order a breakfast burrito you get all potatoes and barely any meat or eggs yet they are charging for the eggs. Today I was just done when I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and I had like five small specks of chicken and the burrito was stuffed with pico. I took it back to get a refund and the lady was arguing with me about guacamole. I never complained about the guacamole. I think she tried to play the no English card. Well Im done. Used to be my go-to place for Mexican food. In particular, I love their chicken tacos and my wife enjoyed their chicken nachos but as of recent they've really let things slip. Our past two visits we left in disgust with the flavor of the chicken which had a fishy taste. My guess is that they're preparing the chicken on the same flat top as the fish and are not cleaning it in between. Luckily, no one in my family is allergic to fish, but if you're someone who is I would recommend staying away. read more

I moved here from AZ where they had some of the best "cheap" Mexican food places like this one. I've now tried them all in the Springs and Taco Express is as close as it gets, at least so far. There seems to be a big difference between cooks and that kind of stinks but most of the time it's really good food for the price. read more

Their carne asada burrito (or tacos) is unreal. Their chicken burrito (or tacos) has so much flavor for chicken and is delicious! The carnitas burrito (or tacos) is also very good! I believe this is more Southern California style Mexican food (don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure it is). And, although I love me some Colorado/New Mexico green chili, I am loving the flavor and style of this place. I just had 2 carne asada tacos for dinner and I have a grin on my face from ear-to-ear. This (along with my 6 other meals I've had from their in the past few days) is what prompted me to write a review. If you haven't yet, grab a meal from this place ASAP. They even have breakfast! If you've been once or twice and can't really remember what you thought of it, go back again soon and grab something different. I have been coming to Taco Express at different locations for several years. I love the bacon/potato/cheese/egg breakfast burrito. I don't know what it is but when I add the red and green sauces, it's just delicious! The portion size is large and I usually split one with my husband or save it for later. Ordered chicken quesadilla and first bite tasted fishy like it was mixed with some sort of seafood. My husband doubted me but then spit out the bite he tried. We quickly turned around and explained this to the drive thru attendant. She offered to make a grilled chicken quesadilla instead. Not sure what happened but the second one tasted normal...
