They did a wonderful job helping to haul some items for disposal and to take some items to Goodwill. Let me start off that I don't write reviews for every business I visit. I write one for an experience with low performance or for one with exceeding expectations. In this case, Rodriguez Upholstery needs better reviews to improve their overall yelp rating and whenever possible I like to help small family businesses that are struggling and need second chances. My review is based off my experience alone. Reading many bad reviews on yelp almost made me not take a chance here. However, they were the most affordable I can find at the moment and I needed cushions. I visited the place where I met Juana who explained the process and options. After choosing the color I was reminded that foam was out back ordered and might take some time. I appreciated this reminder because I did not want to expect a fast turnaround. Lo and Behold, I was called a week later with news the cushions were done.  After setting up the cushions I admired the workmanship of Juana's hands. Not bad not bad. She does well. I also feel she did well with the choice of foam firmness because they are very comfortable. I am glad I took a chance with a small family owned business. Supporting local businesses is important so that we can have options of where to do business and not get only the choice of big businesses that overcharge. read more

What a horrible company to do business with, avoid at all costs!!!! They were supposed to complete work on my boat, I gave a 50% deposit to buy materials. They apparently didn't even use that money for materials because they still ended up using the wrong colors!!! They were supposed to make close to 12 pieces for me, they only delivered 3. The pieces that they did do are unfinished, not even stapled!!! They told me it would be done in 3 weeks, after 3 months they finally agreed to give me my boat back. Barely any work had been completed, the work that was completed was the wrong color and unfinished. Additionally, they stole pieces from my boat and have refused to return them!!! Our 15 yr. old large sectional was worn out & our cats had shredded a few areas. When I drive over to their shop I was uncertain about going in because of the area and adjacent shops had graffiti on their doors/walls. Their shop is extremely small and our sectional is very big so I was worried about how they could manage reupholstering it. Originally they gave me a very low estimate so I went back and read some reviews & photos were impressive. I asked Steve Rodriquez to come out and see our sectional to make sure that what we wanted is what he would actually be able to do. In the end, our sectional turned out beautifully and there was a lot of details that Paula ended up doing a fantastic job on! I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Complete scam. Was promised around 8 days to reupholster my sectional. Sent someone over with fabric samples which I opted to go with their supplier's selection on website. Took my sofa over a month ago and have been almost complete radio silence since. Never answer phone calls or text. They'd paste a pre-formated response once awhile after my multiple attempts at contacting them, saying there is a delay yet won't respond to any follow up questions. They ask you to pay with Zelle knowing that you can't charge back. Their shop is also apparently not open. Not even sure why this kind is sham business is even listed on Yelp. read more

After many long chats about customer service, I believed that he would pay attention to what I had to say and improve the service. I gave a deposit for a second order. IN JULY!! I still have not received my order. I asked for a status update or refund of my deposit. My polite text messages, emails, and calls are all being ignored. Shame on me for trusting, or wanting to trust. Further, I posted the inquiry on the company Facebook page itself. Not only was the post removed, but I was also removed as a Facebook friend. Clearly, they are aware that I am trying to reach them to find out about the order. We were given a quote over Yelp , things good at this point. We brought the furniture over to their shop. There was three dogs and poop all over = smelly We were given frantic options to do a chair, ...later they said their supplier didn't have fabric ...so we brought our own .... We were told one week to finish a chair. We waited , and waited , and waited .....texted and no replies to texts. They had the chair for over 4 weeks, they were supposed to finish it in one week. Finally, after I told them I would seek legal aid to get chair back they decided to reply. But the chair was not complete. Be aware, they are not a registered licensed business. Time to completely re-do it! We have used Rodriguez Upholstery two different times. They reupholstered 2 six-foot outdoor couches that were becoming impossible to clean from stains and discoloration from years of being outside. Their bid to reupholster both couches was less than half of every other bid we received, and we couldn't be happier with the quality of their reupholstering work. The second time was to reupholster 3 chairs with very worn fabric that we purchased from a thrift store. After they reupholstered the chairs at a very reasonable cost, the chairs look brand new.
