My car is in the vintage category and it's original leather seats have done a good job but they were done for and the wear in them waa to the point of no more quick fixes. I had often driven by Sophie's and finally I had the chance to drop in. Kevin, owner - Sophie's son, showed me what was doable and with the tech in materials since back in the day I could go with a high grade vinyl ... it turned out amaze! I had the hugest hole in my seat! I couldn't take it anymore!!!! I have a vintage '81 corvette and the seats are made of part vinyl and part leather. Jose told me he could make the whole seat leather, and match the textures. I was nervous so I had him do one at a time..... I waited, one day, 2 days... then on the second day he called me. Sophie made custom leopard print seat covers for my 2005 Thunderbird. She had never done one before so had to make her own pattern. While I went down the street and got a mani/pedi, she made the covers and expertly installed them in less than 2 hours. She also made a shower cap cover for the console. I have recommended her to all my Thunderbird friends. I brought her Chicago Bear fabric and she used it to make covers for my husband's car. She also made some other covers for my Escape. Her covers don't look like the ones you buy at a store. They are the exact shape of your seats and have stitching details to make them look nicer. She also installs them so they look like the original seats, all tucked in and smooth. She uses the correct thread to make sure all the seat airbags deploy if needed. That's very important! I will definitely call Sophie again if I get a new car and need covers. read more

Can I write a 6 star review? I LOVE the work Sophia and her crew did for my seat. My Mercedes 300 had a ripped driver's seat for such a long time and I did not know where to take it to get it done. Based on the yelp reviews I went to Sophie's Seat Design, and they did an AMAZING JOB!!!! I can't seem to figure out how to post a photo onto this, but you cannot even tell that this is replacement leather. Let me also say, Sophia offered me a less expensive option (getting a seat cover) or this option (actually replacing the ripped leather) and she was conscientious of costs and my time. She also had the work finished earlier than she had said it would be done. It's all custom work so this is quite good. Lastly, I took the time to get to know Sophia. I came to Sophies' to have them try to fix the drivers' cloth bucket seat. The seat was very uncomfortable and the cloth of the seat was rolling on top of itself leaving many long marks which looked terrible. The car is 24 years old so I couldn't expect much. Kevin told me he'll try to fix it. As promised within 4 hours they smoothened out the creases and it looks 10 times better. Kevin told me the foam was ripped in multiple places on the side of the seat and a bar in the middle was probably making the seat uncomfortable. They repaired the foam and also added more foam to the seat. It looks and feels so much better. I couldn't ask for more from them. The price was very reasonable. The only thing I need to say about this business is: What is poor workmanship? - In simple terms, workmanship is the skill and quality put into making a product or completing a project. Workmanship is about quality; good or bad. If workers are careless or don't follow proper protocol you can end up with a finished product that lacks the quality you've anticipated. Examples of Poor Workmanship at Sophie's Seat Design - Had to bring my car back twice so they can fix things they missed. - They left grease on the windows of the car. - They left fingerprints all over the windows and the chrome in the interior of the car. - There were 3 blown fuses which means they did not disconnect the battery before starting to work on the car. - They left a front panel of the dash with screws missing in it. I spoke with Sophie on the phone about installing vinyl upholstry over my 2013 Prius. She was very kind and explanatory regarding thr process and what the proce range was going to be. I stopped at her store early on Saturday morning, and she was willing to get them done today, even though she told me on the phone it might take 1 business day. Im so glad I found her, because the other place quoted me $1500...same service I only paid $515 in cash.
