I live in an old historical part of Baltimore and came home to the lovely surprise of a thick swarm of flying ant-like insects all over the property. They were congregating around the old wood piles, so I was certain they were eating it and called up in a panic. (I had never dealt with a pest issue before and I was terrified at the thought of something possibly eating my recent purchase). So I called and he asked me to text him a few pictures. Turns out it was just citronella ants. (Generally harmless and definitely don't eat wood.) He could have easily taken me for a ride in my naivety, but he didn't. I'll take expertise, honesty, and integrity in a heartbeat. I'll also have him first in my recommendation list for others or in case I have an actual problem in the future.

On the prior visit the office sent someone to check for mouse activity and told me I had a lot of rodent activity in the attic and I needed to have the insulation replaced. Orkin had replaced the insulation and treated this space less than 6 years ago. The cost quoted was astronomical and when I questioned it, he immediately cut the cost in half. I am very suspicious that he was trying to sell me something I didn't need. I am seriously considering finding a new pest control company.

We weren't seeing any mice about 3 months ago and the service guy came for the service (unannounced) , immediately after he came for the service the mouse came back, called Orkin and they said this is supposed to happen. Also complained about the service guy coming unannounce, they said it was some kind of service glitch, the service guy came again unannounced t so I called yesterday to complain about the mice issue not changing since we started the contact and complain again about the service guy coming unannounced and they said they would have someone at the house today between 8 and 12 and the service guy was a No Show. I'm so done and disgusted with this company. Use "Fly on the wall". Pest control, they are cheaper and you will see results right away and they will text you and call you 2 days before your appointment.

However, when Troy followed up, the service completely turned around. He was extremely thorough, professional, and knowledgeable -- inspecting every area carefully, explaining what he was doing, and taking the time to answer all my questions. What really stood out was how much Troy cared about providing real value, not just a quick fix. He gave me helpful, easy-to-follow suggestions to prevent future pest issues and made sure I understood how to maintain results between visits. We filled out the form for Raven Termite and Pest and they called us with an estimate, then had someone our within days. Chris was/is our tech and he let us know that he'd put granules in the yard and spray inside and outside of the house. We had concerns as we have pets but he assured us they'd be fine. He went through and let us know to stop using the baits, so we picked them up. He scheduled to come back a week later and treat again. We were informed if we saw anything after that to call back. Today I saw 2 giant carpenter ants in an upstairs room, so I called and Chris will be back Thursday to treat. The process has been painless and easy.

After debating whether to try to go at it with a wasp killing spray, we decided that this job was beyond us. Because it was a Saturday and their office was closed, we left our contact info on All Star's website. Much to my surprise, Abdul, the company owner, called me very shortly thereafter! When I explained the problem, he deemed it an emergency and offered to come to our home the following day, Sunday. He also told us exactly what it would cost (extremely reasonable). He called us again Sunday morning with an approximate time of arrival. His kept us updated by text narrowing down the exact time. He arrived "dressed for battle" in protective gear. He treated the nest several times, then waited for the hornets to expire. He was at our home for about 45 minutes. He removed the huge nest, bagged it, and took it away with him. After being pretty much held captive and not able to be in our front yard for days, this was a huge relief. I cannot say enough good things about Abdul and the service he provided. He was so knowledgeable and very friendly and personable. He explained that his practices are based on his background in biology and are environmentally friendly. We are considering signing up for a yearly contract with All Star. We have been plagued with ants entering our home over the years, as well as mice. Abdul assured us that he would handle these as needed, as well as provide termite inspections with a yearly contract. It took All Stars 2 visits and the mice are gone. Just had a 3 month follow up and still no mice. Technician Arsene Wkouayep is outstanding, very thorough and even removed 2 wasp nests for us. I whole heartily recommend All Star, particularly Arsene.
