No worries I walked down to Broadway and was in an out within 5 minutes at Soreiku Wine & Liquor Shop (387 Broadway for those wondering). He was swamped and only had one other person on staff. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Williamsburg and this quickly became our favorite wine/liquor store in the area. The space is pretty huge compared to most in the area and they have liquor, wine, seltzers and even gift sets of alcohol. The owner Anetta is super sweet and knowledgeable. She was able to recommend a bunch of great wines for a great price that we really enjoyed. Bonus - they even have wine tastings on the weekends so they'll let you sample as you walk around the store jamming out to the fun 80's pop! It was an amazing experience working with Annetta to craft our cocktail list/drink menu for our wedding. Our caterer offered a BYOB bar so we worked with her to craft the entire bar menu. She offered us an amazing consultation during which we were able to sample various options and bounce ideas back and forth in terms of volume and specific purchases. More importantly she was incredibly flexible and patient as my wife and I changed our minds on the specifics of both as we got closer to the wedding. We stopped by yesterday evening around 6:30 in the rain and everyone was surprised to see him. Why? Because he was late. "You're late...what happened? We had your chair all ready for you!" Sidebar: My father has had some issues with his legs and feet and they go numb randomly. He takes two trains from Bushwick to this liquor store when he could easily walk around the corner and walk maybe 3 short blocks away but he likes to see his friends at Roebling and to say hi to Anita. Selection-wise, there is a little bit of everything for every kind of taste. There are familiar wines and liquors but some obscure brands also. My father also tells me that there are usually tastings on Saturdays but not by the time that we got there maybe because we were late :-) and possibly because it was 2 days before Christmas. Stop by Roebling. You'll definitely find something that you were going to get but I guarantee that you'll find something that you weren't even thinking of. read more

Hopping off the B44 bus at Roebling and Broadway to hit up my friend's dinner party, my BF and I planned to pick up booze at D.O.C. Knowing the bourbon there is way overpriced, we popped into the "hey we've never noticed this place before" Roebling Liquors just to check prices. Expecting bulletproof glass embedded under years of neglected grime, we instead walked into a bright and clean boozy lala land! Prancing through the isles of every wine and liquor we could dream of, we danced out of there with a $40 bottle of Basil Hayden (a good $10 less then near by shops) and 2 $5 bottles of getting drunk wine. This place is remarkable for its competitive prices and convenient location just a few blocks away from the JMZ at Marcy Ave on the South Side of Williamsburg. The staff is knowledgeable and is happy to help and make recommendations (even offering the occasional sample). The only negatives are that the credit card minimum is $30 and I guess there's slightly less sophistication in the decor and ambiance than you'd see in the Northside of Williamsburg, but I think the savings more than compensate for that aspect.
