We happened to catch Roger Rabbits just after Toon Town had reopened after the fireworks and even though the sign said 10 minutes we were able to walk right through the que and get on. Such a fun ride. We tried spinning our car around but I think it pretty much spun in its own. So much to look at and the ride is fairly long. I felt a little dizzy towards the end but not too bad. This one takes Disney's classic dark ride recipe and adds in a teacup-esque element that allows you to rotate your car around as you move through so that each time through is a unique experience. Seeing Roger Rabbit as a ride was a real trip. It's one of Disney's lesser known movies, especially for the youngest generation, but it's such a great one with some clever, kooky and creative characters, impressive animation and an exciting plot! Dare I say this was the first time live action and animation met on screen? Yes. I'll say it even if it may not be accurate because it's likely true for many of us. It's Wright also develops a pretty significant weight because it's very popular but it's also absolutely worth writing, but probably only once. See it it's fun and there's a lot going on around you especially as you spin around in the car, but you can really catch it all on the first go through and since it is just a dark ride, I'm unless you are a super fan of the movie this one won't knock your socks off. Still, the animatronics are top notch. The theme is incredibly fun and immersive and it is still 100% Disney magic so please make sure to make this part of your trip. read more

This used to be one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. I have been riding this since the first year it opened. I know times have changed but this ride has been changed for the worst. First, Jessica Rabbit was changed into a detective a few years ago. Basically, imagineers put an overcoat on her. Lame. Secondly, now the guest is no longer in control of the spinning. What used to be a whimsical ride is now torture. It tuelrns randomly as we move. Most rooms we enter scenes backwards and cannot see the actual scene. It's been a long time since I had gone on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. The queue can be weirdly long so only chance it if it's 25 minutes or less. The car can spin and it sort of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland and Mr. Toad's Wild ride. The theming is a bit dark considering Roger Rabbit is not exactly a kid's movie. I did watch it as a kid and loved the integration of live action and cartoons but again the themes are a bit mature for Toon Town. It is something to do in Toon Town if you're around. The cars actually spin like the Tea Cups and Buzz Lightyear Blasters. You're trying to solve a mystery of the missing toons. Don't get the mystery Dip on you! When the wait for Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railroad is long, this is a nice alternative. Check it out if you've never been. read more

Even the line going to the ride is in the dark most of the time, except for "street lights". Very moody. This ride is generally has not been on my radar in the past until recently. I think the reason why it has resurrected itself on my itineraries now is because of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad which happens to be one of my favorite rides in the park. There really are only three rides in Toontown and this is one of them. In the last couple of visits, I've actually ridden this ride each time I've come to the park and I have found a new appreciation for it. It's similar to the Fantasyland rides where it depicts the movie in ride form. It's sort of an upgrade compared to the fantasyland rides though because it combines the tea cups ride with the Fantasyland rides. And what I mean by that you can spin your car the whole time throughout the ride. I think what I enjoy most about this is the set design as you walk through the line which then it continues in the ride itself. If you're a fan of set design and architecture then I would say take this ride for a spin, literally, and enjoy the imagination that Disney portrays and all that it does. read more

The wait time for this ride at 11:30pm is only 5 minutes! It could had been less if we didn't have to go through a big maze of a line to get to the front. Most of the wait was walking through the attraction and all the time fill they loop in as back story. The cars fit about 2 people each and they go through the attraction in pairs . There were five of us so I rode alone. It's interesting because the way the ride cycles you have the ride to yourselves and your group of 4 . Since I was #5 I went through alone . You sit in a taxicab and spin around through Toontown. What's not to like about that? :) The ride is pretty short. It can be a bit uncomfortable with some of the turns and spins- a bit jerky like in motion. But nothing too aggressive. Still family friendly and good for all ages. Anyone could ride this without a problem. If it's a long wait to get on this ride- then it doesn't seem worth it for adults. But for kids, then it's probably worth the wait. Lots of fun with all the colors and music. It is a lot of fun. Just doesn't last long. And is a very simple ride. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin is an awesome dark ride! Looking back, Roger Rabbit is a pretty nutty movie...and kind of adult-ish so it's funny to me it's in Toontown! It does have it's animation though and the plot of the ride directly connects it to Toontown, so I suppose it fits. You're in a runaway cab racing through town to try to save Toontown on Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin! If you get dizzy, this is not the ride for you. The spin in the name is legit, clocking in at 3 minutes and 30 seconds you are able to spin your car 360 degrees around. If you've seen the movie, you won't find Eddie or Judge Doom. Frankly, I didn't like the Eddie character and Judge Doom did his job scaring the crap out of me as a toddler. So I'm good with neither of them being a part of it, lol! What does the future look like for this ride with the re-imagining of Mickey's Toontown? That remains to be seen...but hopefully we'll still see it in existence when that section of Disneyland reopens in 2023! For now, it's still listed on their website as simply being 'Temporarily Unavailable'. read more

Okay, let me first start off by saying Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of my favorite movies of all times. There is nothing about it I don't love. That's led to a bit of a collectors obsession over the years with books, statues, and various trinkets and clothes inspired by the movie. The wife and I were even a Judge Doom / Jessica Rabbit duo for Halloween one year. This, as a result, has always been one of my favorite rides at Disneyland. When it was shut down for a update I was optimistic. I was grateful that a ride based on such a (now) old movie was not being removed for one of the trendier new Disney projects. When I read that Disney was revamping it to be more - I don't know, less authentic I guess? It kind of sucked. Everything in the ride follows the movie storyline reliably but somehow, covering Jessica Rabbit in a trench coat (I suppose as to not offend some easily offended crazy person) it kind of annoyed me. Not everything needs to be sanitized and reinvented to coddle to the 1% of people who are so hypersensitive as to be worried that Jessica has a fitted dress. read more

This is a fun ride to mess with your partner if they are sitting in it with you by spinning. The wait for this ride was about like 10 minutes but it's worth it because it's a fun ride. They also have stuff for you to look at while waiting in line, so it helps make the time fly by. There are certain part in the line where you can get a blast from the AC so it feels really nice if you been sweating outside. The ride didn't feel like it was long but it is still entertaining. My fiancée like the ride so that's what matters to me. Kids usually love this ride since I saw a lot of them just being excited waiting in line. read more

Studies show that children "toon" out what they don't understand but there are a lot of screams and crazy faces and dizzy movements in shadows and strange sounds that the small visitors we brought found frightening (Ages 6 and 8) You may want to avoid this ride if you have a child who is sensitive about loud sudden noise and creepy things. Roger Rabbit is a childhood classic of mine. So naturally, I grew up riding this ride and LOVING it. Exploring Toon Town from Rogers taxi is just the perfect way to step into this cartoon car craze. The crazy spins, bright colors, and zany characters make for quite the fun filled ride. However, I never realized until now how scary the ride is for small kids. My toddler hates this ride, sadly. The line for the ride is packed with fun things to look at or interact with which is cool. I definitely suggest watching the movie again to fully appreciate how great they did on the movie side of this ride. So if you're looking for that fun ride down memory lane, hop in your taxi car and join Roger for the craziest ride thru toon town. This ride is located on the right side upon entering Toontown. There's all sorts of fun things to look at while in line and on the ride. Riders have the option of grabbing the wheel to spin the car or letting it run its course on the track. Each car fits two adults comfortably. However, I felt that spinning for this ride made me miss a lot of the stuff that was going on during the ride. I've been waiting for this to open for a long time and I'm very disappointed. It's hard to see most of the props, there's not nearly enough Jessica or Roger and it's obvious they threw in a bunch of leftover props from other rides that do not belong, like some stuff that looks like it belonged in Winnie The Pooh or Small World. It just did not feel like the movie at all. In addition the track was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable feeling. The ride goes backwards most of the time unless you steer, making you miss most of the "show". Awful. I can't believe they couldn't do better than this after such a long shutdown. read more

What a disappointment!!! I am currently in line of the Roger Rabbit ride with my 3 yr old grand-baby when she asks me what is in the baby Herman's hand. I am speaking of the animated baby sitting in the stroller, branding a large cigar. I know it's not a baby, the adults around me know it's not a baby, but she's three. As I am forced to lie to her and say it's a burnt carrot, I think to myself, what a disgraceful message to display in front of so many innocent minds. This is kind of a weird ride concept. You're basically in a teacup ride where the object is to spin the wheel harder to get your car to spin faster, but then you'll have a hard time looking at your surroundings which should be the main purpose of the ride. Spinning is indeed optional. Perhaps it's trying to appeal to two different groups of kids, younger kids that just want to watch the scenery and older kids that want to spin as fast as possible. My daughter doesn't know who Roger Rabbit is, but always asks to jump onto this ride whenever we're at Disneyland visiting Mickey's Toontown. Sadly this attraction is quite often closed due to repairs, so we don't get the opportunity to ride it as often as we are in Disneyland. After winding through a line wrapping around through the dark alleys of Toontown, you arrive at the boarding area where you board a cute taxi cab that whisks you off from the garage straight into a puddle, which causes the vehicle to come "alive" as you spin your way through the ride seeing familiar characters from the movie such as Jessica Rabbit and Baby Herman. Many people have missed this attraction tucked away in the far corner of Mickey's Toontown. It's worth the try if you've never done it before. Definitely better for the younger tots than other dark attractions located in Fantasyland. read more

Just kidding you probably would. Located close to where you can hear explosive sounds, Roger Rabbit has a 15 minute wait (which is a good amount considering we are in Toon Town..). What happens when you get in the ride? You explore. You get to control your destiny by having a turn wheel on your car, where basically you turn your car. So if you cannot handle that, skiparino. If you have a Disneyland pass, this is something you might wanna ride once in a while :P Otherwise, I'd go for greener pastures and skip getting a fastpass. FastPass: Yes Sick drops: 0/10. There was no need to go visit the Tea Cup ride anymore. I got my full in of spinning ride. I think he spun the wheel so hard that he possibly broke it. There was lots of Audio-Animatronics. I have had almost nothing but bad experiences on this ride. I typically don't like burning a FastPass on this ride so I use the standby line. Unfortunately, they have not managed the line well the last times I have visited, giving too much precedence to FastPass riders. The last few times I entered when the sign said 15 minutes but the line took 45 minutes to an hour, not due to a long line, but due to the line moving glacially slow. You could be standing in the same place for up to 5 minutes without moving. I would often see people climbing over obstacles inside the building to bail out of the line. After the maddening line, you get on a ride that people have compared to the Mad Hatter tea cups because you can spin the car. The big problem is that it takes a lot of force to spin the car and the ride sometimes forces the car to turn in the opposite direction. If you are attempting to turn the car in the opposite direction when this occurs it can really hurt your arms and it makes the ride jerky. I have given up trying to manually rotate the car. At a minimum, Disney should really do a better job of monitoring the line to ensure the standby line progresses at a reasonable speed. read more

I LOVE "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" - the mixture of live action and animation still entertains me to this day. Plus, Jessica Rabbit = HOT DAMN!!! Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin surprisingly has a long line of riders (in fact, the queue was 30 minutes when we went; that was the longest we had to wait in line for any attraction that day). If anything, you'll be entertained while waiting, because you'll be passing through the back alleys of Toontown (try knocking on the door to the Ink and Paint Club and watch the bouncer slide the window open, or look through the window of Baby Herman's pad). Once you get into the cab, prepare to start spinning! During the ride, you'll see various characters like Roger, Jessica, and the weasels, but surprisingly no Judge Doom or Eddie. While you can control how fast your cab spins, for some reason, the wheel on ours wasn't responding. Still, going through the scenes was fun... I just wish the ride was a bit longer in proportion to the wait in line. read more
