We went out for date night and throughly enjoyed our experience at Roma Hula. It was fun to enter through the secret entry, regulars will take a photo for you as you enter. The food & drinks were great. We started with 2 cocktails the EL Narco, twist on a margarita mae with Cimarron Blanco, Xicala Joven, BroVo Uncharted, Allspice, Ancho Reyes, Pineapple Amaro, Lime. And the GREEN APPLE PISCO SOUR made with Pisco, Cocchi Americano, Orgeat, Green Apple, Lamon, Golden Green Apple. The meals are served tapas style easily shareable, but you may not want to. We first got the SMOKY SPICY TUNA ROLL. The presentation was GREAT!!! It has Tuna Tartare, Seared Akami, Spicy Mayo, Cucumbers, Togarashi, Smoked Dome which is also Available Smoke Free. The BIRRIA EGG ROLLS followed these were our favorite!!! Made with Slow Roasted Beef, Guate Censoreme, Oaxaca Cheese, Onion, Cilentro, Lime Next came the CHAR SUI PORK FRIED RICE made with Charred Pork Belly, Fried Egg, Ginger, Garlic, Shiitake, Chili Flakes, Soy Sauce, Scallions. Finally we got the DRUNKEN NOODLES, we added Chicken. Made with Wide Rice Noodles, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Egg, Onion, Garlic, Fresno Chilis. Over all our favorites were the Birria Egg Rolls, Char Sui Pork Fried Rice and Smoky Spicy Tina Roll. The prices are a bit hirer from what you may pay elsewhere, but you can't beat the presentation and eclectic ambiance. If you are looking for an interesting evening out give this place a try. It was recommended to make reservations, glad we did on a Saturday evening, as it started to get busy especially the adjacent restaurant, had live music getting ready to hit the stage.
This was a very unique experience for me since I usually don't go to speakeasy's let alone have a full course meal at one. The entrance was phenomenal and such a cool experience (won't spoil it but definitely go to check it out). We ordered a LOT of food- crispy rice, kimchi butter edamame, both of the baos, soup dumplings, salmon roll, pork belly fried rice, and ramen. Everything except for the ramen was absolutely delicious and the presentation was appetizing. The ramen was a huge disappoint, lackluster broth, clumpy noodles, and bacon for pork belly which was an interesting choice (understandably this is a modern Asian fusion so didn't mind it). Nonetheless, the drinks and the rest of the food were absolutely delicious and we had a great server who just made the experience 10x better and worth coming back to. The ambiance is dim but makes you feel transported to a different universe. It's dark and gothy yet still evoke a familiar feeling. This was a great experience and I would come back for a few apps and a drink or two!
Came for happy hour. Nice atmosphere, great food and drinks. Bartender was friendly. I like that it is hidden and that you can enter by sitting on the spinning chairs or just walking in around the corner. The aesthetic of the place was pretty cool. I would recommend coming here.
This speakeasy within a restaurant, Asian fusion tiki lounge is a whole vibe. There's a side entrance, through the restaurant, or if you want a bit more flair, take a seat, and let the wall spin you around into the space. So incredibly cool. The decor is over the top, the pink lighting is fantastic, and the leopard print on the bar, and the menus, is just fun. We sat down at the bar, so we could check out the happy hour drinks, and food specials, and were not disappointed. The bar seats are large, comfortable, and plentiful. The bartenders are great, super friendly, attentive, as are the servers who brought our food; and also checked in on us. We tried many things on the menu, from drinks to food, and everything was delicious. I started with a penichillin, a riff on the penicillin that was very tasty. I also had the old fashioned, with chai flavoring in it (well balanced, great depth of flavor), and the lychee martini (delicious, not sweet). On to the food. We started with the cucumbers, which are deliciously marinated, with great flavor. Then the kimchi edamame, which was a great riff on traditional edamame, great umami flavor, and some spice (but not overly so). Next the bao buns arrived, I had the pork belly bao, which was outstanding, generously portioned, and had some coleslaw that added even more flavor. Then the bang bang shrimp arrived, and this was one of my favorite things we ate - crispy, and bit of spice. The crab fried rice was exceptional, generously portioned with crab, and mushrooms in it. So good! We likely over ordered, as we had a lot of leftover food, but we really, really enjoyed it! Will absolutely be back when in the area again!
Awesome little tiki speakeasy inside Voodoo Bayou. Since we got there the moment it opened, we were the only customers. So, the service was great! Haha The drinks are very uniquely hand crafted and worth the price. If you're in the area, def check it out.
Love the speakeasy vibe. We ate in front and then went for drinks. Nice Asian vibe and tiki adjacent. Had the freaky franky and did enjoy!! Great liquor selection and love how you enter !!!!
Had our first visit here and we'll definitely be back again really soon! Ashley G was wonderful and really attentive our entire visit. We had a lot of questions about different menu options and concerns about our allergies. She was very careful about ensuring that our food selections met our dietary needs and offered up suggestions of alternatives when needed. She also helped me to select a wine and offered me two different tasting options based on the kinds that I usually order. The atmosphere is super fun and the decoration is themed for a tiki room / speakeasy vibe. The chairs are made of leopard print and there are some animal themes throughout, notably the carpeted areas. I opted for the truffle edamame and the Royal roll, both were absolutely wonderful and I would order them again. Overall: A+ We've had this place bookmarked for a while and I'm super glad we finally got the opportunity to go here and we'll be back for sure!
If you're looking for an intimate date night or cute girls night, then Roka Hula is for you. It is a cute speakeasy located inside Voodoo Bayou. In order to enter this beautiful establishment, you must sit in the two chairs on the wall while it spins you into another realm. The ambiance was literally to die for ! It was decorated exceptionally well and the vibes were vibing !! Our waitress was very welcoming and knowledgeable about her drink craft. She gave suggestions upon request and explained the reasoning behind each column of the drink menu. I ordered the kinky kitty which was very tasty. my friend order the el narco and the design along with side piece blew my mind ! For my entree, I ordered the Maine lobster sushi roll and my friend got the pork belly baos. Everything was a 10/10 !!!! I would definitely return to order the Maine lobster roll again. Reservations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED due to the intimacy of the bar.
This place is everything that I am all about. I like the creative mishmash of everything from the cheetah print everywhere on the carpet, chairs, bar top, walls, menu to the colorful lights and plants. And to top it off the waterfall was the best part, hearing that water trickling down. Forget about the cool moving roundabout chairs to get in the place Drinks were on fire and service was prompt. Everything I can ask for in a swanky lounge. Definitely want to try some of their dimsum items They were out of the go go devil drink which was on the top of my list to try. The monkey business had a yummy banana flavor and the sweet honeydew drink were on the favs, followed by the balanced hell boy and freaky Franky - too tart for me There's no signage but you can find it inside, once you go in, by the entrance, of the Voodoo Bayou restaurant on the right. You can go through the switching walls with the cheetah, seats and roses background but you can also walk a little bit down and go through the hallways entrance - less dramatic but nice with the waterfall by that entrance
Fantastic for celebrations or just to grab a bite. Incredibly fun atmosphere & a tasteful menu of sexy drinks, finger foods, & main courses. Love their fusion style of Latin mixed with Asian vibes. Very rememberable dinning experience. Will be back soon.
If I could give this place 2,000 stars, I would! Great atmosphere, and even better food and drinks! They also offer a great happy hour by the bar.
Their drinks were incredible! Service was excellent! Their lobster sushi was incredibly tasty! The ambiance was super gorgeous and intimate, excellent for a date or girls night out!
Let me start off by saying this is a cute place for photo ops! I went on a Saturday night and it was very packed. I highly recommend that you make reservations. Our server was very nice and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. The food and drinks were very good. I got the pork belly fried rice which was soooo good with plenty of rice! Overall this is a great speakeasy for a girls night or romantic date. I highly recommend and a will be returning.
I've had Roka Hula on my list to try since they opened a couple years ago, and I finally made it. My friend and I stopped in for a late dinner after going to the theme parks, and we had such a good time! It's a hidden Asian-inspired tiki speakeasy located inside of Voodoo Bayou. You access it through a secret entrance where you sit down in fancy chairs and then the wall opened and spins you around into a separate dining area and bar. So fun! The food & cocktails also live up to the hype which is a relief -- this isn't just a gimmicky experience. Everything we had was delish! We started with the Saigon Suzy dirty martini (vodka, cocchi, smoked shoyu, yuzu ponzu, devil horn pepper, and olives) and the Bump & Grind espresso martini (tequila, coffee liquor, chai demerara, and chocolate). Both packed a punch and were very tasty. For food, we shared the hamachi crudo, the char sui pork bowl, and the spicy tuna roll - smoked (yellowfin tuna, cucumber, avocado, rice cracker, and mango habanero). The char sui was huge had a very generous portion of pork belly. I'm super picky about pork belly and this was some of the best I've had -- so tender and buttery! I also really enjoyed the spicy tuna roll and requested the smoke dome which they can do to any sushi roll. We sat at the bar and the service was 10/10 even with it being close to closing time. We had a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

While exploring the untamed jungles of Dr. Phillips, I heard an unfamiliar rhythm echoing through the trees. Guided by the distant sound of hip-hop and the aroma of rum, I discovered a hidden passage inside Voodoo Bayou. Beyond it waited Roka Hula, a hidden upscale tiki bar glowing in the darkness. The ambiance is fantastic. The colorful retro lighting feels like Miami Vice somehow became stranded on a tropical island and decided to open a tiki lounge. It is moody, intimate, stylish, and immersive without relying solely on traditional tiki décor. The food is excellent, with a modern Asian menu featuring shareable plates and sushi. The cocktails are well presented, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. They can be expensive, but the quality of the drinks and the overall experience make it feel worthwhile. They also offer a weekday happy hour at the bar, which may help fellow explorers protect some of their treasure. My only complaint is the music. During our visit, Roka Hula played the same music heard in the adjoining restaurant. The hip-hop was not unpleasant, it was, after all, what led me through the jungle, but some classic exotica, surf, or traditional tiki music would have completed the atmosphere perfectly. After my third cocktail, the torches flickered and the ancient spirit Mombatu appeared before me. He promised unlimited tropical drinks in exchange for temporary possession of my body. Unfortunately, neither of us carefully reviewed the terms. I awoke the following morning wearing a postal uniform and sorting packages in an Orlando mail facility. Mombatu now forces me to work five days a week so that every paycheck can be used to support our increasingly expensive tiki-drink habit. I have attempted to resist, but whenever I pass Sand Lake Road, he seizes control of my hands and makes another reservation. Roka Hula is an excellent hidden destination for creative drinks, delicious food, and a dark, stylish atmosphere. Make a reservation, arrive hungry, and surrender yourself to the experience--figuratively, if possible. Five stars. If a package arrives smelling of rum and passion fruit, do not open it. Was looking for a nice speakeasy and this one was so cute! The decorations was nice the music was good and the dim sum was delicious! We got the wagyu beef ones and of my gosh! And we had some drinks which were as well great! Overall a nice place to grab a drink and relax . Our server was very kind and helpful with options to pick from. read more
Roka Hula is an incredible addition to the area. First, getting a reservation is quite difficult, but were able to snag a couple seats at the bar by asking at the counter. Luckily, it was easy for us, and I hope for you too. I can't wait to go back and try more drinks. The two we got were strong, but flavor forward with some intense differentiators. Sitting at the bar we were able to chat with other patrons and the bartender who was easily asking questions and suggesting drinks for people. I can't wait to go back and try the food. read more
This was a really nice speakeasy spot. I enjoyed it a lot. I love the entrance. The entrance is amazing not so many food options but it's a speakeasy so the drinks were what we came for. They were not bad. The service was excellent our waitress. Let us know how things tasted to her liking and she recommended some really good things for us to try. Would definitely go here again with the group of friends or family. read more
I'm so delayed in sharing this review, but I absolutely loved Roka Hula and I have been there at least two more times since my first visit. The small and intimate spot is designed as a speakeasy with a super fun secret entrance. My absolute favorite here is the banana old-fashioned. That said, it is a tiki bar and I do find it worth noting that if you have an allergy to cinnamon, this is not the place for you. The last time I was there, we sat next to a couple that ordered a drink with cinnamon on it and the table side presentation of that drink and with myself and my dining partner being essentially coated in a layer of cinnamon. It immediately made me think of my friend's husband that would've been in a lot of trouble in that situation. And honestly, it made me feel a certain way about the safety of people with an allergy to cinnamon. Hopefully they just know not to go into Tiki bars? I mentioned it to the manager and I didn't feel he took it seriously which is actually the only reason I'm taking it down to a four star because of that. All of the food is small plate style and is absolutely delicious! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and I absolutely love this place. read more
Piggybacking to my Voodoo Bayou review, Roka Hula is the speakeasy part. We went here for drinks after eating at Voodoo. The entry experience is cool, sitting on the thrown/chairs and you slowly spin into the speakeasy. It is a little odd as you enter as people are sitting at tables eating but enjoy the moment (you do have the option to walk around, but where's the fun in that?) The service and drinks are amazing. The drinks are super fun and themed. Again slightly pricey, so not a regular thing for me; but definitely a cool place and great service if you're looking to try something different. We have heard the food is good, less options than in Voodoo just fyi. read more

Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food 3/5 Roka Hula is more of an experience. I've been twice so far and it was a fun time however the food can be hit or miss. Pork Belly Rice bowl was solid, it was a bit on the sweeter side. The bao buns were very good and filling. The tuna tartare is their prize item. The sushi rolls were regular and did not stand out. They changed their cocktail menu but I preferred the previous menu. The cocktails are definitely for sweeter palates even when you don't expect them to be. The venue is filled with instagram worthy photo opportunities. Definitely worth a try. read more

Roka Hula is one of the coolest speakeasies and cocktail bars I have been to in Orlando! You enter through Voodoo Bayou, and then you can sit in two chairs that rotate on a platform and turn you into the speakeasy! Roka Hula's ambiance was a 10/10- eclectic lights covered the ceiling, cheetah print decked out the carpet and bar, and the music was great. The bartender was hilarious and did an awesome job explaining some of the drinks in the menu. The drinks are on the pricey side, but I think they were worth it. I grabbed a Frankenstein, which is a twist on the classic zombie, and yes it was set on fire. The presentation on all of the drinks were incredible, and I was super impressed that they make a lot of syrups and components of the drinks in house. Awesome new speak easy tiki spot in Dr Phillips/Orlando area As a huge tiki fan, I find myself often having to travel a ways north of the area to find great tiki spots, so having one here is very welcomed. Situated within Voodoo Bayou (another great restaurant/bar), you enter through a rotating wall into an area with quite a few tables and ample bar seating. The decor and lighting are very welcoming and provide for a great atmosphere to enjoy some food and drinks. The food in here is completely different from the other restaurant, with more Polynesian/Asian offerings. The pork belly rice bowl is one of my favorites, being delicious and a great portion as well. There's also a great range of cocktails that are both unique and tasty. I would like to see an expansion to their drink menu in the future though, as it features a smaller menu and I feel it could offer more. read more
Great experience! What the whole experience! Went with a couple of friends and we tried a couple of things. For food, we did the edamame, 2 rolled (branzino, rainbow) and tuna tartare. For the edamame, for dairy free - remove parm and ask for it to be cooked without the butter (wish they had signs on their menus...). The Branzino roll was decent, a bit more on the fishy side for me but it was fresh and light. The rainbow roll was also decent, I was the menu was a little more descriptive.. I also got a couple of the cocktails cause that's what they are known for right?! I got the colada and also the freaky franky and they were both on the sweeter sides but still very tasty and has the experience to it. I also tried the Tea-Ki time which was also an experience! The tea concoction had a bunch of stuff but it was tasty tea. Environment This has a secret entrance, reservations recommended. This was VERY VERY VERY thoroughly decorated! A lot of thoughts put into this. Very themed. There quite a number of seats inside. Niceness of the staff Very nice staff to do the experiences, knowing people would want to take photos etc. Also since everything is tapas style, they took orders and brought orders as you order. Dollar IT WAS EXPENSIVE. For me, this is not a regular casual outing spot, it is more of a special occasion outing for me. This Is A Modern Asian Tiki Bar Located In Dr. Philips. Roka Hula Offers A Provocative Journey Into A Hidden World Of Exotic Cocktails And Exquisite Elevated Dishes. We made a reservation & came after dinner for drinks to close out celebrating my husbands birthday . The drinks were phenomenal & most come with a cute show and/or decoration! Went here for after-dinner drinks to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were a group of 9 on a Saturday night. We made reservations which was a good call. It can get pretty busy and the space isn't large. We had the choice of entering through the special chairs or walking through a side door. Since there were so many of us, we let the birthday girl go for a ride and the rest of us walked through the door. They have a special cocktail menu or you can order whatever you want. Their specialty cocktails looked fun and some of them came in cute glasses. I will say that the drinks are pricey. We did not eat here. I did look at the menu and was intrigued. I'd like to go back and try the food. This isn't the type of spot I'd come to all the time, but it's good when you want something new or different. read more

The ambiance was everything. We started in the lobby chairs and were welcomed into a stunning speakeasy that instantly set the mood. The service was top tier--attentive without being overbearing. Loved everything about this place, from the decor to the food down to the carpet! Me and my bestie shared all of our food tapas style and was surprised with each bite. The ginger tuna crispy rice had the perfect mix of savory, saucy, and crunchy! I loveeee dimsum so i will say my expectation for the pork & shrimp dumpling was high..I thought they were okay personally. The flavor wasn't all there for me. The of the show was the pork belly fried rice! You can tell they marinated the pork belly prior. It had a rich savory and sweet flavor that paired perfectly with the fluffy fried rice. The decor was sooooo perfect all around. The cheetah carpet was my favorite small detail. We got the same cocktail which we thought was just adorable with the gold coating on the star fruit. Another hidden gem. I didn't even know that this place ever existed nor that I really hear about it. I was just drove by it and didn't think much of it. But me and a partner went in here. We looked at the menu and fell in love so we decided to order drinks and food. She decided to order the baos based off her prognosis, it must have been delicious. I decided to go with the Branzino sushi and I was in heaven. If I have anything negative to say about this restaurant is that it is a bit overpriced. Otherwise the food is delicious and decor is really something that will blow you away. The waiter that we had her name was taiës and she was truly full of smiles and full of life, and truly explained the menu extremely well. We were excited before we even started ordering. Once the conversation ended in the food started coming to the table, we devoured it in a matter of 30 minutes. Again, absolutely delicious with the fact that one of my drinks were set on fire and comes with a little bit of cinnamon on top before it served. It was truly lovely to see and I really really really like this place. I'm sure I'll be back in about a couple couple of months or so in order to try the second half of this restaurant. It's 2 restaurants in one btw. Ps. I forgot one thing, so that Pablo Escobar drink, which is called "el narco" comes with $100 bill attached to it also with a small bag that's supposed to represent cocaine super super thoughtful and definitely was a laugh jerker for me and my partner. Second time around was a charm! We had Faith as our server and she was great. This time I had the go-go devil cocktail, which was in the sweeter side, but so refreshing and enjoyable. The Maine lobster roll is a must; the blend of flavors was amazing and leaves you wanting more! I want to say I enjoyed the pork belly fried rice; although I found certain bites to be a bit too saltier than others, the ones that weren't salty were definitely good bites lol! read more

Cheetah vibes meets tropical! Speakeasy bar located inside Voodoo Bayou! The bar tenders are awesome- providing quick and great service! The drinks here have impeccable presentation! The El Narco has a fun prop that comes with the drink (see picture), but the drinks are a bit pricey. I have tried a few apps here such as the truffle parmesan edamame which was bland and again I think overpriced as well as the pork goyza They do have a membership program which is offered through Voodoo Bayou they offers great rewards, perks and member only events! read more

We popped in here randomly one night after dining at Voodoo Bayou. We didn't have a reservation so we weren't expecting to be able to try it but still wanted to peak in. Luckily there was some standing room at the bar and we ordered some drinks and waited for a bar stool to open up. Everyone was so friendly and the drinks were unique and tasty. My husband got the Devil's Grin and really enjoyed it and I got the Freaky Franky and also enjoyed it. I definitely want to come back and eat. It was so cute in there, I loved how it was decorated! read more
