We went out for date night and throughly enjoyed our experience at Roma Hula. It was fun to enter through the secret entry, regulars will take a photo for you as you enter. The food & drinks were great. We started with 2 cocktails the EL Narco, twist on a margarita mae with Cimarron Blanco, Xicala Joven, BroVo Uncharted, Allspice, Ancho Reyes, Pineapple Amaro, Lime. And the GREEN APPLE PISCO SOUR made with Pisco, Cocchi Americano, Orgeat, Green Apple, Lamon, Golden Green Apple. The meals are served tapas style easily shareable, but you may not want to. We first got the SMOKY SPICY TUNA ROLL. The presentation was GREAT!!! It has Tuna Tartare, Seared Akami, Spicy Mayo, Cucumbers, Togarashi, Smoked Dome which is also Available Smoke Free. The BIRRIA EGG ROLLS followed these were our favorite!!! Made with Slow Roasted Beef, Guate Censoreme, Oaxaca Cheese, Onion, Cilentro, Lime Next came the CHAR SUI PORK FRIED RICE made with Charred Pork Belly, Fried Egg, Ginger, Garlic, Shiitake, Chili Flakes, Soy Sauce, Scallions. Finally we got the DRUNKEN NOODLES, we added Chicken. Made with Wide Rice Noodles, Baby Heirloom Tomatoes, Egg, Onion, Garlic, Fresno Chilis. Over all our favorites were the Birria Egg Rolls, Char Sui Pork Fried Rice and Smoky Spicy Tina Roll. The prices are a bit hirer from what you may pay elsewhere, but you can't beat the presentation and eclectic ambiance. If you are looking for an interesting evening out give this place a try. It was recommended to make reservations, glad we did on a Saturday evening, as it started to get busy especially the adjacent restaurant, had live music getting ready to hit the stage.
This was a very unique experience for me since I usually don't go to speakeasy's let alone have a full course meal at one. The entrance was phenomenal and such a cool experience (won't spoil it but definitely go to check it out). We ordered a LOT of food- crispy rice, kimchi butter edamame, both of the baos, soup dumplings, salmon roll, pork belly fried rice, and ramen. Everything except for the ramen was absolutely delicious and the presentation was appetizing. The ramen was a huge disappoint, lackluster broth, clumpy noodles, and bacon for pork belly which was an interesting choice (understandably this is a modern Asian fusion so didn't mind it). Nonetheless, the drinks and the rest of the food were absolutely delicious and we had a great server who just made the experience 10x better and worth coming back to. The ambiance is dim but makes you feel transported to a different universe. It's dark and gothy yet still evoke a familiar feeling. This was a great experience and I would come back for a few apps and a drink or two!
Came for happy hour. Nice atmosphere, great food and drinks. Bartender was friendly. I like that it is hidden and that you can enter by sitting on the spinning chairs or just walking in around the corner. The aesthetic of the place was pretty cool. I would recommend coming here.
This speakeasy within a restaurant, Asian fusion tiki lounge is a whole vibe. There's a side entrance, through the restaurant, or if you want a bit more flair, take a seat, and let the wall spin you around into the space. So incredibly cool. The decor is over the top, the pink lighting is fantastic, and the leopard print on the bar, and the menus, is just fun. We sat down at the bar, so we could check out the happy hour drinks, and food specials, and were not disappointed. The bar seats are large, comfortable, and plentiful. The bartenders are great, super friendly, attentive, as are the servers who brought our food; and also checked in on us. We tried many things on the menu, from drinks to food, and everything was delicious. I started with a penichillin, a riff on the penicillin that was very tasty. I also had the old fashioned, with chai flavoring in it (well balanced, great depth of flavor), and the lychee martini (delicious, not sweet). On to the food. We started with the cucumbers, which are deliciously marinated, with great flavor. Then the kimchi edamame, which was a great riff on traditional edamame, great umami flavor, and some spice (but not overly so). Next the bao buns arrived, I had the pork belly bao, which was outstanding, generously portioned, and had some coleslaw that added even more flavor. Then the bang bang shrimp arrived, and this was one of my favorite things we ate - crispy, and bit of spice. The crab fried rice was exceptional, generously portioned with crab, and mushrooms in it. So good! We likely over ordered, as we had a lot of leftover food, but we really, really enjoyed it! Will absolutely be back when in the area again!
Awesome little tiki speakeasy inside Voodoo Bayou. Since we got there the moment it opened, we were the only customers. So, the service was great! Haha The drinks are very uniquely hand crafted and worth the price. If you're in the area, def check it out.

Had our first visit here and we'll definitely be back again really soon! Ashley G was wonderful and really attentive our entire visit. We had a lot of questions about different menu options and concerns about our allergies. She was very careful about ensuring that our food selections met our dietary needs and offered up suggestions of alternatives when needed. She also helped me to select a wine and offered me two different tasting options based on the kinds that I usually order. The atmosphere is super fun and the decoration is themed for a tiki room / speakeasy vibe. The chairs are made of leopard print and there are some animal themes throughout, notably the carpeted areas. I opted for the truffle edamame and the Royal roll, both were absolutely wonderful and I would order them again. Overall: A+ We've had this place bookmarked for a while and I'm super glad we finally got the opportunity to go here and we'll be back for sure!
If you're looking for an intimate date night or cute girls night, then Roka Hula is for you. It is a cute speakeasy located inside Voodoo Bayou. In order to enter this beautiful establishment, you must sit in the two chairs on the wall while it spins you into another realm. The ambiance was literally to die for ! It was decorated exceptionally well and the vibes were vibing !! Our waitress was very welcoming and knowledgeable about her drink craft. She gave suggestions upon request and explained the reasoning behind each column of the drink menu. I ordered the kinky kitty which was very tasty. my friend order the el narco and the design along with side piece blew my mind ! For my entree, I ordered the Maine lobster sushi roll and my friend got the pork belly baos. Everything was a 10/10 !!!! I would definitely return to order the Maine lobster roll again. Reservations are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED due to the intimacy of the bar.
This place is everything that I am all about. I like the creative mishmash of everything from the cheetah print everywhere on the carpet, chairs, bar top, walls, menu to the colorful lights and plants. And to top it off the waterfall was the best part, hearing that water trickling down. Forget about the cool moving roundabout chairs to get in the place Drinks were on fire and service was prompt. Everything I can ask for in a swanky lounge. Definitely want to try some of their dimsum items They were out of the go go devil drink which was on the top of my list to try. The monkey business had a yummy banana flavor and the sweet honeydew drink were on the favs, followed by the balanced hell boy and freaky Franky - too tart for me There's no signage but you can find it inside, once you go in, by the entrance, of the Voodoo Bayou restaurant on the right. You can go through the switching walls with the cheetah, seats and roses background but you can also walk a little bit down and go through the hallways entrance - less dramatic but nice with the waterfall by that entrance
Fantastic for celebrations or just to grab a bite. Incredibly fun atmosphere & a tasteful menu of sexy drinks, finger foods, & main courses. Love their fusion style of Latin mixed with Asian vibes. Very rememberable dinning experience. Will be back soon.
If I could give this place 2,000 stars, I would! Great atmosphere, and even better food and drinks! They also offer a great happy hour by the bar.
Their drinks were incredible! Service was excellent! Their lobster sushi was incredibly tasty! The ambiance was super gorgeous and intimate, excellent for a date or girls night out!
Let me start off by saying this is a cute place for photo ops! I went on a Saturday night and it was very packed. I highly recommend that you make reservations. Our server was very nice and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. The food and drinks were very good. I got the pork belly fried rice which was soooo good with plenty of rice! Overall this is a great speakeasy for a girls night or romantic date. I highly recommend and a will be returning.

I was so excited to check another speakeasy off the list! Roka Hula has been all over Instagram so once I had the chance I just had to run over! Something to note about this place - if you want to experience the chair then you have to make a reservation. They take walk ins if there's availability at their bar, but they walk you in their side entrance. The inside is lush and decorated with skulls, animal print, and the same jeweled orbs like what you would see at Permanent Vacation. We went to the bar as we were told there was space, but when we got up there, only one seat was open so my husband stood until someone left halfway through our meal. For our drinks we ordered the go-go devil (lychee lovers, you'll want to order this), the devil's grin (old fashioned), and the tea party for two which is a stunning show with your tea! Sake, yuzu, blood orange tea, and some other great ingredients made that tea my favorite drink of the night! Now on to the food! For our appetizer we ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings which was shumai in a ginger broth. It ended up being a great pairing of flavors, but I just wanted more lol! I took the sushi route and got their rainbow roll (DELICIOUS), while my husband ordered the pork belly fried rice. I tried a few bites of his, and it was some of the better pork belly that I've had in a restaurant. The rice could've been stickier to make it easier to eat but still a yummy dish! I'm not sure that everything on the menu warrants the price tag attached to it, but you have to keep in mind that part of that price comes from the experience. I was pretty happy overall with my meal, and would go back for apps and drinks! read more
Super cool experience. Love the way you get into the speak easy inside the Voodoo Lounge. My shrimp rolls were tasty and that sauce is perfect spicy. Our server was so sweet. The decor was amazing. The only reason it's 4 out of 5 stars is because most of their drinks are all ice and they are not cheap but the little you get is tasty. We enjoyed the tea one (no ice lol). I recommend going here but make reservations! read more
Awesome! It's a word I don't think I've used in more than 1000 reviews, but Roka Hula exceeds all expectations. Visiting on their second night of business we encountered near perfection. I had assumed this would be an experience aimed at the tourist and convention business, like its associated restaurant Voodo Bayou (you check in at their reception desk), which is good, but not earthshaking. But Roka Hula is not just an experience, but also an amazing cocktail/tiki bar and a superb sushi restaurant. The first thing you notice, as with any Tiki bar, is the ambiance. From the creative entry (I won't spoil the experience) to the overall decor and vibe, this is a great space--calming, mysterious, and exciting all at once. The cocktail menu is expansive, and the three drinks I tried were all home runs. The gin and ginger Psycho Starlett and the complex and tart Saigon Suzy both went well with the sushi. And the Banana Old Fashioned (a complex mix of rums and a brulee'd banana syrup) is possibly my favorite cocktail of all time, a great way to end the meal. As expected with a Tiki bar, the wine list is very limited, but contains four interesting selections. The other star here is the sushi. I wasn't expecting much, because food at a tiki bar is usually an afterthought, or cliched. But this place is serving some of the best quality fish in town, and some of the most creative sushi. The Hamachi Tiradito and Salmon Sashimi were both excellent starters. While not inexpensive, the portions and quality justified the cost. Smoky Spicy Tuna Roll was one of the most creative sushi dishes I've had. Sure, we've all had dishes served under a smoked dome, but the hickory and apple smoke here was a whole other level. The Buffalo Beef on Weck Roll was also really creative, with tenderloin wrapped in carpaccio and coated in caraway seeds. Service provided by Thyas and the accompanying staff was perfect. I am not often this surprised by a restaurant, especially in a tourist area, but Roak Hula blew me away. read more
Smokey spicy tuna had a great presentation but it was underwhelming as a roll. The branzino on the other hand wow. Hubby really liked the buffalo beef roll. We tried the Kobe omakase and it was yummy although I'd have gone for a bit more lobster and skipped the gold. The tuna carpaccio was amazing don't skip it we could have done without the rainbow roll as well it was fine but not wow. The drinks were all on point and delicious. Staff also did a great job despite being extremely busy. This was a great date night and I would highly recommend for a night out. read more

GORGEOUS BAR! To enter, you come in to Voodoo Bayou then sit in some chairs after seeing the hostess. The wall is going to VERY VERY SLOWLY turn and boom you are in Roka Hula now :) The decor blew my mind from how perfectly set up everything is. The staff was extremely friendly and had great suggestions. I love that they have metal straws here! Personally I think the prices are outrageous here. I've been to other speakeasies with better drinks and food that cost less. My boyfriend and I got 2 drinks each and two nigiri... the total came out to $110+ (there is an automatic 18% gratuity). The best drink we had was the Bump & Grind for sure! The other 3 drinks we had were pretty average and not really worth $18-20. Maybe more like $12-15. It was a solid 3 star experience because it was super expensive for the majority of our food and bev tasting average BUT THE DECOR AND THE STAFF WERE INCREDIBLE. read more

Okay the aesthetic of this location is STUNNING. Voodoo Bayou was very cool, but stepping into Roka Hula was like entering a whole other planet. The entrance to the speakeasy is such a fun and unexpected experience. The decor is top notch. The tiki cocktails were really good - I only had one since I was driving but wanted to try out more! My friend and I shared a few dishes and I think the smoked eel roll really stole the show. The shrimp was just okay and the gyoza was what you would expect. However, the pork belly rice was also fantastic - the pork belly was super fatty and crispy. We also really liked the mochi dessert. It is definitely pricy - we collectively spent almost $200 on a few shared apps, 2 drinks, and a dessert plus tip. However it's a really fun location for a girls night, date night, or special occasion. I will definitely be back. read more

After we went to Voodoo Bayou, we decided to go to the speakeasy called Roka Hula. I loved the aesthetic of this speak easy. When we entered, we sat down and the wall turned and we were in the bar. We got a couple of drinks, which included the Freaky frank, the demon lover, and the espresso martini. The drinks were so good! I loved the fortune cookie that came with the espresso martini! Such a unique place that we stumbled upon. The ambiance was on point and service was extremely attentive. We walked up to sit at the bar and Danbrew was a fantastic bar tender who offered suggestions with amazing presentation. If you are looking for something different, this is a must stop. read more

Super cool tiki speakeasy inside Voodoo Bayou. Voodoo Bayou is on restaurant row, in the same plaza as Vines and Walgreens. Roka Hula is definitely a spot you can miss if you don't know where to look! We've been to VB a couple times and didn't know about it til we were getting ready to leave! Great cocktail list with tiki vibes and super knowledgeable staff. We didn't eat but the food we saw looked awesome! They have sushi primarily. This is a spot that you'll need a reservation for but it was easy for us to grab one last minute. Can't wait to check it out again! read more

I don't know if I can find the words to explain what a great experience I had here last night, but I'm gonna try! Roka Hula is inside of Voodoo Bayou, but GETTING inside is part of the fun. No passwords for this speakeasy, just a set of chairs on a revolving platform that spins you into the venue. Once in we were immediately greeted by our server, who explained the menu and the drinks. The drinks are all super tasty, though not overly strong, and if I had any pet peeve it would be that they use way too crushed ice, it clogs their thin metal drink straws, other than that though, everything was spot on. Some cocktails come in fun decorative glasses, some come with props, and one even got lit on fire!! The food was equally top notch. We had so much food! We ate pan fried gyoza, ginger tuna crispy rice, pork belly fried rice, foie gras nigiri, their smoky spicy tuna roll, and the best rainbow roll I've ever tried. Balls of Glory mochi donuts and Vetnamese coffee affogato were both equally amazing. Truly the best meal I've had in a while. It was expensive, but if you go out for the whole experience like we do, this was a meal worth every penny. read more
I visited the spot while dining at voodoo Bayou when they first opened we were not able to try any other drinks, but this is the perfect time we came for a nightcap and were able to try some of their signature cocktails. They are very eccentric in flavor profiles each drink takes you on a different journey, I kind of like my drink straight to the point, but if you're in a mood to be surprised and like to be excited about different flavors and your drinks, this is a perfect bar for you. The bartenders were super helpful with finding my flavor profile, and were very helpful with figuring out what we liked. I would love to come back. The place is so beautiful very jungle Hawaiian vibes, and I would also love to come back to try the sushi I heard great thing. read more

Wow wow wow! What an experience. Figured it's in tourist area so didn't think much of it but glad we made a reservation and came!!! It is inside of voodoo bayou, check in at the counter and then they will 'bring you' into the room. Won't say much more, very cool. It's not a big room but it's dark, decorated really cool! We were seated to our table. And our waitress Tay was wonderful! She explained everything and suggested we start off with the tea experience. It was very cool, get your camera ready! Drink is a little sweet to my liking but over you just have to do it once! We got the following: - hamachi tiradito, delicious 9/10 - lobster roll 9/10 - buffalo beef roll, 3/10 didn't really care for this roll, a couple of them was kinda chewy and had fat in it - cucumber salad 10/10 so good! Tofu croutons! Refreshing - unagi roll 10/10 love this flavor - Vietnamese baos 9/10, soft, excellent flavors - Vietnamese coffee affogato 10/10 so fun and so good!! We also got the freaky Frankie and psycho Starlette for drinks! Both very good. They will add 18% automatic service charge to check. Overall it's so fun and drinks and food are both excellent!! Can't wait to go back! Parking, if you go earlier there will be some parking, but they do have valet. read more

Honestly 5 stars based on service alone, we had Corey and she was so knowledgeable. Great with recommendations. The vibes of the place are exactly what we expected. Super cute but low lit and chill. Mainly went to try some drinks, but ended up with the gyoza as well. Was to die for. I got the demon lover, and was honestly a bit sweet for me (i love sweet drinks) and wasn't in love with the foam on top. If i was local i would definitely be back. Perfect spot for a first date or a girls night out! read more

Ashley was our server tonight and although we only came for a drink, she was such a sweetheart. She helped us picked drinks and checked on us moderately. The ambiance was nice. Dimly lit and tropical. We were looking forward to doing the whole sit in the chair and the wall rotate into the speakeasy, but it was broken. . I would visit again just so that I can experience it. Voodoo Bayou, which is a New Orleans Cajun inspired restaurant AND Roka Hula which is a modern asian cuisine tiki bar (a speakeasy if you will). It has a secret passage way. Entrance experience and ambiance was lively! The cocktails were unique and flavorful but, expensive. It's tough in Orlando. One of the highest priced cities for alcohol. The pork belly was cooked perfectly, soft and crisp. Would have liked to see Korean short ribs on the menu. We also had the crab roll which, was unique and hearty. All in all, we enjoyed our experience! Service was excellent and most tables are 4 tops so, invite a couple! Frankenstein monsters face sums up my thoughts on Roka Hula Greeting upon walking into Voodoo Bayou and told to have a seat where the wall rotates for entry. Waited 5-10 minutes in the seats before the hostess comes over and says "Actually we have a party ahead of you can you please get up and let them sit". Strike 1 Upon Entry you are met with a mutation of a tiki bar and I don't know.. a flower shop? Every table has individual lights where some are warm but some tables have them set to the overpowered super bright LED so those really took away from the ambiance. Strike 2 The drinks were decent but nothing super special as far as the recipes go. The drinkware they are served in was really the best thing about them. The food was pretty meh. Tuna crispy rice should actually be on crispy rice in my opinion and not on some mushy rice as was the case with my experience. The mini donuts were a saving grace for the food but not enough to make me want to come back. Strike 3 Overall 4/10 read more

The vibes at Roka Hula are top tier! It truly feels like you were transported to a completely different place. My friend and I went here for drinks after work & it was the perfect spot! The service was very speedy and our waitress was very knowledgeable & took the time to explain everything on the menu & give us suggestions. I had the Freaky Franky & the Demon Lover. The Freaky Franky packed a punch & had a great presentation! The Demon Lover was very close to a watermelon Margarita. Very fresh & light! The coolest new Tiki-bar in Orlando! Speakeasy entrance with a fresh take on tiki meets the jungle room theming, the food was fabulous (definitely get the pork belly fried rice) the drinks were excellent and the vibe was 100%. We will definitely be returning. read more

Was so excited to check out Roka Hula and it did not disappoint!! From the minute the wall turned around the atmosphere really made you feel like you were in a tropical tiki bar. The drinks were very good! The presentation of both the Tea-ki Time & Freaky Franky definitely drew us in and added to the experience. We tried a few different food options and all were delicious! Would highly recommend the Maine Lobster sushi roll! It was very fresh and tasty! The Classic Pork Belly Baos were very flavorful and the accent of the roka hula logo was a nice touch. The service was very good and overall we had a great experience. Can't wait to go back to try more! read more

Update June 2024 Place its just amazing and beautiful Service was great - 18% included in all bills Food was VERY DISAPPOINTING this time We had the king crab ( horrible, plain and tasteless) and the unagi royale - $26 for 8 pieces, it's really not worthy. I also had the mocktail "show me your tikki" and it wasn't good $90 for 2 rolls, one mocktail and one soda. Very expensive for plain food :/ read more

Loved this place. So cool how you enter the speakeasy, can't give it away. We had the tuna appetizer and I literally could have eaten just that and been happy, the crispy rice and spicy sauce made this dish perfect. We also had Pork belly fried rice and short rib gyoza. Both were very tasty. Even if you are too full try the desserts. Trust me you'll be glad you did read more

The bar was beautiful and a wonderful atmosphere. The drinks looked and tasted great. The bartender was amazing and helped us with drink and food selection. He was Super friendly and great conversation. We had the Edamame and Korean bao buns. Both were very good. The Kimchi on the bao buns was amazing. read more
