Worst customer service and worst manager. They had a special going on for shrimp for national sushi day and I asked because I'm allergic to shrimp if they could switch it to chicken and they said no I'd have to pay full price. Not to mention the last two times the coworkers were lollygagging when there was people waiting, and one of them didn't even have gloves on while bringing out food and touching fish items behind the bar. Also, there were about three times when I came home without any chopsticks, no wasabi and none of the toppings that were ordered with my sushi rolls. This place has gone downhill from the past 10 years and I've been a local and a very reliable customer, but I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down sooner than later due to the lack of customer service and cleanliness of this place not to mention their bathrooms are disgusting. Another addition to show how clean they are with their ingredients that they put in your sushi and your food. Their garden is located by trash cans, filthy dumpster area and moldy air-conditioning units behind the back of the building where people walk through consistently, throwing trash behind there as you can see in the photos below. Best part of it all is they let homeless continuously sit outside in the front at their tables (without telling them to move, leave )eating other peoples food while all of us paid local and loyal customers have to look at that person from inside! Tonight we entertained Some family meal deal at Bento off Sandlake road. This is a great deal that offers 4 of the same entrees. We all went with the Pao Pao chicken with white rice and vegetables. This is always a family favorite that we basically get at least once or twice a month. This combo also comes with salad for each member of the family and a choice of soup. It fully satisfies the dinner hunger and usually I have leftovers for the next day with great portions they provide. Their take out option is always really great and quick and easy. I was in town and craving some sushi, so this place popped up. Tucked away off the busy street, we went inside to the kiosk and the worker asked me if I had any questions. He answered my questions and even gave me some great suggestions. He was kind and attentive. I got the crunch roll with miso soup and a strawberry lychee green tea. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our order, but it was so worth it. Everything was SO tasty. AND the other worker who brought our food out was so nice. I wish I got their names bc they made the experience lovely. I personally don't love super sugary drinks, but the strawberry lychee green tea was not too sweet. Bento is a great little spot in the Dr Phillips area. The vibe is quiet and family oriented. The young lady who took my order was very helpful in explaining the menu. I ended up getting a Bento box with the General Tso shrimp. It was very tasty but I couldn't tell it was shrimp as it was soggy. Their menu has become very limited year after year. We like that it's a quick service sushi/poke restaurant that you can order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. The pao pao chicken bowl has stayed consistent over the years. We love it over white rice. It's chicken mixed with green beans, peppers, and a spicy cream sauce. The kids portion is the perfect size for myself for a meal or you can order the kids portion with a sushi roll. Their sushi menu used to be an entire page. Now the options are limited with most of the rolls consisting of some mix of shrimp tempura, cream cheese, and krab. I've always enjoyed the Florida roll the most. They do have a happy Monday-Friday. I would still have to say this place is a solid three stars. I received a virtual gift card, and two of the staff had no idea how to put it into the computer to apply it. I ordered the sushi bento again which I found some of the sushi pretty bland, and my husband tried the udon soup which he said the same. Boba tea is pretty good, but I asked to sub the honey Boba for popping boba, and they wanted to charge .75 for it so I kept the honey boba. I can get if I wanted to add extra boba, but I don't understand charging to substitute when you're taking something away. Service was a lot faster than last time, but for some reason, even though the server double checked, we asked to dine in and they put to go. We've been ordering from Bento probably for the past 4-5 years? I was having a case of the Mondays today and I was like I'm going to order some chicken katsu. The chicken has this strange toughness to it. Like is this really chicken? Have I just never had chicken this overcooked? It made me contemplate going vegan. I love bento! I have been to Bento at least four times a month for the past year and I have to say I'm a fan of the Wok Fried Rice and the Sushi Rolls the service is OK and the ambiance. The only thing i'm kind a sad. Is they still raising the prices! They are currently only offering take out, but they have outside tables so we were able to order and sit outside. Grub hub and uner eats also offer deliver. The line outside was long, but our food only took 20 min and our order was perfect and packaged well. They have so much to choose from; bowls, sushi, and bento boxes. We ordered two bento boxes: the monogolian steak box and a Sriracha garlic chicken box, and also ordered the caliente sushi. The monogolian steak was cooked well, packed with flavor and quite filling. My Sriracha chicken was spicy, but the spice wasn't overwhelming. The caliente roll was filled with crab, jalepeno, and topped with yellowtail tuna- we enjoyed it. Sad that we couldnt dine in, but glad we came. read more

This is the third year of patronage of this spot. Unfortunately they have made some changes that are not for the better. You now order at a kiosk which takes twice as long and does not include fountain drinks or military discount. The beloved Hot Lava roll is now absent the scallops because they have removed them from the menu. They also changed the sauce recipe. The dish went from a 10 to a 4.5. I was really disappointed. The fried rice was under seasoned as well. The Ambiance is still good and inviting. The service is very pleasant thanks to Larissa the server. I still have not tried the Bentos and other items so that may be a saving grace. Lastly, you can opt to skip the kiosk if you get their attention and they will "ring it up as normal." After ordering off the app( they now give points) it said our order will be ready in 27 minutes we got dressed and by the time we got there maybe 2 minutes early the food was already ready. I was able to walk to cashier and pick it up and go which was nice. Having never been here before, I was told by a friend that I NEEDED to try it. When we walked up I was pleasantly surprised by the menu options and the service. It was a busy Saturday night but the woman still helped me and answered all my questions. I ordered a bento box with tofu as well as a Lychee boboa tee milk smoothie. The smoothie came out right away and was very good. The rest of the food came out shortly after and the tofu, rice and noodles were delicious. The side green beans and salad left some to be desired but overall it was a meal. First off waited forever in a fairly empty establishment. And then was brought a bowl full to the brim with rice and a single portion of tuna. Not even the double, much less the triple I paid for. The server was a nice guy, he took it back to the manager who then said it's been weighed and is a triple. I'm sure all the rice weighed what a triple portion of tuna would weigh. I go for their General Tso Chicken bowl w/ extra green beans because it's just so good and crunchy. I also love their garlic edamame. Every time i went there it was for to go. I absolutely love Bento. There's a little something for everyone. There's sushi, poke bowls, bento boxes, and bowls. I regularly eat here for dine or takeout. One of my favorite dishes is the garlic Sriracha (I usually get it with chicken). It has such a yummy flavor that's a bit on the spicy side, so be careful if you don't like spice. The poke bowls are great. You can choose from a couple of predetermined combos, but I find it so much more fun to build your own. The staff has always been super friendly when I've come in whether it be for dine in or takeout. Definitely keep an eye on their social media accounts for any specials or deals they run. read more
