Dragonfly always has excellent food. Came by with friends to enjoy their happy hour. Of course they have a full bar and sake options. Espresso martinis were great. All of the specialty cocktails we had were good as well. Restaurant has an upbeat and chic vibe. Establishment is always clean. I love the crab fried rice.. very flavorful and a good portion. The crab Rangoons are my favorite!! Fried perfectly and packed with flavor. There are so many sushi choices and all of them are delicious, super fresh and extremely flavorful. Definitely try the deep fried rolls. Loved the dumplings a lot. Service was great. I highly recommend and would return.

The happy hour was phenomenal! I was excited to try a few things for a really good price. The wontons were nice and crispy and the tacos were even better. The salmon was super fresh and the sake blossom was a nice touch to the meal. Their edamame sauteed was amazing! All in all the food was great the only problem I had was a very pungent smell that was only near the bar. It smelled like a dirty diaper every time I walked by. Luckily we werent sat over there but, it was very unpleasant and i am not sure what it was coming from. Our server was very attentive and took the time to go through the menu as it was a lot of our first time! I would definitely go back especially for happy hour!

I've tried to come here once or twice in the past and it was so busy or we couldn't get a reservation, well this time I made sure we did and it was everything. Dragonfly is like in between a pretty upscale and a more lowkey sushi place. The ambiance is really pleasant and it's decorated nicely. We sat in the big outdoor patio which was really nice. We tried the nigiri sampler and it was incredible. 9-10 different slices of a variety of fish atop rice beds, and everything was splendid. It was such high quality and that's not always the case when trying nigiri, sashimi or sushi rolls. The rolls we tried were delish too, everything we tried was so good. If you want an overall lovely dining experience, from entry to atmosphere to service to actual food, you'll get exactly that from Dragonfly Robata!

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving for a place with great variety! Dropped by this place for a work group dinner Great ambiance and fun vibe! The food and drink selection were fantastic. Lots to choose from (apps, entreand there will certainly be an asian fusion dish of each person's liking. Got to try a hot shoju for the first time, was delightful surprised. The server was extremely astute in knowing what to recommend each individual.

Love this place! Very classy and in a gorgeous plaza with a fountain. The food is very good. I went once before for the sushi and another time for the happy hour and was pleased both times. Highly recommend!

    Fresh Garden Sushi Roll (Vegetarian)

**Vegetarian Friendly** Where I live, there is very few places that serve vegetarian/vegan sushi, so when you're out of town, you gotta go! Was mostly intrigued because they had a separate vegetarian menu - which you don't see often! Restaurant was bigger than I expected, the patio is nice on the cooler evenings. (1) Vegetarian Gyoza - good but nothing special to me. It comes steamed, seared or fried. (2) Japanese Street Corn - yummy! japanese spin on mexican elote. This dish comes 'on the cob' but they were accommodating to serve it 'off the cob' - which makes it easier for sharing! (3) Magic Matt Sushi Roll - the tempura in here really made this roll delicious! If you're not a mushroom lover, the roll itself is still yummy just don't eat the mushroom on top. (4) Fresh Garden Sushi Roll - Consider this an upgraded avocado roll, but it just felt like too many vegetables inside, almost like a salad inside a roll. There was no variation in texture. Overall, good for vegetarian/vegan sushi but wasn't unique.

Impromptu date night, very pleased with our experience! Walked in on a Sunday without reservations and were seated quickly. We shared a ginger salad, the garlic crab fried rice, and the kimchi pasta. The rice was definitely heavy on the garlic, we didn't taste the crab at all - but it was still enjoyable. The salad was classic and the pasta was very different! Would have again. Our server was Shawn and he was awesome! Family friendly and date night worthy, inside and outside seating. Clean bathrooms. Has an area that can be used for events.

Amazing experience here for a special fixed menu for a party. Staff were attentive and the back room space was intimate, but can still be loud if others parties re just outside the doors. The food is always amazing, delicious, and fresh. I will always choose their crab fried rice and the crispy shrimp as a meal alone. Need I say how much I love their sushi as well, made with fresh ingredients and filling.

Went here for a date night and service was fantastic and food was delicious! Our waiter went into detail of the menu and his recommendations and would check up on us for anything else and even when we were in a rush did not hesitate to help and pack our leftovers to go. Food was also filling, flavorful and may be one of my favorite sushi spots and happy hours!

If you want a truly gluten free sushi experience without feeling like you're missing out, dragonfly is the place to go. So much of their menu can be made gluten free on request. Many other dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated as well. I had no problem eating dairy and gluten free. They also have a separate vegan menu available on request. Some standout dishes for me was the crispy rice (so much like Nobu's crispy rice. Absolutely AMAZING.) The miso ribs were also phenomenal. As was the spicy salmon roll.

Dragonfly is a great Asian restaurant in the Dr Phillips area. I have been coming here for years and I recently discovered their amazing happy hour menu! Great drinks, and food options for an even better price! It's a little bit of a drive for my wife and I but it's a good halfway point to meet some friends for dinner, so this is now in our rotation. It's also pretty and comfortable on the inside. We have never had a bad server, always efficient and attentive, and make sure to get the last call before Happy Hour is over. Highly recommend!

Ambiance was great. Joined a work dinner party here and I really enjoyed the feel to the restaurant. I am vegetarian and the options were great. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts (didn't know it had bonito fish flakes but I will live), vegetable gyoza potstickers, Japanese street corn, and the classic edamame for starters. I also got a Fresh Garden sushi roll, which needed some spicy mayo, but was delish. Throughout the night, I enjoyed their espresso martini, which was me very well. Overall, great experience.

We came to Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi for a business meal so we were seated in a private room. There was even a projector and a screen for the host to show a presentation. Service was a bit slow, but the whole restaurant looked really busy even outside of our private room. A little confusing at first because staff gave us a few menus, so I thought we were ordering, but then they said there was actually a preset menu that had already been chosen. The menus are for drinks, but then they could have just given us the drink menu to avoid the confusion. Starters: We tried their brussels sprouts, yellowtail crudo, and crispy tuna rice. Nice start to the meal. I like that their brussels came with bonito flakes and how there was avocado with the yellowtail. Very nice twists on classics. The crispy tuna rice had more rice than I'd like. I've seen this better executed at other restaurants. Kitchen & Robata: In this section, we tried their garlic crab fried rice, crispy shrimp, miso-yaki black cod, Japanese street corn, A5 miyazaki and chicken thigh skewers. Love that they used a generous amount of real crab in the fried rice. The black cod was an interior take than other establishments and the street corn was really messy and not really familiar to what I actually had in Japan. The most impressive tasty thing was the A5 miyazaki, so tender and high quality. Yum. Sushi: I'm not a fan of rolls, so I'm not the preferred audience for this category. They served their cobra kai roll, smoky dragon roll, volcano roll, and the bomb roll. I find their rolls to be loose and saucey. I wouldn't personally come here for sushi. Desserts: We were given both the green tea tiramisu and the fried cheesecake, in which I liked neither. A modern twist on Japanese food. Don't come here if you want something authentic. Also on the pricey side. From their menu I liked the kitchen and robata items the most and didn't really care for their sushi. Overall a nice meal but nothing I would care to come back to revisit.

Ask the Community - Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi

Is the dragonfly roll still available?

Yes, it is! I went a month ago, and it was on the menu

What days and times is happy hour?

Monday-Saturday 5-7 and all day Sunday!

Does anyone know what the deal is with the bar seating at happy hour? Last time I was here all the seats were blocked off with signs.

Usually the bar area is first come first serve however I do know they occasionally will block off an area ( usually outside bar) for pre reserved parties of events.

    Valet parking available?

    Yes two valet areas

    Is outdoor seating dog friendly?

Hello, Bum P. Great question! It is dog friendly. We hope to see you soon!

How much is the all you can eat sushi?

The Sunday brunch? It's $39.00 plus tax for adults.

Do they have a dress code?

Not that I know of, dress casual

Do we need to make reservations?

You don't have to however it is recommended especially when they are busy like weekends.

Is your brunch offered on Saturdays too? Literally best brunch I've been to so far in Orlando.

Currently, we're only doing it on Sunday's but there has been some internal talk about expanding. We'll absolutely keep you posted.

    Do they have Omakase?

We do have a seasonal Omakase specials menu. If you’d like to do more traditional style Omakase, we can do that as well with a little advance notice and a call to the store

    Is this place baby friendly?

    Yes, they are.

The biggest disappointment was the meat selection. The premium menu had a limited variety of cuts, and several of them looked and tasted like lower quality scrap pieces rather than premium cuts. The marinades were flavorful, but the quality of the beef didn't match the price point. We also brought our 10 year old and 6 year old, and neither of them enjoyed it very much. They ended up eating far less than we expected, which made the kids' AYCE price harder to justify as well. That said, the experience itself was enjoyable. Cooking your own food at the table is always fun, the restaurant was clean, and our server was excellent. The service was attentive, friendly, and our orders came out quickly throughout the meal. I'd still recommend Gyu Kaku, but I'd skip the Premium All You Can Eat. I'd rather order individual dishes or try one of the lower priced options instead. For nearly $300 for a family of five, I expected noticeably better meat quality and a wider selection. The service was the highlight of our visit.
