Had a great magical dining experience yesterday at Dragonfly. Was seated in the sushi bar after a small wait. I took a special cocktail that I forgot the name, but it was made with rice vodka. It was a sweet and fruity cocktail, and the booze feeling came afterwards. Pretty good for 16 bucks. The magical dining came with four courses. I wanted to try the seaweed salad for my first course, which was marinated nicely in soy sauce. It looked like noodles, but had a nice small crunch after every bite. My second course was nigiri sushi, which included salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. All of them were nice and fresh, and most of them melted in my mouth as well. Adding the house made soy sauce added the umami needed. The third course was the volcano roll, which was hemachi, bacon, jalapeno, and avocado in the bottom, with scallops and imitation crab on top. It was very enjoyable, especially the scallops and fish. The food was quite filling as well. Thankfully I still had room for dessert, and the ube flan was sinfully good. It tasted like an authentic flan with the ube fusion. It was better than the flan at some Mexican restaurants. The service was professional and more attentive than the last time I visited. It was pretty quick as well. The vibe still look chic and upscale. Definitely worthy of the three diamonds it got from AAA. Parking is still free and easy at the complex. Outdoor seating was available and has great views of the fountains. I am so happy that I finally got an excellent magical dining experience for 2026. I guess third time was the charm. I love coming to dragonfly for happy hour. Drinks are always so good and the food always so flavorful. My favs from here are the sake blossom (drink on the left), the miso soup without mushrooms, and those perfect cinnamon mochi donuts. My friend and I came here because they were one of the restaurants for magical dining! Their tasting menu is $40, and has a great variety to choose from. It also ended up being happy hour so we ordered 2 drinks that were $8 each. It's a 4 course, so this is everything we had ordered: kamake salad, wontons, the nigiri trio, the cobra Kai, the bomb, fried cheesecake, and ube flan. Food never took too long, came out fresh, and it was such a fun experience to be able to try different things on the menu for a good price! Our server was so nice and sweet! Dragonfly is a regular spot for me and friends to catch up after work. They do sushi and robata grill, cooked over binchotan charcoal, which gives a lot of the dishes a nice smoky edge. Recently hit up their happy hour and had a fantastic time. The ambiance is calm and inviting, and the service was phenomenal. The food was exquisite. We loved the Ginger Salad so much we got two plates, and the Chicken Thigh Skewers were incredible. The Veggie Gyoza and Edamame were good, the Wontons were decent, and while the Short Rib Buns had amazing flavor, the buns were unfortunately a little soggy. But the absolute star of the dinner was the Create Your Own Sushi, Uramaki rolls. We ordered multiple plates and the fish was incredibly fresh, everything about the sushi was perfect. I've tried to come here once or twice in the past and it was so busy or we couldn't get a reservation, well this time I made sure we did and it was everything. Dragonfly is like in between a pretty upscale and a more lowkey sushi place. The ambiance is really pleasant and it's decorated nicely. We sat in the big outdoor patio which was really nice. We tried the nigiri sampler and it was incredible. 9-10 different slices of a variety of fish atop rice beds, and everything was splendid. It was such high quality and that's not always the case when trying nigiri, sashimi or sushi rolls. The rolls we tried were delish too, everything we tried was so good. Dragonfly always has excellent food. Came by with friends to enjoy their happy hour. Of course they have a full bar and sake options. Espresso martinis were great. All of the specialty cocktails we had were good as well. Restaurant has an upbeat and chic vibe. Establishment is always clean. I love the crab fried rice.. very flavorful and a good portion. Portions were very delicious, but small, I don't know if I want to come back again Patrick, one of the managers came out and took one of the items we ordered off of the bill because it took so very long to come to the table. The happy hour was phenomenal! I was excited to try a few things for a really good price. The wontons were nice and crispy and the tacos were even better. The salmon was super fresh and the sake blossom was a nice touch to the meal. Their edamame sauteed was amazing! All in all the food was great the only problem I had was a very pungent smell that was only near the bar. It smelled like a dirty diaper every time I walked by. **Vegetarian Friendly** Where I live, there is very few places that serve vegetarian/vegan sushi, so when you're out of town, you gotta go! Was mostly intrigued because they had a separate vegetarian menu - which you don't see often! Restaurant was bigger than I expected, the patio is nice on the cooler evenings. (1) Vegetarian Gyoza - good but nothing special to me. It comes steamed, seared or fried. (2) Japanese Street Corn - yummy! japanese spin on mexican elote. This dish comes 'on the cob' but they were accommodating to serve it 'off the cob' - which makes it easier for sharing! (3) Magic Matt Sushi Roll - the tempura in here really made this roll delicious! If you're not a mushroom lover, the roll itself is still yummy just don't eat the mushroom on top. (4) Fresh Garden Sushi Roll - Consider this an upgraded avocado roll, but it just felt like too many vegetables inside, almost like a salad inside a roll. There was no variation in texture. Impromptu date night, very pleased with our experience! Walked in on a Sunday without reservations and were seated quickly. We shared a ginger salad, the garlic crab fried rice, and the kimchi pasta. If you want a truly gluten free sushi experience without feeling like you're missing out, dragonfly is the place to go. So much of their menu can be made gluten free on request. Many other dietary restrictions and allergies can be accommodated as well. I had no problem eating dairy and gluten free. They also have a separate vegan menu available on request. Ambiance was great. Joined a work dinner party here and I really enjoyed the feel to the restaurant. I am vegetarian and the options were great. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts (didn't know it had bonito fish flakes but I will live), vegetable gyoza potstickers, Japanese street corn, and the classic edamame for starters. Literally everything was good and they had amazing options to choose from for each course. They were also easily able to accomate my food allergy. We came to Dragonfly Robata Grill & Sushi for a business meal so we were seated in a private room. There was even a projector and a screen for the host to show a presentation. Service was a bit slow, but the whole restaurant looked really busy even outside of our private room. A little confusing at first because staff gave us a few menus, so I thought we were ordering, but then they said there was actually a preset menu that had already been chosen. The menus are for drinks, but then they could have just given us the drink menu to avoid the confusion. Starters: We tried their brussels sprouts, yellowtail crudo, and crispy tuna rice. Nice start to the meal. I like that their brussels came with bonito flakes and how there was avocado with the yellowtail. Very nice twists on classics. The crispy tuna rice had more rice than I'd like. I've seen this better executed at other restaurants. Kitchen & Robata: In this section, we tried their garlic crab fried rice, crispy shrimp, miso-yaki black cod, Japanese street corn, A5 miyazaki and chicken thigh skewers. Love that they used a generous amount of real crab in the fried rice. The black cod was an interior take than other establishments and the street corn was really messy and not really familiar to what I actually had in Japan. The most impressive tasty thing was the A5 miyazaki, so tender and high quality. Yum. Sushi: I'm not a fan of rolls, so I'm not the preferred audience for this category. They served their cobra kai roll, smoky dragon roll, volcano roll, and the bomb roll. I find their rolls to be loose and saucey. I wouldn't personally come here for sushi. Desserts: We were given both the green tea tiramisu and the fried cheesecake, in which I liked neither. A modern twist on Japanese food. Don't come here if you want something authentic. Also on the pricey side. From their menu I liked the kitchen and robata items the most and didn't really care for their sushi. I have been going to Dragonfly for years with my family. We've always enjoyed the general atmosphere and had good experiences with the servers. Went tonight and got to try their magical dining menu. Honestly, it was a fantastical value. I started with the miso soup, then the handheld temaki sushi as my appetizer. The temaki was good, it just had a bit of a kick that I was not expecting. This was a good place for a group for dinner. You may want to make a reservation. We had one so didn't really have to wait but the restaurant was busy so may be more normal to have some type of wait time. We had a bit of a tasting menu with different small plates that we shared. Highly recommend the sushi and the shrimp dishes. What really helped this restaurant to stand out was the service! The team was attentive and even though they were a little backed up at first getting the drinks out for the group, they kept us updated and made sure we had everything else we needed. The cucumber based drink was good - strong but still flavorful. The sake blossom/bomb (can't remember the exact name) tastes somewhat similar to a Cosmo, but a bit more fruity. My server was very kind and attentive, and she was so gracious while I was waiting with just a drink and a salad My Friend finally arrived and we had a wonderful catch up, while having one of the best meals in a long time. I usually go here to catch up with girl friends during happy hour. The place opens at 5 and that's when happy hour star until 7. The happy hour menu offers a variety of great cocktails to chose from and different types of food items from sushi rolls, shrimp, street corn, edamame and so much more! The servers are extremely nice and take their time going over the menu. I usually sit inside but the weather has been nice so I sat on the patio and caught the sunset. Ordered a few things from the happy hour menu. Chicken kaarage, skewers, rolls and sushi tacos. Ordered a hamachi Kama off the regular menu. Chicken kaarage was over done and rough. The hamachi Kama was too burnt. We asked for another one. I've had it at several sushi and Japanese restaurants. Never had it sooo grilled and charred before. It is not good grilled. Go for the hamachi Kama at Norigami! Service was good. We had a few bartenders rotating assisting us. I don't know about coming back to dragonfly. read more

The sushi is very nice here! It's the best sashimi I've ever had. I have only been inside once and have mostly eaten here from Uber Eats. However, the inside is very great! Don't know if it's something that happens all the time, but when we went it smelled a bit weird, but I'm sure it's just the fish! We finally had the chance to try Dragonfly and I found myself sadly underwhelmed? We went on a Monday night, for a 6:30 reservation and were seated around 6:40. The women working check in were nice, but there wasn't anywhere to stand with all of the other groups waiting for tables so it felt a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant itself is cute-- a good blend of cozy and trendy. We were sat at our table, next to a wall with what looked like it used to be a candle, but was coming out of its wiring socket? The star of the meal, our server Eli, was very kind and welcoming and always made sure we were doing ok! Food-wise, I ordered the Magical Dining menu (4 courses for $40) and my husband chose some items from the Happy Hour menu. I chose the ginger salad for my starter, Brussels sprouts for my appetizer, miso salmon for my main course and green tea tiramisu for my dessert. Our server briefly mentioned their "tapas style" in terms of servings-- please believe them! I was surprised when my "main course" of miso salmon came out and it was 2 small skewers of salmon on a small bed of cabbage. Calling that a main course was a pretty big stretch. Compared to a large sushi roll, this felt a little offsetting, so keep that in mind. The ginger salad was good, though the "dressing" is almost a chunky carrot puree. The Brussels sprouts were just okay, but I still ate them. Despite being small, the salmon was tasty, but after 2.5 courses (I didn't finish the sprouts), I was still hungry. Luckily, the green tea tiramisu came out, ironically bigger than my main course, and was pretty tasty! My husband tried the bao, Krispy Krunch roll, Sake Blossom, and miso soup from the happy hour and liked them all. Unfortunately, I don't think we will return since we've been to places with much more solid food quality, especially for the price, since we went at Happy Hour and did the Magical Dining special ($90 including tax and tip for the two of us to eat and leave hungry). Happy Hour was a semi-decent deal, but still felt far more expensive than it should have been, with a small miso soup costing $6. I'm grateful we tried Dragonfly during Magical Dining and Happy Hour, so we can at least say we tried it, but I felt pretty meh after our experience.
