This was a fun spot to grab lunch! My work group of 12 and I arrived around 12:00 pm and it was mildly busy. We put in our order pretty fast and got our food even faster! They were friendly and answered any questions we had. I ordered the Birria fries and they were pretty good although they did get soggy fast :/ They were also somewhat sweet and I think it was the type of seasoning they fries had. My friend got the Rollies de papa and she said they were good. The prices are a bit high to be honest... Overall, I'd return to try something else in the menu. read more

Okay I went again today because I really wanted to try the chicken rolled tacos. I ordered online through their website and it does give you a pickup time, unfortunately it wasn't ready once again. I ended waiting 10-15 minutes there for my food. It was really busy inside and a lot of tables didn't have food yet. I wanted to give them another shot but unfortunately their time management isn't up to par. The food is great!! A few suggestions would be to hire more staff in front of house to clean tables, take orders and help customers. I think they're working in a small kitchen so maybe better communication with the cooks? And my last thing is how you plate, the rice and beans shouldn't be on a plastic thin plate covered in foil, as you can see my beans were stuck to it. Great food. Very tasty. You order at the counter and sit or leave. There isn't enough parking for the seats but there seems to be parking nearby. We had a mix of rolled tacos and they were very tasty covered in a red sauce or a quest sauce. They come with one side, so its extra to get rice and beans. I'll go again. read more

We had seen Rollies on TV for local AZ restaurants worth checking out. We were driving back from New Mexico and coming through Tucson, we decided to stop for lunch and try it out. Happy to report it was delicious! I had the rolled tacos and a bean & cheese burrito, the tortillas are really good. Everyone enjoyed their food, and I thought the Birria meat was good, it had a bit of an interesting cinnamon and spice flavor. The rice and beans had nice flavor too. I'm leaning more towards 3.5 stars on Rollies. I love the simple concept. A covered patio with a walk up window, with fun murals and seating. A very limited menu, but lunch appropriate. Kind service too. Now as far as the downsides: I wasn't a fan of the menu options. A little inauthentic. Personally, I dont think green onion belongs on a taquito instead of cilantro. The hottest sauce was medium at best. With so many authentic mexican stands and trucks to choose from in Tucson, I'd never choose this. read more

What can I say? The food and staff were great. We tracked from CA to try this place ,South Tucson has rhe best Mexican food so we were told. This resultant is famous for its rolled tacos. I had no idea what to order and the staff picked out our lunch. We had tried two Rollies -chicken and potato - both were wonderful . We also had the chili sumo...... this as the star of the meal for my wife. She loved the balance of heat want tenderness of the meat. I had to agree they were wonderful. You must go here is you are ever in Tucson- let the woman at the cash register know the California forks with the black scruffy dog named Sassy sent you and ask her to pic your order. We took advantage of their January happy hour specials and tried practically everything on the menu- the perfect spot after a stressful week. Staff are so friendly and accommodating as we realized we needed to order consommé to complete our Burris taco order. The queso fries are perfect split between 3, with a good helping of meat, and the chips, queso and multiple spice levels of salsa completed the order. I ordered a quesadilla for lunch through Rollies Mexican Patio's app because I wanted to support the business directly and earn loyalty points. Unfortunately, the delivery driver canceled the order claiming there was an "issue" with it. When I tried to get support through the tracking link, I was directed to contact Rollies directly since the order was placed through their app. What disappointed me most was the customer service afterward. I was immediately told, "Oh! Well, then your order got stolen, you would need to contact DoorDash." I explained multiple times that I could not directly resolve it through DoorDash because the order was placed through Rollies' app, not DoorDash itself. Instead of taking ownership or trying to help, I kept getting redirected back to DoorDash. I finally asked them to please do something on their end since I was stuck in the middle. After they eventually contacted DoorDash, they were informed they had no way to reach the driver, but they could issue a refund. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability and poor customer service were really disappointing. Customers should not have to fight to get help when ordering directly through a restaurant's own app. Sadly, I would not recommend supporting this business based on this experience. read more

What a cool place on 12th Ave! Initially, we passed it while driving, but with the help of Google maps we were able to find it pretty easily. Nighttime was a really cool experience as the restaurant is lit up and boosts an intimate experience. From the music to the cute patio, indoor layout, we were impressed. The menu was small, and we chose birria ramen, tacos, and the chimi sumo appetizer that also has birria. We didn't love the birria here, so it didn't help that it was in all 3 things we ordered.. I do wish there were other protein options. Anyway, ordering was quick and easy as they have a hanging lit menu and a window you can order from. The music was good too! read more

So good. The Nanas tacos are simple and amazing. The restaurant is large and open. It gets crowded for lunch. You wait in line and order and then they deliver it to your table. Very clean restaurant! Boris ramen is bomb too. Highly recommend the quesabirria taco as well. The rolled chicken and beef tacos are equally delicious. Rollies is a Tucson iconic institution. You have to try it once. From its colorful walls and piñata artwork to its festive music, friendly staff, and delicious reasonably priced food it shouldn't be missed. This place is popular so if you run out of parking there is additional parking on the side. Credit cards are accepted here with a small convenience charge. They also serve alcohol and have delicious watermelon margaritas. I've been here several times and I always get their go to rolled tacos. You can pick rojos or queso sauce or for a small upcharge you can have both. The jamaica drink is not too sweet but has tartness and it's pretty good. If you are on the fence, just go. Absolutely blown away with how good this place was. Was on my way to the airport and decided to stop for lunch and I'm so glad I did. The rollies tacos were delicious and unlike anything I had before. They're like a combination of a flauta and enchilada where it's a rolled tortilla that's very lightly fried that has a great crunch but still melts in your mouth. I also had a street taco and was surprised that it was with a homemade tortilla. Highly recommended! The staff is super friendly and quick to bring out your food. Stopped in on Saturday with my daughter and two grandkids for lunch while grabbing corn across the street for our annual green corn tamale making session. The small parking lot was really busy at Rollies! Order at the counter and you'll be given a number and food will be delivered promptly. Between us we had several orders of birria rolled tacos, a bean and cheese burrito, a couple of Jarritos sodas and some horchata. The grandson hogged the burrito so I didn't get to taste it but he said it was good. I tend to judge Mexican restaurants by their refried beans. The birria in the rolled tacos was very flavorful and they were topped with chopped cabbage and quite delicious. Unfortunately they only had pumpkin spiced horchata which is a flavor I don't enjoy. It was the only horchata offered so I stuck with the Jarritos. Rollies menu is pretty small but the taste and quality is definitely there. read more

Someone mentioned a cafeteria feel and I can definitely agree with that. It's cute and cozy, parking lot is pretty small but we came in the middle of a day on Saturday and didn't have any trouble parking or waiting for food. We ordered the queso birria, birria rolled tacos with both queso and the rojo sauce and beans and rice. Rolled birria with queso and rojo they were good! Presentation was super pretty with the sauces. It had this sweetness to it I can't place, maybe cocoa? Anyway something had a sweetness to it I can't place. The birria tacos were pretty good, decent amount of meat. Not the best birria I've had but definitely not the worst. We're looking for good Mexican restaurants to try around here so we went to check out this place. Once we got there, I ordered from a friendly employee and paid, but didn't get a receipt. Then we sat down only to realize that we had to pay extra for chips and salsa so my husband went back to pay for that. He showed up a few minutes later with a small container of chips and salsa. At least we found out they came with refills the chips anyways. A gal that was there cleaning the tables helped figure out where our order was because 20 minutes had gone by with nothing. It still took her a while longer to bring out our food and she apologized. The order wasn't quite correct. I ordered a taco but not the one they brought out. The food was OK. Very greasy and salty. I've lived in Tucson for 3 years now and still am not sure about the different between rolled tacos, flautas, and taquitos. But I know I like them all, no matter the name! I've pretty much only ordered the rolled tacos at Rollies and they're always delicious - both the chicken and the potato. Last visit I for the family pack which gave us a little bit of everything - 3 of each rolled taco, queso fries, a quesadilla, rice and beans. Even sharing it we had some leftovers. The location as changed some and was patio seating but it's now enclosed which is super helpful when it's the dead of summer heat. It's a popular place, so be prepared to wait some for your food. But it's a great local place and I'd be shocked if you didn't enjoy the food. read more

Service took so long, twice! I appreciate the wide menu and love a good potato option. Their menu wasn't very descriptive so it was difficult to know what base the different foods were on without asking. They have a few different vegan options, but also didn't seem to know the menu and know if they were able to add things to the tacos or the baked potato. The salsas were really good and I liked that they included both red and green so you could get different flavors. Service was okay, but why did it take over 15 minutes to get one taco when there was no one else in front of me. I would go to other options if I were to eat here again. read more

Note: the menu behind "full menu" on here is outdated (likely 2023 based on prices). We dropped in at 12:30p on a weekday and it was packed. Had to wait a few minutes for a parking spot to open and, upon entering, there was one table open for the three of us! We ordered the newer Birria Pizzadilla (basically two 10-inch flour tortillas with birria and cheese piled in between and pan fried - $21 + 45c credit card fee). Ordering at the counter was easy (and delightful) with the woman describing several recommended options. The Pizzadilla took about 15 minutes and the three of us devoured all 8 slices in about 10 minutes, Lol. There's a soda/water fountain (all in one) that includes plain and carbonated waters (yay)! Tip: there are no napkin dispensers anywhere and birria is messy endeavor, so be sure to ask for a bunch of napkins before the food arrives so you can eat uninterrupted :) In terms of comparison, it's so hard... Tucson is blessed. But I think I still prefer Amelia's, La Frida's, and Carnitas Los Reyes... by a nose, only because Rollies' birria was a tad too salty we all thought. But if I'm in this area, I wouldn't hesitate to grab my lunch from Rollies! read more
