It's located in a cool food area made out of various shipping containers. I had heard that Tucson was famous for their Sonoran hot dogs so I needed to try one and this place came highly recommended. The service was quick and the ordering easy. Most importantly, the Sonoran hot dog was delicious. The bun was soft and fluffy and a little sweet, which was a good contrast from the salty bacon wrapped hot dog. I'd heard a lot about this spot for their bacon-wrapped burritos and had passed by it many times while visiting Boxyard but I finally decided to stop in and give it a try. I figured I'd go big or go home, so I ordered the bacon-wrapped Sonora burrito since I love steak in my burritos. It was surprisingly delicious! I expected it to be really greasy but it wasn't at all. I paired it with a limonada, which was super refreshing. The service was good. This was my first time eating at the boxyard. There are 3-4 dining options here as well as a bar. All the seating is outside, some of it is covered, but the rest is out in the open. I ordered my boneless wings and sonoran dog at the window and was given a buzzer to wait while my food was prepared. The wings came crispy, but were drenched in bbq sauce. It was slightly spicy/chipotle, but I couldn't taste much chicken due to the amount of sauce. The hot dog was ok. I think the mayo and avocado mellowed out all the flavors. I was also sad to find that Los Perches' version didn't have pinto beans. The bun was nicely toasted and there was ample filling in addition to the hot dog, but it was only ok. read more

The first bite was the closest I've gotten to heaven. the angels sang louder with every bite into the crunchy bacon and juicy innards. Located in Boxyard it is a great location if you're on 4th just trying to find a spot with shade and delicious food and drinks. On of our evenings in Tucson, my wife and I decided to try one of the specialties of the city: a Sonoran dog. Supposedly unique to Tucson (in the same way a Chicago dog is unique to Chicago), it was a 100% grilled frankfurter wrapped in bacon, loaded with grilled onions, tomatoes, mayo, and lots of avocado. It was filling and really, really good. At Los Perches Urban Sonoran Grill, I ordered at a small window, was given a buzzer and picked up the Sonoran dog when the buzzer sounded. The woman behind the counter was nice and the interaction fast. Really good place to go for vegan food if you're with a group of normies. I ordered the Buffalo Beyond Wings with Follow Your Heart ranch and the Beyond Burrito. This is my favorite place to get food from whenever I go to Boxyard! I always get a bacon wrap burrito. On Thursday evening I got two to go, the Sonoran and the other Carne Asada one. I noticed that the burrito seems to be smaller than previously I believe. Still was a good size and really good, but pricy at $20 each... They give two sauces with it, both which I felt did nothing for the burrito. I hope they switched to salsa soon. The service was blah, nothing, just a cashier doing his job. I always order the Al Pastor burrito, and it never disappoints. They give complimentary sauces on the side: salsa verde, salsa Rojas, and chipotle crema. My favorite is the chipotle crema. I don't love the other two so much, but it's nice to be given options. I love that it's located in The Boxyard where you have a few bars, other restaurant options, and lots of outdoor seating. One of my favorite places to grab food from on a day/night out. My friends and I stopped by here everytime we were at Boxyard and all their food has been incredible. My favorite to get were the Sonoran dog and cheese fries, random but they do it so well. The Sonoran dog is perfect everytime and the price unbeatable. My friends also love the bacon wrapped burrito which I've never had but they rave about. We've had basically half their menu and without a doubt love everything we have. It's fun to sit outside and eat and get drinks from the bar right next to it. Highly recommend trying this place. Beware on busy days though it's packed with u of a students and the wait can be insanely long. read more

No trip to the Boxyard is complete without a taco or two from Los Perches.
