So glad my hubby found this place. It's located up a hill and the parking lot is very small. If you have a truck I suggest parking on the street, and curb your wheels accordingly incline is steep. They have a large assortment of plants and containers. The plants come in various sizes, they are well maintained, and although a little pricey they are definitely worth it. They have a few levels to go through and the workers are extremely helpful. They offer delivery and landscaping as well. This will be my go to nursery from now on. read more

I loved this store, but I was incredibly disappointed with my last purchase. My plant was infested with ants and mealy bugs. In a couple weeks, all of the flowers fell off. When I called, they insisted they don't do exchanges or returns beyond 24 hours. They told me how to treat the bugs, and that was it. I tried it without success, spent even more on neem oil and insecticidal soap. Now all of the leaves are turning brown and the plant looks terrible. It gets plenty of light and isn't over or under watered. I called again, and they mistook me for another customer who had issues with the exact same plant (apparently they let her return hers). YUCKY customer service. I will not be back. read more

The staff here is so rude and possibly racist. I went here the other day because I was in the area and wanted to pick up a succulent. I did not know they had multiple levels, so I went to the lower level first, where the fertilizer was, and this kind Hispanic gentleman (the only employee who was nice that day) directed me upstairs. I went upstairs and wound up in the vase and pottery level. No one greeted me when I walked in, even though the lady behind the register wasn't doing anything important. I wandered around for a good 5 minutes, realizing there were clearly no succulents there. I finally asked the lady at the register, "hey, i'm looking for succulents." She replied, "oh yea, just go downstairs. they're right outside. you'll see it." Didn't bother to show me or specify which downstairs level. Eventually, I found their succulent garden, and was wondering if I could pay without having to go back upstairs. I wandered around for a bit, and clearly looked like I needed help, but of course no one helped me. Yet, these two employees were able to wait on this white hipster lady in flair pants hand and foot, scrambling to find this obscure planter she wanted. I finally asked the skinny white guy who was helping her, "hey, can I pay for this here (on this level)?" His answer: "no, go upstairs," with contempt in his voice, as if I were inconveniencing him. I really should've left but after spending nearly 20 minutes here, I didn't want to leave empty handed either. But suffice to say, I won't be back. Because you'll be treated like scum unless you're white, pretentious AF, and you're dressed like you're at coachella year round. read more

This nursery is pretty awesome, it is really huge and I'm a fan. I will definitely go back. They have so many​ options,unfortunately​l,​ I went towards the end of the day and they were kind of rushing to get us out and were a little rude and we couldn't​ buy any soil because they had already closed the bottom section or​ something. but i understand and will give them the benefit of the doubt. Rolling Greens combines a broad selection of healthy (they quarantine plants before resale) plants, pots (from ordinary terra cotta to imported glazed) and delivery and thoughtful installation. I feel the plant prices are fair, and their knowledge and attitude was good. I feel their delivery and installation fees were pricey -- but I chose to pay for the service, and they were very good and professional -- so zero complaints. read more

Good selection of plants. Top dollar but good condition. However, if the plant dies, expect no return policy or help or eve a discount on your replacement purchase. The plant I purchased died soon after and the management was completely unsympathetic or willing to give a discount or replacement. Pros: Beautiful space! Like a secret garden.... so fun, and creative to the eye. The experts know their plants. Cons: the employees who work the register and deal with customer service have no idea what's going on. They are completely incompetent and disorganized. My orders have been screwed up and or damaged. I have been over changed and can't get a person to call me back..... I call everyday and it's been a week. Also one of my arrangements that I spent over $250 on has died way too quickly (within 5 days). I really hope they get better employees because it's just too stressful to even buy anything...makes the experience crappy. Amazing customer service today: Sept 23, 2020. I have been shopping for a "faux tree/plant" for my home as I travel often (once COV19 is done) and am horrible with plants. I went to the store today and a friendly gentleman helped me pick out a nice palm plant, pick out a pot, asked to see a photo of the room to make sure it would all look good together, etc. He then showed me how to pot the faux plant so it looks real, then carried everything out to my car for me. He was friendly every step of the way and took pride in his work and customer service. Beautiful place. Three levels looking over the city. Tons of stuff: beautiful, healthy-looking plants. Unfortunately the staff (plant knowledge, process and customer service) is rough. I spoke with them over the phone about 2 things: landscape design services and climbing plants for a patio wall and they suggested I contact the Culver City location because they deal with outdoor options - and I should fill out an online form. I filled it out but nobody contacted me (I waited 2 weeks). The Beverly location (they're so cool) said to go to Culver to look at options. I entered on the bottom level. The guys there said to go to the top floor. I waited in line and spoke to someone who said I needed to fill out an online form. I caught them up and they apologized and said they'd have someone get in touch (still waiting). In the meantime, regarding the climbing plants, I asked for some help. They said to go to the 2nd level. There, I asked about climbing plants. A very nice woman said she was "pretty sure" they didn't have any climbing plants. I pointed out that's she was standing in front of a huge wall covered with something beautiful. We both chuckled. She said maybe this ... maybe that ... I asked about sun and soil and planters, but she was very confused. I got a "first day" sort of feel. Not a problem. Another customer interrupted, "do you know anything about herbs?" And she turned and said, "Oh, sure! Let me show you." And literally turned and walked away from me. I want to be clear: I was not upset, annoyed, being difficult in any way. She just got interrupted and helped the new person. I chuckled, looked around... wait, really? Haha So I looked for someone else, but ended up calling the store ... from the store. I got a hold of somebody at the Beverly store (I was in my car by then) who was soooo cool. We spoke for a while about jasmine and creeping fig and trumpet vines. But unfortunately she said, they only have those outdoor climbing plants at the Culver location. She suggested I call there :-) When I did, I held for an operator (5+ minutes) and explained thatI was looking for creeping fig or other climbing vines. He told me that they couldn't help me on the phone that I'd need to come by. I said I was just there. He said, "OK so what do you need?" I recounted my story. He said that the first person was right; they didn't have creeping fig or climbing plants. I said, "Wait, if that's true, why did you tell me come by?" "Uh huh," he said. Again, I was super nice and patient. I asked if he could maybe refer me to another place that sold climbing plants...? He aid, "I'm not responsible for knowing what our competitors sell." Wow. Hung up, went to Armstrong where's great dude named Taylor was super helpful and in 15 minutes answered all my questions and got my sale. And loyalty. And respect. read more

There were many people around to answer my questions about proper lighting and watering. I purchased a couple of plants. Deliver was $75 and very professional. The crew at Rolling Hills in Culver City did an AMAZING job at my sister's home in Santa Monica! She hosted an engagement party for my daughter and Rafella at Rolling Hills stepped in and saved the day by agreeing to make it happen within four days! She sent Geronimo the next day to see the space and come up with a plan to provide screen plantings on a roof top deck and other large tree and plant installations throughout the property. Just two days later Alex and a crew got to work! Everyone was fantastic - Helpful, knowledgeable, professional and HARD WORKING. The crew had to haul plants and plant material up many flights of stairs and were very clean and efficient. They assisted with pot and plant selections and the plants were beautiful and healthy! The day before the event my sister still wanted more plants for screening so Geronimo and Alex agreed to come back THE DAY of the event and add more. They had to work around caterers, a rental company and a sound company to complete the project. They left the property immaculate and we received many, many compliments on the plants, landscaping and design. My sister could not have been more thrilled! read more

As long time fans of the Rolling Greens store, we were excited to learn they did residential landscaping and could tackle the renovation of our yard this summer. We should have done a little more research, however, because our takeaway from the project is that if you're not a giant corporate gig or a Beverly Hills mansion that they can Instagram, you're not going to get their full attention. Ultimately, our yard turned out great - A semi-redeeming outcome. But I do wish we had looked a little harder for a landscaper who might have cared a bit more rather than blindly jumping on the RG train. Our main issues were with the customer service. Primarily: - We were told during the initial consultation that they don't do layouts or renderings for projects "of this size" (red flag, in hindsight?). Seemed fine at the time, but it turns out this would have been really helpful, given our knowledge of landscaping/planting. Probably would have aided communication with the crew as well. (FWIW our project was a full front/back yard overhaul plus driveway pavers. Not exactly tiny.) - Things were often left unfinished, and we had to repeatedly follow up to see if/when the crew was coming back. The project was quoted as taking a week but wrapped almost a full month later. - Not enough pavers were initially ordered for the driveway. Our cars were not going to be able to fit on what they had ordered, but it felt like they were just going to leave it as is had we not said anything. - We kept having to remind RG of services promised (drip system education, walk through of plants, still waiting to schedule a future check up to make sure everything is thriving). I definitely would not recommend them for any project larger than filling your terra cotta pots with succulents. read more

I would gave Luis a five star, but only ONE star for this company. We came twice, searching for high pots, paid for over $500 for two nice ceramic pots, rejected $75 delivery fee, wanted to take them back in our car. They're very heavy, so you would expect the cashier to coordinate & call for the mini car to bring pots up to our car, right? Nop, we were standing under the sun, waited and waited, nobody helped us, didn't hear cashier broadcasting for our pots, she was busy talking about what's for lunch...... My husband had to go downstairs to look for someone in the second section, found Luis, he was super friendly and helpful, he shoulder carried two heavy pots and loaded in our car. We saw him yesterday too, gave us wonderful introduction about those fancy Dutch pots, he is a great sales too. In conclusion, this company's layout is terrible, no easy access from zone 1 to zone 3, no friendly staff except Louis. We will not go back unless Luis is there. read more

I have recently been stopping into nurseries in Venice / Culver City in search of yucca and dracaena. The other nurseries I've visited may have a yucca or a dracaena, but Rolling Greens has several solid yucca specimens and scores of dracaena. I thought all nurseries in Southern California were going to be completely awesome, and so far only Rolling Greens has impressed me with its awesomeness. Bought a Fiddle Leaf Fern for indoors and eager to come back to buy some patio plants. read more

I don't know how this place stays open. I ordered 2 arrangements, spent a little over $300 and 85% of what I bought died within 1-3 months. Even the individual potted succulents died. I've had MANY arrangements last years, I use to get them made at Mordigans on Fairfax and 3rd, but after 20 or so years their lease ended, their rent went up and they had to close down and so we tried Rolling Greens. The first time I took the terrarium back they acknowledged the plants had died and said it was "mysterious" the second time they died I decided to empty out the big bowl and realized they never included gravel or any kind of drainage in the bottom of the terrarium. The arrangements are rather larger and very heavy, so I just purchased succulents from OSH and replaced them and they have been alive and thriving for the past 4 months. Also I must note the woman who rang me up at the register gave me wrong info and told me to "mist the arrangements every 2 weeks" when i called them and told them the plants were dying they asked me how I was caring for them and then proceeded to blame me for following their directions. They said, succulents can't tolerate being misted and that moisture on the plant would cause it to rot. REALLY! Via research online I learned succulents need to be watered at the base of the plant, sparingly and that misting them and having moisture on their leaves is a death sentence. If you must buy an arrangement I highly suggest Inner Gardens, they are a bit more $$ but when you're spending this kind of money whats an extra $40. read more

Unusual nursery in that it has many levels and each level seems to have secret hiding places. Fortunately, the customer service is excellent and I got the guided tour. It seems most items are over-priced and they expect you to negotiate. This was the 3rd nursery I'd looked at and I was too tired to buy what I needed. BTW, using the GPS in your car will get you close, but not exactly here. You need to look uphill to find this spot. Not open on Sunday's. read more

What can I say in LOOOVE with Rolling Greens! Great outdoor and indoor decor. Unique, plants which is the icing on the cake!

They have the only interesting terracotta pots I've found in Lox Angeles. It's hard to find pots with drainage holes, made out of a breathable material, rolling greens has some cute ones at a great price. Everything else however is slightly overpriced. Every plant I've bought has been infested. Check your plants at this place very carefully before you buy! I won't be buying any plants from here anymore. Each indoor plant I purchased had either scales or thrips. My plants are not located near each other and were purchased at different times. Finding scale inside generally means that you brought an infested plant indoors. read more

I had a similar bad experience with Nicole (posting on 10/10/21) on the fig tree we bought from Rolling Greens recently. We had RG delivered the tree to us and paid their staff to plant the tree in a new pot we bought also from RG. Depite following the watering and other upkeeping instructions from RG staff, the leaves began to turn yellow and black about a week later. I called and spoke to the store manager about our concern and about the possibilty of getting a refund or replacement if the tree get worse. I was advised that I might not be able to get a refund or replacement (even though it is still within the warranty period) since the tree had been repotted, despite the fact that RG was paid to plant the tree in the pot we bought from them. She promised to further checking into their return and replacement policy, and get back to me on this and advise from thier in house expert on how to prevent the tree from getting worse. Just like Nicole, we have not heard back from her or any RG staff since. read more

I LOVE Rolling Greens; it's a favored spot for an afternoon browse. Until a couple years ago, this nursery was "to the trade" only, selling wholesale to landscapers, interior designers, etc. Now it's open to the public, but the same quality level prevails. Rolling Greens, as noted before, is built on several levels, including a greenhouse on the ground floor containing orchids, other nursery and indoor plants; a level of shrubs, ground cover, succulents, and a huge selection of containers of every size; a tree selection, etc. You will see plenty of plants here that you don't see at Home Depot, and they will be healthier: I have never bought a substandard plant from RG. What's more, everything is well-potted and carefully wrapped up before you take it home; when you unpot you'll see the quality of the soil which Rolling Greens uses. I've bought some great plants here from the exotic to the mundane, , including black elephant ears, black mondo grass, papyrus, fountain grass, iceberg roses, hydrangeas, and Japanese maples. I disagree that the prices are insane; although it is definitely more expensive than Home Depot or a generic garden center, the prices are fair and on some items (orchids, notably), cheaper than most other outlets (designers, etc. get 20% off). The container prices totally run the gamut- you just have to search. That said, if you have a black thumb, buy at Home Depot where there's a money-back guarantee if you snuff your plant. You can still have a great time roaming around Rolling Greens and picking up ideas in its serene atmosphere. Starting September 9 '07 they're open on Sundays, too. read more

Geez Louise! This place is huge and filled with great stuff. If you're looking for a hard-to-find or mature, well-grown plant, you should try this place first. It seems like they have everything under the sun. Rolling Greens is obviously meant for professionals - you won't find any of those little plastic instruction tags with moisture and lighting needs stuck into any of these pots. I'm sure if you asked, someone could help, but I must admit, most of the people working there looked pretty busy and aloof the day I visited. Fortunately, I knew exactly what I wanted and found it easily. Although the prices are high (really high for some of the home goods and prearranged pots), the plants seemed to be great quality and they offer a range of maturities. I did notice that they had some plants that looked a little scrappier appropriately discounted - so in this case, I think you get what you pay for. I had a great time looking around here - it's gorgeous and for someone who loves walking around nurseries, it's one of the most sophisticated examples I've seen. read more

Michael guided me through the project and consulted throughout the entire process. He is extremely talented, creative, attentive, fast, and requires little direction. My wife and I were looking for plants and this place popped up on google search. Amazing location where you can over look Culver City on your foot. It's at a half way up on the hill with Culver City Park on the right and Baldwin Hills on the left. I felt like coming to an urban oasis and arboretum. We came at the right time, they were doing 75% off on some plants. We got one 7 foot tree which they call it money tree for $12. We also bought some other smaller plants for the similar prices. They had really nice looking plants that are too expensive to buy for ourselves but I would buy them for friend's house warming or bday gifts. Friendly staff and their products are displayed in nice order with care. read more

For a small arrangement, (brought my own pot) it ended up costing over $65. When questioned, my $5 plants were charged at $7, 4 $2.50 plants were charged at 2 for $2.50 and 2 for $5.00, the tiniest bit of moss used was $6 while the labor was an additional $20 and it still didn't add up to the $65. When questioned about it, the artistically, but not mathematically, talented girl working at the bar was just throwing out numbers trying to get to the charge on the slip (the $6 moss became $12, etc.). She became somewhat uncomfortable then said she would correct it if I wanted her to. read more

Failed attempt to purchase pots at Culver City location. I wished to buy 5 pots for indoor trees. As 1 employee, Freddie, was checking on ordering them (they had only 1 in stock), another employee said they could not be ordered. First employee returned and said they could be ordered, promising to call the next day with shipping cost and delivery date. He finally called 10 days later. Before he called, I went back to the store and spoke with Isabella, head of the department. She took my information, promised to call the next day. She did not call for a week, apologized, and gave me updated information. I agreed to go ahead with the purchase. She was to call back with a delivery date and would then would order. She never called, nor returned my calls to her cell phone. Poor employee training (1 answer from one employee, another from someone else) and manager failed to follow through and to return calls. It is a floral haven, and I love treating myself to a visit there because of the quality, health and selection of the plants. Was my first time at Rolling Greens today and probably last. I was given a gift certificate for Christmas to do their arrangement bar and finally got in today to use it. It was about an hour before closing so i can preface this review with MAYBE they were busy getting last minute stuff done, filling orders. I stopped at the register and spoke to a woman there. I told her i had a gift card for the arrangement bar and asked her how it worked. She started out with " You can use your gift card for anything, not just the bar". Thank you, but I'm here specifically for the arrangement bar- How does it work. She shows me to where all the pots are kept and keeps repeating to me how i choose a pot- but some pots are expensive, its expensive, it depends on how expensive you want it to be. Okay, i get it. She leaves me to choose a pot and head to the arrangement bar. I get there and the 5 ladies sitting there, they all point me to another lady. I again ask how the bar works. She tells me i have to pick my succulents. End of sentence. I then have to ask WHERE the succulents are. She directs me down to the next level where i dont find too many different varietals and i find 3 men working who never asked me if i needed help with anything. I grab 4 succulents and go back up to the bar. The lady then says 'Those are what you want'. Well, yes. She informs me there is an arrangement fee. I tell her thanks and no worries, i have a gift card for this whole process. She says "Whatever, i was just letting you know." Whatever? Very nice and super professional. She arranges my succulents in silence and only speaks to me to ask if I want some rocks on the top. She hands it back to me with my ticket and tells me to pay up front. The only time this lady smiled is when i tipped her $5. To which she replied " You dont have to do that". I know i don't- I'm a server for a living and tipping is a nice thing. I pay and leave and am pretty disappointed with the whole experience. My friend gave me this gift card thinking it would be a fun thing to do. And unfortunately it was just annoying. They dont help you pick out the succulents, they don't offer advice as to what would look nice or talk to you about caring for the arrangement afterwards. The sign by the bar says you can choose moss and bark and it was never offered to me. It was as if it was a huge inconvenience to have to deal with me at all. I will take some blame for perhaps hyping up the experience in my head. But having been in customer service for 12 years I am seriously disappointed by my interaction with basically every person who worked here and whole concept fell really flat for me. read more
