My friend visited me again, and we decided to give Rolly's one more try. We figured that our first dinner there, which was excellent, couldn't have been a fluke. We dined there on June 11 and were very glad we went back. This time we both ordered seafood. I had the glazed salmon, and she had haddock piccata. Although our salads arrived not as we had ordered, they were quickly replaced. A young man delivered them to us straight from the kitchen. He was SO pleasant, and friendly, and funny that I was sort of glad there had been an error in our order- otherwise we never would have met him. Both fish orders were cooked perfectly, and the vegetables were fresh and cooked tender crisp. We would have ordered dessert, but the dinner portions were generous, so we were quite satisfied. Ordered take out last night. My daughter thought the salmon dinner was very good and my wife said that the chicken wrap sandwich was also very good. I ordered the steak tip dinner. It was ordered medium but arrived closer to well. Heavily charred and only 4 tips. Way too many fries and no salad even though that is what the menu says. I was very disappointed with the steak tips and most likely won't order them again. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. There should be a negative star rating. We went there for Bruins playoff game, waitress was terrible, they actually moved us so she could take a larger party!! Brought out the wrong food, ketchup bottles on our table was empty, service so slow actually had to ask customers at other tables to borrow their bottles and guess what? ALL the bottles were empty. They had to take our dirty glasses for refills as the waitress said they "ran out of clean glasses". It wasn't that busy and had to continually wait for any sort of help. Waitress actually argued with us when we pointed out wrong dinner was brought out. Then, they charged our cards the wrong amounts and overcharged us! I wrote an email to the restaurant and nothing happened. This place is a black spot on Lynn (which is saying ALOT) and I wouldn't advise ever going there for anything. read more

Went there for lunch today. I frequent this restaurant and will also return as it is a local hang out. Went with guests that work less than a mile from the location and have an hour for lunch. Arrived at 12:10. Waited a few minutes to be waited on but that's to be expected. When we order we let the waitress know that one person needed to be back to work for 1pm and that the wanted soup and a Wendy's Salad with Chicken to go. At 12:45 the soup came out and was told there is a kitchen back up. She was very good at how she handled it. The person had to leave at 12:58. The sale came out about 1:03 in a to go package. Lunch was served about 1:10. I was just going to forget about it and not do a review but after I dropped the salad off to the persons work they called and said that the Wendy's salad that normally has goat cheese and apricots as ingredients were substituted with blue cheese and cranberries and no mention that there were substitutions. Maybe today was just a bad day and I think they will improve on the 3 stars in the future as things are usually good and this the reason I return. read more

My review is based off both me and my husband's opinions. For me, they have my FAVORITE salmon dish! It's the reason I love this place. My husband on the other hand thinks this place is terrible and it's like pulling teeth to get him to go. I will admit , the service is so-so and the rest of the menu is just ok. Very disappointing atmosphere on 1/2015. Crowded and lots of yelling going on between patrons in the restaurant and "kids" (they couldn't have been 18 let alone 21) in the bar and the language--well it was disgusting. The atmosphere was not conducive to dining. We left and doubt if we will go back. Unfortunately Rolly's seems to have become just "another sleazy Lynn bar"! My family loves this place, but I'm a vegetarian and there is nothing for me to eat here unless I get a salad and beg them to make me a grilled cheese. Very disappointing! Second time; and won't be returning. Arrived last Saturday night. After waiting 5+ minutes at the hostess desk; we gave up and seated ourselves. Waited an additional 10 minutes for the waitress to come over. Unfortunately, for us, she was too busy eating her dinner at the end of the bar. Now, it's been 20 minutes; and seats became available at the bar. The bartender was wonderful, when we explained how we were ignored for the last 20 minutes; he more than made up for it. Didn't really care for Rolly's, and don't get the great reviews. My brother and father both got ill after eating here, my veggie burger was gross (and burnt) the service was slow to non existent. My family got their alcoholic drinks refilled, but I was never able to get my soda refilled, so you can see where their priorities are. I will not return. read more

My g/f and I went this past friday night. This was our second time. The place was crowded and if I had to guess I'd say they were all locals. I was watching people wave to one another when they came the restaurant so it seems like they all knew each other. I've lived in Lynn for 21 yrs and even though I don't really know anyone, I was very comfortable eating at Rolly's. The food is great, my g/f got stuffed pork tenderloin and I got baked scallops. Both were cooked to perfection. My g/f said it was the best pork tenderloin she's had in years. My scallops had just enough bread crumbs (i think they were homemade bread crumbs) and butter and lemon on them. The vegetables are so fresh and cooked so that they still have a crunch. We got dessert that was to DIE for .. fried cheesecake with caramel and icecream .. OMG !! The service was great too. I recommend Rolly's if you're in the neighborhood ! read more

Rolly's is what you would call a neighborhood TGIF Friday's or Chili's. A sterile environment with sterile food. The service leaves something to be desired and the food the same. It's a different crowd in here than you get at the Lazy Dog or the Four Winds down Broadway. If you want snooty people and the service to match that just stepped off Gannon Golf Course then this is the place for you, because the clientele, service and food or all on par (pun intended). read more

John the bartender was awful. Slow to serve and unfriendly. When the check came, we laid down a cc and after 10 minutes, John said, "didn't you see the sign in the door?" "Machine down, cash only". If we saw it, would have put down a cc? He was rude and unprofessional. BTW, the sliders at Brody's in Salem are twice the size! With all the choices in the area, Rolly's is at the bottom. My husband and I had dinner here tonight for the first time. We both ordered the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. Where else can you find filet for $17.99? The salads were terrific, especially the homemade balsamic dressing. There is a good selection of beers on tap and wines by the glass are inexpensive. This place seems to have gone down hill the last year or two. Used to really enjoy going here because it is so close to my house but the service has been so bad during the last two visits that we will not be going back. Before the service started tanking it seemed the food was going down too but that could have been that we were just getting tired of eating there so often. We had waited for 6 months to give it another shot and on the last visit the meal took 2 hours which was mainly because the waitress was very slow and distracted with having conversations with her friends at another table. While waiting for the her to take my credit card she was talking for about 15 minutes and I finally had to get the manager to take care of processing the bill. Growing up in Wyoma Square, I remember Rolly's when it was down the street and was more of a breakfast/diner type of place. When they moved into the Square, they completely changed. I have been here many times and have had only one bad experience. I ordered a glass of wine and it tasted like it had been sitting too long, it was sour. She brought me a new one and that was that. We love the two for one burger special on Monday nights. They have a bunch of burgers to choose from and they are all thick and juicy and when I request medium rare, that's what I get. Every time. My mom is a huge fan of the sweet potato fries but I prefer the regular ones. The arancini appetizer is excellent too. Crispy, not greasy, I just wish the portion was bigger! My favorite meal there, however, is the tavern pasta. It is absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. I've tried the other two pubs in the area but always come back to Rolly's!! read more

First time here. Relatively quiet, Sun. afternoon. Mainly a sports type bar, which is fine. Had plenty of choices on where to sit..either at the bar, also lot of high tops around bar area, or the dining room area. Me and my bf sat at high tops, next to window. There's a few tv's and big projection screen. They have Keno and music in the background. Nice, comfortable atmosphere for a sports-type bar place. I had the steak n cheese wrap, light on the peppers/onions + fries. I didnt say light on the steak, well that's what it seemed like, plenty of cheese. Definitely not worth $8. Could of gotten a better wrap else where, with more meat in it. Bf had a burger and sweet potato fries. He said burger was very good and the fries too. Both had 2 cokes. Service was good. I'd give them another shot. I based my review on what I ate, other than that, very good experience. read more

I have used their catering services a few times. I recently hired them for a baby shower 3/15/15. The servers were late dressed in leggings. They were supposed to set up the tables we all did because we were crunched for time. Half the food was missing and there was no coffee on the invoice. The amount was outrageous for the little food that was there. I sent Wendy the owner an email to let her know my disappointment and all she could say was "thanks for the feedback". I told her I wanted to talk with her in person. Told them I stopped payment on the check I have them. Thinking they were a good business I was wrong they are all about themselves and care nothing about their customers. Then her husband started sending me threatening emails that he would send his lawyer to the Lynn police for larceny charges lol apparently he needs education in law. So if you want to hire someone that will treat you with no respect and not care about your opinions then they are for you!! They have no respect for their clientele! read more

We ate our Sat night dinner here this week. The wait staff was great, chowder and rolls, very good. One dinner guest ordered fried sea scallops and they were very under cook, returned and then . they were over cooked. Two of us ordered haddock and both pieces were very thin and very over cooked. Too many people walking behind bar filling orders, taking Keno bets, couldn't tell who was bartender. Had one take a beer order, another take food order, or so we thought, They run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Finally getting the attention of a third girl, had her check order, guess what, wasn't placed. We were there a good 45 minutes. An attentive bartender will check. Rolly's you can do better! Training is in order here, regain control. They did comp our beers, but not the point. Great food at reasonable prices. Last time I went was on Friday night for a friend's birthday. I got the xtra napkin burger, which was really good & cooked well done as requested. House margaritas are really good. Nice relaxed, casual atmosphere, although it can get loud in there as the night goes on. Service is good - it was a busy night but the drinks kept coming. wife & i looking for a cold beer & nice burger in low-key friendly place one early midweek eve and despite generally being Swampscott snobs and avoiding most things Lynn (excepting Blue Ox, Mildred's and Capitol Diner) we decided to try something in Wyoma Square, which turned out to be Rolly's after wife turned down Lazy Dog due to outward appearances - also a bit curious after very positive fairly recent Boston Globe review struggled to find street parking amid gloom and muddy snow banks then hiked awhile past decidely low rent storefronts but still pretty convenient location in West Lynn and appears to be parking behind "business block" - hesitant still on sidewalk as Rolly's presents clean and care for but well not so ... exciting so how pleasing to step in to lively well lighted cutely decorated well organized and professionally managed family dining heaven with bar scene bright TVs Keno cards on high tops alongside warm little votive candles - and they were busssy! must have been Wednesday dinner for 2 special including bottle of wine for what $25? sweet young energetic server Colby treated us like neighbors talking up her favorites and especially Tacos on Tuesday - we'd been seated right away despite capacity crowd, and Colby remained attentive and pleasant but never hurrying or obtrusive all night long - my 2 Tuckermans Ales served from hyped up glycol cooled tap (as if i could tell any difference) while wife immensely enjoyed draft Blue Moon with big slice of orange - big fresh burgers came cooked to order after very little wait, frozen fries - hers sweet potato - served hot & crispy - accompaniments dressings pickles all fresh & tasty and all this, experience service ambiance 3 beers and good quality burgers for ... $36.85?? hello! after years raising noses passing through the Square and avoiding Rolly's and the like, move over, we're moving in! thank you all at the tavern for a very fine evening! read more
