Very quaint little place. The owner Matt was very nice and welcoming as soon as I hit the door coming in. Everything sounded so good on the menu that I had him just pick me a wrap. The wrap he selected had turkey and bacon and all kinds of goodies on it along with some killer Dijon dipping sauce. A+.......keep up the great work Matt! read more

Roly Poly is a great place with a ton of options for even the most picky eater. The reason this Roly Poly is different from others is the amazing owner. He is unbelievable. Driving through from New Orleans to Texas and we stopped here for a bite. Awesome rolled sandwich, hundreds of options, quirky decor. Owner found out we were from Boston and gave us a cookie for free and some Roly Poly trail mix. We aren't used to that sort of hospitality up north. Overall a great experience. Not sure when we would ever be back here but it deserves the great reviews it has been getting. read more

This place was the bomb. I had the asparagus soup (peppery and creamy), tuna sandwich (amazing), and my boyfriend had the applejack (even better). Not only were the sandwiches amazing, they gave me a free drink and while we waited for them to bring out our sandwiches, the manager gave us a free cookie. So sweet and helpful. The first thing I want to say is I am a picky eater. Not only that, I'm pescatarian and transitioning to vegan. So it is kind of hard for me to go into a restaurant and find something that pleases my palate without adding and taking ingredients off. The second thing is, WHY DID I JUST DISCOVER ROLY POLY? This restaurant was amazing from the service at walking in, the taste of the food, and the service while leaving. It was so good, I went two days in a row. I work in the hospital on the same street so I wanted to try something new. When arriving I was greeted by staff members as I walked through the door. I told her that it was my first time there and she broke the menu down for me. I must say unlike most restaurants that don't offer much of a variety of vegan/vegetarian options Roly Poly does! Everything seemed like it would taste delicious! I decided to go with the Thai Tuna which is one of the cold wraps. After ordering and having a seat, a staff member brought out my food. The timing is fast and also what I love is that they addressed me by name everytime they spoke to me. The second time eating here was just as great. This time I had the Texas Tuna which is one of their warm wraps. It also tasted amazing!! The great part about Roly Poly is that you receive a punch card and a stamp for everytime you visit. After a certain amount of visits you get rewarded. Also the drink refills are unlimited. The environment is very comfortable with posters and letters from.past customers which showed me how amazing this place must be. It was like sitting at the kitchen table at home. My final thoughts on Roly Poly is that I wish I would have discovered them sooner. After you eat here, you will not want to eat at those other "sub sandwich" restaurants! The Cobb Salad was fantastic and fresh. Good sized spinach salad, not too big or small, with crispy bacon. You could tell it was fresh. My daughter had the potato soup and said it was tasty, but average. Excellent, friendly service. Fun interior. read more

Worth the diversion from I-10. We recommend the shrimp & corn bisque soup...and everyone loved their sandwiches (they serve a variety of hot and cold...all very unique). What really sets this place apart is the service. We arrived mid afternoon so we enjoined personal attention from the owner...who could give lessons on running a small business to anyone. I've always enjoyed Roly Poly in Baton Rouge, but now that I work in Lafayette, I was happy to see the one on Coolidge. I've been twice, and both times, I've been happy. Good food and a comfortable space to dine. But most of all, the manager is one of the most pleasant faces and personalities to come cross. He makes the experience personal and that's what the service industry is all about. It's about interaction. The second thing that I immediately noticed, after having the interaction with the manager who took my order, was the way he spoke with his staff and how positive they were while working.
