The food is mid level for the price. The staff is always friendly, but this place needs a serious deep clean. I've been here several times, and the smell from the carpet is very noticeable. Normally olive garden is a good place to go to and I don't do this often but today it changed my perspective of things! 1. we ordered a mango smoothie and then once finished ordered a water THE WAITER poured the water into the DIRTY ASS cup the mango smoothie was in! 2. while trying to ask a question the waiter kept trying to run away to avoid the questions. 3. we shared the never ending pasta bowls and charged us for the salad 3 times in replace of the extra bowl we wanted to get. 4. grabbed 2 plates and everything was all over the table no room to really move around read more

I would like to say I don't usually do this, but the service here was terrible today! To start my sister ordered a mango smoothie and finished and then ordered a water and the server pour the water in the same dirty ass cup the smoothie was in. Second I ordered the never ending pasta bowl and I split it between me, my sister, and my friend and when I wanted to get my refill which is supposed to be free the server tried to charge me for it because I was splitting between the three of us, but I only ordered one meal so why was I being charged for 3. We dropped in mid-afternoon for a quick meal on the road...and because my lady wanted me to experience the black tie mousse cake. The cake was the only redeeming aspect of the meal. Our waitperson was in training, so we don't blame her. And we made sure to let the manager that the trainer was at fault: We asked him directly for some appetizer plates, and he frankly ignored us. And that was the least of his shortcomings. If he's training the waitstaff at this location, everybody there will need remedial education. The manager, Shiloh, did comp the meal...and we got dessert. In town for the weekend and decided to meet my BFF for dinner. The appetizer (Shrimp Fritto Mitso) was delicious. The manager Scott was very attentive making sure we had a great experience. Came in to have lunch today, we were seated right away, they were fairly busy but not overwhelmed. We sat for 30 mins, tried to order drinks and request the waitstaff through the little table computer but after watching the table next to us order their food, get their food and eat and order Togo food we got up and left. Had several employees and wait staff walk by and ignore us as we tried to get their attention. As we were walking out, we told the hostess we were leaving because there has not been any service yet and her reply of "ok" sealed our impression of the staff. I hope corporate comes back and cleans the staff out again. This place was great but has gone down hill the last few months. I would welcome contact from management. read more

We had lunch and was seated in the bar area. We were served our drinks although she did forget the requested lemon slices. Then she forgot us. She was not swamped she had a carryout at the bar and another table. While we waited, she left and helped the take-out carry to her car. It took 20 minutes for the bread and salad to be served and she had a hostess bring them out. The 1st breadsticks were hard, the second ones that we had to ask for were better. Our food was just what we expected although we did have to ask for more sauce. Sorry but next week when we do lunch it will be at another restaurant along that strip. I've eaten olive garden many times at various areas as well as the lufkin store. It just wasn't good today, very bland, cold food, it didn't look like it was even fresh from the oven. As if it had been out for a while. The chicken gnocchi is a usual for me but as weird as it sounds, it tasted very bland and like someone poured lemon juice in it. I've noticed prices go up and quality goes down. Why am I still eating out. read more

So we were contacted by management and they apologized and offered a gift card incentive to come back. We went back and had the best waiter who was a Navy vet and it showed in his professionalism and demeanor. We had soup and salad and it was good. I admit that I am not a huge fan of Olive Garden. I ordered a bulk to-go order for 12 customers today. The order was prepared correctly and was ready on time. I ordered the lasagne for 8 and the grilled chicken alfredo for 5. The lasagne was definitely better than the alfredo. As usual, the salad was fantastic. I honestly think salad and breadsticks are my favorite items from Olive Garden. I just don't think OG has great Italian food and for the money, I think you can get better. I would order the lasagne again and would pass on the alfredo unless someone asked for it specifically, which is what happened today. This is no reflection on our servers. She was great. It is about how the quality of food at olive garden has dropped in the last 20 years. Menu has few options. Onion rings look and taste like they are out of a box. All look identical so does the mozzarella sticks. Tasteless. Even our salad was limp with soft borderline bad tasting tomatoes. I believe we had 1 piece of tomato to split between 2 people. Try getting an ice tea refill. It comes from the bar so if the bartender is mixing drinks we had to wait until our meal was over before a refill of tea showed up. We ended up asking for water. This is our last time dining there. We have given Olive Garden many opportunities to improve. Prices go up, but quality....not so much. read more

So, I got Lufkin Olive Garden take out tonight. Went in the store to pick it up, and there are children sitting not three feet away from my order and drinks. They actually sat my order on an end table that was sitting beside a couch full of people. Unacceptable in 2019, and certainly unacceptable in 2020 during a pandemic. Went there today for a birthday party with about 28 people. We were seated fast enough but every time an adult tried to order a beverage, they were out. They were out of Corona, Modelo and dos eques. Two people ordered Italian margaritas but they were out of Amaretto. I attempted to order a Tito's and soda but no Tito's. Another person ordered beer on tap - tap wasn't working. I finally gave up and ordered water. However, the two waiters that were waiting on our table couldn't keep water filled. I got two glasses in about two hours. The waiters were so disorganized that we never even got to sit and have a conversation with others because everyone was too busy trying to remind the service of items ordered. Maybe this was an off day for them - but people pay for an experience and go to a restaurant because the items on the menu (including drinks) are a part of that promised experience. The experience today was not good. I did speak to the manager after paying and all he could do was apologize and blame the issue on his COVID vaccine. Now, I know times are hard, but I find it hard to believe that the entire service and stock were in such poor shape because of a vaccine. He also claimed that it was Olive Garden Corporation that is in charge of alcohol orders, so he didn't have much to do with the shortages. If this is the case, Olive Garden Corporation needs to be working with this store to get service back to a respectable level. Every person in the party was a bit shocked at the level of chaos from what is a usually good restaurant with a favorable experience. read more

We came here awhile back ago when visiting the boyfriend's family. It's definitely been awhile since I've visited a named restaurant chain, so it was an experience. The exterior and interior was that of your normal Olive Garden. The restaurant was relatively neat and tidy. One of the first issues we notice was that a staff member were vacuuming while people were eating. It may be just me, but I find it unsanitary to vacuum when food is being served. Dust and dirt can easily float onto your food. Disgusting! This should be an after-closing task. Anywho, we order the unlimited soup, salad, and breadstick. The zuppa toscanna hit the spot as I remembered and the breadstick were the perfect compliment to dip. We also ordered the tour of italy, which came as a big portion as usual. We really like the chicken parmigiana, which is usually pretty consistent every time we order it. The lasagna and fettuccine alfredo was good too if you really like your food cheesy and saucy. What offset our initial impression was that our waitress, Ladonna, was great. She was super polite, fun, and always keep our drink filled. Overall, the experience was pretty good. read more

I like to go and have soup and a glass of wine when I am in Lufkin shopping. The soups are a little salty and they are always giving me a bowl of chicken and gnocchi without any gnocchi in it. I just ask for another bowl with gnocchi and they get it for me. read more

Olive Garden is Italian, if you couldn't figure it out. They specialize in Italian food which means spaghetti, linguine, insert-pasta-here. For what it's worth, Olive Garden seems to have put a little thought into varying up the menu and there are some variations on the theme of "carbs + carbs + carbs = food". This particular location has been nice the few times I've been. We had a big company function and they were accommodating. read more

For the last two weeks we came to this Olive Garden to order the specials advertised on TV both times they did not have what was advertised because of rancid seafood that had been delivered twice. The first time we left and the manager was very polite and understood when we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. On Sunday August 24 2014 the manager was not as polite and tried to make us feel like it was our fault that there food delivery truck kept brining them rancid seafood (crab). The food was great, but the waitress was awesome. We had crying babies and everything you hate when you go out to eat, but she took it in stride, and made our trip wonderful.
