Unfortunately completely disappointed. When you see NY Pizza you think good NY Pizza. There is nothing authentic about it. Four pizza's 90 plus dollars and just bland, no seasonings, sauce blah, pepperoni greasy, you ask for extra cheese, nope and canned mushrooms and no fresh garlic. Pizza to die for! Some very unique creations...try the fresh tomato and bacon pizza! Delish! Soups with incredible flavor..try the sausage corn chowder! This will sound humdrum... I never thought I would recommend this, EVER, but their chicken tenders and fries are wonderful adult fare. The tenders are huge, tender, crispy and juicy. The fries are Italian seasoned and tasty. Moved here from long island 6 months ago. ( What was I thinking?) This is the only pizzeria ( or food place for that matter) in town. Not a fan. I would rate this on the level of the crap you get in the high school cafeteria. I used to eat pizza at least once a week. Now I wait until I go to Long island every month to see two of my kids and I load up on my chicken marsala pizza and my rigatoni ala vodka pizza. I love eggplant Parm so I figured I would try that. Holy hell people! It's a little place that packs a punch with their food and nostalgia that warms the heart. I'm not Italian but I feel like one here. You're just family even if your "not from around these parts". I think the staff are taking a healthy dose of some kind of a smiling pill to be honest. Really friendly and good people here. Okay, now for the food. Came in yesterday and quickly grabbed a Chicken Bacon and Ranch Pizza. Left happy and wanting more. So here I am the next day with a little more time. I love me some Italian food, if for nothing other than red sauce and meatballs. While I think they have a good pizza, I was too obsessed by their calzones and eggplant parmesan to try anything else. The calzones are crazy huge- you can easily split one between two people, or have dinner for the next day. I had the mozzarella/ricotta cheese mixture with meatballs and ham, and they really do you justice with the fillings. What really blew my mind was their eggplant parmesan though. It comes with a side salad, which is a large portion on its own, but the eggplant is just killer! Loaded up with red sauce and tucked in nicely with a large chunk of mozzarella before being nestled into the oven, it's addictive.... And speaking of addictive, holy cannoli! You have to try one of those little ricotta-filled delights, it's the only sane way to end a fantastic meal here. read more

All of my life I've lived in the New Berlin area and in this small town there isn't much food wise to go to so like most people I found myself going to NY Pizzeria otherwise known as Frankie's. This restaurant is a rollercoaster when it comes to food, presentation, environment and just anything that makes a restaurant worth it. I give this place a 3/5 due to its lack of stability when it comes to its food, but good service. Somedays your food will be just right and then an hour or 2 later that same day the food will be questionable. Especially for it being a pizzeria the pizza is the hardest to get good cause you have to come when either the owner himself is making them or his son Rosario is because if anyone else does it the pizza comes out like a floppy rubber band with grease on it The best thing this restaurant has going for it is the family that owns it. The owner Frank is a down to earth type of guy he will chat with you on anything heck sometimes he'll even sit with you at your booth. The son Rosario is just like his father the guy just isn't bad. The employees are nice also most of them are juniors and seniors from the school down the road which is good for familiar people but it's also bad because most of them don't know a thing about working at a restaurant so sometimes everything is subpar. If you're looking for a place to eat pizza go somewhere else your better off but if you're looking for a hot meal and in town try it for yourself you may have a better experience. About a year has passed since i posted this review about the pizzeria and since it has been removed not sure why cause my review was straight forward and constructive criticism isn't a bad thing if anything it can help. It's a shame though because I wanted this restaurant to become a good experience but unfortunately this place hasn't gotten any better since and has actually gotten worse I've had friends that worked there that have since left because of the work environment which is a roundabout way of saying a influx of new workers is common, my rating has changed to a 2/5.The hope is that after another year this restaurant can get liftoff with there food but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if it never gets better. read more

I drive commercial truck all over the country and it's hard to find places that I can eat at that aren't truck stops. So this little gem was a fantastic surprise. I was expecting the typical small town, one restaurant, kind of place. But this place would hold its own against any fine dine in the industry. The owner has been there since 1972 (if I remember right) and is from Sicily. So the food is authentic. I had the chicken marsala. It came with a side salad and spaghetti. Large potion chicken too. Mushrooms were fresh. I believe The spaghetti was hand made. Diffidently wasn't your out of a box process spaghetti. Best chicken Marsala I've had. Life long love for this place and the people who run it. As a village resident, I can say, after eating here for over 30 years, that Frank, Betsy and Rosario continue to offer the BEST pizza on the planet. Always treated like family and given courteous service. They've done right by our community and have the goods. To be honest, I LOVE Frank's rolls- all of them - chicken roll, pepperoni roll, ham roll ( ok I don't like mushrooms so that ones out). Usually come here when I visit family in Norwich. They are regular customers and so am I. Perfect crust not too thick, not too thin.....our usual is a meatball pizza, delicious. Their garlic knots are usually fantastic, but have been all over the board lately (and my family confirmed) sometimes actual tiny knots of garlicky delicious dough (great) sometimes hamburger bun size dinner rolls mopped in oil and half burnt.....(what the hell?) somebody's gotta do some quality control back in the kitchen. We had a combo of the two on Wed night...a basket of 6 actual garlic knots and about 6 half burnt dinner rolls mopped in garlic oil. Haven't tried the pasta but my family says its all excellent, and from the looks of it I agree. Antipasto salad is delicious but let's not rely on iceberg lettuce folks....lets get some actual greens in there. Restaurant is small in size, probably about a dozen booths. I had a really lousy day and was almost 4 hours from home and stopped for a very quick dinner. What I got was a big slice of Americana and it was delicious!!! This is an awesome place--food--busy--friendly people and a great back story about Frank Baio and his 1972 arrival to save this small town with great Italian Food. Still family run (and quite well!!) the dough/crust/bread is great and the sauce even better. Take out....sure and lots of it. The locals know, now you do.
