THIS PLACE IS A DISASTER. My wife made a reservation for 6:15PM on Valentine's Day. We arrived exactly at 6:15 only to be told we had to wait until 6:50pm for a table. 1.25 hours later, we were told another 20 minutes. My wife was very disappointed, and I was completely disgusted. We watched as they slowly called names while there were at least six or more tables empty. Turns out they had to slowly seat guests because the kitchen was backed up. So not only is this restaurant a DISASTER when it comes to organizing and honoring a reservation, but their kitchen is understaffed and cannot keep up with the orders. The younger girl at the reservation area was completely aloof, and the older lady was wandering around half the time with no purpose. There is no rhyme or reason to how they seat people, and why they leave so many tables empty during a peak time is a mystery. I have never seen a restaurant operate like this. And screwing my wife over on Valentine's Day is unforgivable. WE WILL NEVER, EVER BE BACK TO THIS TERRIBLY-MANAGED EXCUSE FOR A RESTAURANT. HUGE MIDDLE FINGER. Visited Macaroni Grill once again with the family per my son's request. He wanted Italian food for dinner and he was very hungry after tennis practice, so off we went. Upon arrival, we were seated and our drink requests were taken by a waitress. A few minutes later, a new waitress arrived with our drinks and she took our dinner requests. We started off with some deep fried mac n cheese bites, which were hot, melty, and delicious, especially when dipped in the included sauce. For dinner, my wife requested lasagna, my son, alfredo, and myself, mushroom ravioli. Then some tasty bread was delivered, which we made disappear quickly. After some conversation about tennis practice, dinner arrived. The food looked and smelled amazing. The portion sizes are not huge, but you know what? I don't mind that. Actually, it is kind of refreshing to walk out of a restaurant not feeling like I just ate a horse. The mushroom ravioli was superb. I've had this dish before and it is just as scrumptious as I remembered. My wife loved her lasagna and the fact that it doesn't have a ton of sauce. My son didn't finish his alfredo, but he was content. Our friendly waitress expressed her love for the mushroom ravioli sauce and she told me that I can build my own pasta dish next time using that sauce. People, that is awesome. And I will do that on our next visit, which I'm already looking forward to. I'm thinking that grilled chicken, pasta, and that amazing sauce will make an amazing combination. Good food, good service. I am changing my 5 star review to 1 stars after dining in a gnat (fruit fly) filled restaurant and being served regular pasta when I specifically asked for gluten free since I have a serious wheat allergy. We had Jess as our server. By far the best server we've both had ever. She was beyond amazing. Always had a smile on her face and made sure we were happy at all times. Walked in on a slow Sunday afternoon, no one was there at the desk to meet us, there looked to be 30 or so guests. Tables were not ready and we had to watch while they changed paper table cloths with crayons. The waiter was so aggressive and short with us while I tried to explain to my mother who is from another country what the options were. They couldn't do half of the stuff I asked for. The food was subpar. And at the very end the guy had to comment about our enjoyment of the Italian sodas because there was practically nothing in it and he complained how long it takes to make it. I decided to go to the bathroom before leaving, it was 50° in there, smelled like poop and there was water everywhere. Will never return to a macaroni grill again. read more

But it was still very tasty. My dish came out cold. I sent it back and it was microwaved to exhaustion causing very dry chicken. The bread was served hard and cold. The other two in my party had a "ok" salad and the other had very dry meatball pasta. It didn't help that the bartender was pre occupied with his friend at the end of the bar. read more

We chose the "create your own pasta," as well as a Kid's Cheese Pizza (it is an incredibly good choice; it comes with dessert!), some take home food for our family, and a delicious raspberry Italian soda. Over the last decade or two, I have visited this Macaroni Grill when I am in NE Ohio. My family likes to go here and it has become a familiar place. And the service and food are always great! This past weekend was no different. We were there celebrating a family milestone and things could not have gone smoother. I want to especially highlight the work of Jess who was amazing. Jess made us feel so welcome and was so warm; she was professional and on-the-ball with all our orders and specifics. Jess is the reason you wanna go back! What a terrible restaurant this has become. Oh my. It's been prob 15 years since I've been to this chain but back in the day it was a solid basic restaurant. Good food and cute place. This location is run down and the food was terrible and the service underwhelming. The Caesar Salad was dripping in dressing -- literally it pooled on the plate. Soggy. And salty. But no one, even dressing lovers, would do a salad like this. I started to send it back but opted to let it go. Then the entree came and it was barely room temperature. And not very good. Was it microwaved? Was it just plated from precooked mess? It was 5 pm on a Monday so maybe 3 tables w people so it was not as if the kitchen was busy. Because it wasn't hot and in fact barely room temp so I sent it back. Most places they would reprepare the meal. This had the pieces I had cut into on the plate so they must've microwaved it and the weirdest thing is that they added a diff sauce then what it originally had, as if trying to hide it. ‍ And even the second time it wasn't hot but at least warm. As I left, I stopped in the ladies restroom. The floor was completely sticky and the toilet had a pool of water collecting at the base. Gross. Needless to say after spending $25 I couldn't believe I wasted my money and had a terrible meal. So just don't go there. A terrible experience. read more

Four of us met for dinner. My entree was the spaghetti and meatballs for $19.00. While the serving size was large, the quality was not. The meatballs were small and reminded me of those from a frozen package. The serving needed a bit more sauce. My wife had the chicken crusted salad, and she thought hers was very good. Our guests were pleased with their meals but thought they were overpriced. The atmosphere is very nice, and the server was top notch. One other tip--ask for a sharp knife to cut the bread. None of us are drinkers and unable to comment on the wine offerings. I doubt we will be back based on the pricing alone. read more

We LOVE eating at Macaroni Grille!!!! The side dishes are all fabulous, with nice big portions also. Our server Heidi, was so much fun, we will go there again just to see her! We are so happy that corp. headquarters decided to keep this location open because it is worth the drive to go to our favorite place in Montrose. I haven't been to this location before but visited their location that closed in Columbus. The food was high quality just as I remembered. Our waitress was Lisa and she made us feel very welcomed. Romano's has slipped a bit in imho! My wife and I ordered different main course, but we shared same orders in Cesar salads, appetizers spice meatballs, and dessert of strawberries cheesecake and our drinks! My wife said she like everything and fell back to sleep - great conversationalist!! My main course has always been Penne rustica which has always been my order in any Romano's for many years! I have seen the price go from about $9.95 to now of $17.00! What is worse they changed a few years ago from a covered over with baked cheese to no covering and tonight's latest nearly any melted cheese sauce and nearly no white sauce and the variety of meats had burns on on side of them!! They just lost me for Penne Rustica! I will try something else next time, but sad to lose my favorite Italian food dish. The Saturday evening crowd was busy so service was a bit slower at times! We did ask the waitress to not bring one another course before we had finished the current course! Destiny was a very good waitress and friendly despite how busy she was that evening! Yes I tipped her well! For the price of the drinks and food the restaurant should add some soft music or at least bring back their Italian singer! Their private parking is ample parking. They could use a little more handicap parking! A call a head seating does move you in front of the line! Restrooms were a bit shabby, but the did have a big crowd!?! I love every trip to Macaroni Grill! Not everything was perfect this time, but still pretty darn good! The bread that we were given wasn't as soft as usual, but kind of crusty. Tasted good, but I like it better soft. My hubby ordered the Penne Rustica (which is the only thing he has ever ordered there for many many years). He found it a little dry and over browned on top. (He ate it all, just sayin) . I ordered Chicken Scallopini and loved it! Took half of it home for lunch the next day and it was still great, reheated! The free birthday cheesecake was a real treat, even with sharing it with my hubby! Had a group of 12 seated right next to us, but fortunately the young kids were well behaved and were only noisy when their grandma came in (her birthday, too.). This was our first time experiencing Romano's. We ordered the $25 for 5 dinner and were pleased. (The fact that they offer it for 5 instead of the usual 4 is such a treat. No one ever thinks about the family of 5.) The pasta could have used more Bolognese but it was cooked perfectly. The salad was the standard Caesar but the lettuce was fresh, the croutons were wonderful, and the dressing was out of this world. Fortunately they included enough dressing for the next day's lunch. In addition to the pasta and salad, the meal came with two small loves of focaccia-like rosemary bread that were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the crispy brussels sprouts and bruschetta. The brussels sprouts were way over salted but otherwise truly addictive. Will definitely order again. The bruschetta was a disappointment. Very small portion of thinly sliced grilled bread (the rosemary, I'm guessing), small container of whipped ricotta, large container of chopped tomatoes (with a tiny bit of basil and onions perhaps?). The ricotta and tomatoes were both flavorless. I added a reduced balsamic drizzle and it was better but still forgettable. Packaging was thoughtful and well done. Everything was the correct temperature. All in all, a good experience and we would order from them again. read more

Went here on April 27th for my daughter's birthday. The bread was good and my meal was ok. Prices have gone up and food quality and amount served have gone downhill. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Next time I want Italian food I'll go to the olive garden because nothing has changed, except the price, but the amount of food and the taste is still good. read more

The floor was so sticky and the toilets didn't look like they'd been cleaned since the lockdown. The food was institutional. With patronage down, limit your menu but do it really well. Ridiculously inflated prices and cost cutting measures both are obvious and they ruin the experience. No olive oil left tables, no cheese on salads, not even sides with entrees? Does the bread come in frozen now? It seemed like it had a cold center. They have the audacity to ask $34 a bottle for $6 dollar a bottle . I don't mind spending for value and quality but their food and experience don't reflect either even adjusted for inflation. At the price I honesty expected the truffle Mac n cheese to contain real truffle, nope just imitation truffle oil with cheese on rigatoni served in a black plastic imitation of skillet. Smoke and mirrors, I'm done I give it three years and this chain will be in solvency. read more

I ordered the gluten free fettuccine alfredo and my boyfriend ordered the signature truffle mac and cheese. both dishes were really good, I couldn't even tell the pasta was gluten free and I loved the alfredo sauce. we also ordered calamari as appetizer and for dessert we got tiramisu and cannolis. the cannolis weren't the best but the tiramisu was good. I really hate to leave 2 stars, and try not to often because I try to find the good in a situation, but start to finish this was just not good. We sat down, and the server did come to our table right away, however he talked so fast/rushed that he was really hard to understand, we appeared to be the only table in his section and it wasn't busy so I don't know why everything was so "rushed". He sat oil and spices down for dipping, but never brought bread, we ordered appetizers and the bread came out with the appetizers which by then, we didn't really even want the bread because we had our apps. The ceasar salad we got with our meals was bland, my fiance and i didn't even finish ours, it was just....tasteless. I got the steak and potatoes, and my fiance got the rosemary ribeye, my steak was not seasoned at all, just a big pile of the sauce was laid on top and it was cold, so it kind of was a coagulated gelatin on top of the steak, very displeasing. it came with potatoes and broccolini, the broccolini looked like they forgot it in the pan it was so charred and burnt, I couldn't really complain or say anything to the waiter because after he dropped our food he never came back to see how it was...he kind of disappeared until it was time to bring the check, at that point I just wanted to leave so I did not say anything. We spent $108 dollars there, and left hungry....we most likely will never be back. read more

Went here with my husband a couple weekends ago and I have to say, it's changed quite a bit since the last time we were here. I'll admit, it's been several years but customers expect consistency when visiting chain restaurants. We were promptly seated when we walked in the door. We noticed that the tables were very close together which was uncomfortable. The people sitting next to us could hear our conversation so we remained quiet for most of our meal. The server approached us and said he wanted to offer us a free tasting of wine and seemed really disappointed when we declined. We ordered glasses of water instead. He wrote his name on the paper table cloth and introduced himself. He had a very strange way of doing things. His movements and explanations were elaborate and exaggerated. I don't know how else to explain it. For example, when he came around with the pitcher of water to refill glasses, he held the glass way down by his knees and poured from shoulder height. It's was strange. Anyway, when it came time to order, I asked for a penne dish with shrimp and chicken in it. I forget what it's called. It was just ok. They used way too much garlic and it kinda smelled like stinky feet. My husband got blackened chicken with pasta and his chicken was pretty good but the pasta had no oil or anything on it so it kinda just clumped together. The best part of the meal was the rosemary loaf they bring you which has gotten significantly smaller since back in the day. It used to be the size of a football and now it's about half that size. Maybe people were wasting it and not eating it all? Not sure what happened. I like that they still give you pepper and oil to dip it in. YUMMM. Overall, it was ok. I miss the romantic ambiance they once had; now it feels like a cafeteria because it's so loud and everyone is crammed together. I don't think we'll be back. read more

When I arrived at the parking spot and called the number, I was put on hold for 10 minutes. When i finally went inside, they rudely gave me my food and said "we got busy". The lasagna was COLD, the pasta milano had hardly any chicken in it. Only the rustica was tolerable. To make matters worse, their take out app requires you to pay in advance and include a tip! 9 PM Weeknight Review Wow... I didn't read the reviews before going... not sure if I am glad that I didn't... but our experience was much different. They close at 10 PM... I sat down about 9:15 or so... my husband finally appeared at 9:30... such is the life when running around late trying to tie up loose ends and 1 person ends up in Akron and the other in Cleveland... but I digress... I ordered 2 Tappas fpr $9... rather pricy for what was delivered... but both the mac & cheese bites and ricotta meat balls were tasty, hot and not greasy / dry. When he still hadn't showed up after I finished my half I ordered my entree and a chocolate cake for him... if he showed up too late to order dinner... he'd be happy with cake. No problem... there were about 6 other parties in the place at the time... and a few being seated even after he strolled in... no one was being rushed... and the ourdoor tables were even filled with laughing happy people. Our only issue with the entrees was the value... his carbonara and my rustica were well cooked, decent sauce, and his poached egg was perfectly oozing... but my shrimp were small and there were not many of them for the price. I had a peach cobbler / crustata for dessert while he had his entree... it was REALLY small... broiled to the point of the sugar glaze being taffy... and not worth the $. We didn't have alcohol and spent $60... I am dying to go back on a busy day and see if we have trouble with the service or if it is fixed... but it would only be for a light lunch... the quality wasn't worth the $. read more

I enjoy the Macaroni Grill food. We used to have one closer to where I live, but it closed, so I don't get out to there often. During the COVID pandemic they had fantastic deals on Family meals, so we decided to grab it. Tonight we had a take and bake lasagna. It was really good, and the entire family loved it. We got the small which said it would feed 4-5 people, but this will easily give us 2+ meals for 3 people (6+ meals). We also ordered the Mac and cheese bites, which we absolutely love. The sauce that comes with them makes them even better. Other meals that we enjoy are the fettuccine Alfredo, spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken Marsala. Their bread is very good and comes with a dipping oil as well. To go meals come with 1 loaf, in the restaurant I have gotten refills. It is an herbed bread that is very good. I recommend this restaurant, but during peak times I suggest calling for a reservation, as I know it can be very busy....with COVID, I'm not sure what their dine in is like, so you may want to check before heading out. read more
