This location has seriously gone downhill. My husband and I visited here after a movie at the Galaxy, we hadn't been to this location in awhile and sorry to say we won't be going back. They have a choice of pizza ranging from the thin cracker crust (our favorite) to their amazing Chicago Deep Dish pizza. We have never had a bad pizza from here. They also have a large selection if Pastas. My favorite is the California Canalones (sp) which is stuffed with chicken, spinach and cheese. Its always great. Also they have the best cheesy garlic bread. So, if you are looking for a good meal in a family freindly environment, you can't go wrong with Romanos. Well to start off the place is really quiet and dark inside. They did not have any music playing or the tv volume playing but saw they have the touch tunes box. Got charged $113.95 by the restaurant which wasn't correct. The correct amount was $93.95 I have the copy of the receipt. I have been waiting for it to clear my bank account to see if it was an accident and the charge would be correct since I went on Saturday. Today I get notified that my funds in my account are low which I thought was extremely odd because I haven't used my business card at all since that day and it was the only place I used it. I look into my account and I have been charged an additional $113.95 for 7 more times!!!!! Almost $900 dollars in charges!!! Sorry, we just can't recommend this place anymore. Service and food have progressively deteriorated over the years. This afternoon the place was a ghost town. We sat at the bar, because usually the best service can be found there. Our drink order was taken pretty quickly, but it took a long time for someone to take our food order. The caprese salad was dry, and the pizza crust was nearly burnt. No one seemed to notice our glasses were empty, despite employees standing shoulder to shoulder behind the bar. This place reminds me a lot of a round table pizza. It's got a cool little arcade area that is secluded from the actual restaurant which is nice so you do t get bothered by loud screaming kids while eating. The pizza was good nothing to brag about, but not bad by any means. The wings where pretty dam good though. Service was super friendly and didn't let the drinks go empty. From their doughy Chicago deep dish to the moist Italian beef sandwich, I've tasted nearly everything on the menu at some point or other. For a Riverside pizza & pasta restaurant, it's reasonably good, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to dine here. Should you find yourself here, I recommend you start with the calamari--a crisp, lightly breaded plate fried to order. The thin crust "sissy pizza" is excellent for families and large groups, with a decent variety of toppings and a cracker-like crust. I personally recommend their quattro fromaggi pizza with a side of marinara dipping sauce. I'd avoid the deep dish because it usually arrives undercooked with a layer of raw dough. If you can't resist, be sure to request an additional five minutes in the oven atop the normal half-hour baking time. Other standout dishes include the traditional Italian beef sandwich, the antipasti salad and the Chicago-style hot dog, piled high with pickles and relish. You can order jus on the side of your sandwich or request sauce directly on the bread (known as a 'soaker' in the Windy City). The more the better. So why only three stars? You're just a short drive away from something better. For deep dish, go to Chicago Pasta House. For Italian beef sandwiches and hot dogs, go to Portillo's. Both locations provide an authentic taste of Chicago at lower prices, and can introduce you to some new favorites (Portillo's 'cake shake,' anyone)? I order and finish my beer, and still no pizza? I pay my check and walk to the front only to see my pizza just sitting there. This place is lacking in so many areas, it just doesn't make sense to keep giving them my hard earned money. Last night we had an itch for a "Deep Dish" Pizza and decided to support a local establishment in Riverside CA by Googling and finding Romano's Mission Grove Pizzeria. Hoping to enjoy a premium, authentic quality deep dish, prepped and baked to order deep dish pizza pie considering and selecting the "CHICAGO PIE x 1, LARGE STUFFED 14 in" for $37.00 + tax $40,24 total.. Upon opening our pizza box after a 55 min wait we witnessed and sampled arguably the worst pizza I've ever eaten, coast to coast. The rock hard, obviously pre-fabbed, inedible, possibly frozen crust cupping the overly acidic, thick paste like sauce (tasted like jar spaghetti sauce) w/ the as advertised artichokes, spinach and not yet melted, cold cheese layer at the bottom. For $40.00!!! I'd expect this poor quality product from Domino's or Pizza Hut but that's why we selected a premium restaurant like Romano's. Not worth 1/3 of the $40 price I'm afraid! read more

Bree is usually the bartender there when I go, and not only does she have the bar top to take care of, but she also has all the tables as well and she is always running around busting her butt to get to everyone & she always notices when someones drink is running low and offers another. Nope, not again Satan. That was just the beginning. $3.50 for a soft drink. You could sit there, drink an entire gallon of coke, and they would net profit $3.25 from that coke. It's outrageous. We all split the bill and I ended up putting 9.50 on my card while my friend put 10 dollars cash. Forget about Covid! I have been giving this place a chance way before even Covid hit and their service always sucks! Only reason I keep trying it is because they have good pasta! Well today after almost a year I came back and again it was lousy service. I just went in for a pick up and there was no employee anywhere to be found on n the restaurant. I had to back to what looked like the entrance to the kitchen to get a busser's attention. This was my last two experiences also. You walk in and it's like a haunted house. Third time here with Mr.GC. We opted for a late night dinner and movie of "Star Wars!" Plan was to have a cold one at the bar order our meal, while we converse on his trip from Pittsburgh. We called ahead to order our pizza (pepperoni & sausage deep dish) because we knew it would take at least 45 min to make. We got there and we were promptly seated. We ordered a large antipasto salad which was awesome! There was a ton of cubed ham and the salami/cheese tacos that surrounded the salad were great! The pizza came and boy was I surprised! We ordered a large which is 8 pieces thinking we would each have two. We each only made it through one slice! The pepperoni was piled up inside and there was no lack of cheese on this pizza. The sauce was good but didn't seem to fit with a deep dish pizza. It seemed more like a meat sauce and had plenty of spice. This is the only reason I give them 4 stars instead of five. read more

On a side not we noticed several other tables that had arrived after us and had been served some very nice-looking menu items none of which were pizza so maybe the trick is to order anything but the pizza!!
