Best Pizza in the Riverside/Loma Linda/Redlands area. I had cravings last night for some Romano's but decided that I should probably go with someone, otherwise that entire pizza is going in my stomach! The restaurant specializes in deep dish, stuffed pizza but since my friend and I aren't fond of stuffed pizza, we had our pizza minus the stuffed part. We ordered a medium sized peppercini, mushroom, with half pineapple, and half pepperoni. It takes about 30 minutes to cook and so we just chit chatted away. Then our pizza came out and there was no separation between the toppings as requested. So, for those of you that are allergic to something and want to half the pizza with someone I would just suggest that you order two small pizzas. We weren't allergic just preferred those toppings. The toppings are all mixed with the cheese, so you don't see what toppings you are going to bite into, a surprise of goodies every time. Even with the order all mixed it, it was so perfect. It tasted so yummy and the crust was not greasy, the dough is a little bit different compared to other deep dishes I've had, it was similar to a thin crust bread dough but thick. IT was so tasty, my friend and I finished the entire pizza, and we were stuffed to the brim! Service was average, but the pizza is mouthwatering....talking about it is making me want to go there now! read more

His name was Andrew, so if you go to the bar side ask to see if Andrew if working he'll make sure you're experience there is an awesome one! Couldn't say I've had a better bar tender then Andrew, and I've tried nearly every bar in Riverside. This is my first time writing a review for a bar just because of Andrew and his EXCELLENT Service. Will be back for sure ! Also there was another girl I think her name was Patricia? Anyways she was extremely nice and attentive. Andrew and Patricia are the BEST employees, I'll be back for sure! All around a great bar. During the day they have a full restaurant that has AMAZING food. Not sure what time the kitchen closed but I got food sitting at the bar around 12 something last night and it was very fresh and Tasty! I've been to Romanos many times and I had never done a review. I've always enjoyed coming here and having pizza and beer. Never been disappointed with Ethel food. Service has always been good and we always hav been seated as soon as we arrived. This a family type restaurant and by no means is it perfect, but the food is good and it's convenient. Nice bar that's open pretty late and seperate restaurant. Have an online jukebox too. They have TV's everywhere so you can't miss the game. This is probably the most "happnin" bar in East Riverside. We had their Antipasto Salad which was delicious and ordered a Chicago Style (REALLY deep dish) pizza that was good too. Just a heads up the pizza usually takes about 45-60 minutes to make, b/c of the style of pizza it is. If you're sitting in the bar to hang out, this works out fine anyway and besides: good food takes longer to make. read more

We ordered grub hub last night and got the Italian beef sandwich and a medium Italian pizza. The pizza was good! Always is, but the sandwich was pretty disappointing. They didn't send the au jus sauce, which is half the fun, but also the meat was really really overly soft and salty, not like an Italian beef should be at all. It reminded me a little of pastrami but boiled in saltwater. The bread and peppers were good, but I only ate about a quarter of the sandwich because the flavor of the meat was so awful. I've been coming here since I was a kid and rarely order anything besides pizza, so I guess I learned my lesson. They did send fries on the side of the sand which, which I did not order, and I wonder if it's because they were out of au jus and just wanted to make it up to us? I'm not sure. As someone who works in a restaurant, If were out of something that someone orders for to go/pickup I would call the customer and see if they still wanted it or if they wanted to change their order. Good pizza and bear, reason for a 3 star is the last time I went there I got sick from the mushrooms on my pizza. I told the waitress who came back and gave me $1.50 off for th topping and didnt replace the pizza, I had to ask for a new one and they tried to charge me for TWO pizzas. I grew up going to this place. Recently, I was here with my uncle, his fiancée, and my fiancée celebrating our recent new home. We were having a great time until I went to the Juke Box to add a few of my favorite songs. While standing there choosing my songs, a woman was overheard telling the bartender to kick a man out whom was my uncle. She continued to raise her voice that "If he was not gone, she would leave." I turned around and asked what her problem was with this man and she continued to rant and slander his name by saying he hit a girl. This girl was a manger there and she was clearly drunk. How do you allow a manager to get drunk in her own work environment. Mind boggling... Also, she was allowed to kick out people whenever she felt the need to. This man was sitting there minding his own business while giving Ramono's business. The girl who apparently my uncle hit... had severe mental problems and I was told she once attacked a bartender at this very same bar. My aunt said that she was the one who hit this girl and the girl probably did not remember because she was clearly intoxicated. I am a well educated young woman who has worked in a very famous bar in Waikiki and I would NEVER allow someone to represent my family establishment the way this girl did. She was drunk and yelling by the time we left while every bar patron starred at her making a fool of herself. Ramono's owner should be ashamed how they handled this woman that night. She continued to shout orders and yell at the managers to handle what they needed to do. The bartenders were clearly confused as to handle this situation because it seemed that she wanted to make a ruckus over something that happened over two years ago. read more

This location of Romano's is a little shabby. It could use a remodel. The food is as good as the Canyon Crest location. The service is always good. The restaurant side is good for families, and the bar side is good for the locals. Lots of TVs on that side and a couple of pool tables. Personally I only come to this spot if a friend insists on meeting here, for some reason. read more

Love the pizza here. Sadly they have implemented STUPID practice. All we wanted to do was remove the mushrooms from a Romano's Combo. Waitress (who was very nice about it) informed us that they have a new policy that they can't change the special pizzas. Don't go there in the early afternoon! I was served A COLD LEFTOVER SLICE OF 'Chicago Deep Dish'. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PIZZA I've ever had! Good food, very sufficient portions and quick delivery. However a suggestion when ordering delivery to save money. Do not order the chicken fettuccine. No the fettuccine and the sauce is fine. Wanted to order a Pizza without the olive and the waitress Jennifer told me I can not order the pizza without the olives. I told her to leave the Olives off and she said she will have to charge me the a la cart price for each item on my pizza. Excellent service, great food, and great vibes I left my umbrella and realized it when I was already home (3 mins. before closing time) I called them and they picked up. I told them the situation. They found the umbrella and placed it in the lost and found. What stood out for me is the excellent customer service from the waitress, to the gentleman that took my call 3 mins prior to closing and looked for my umbrella, and lastly, the two gentlemen that helped me 3 days later to locate the umbrella in the lost and found. Best Deep Dish Pizza I've Ever Had!!! I compare it to Zachary's in Oakland and that is some good deep dish. If you haven't had this style of deep dish before, it's not like what you will get at BJ's. This is more akin to stuffed pizza where the toppings are UNDER the sauce and cheese, not over it. Anyhow. Give this place a try and make sure you come hungry. Besides a nice front side family dining area, Romano's has a full bar area with pool tables and 16 flat screen tv's showing a variety of sports channels (Fox Sports, ESPN, etc.) along with a very long "U" shaped bar that sits 20. The food is decent but stick to the pizza and Italian dishes for best results. June 4th, 2016. I'm downgrading my review to 4/5 stars due to the recent changes in the bar over the last few months. There has been a lot of turnover when it comes to the bar staff and so Romano's has lot its' friendly feel. It's a shame as it was my go to bar. Time to find a new hang out. June 8th, 2016. Came by to pick up a Johnny Brown pizza and a plain Bacon Burger for my son the other day and we were severely disappointed. Got home and the plain Bacon Burger I ordered was smothered - and I mean smothered - in ketchup and mustard. Very frustrating as I repeatedly told the hostess on the phone when I ordered 'bacon, meat, bun, that's it'. Sept 10th, 2017. Came in, had some pitchers with a buddy and a pizza. Johnny Brown 'Sissy Pizza' is one of the best pizzas around and Romano's is where to get it. We purchased our pizza to go. The staff was very friendly and gave us a cup of water while we waited. I love that they are open until 10pm bc not many good food places in this area are open that late. We weren't able to get the pizza Chicago style bc we arrived too late and didn't have 35 minutes to wait, so we went with the thin style pizza. I ordered a child size sausage for our daughter and a medium size eggplant, mushroom, and spinach for my husband and I. Both were very tasty. Both pizzas were very thin with good quality toppings. They didn't have an overload of cheese and the sauce is a bit heavier than other nearby places. So, if you like the heavy cheese and light sauce, you will need to ask for it. The center of the pizzas were a bit soggy while the outside was crispy, but that's normal from my experience with thin pizzas. Overall, they were good pizzas, good service, and the restaurant was nice as well. read more
