If you enjoy life entertainment & show, then this is the place to be! $50 p/p for an entertainment (Russian, Armenian, English songs) was absolutely worth it. The show was interesting and entertaining as well! Our server Gayane was very attentive and friendly, always checking on us, and maintaining a clean table. If you are party of 6 and/or more, they offer a set menu with a different price range ($135, $175, $250 p/p). Since we were only party of 2 we had to order from a menu. Cheese platter, salmon carpaccio, vinaigrette salad, wague beef, & bronzino. A manager or the owner came to our table with a plate of lamb chops, as a token of appreciation, that was very sweet-thank you! Everything was delicious, however, if you really hungry the portions are small, it won't satisfy you. We had a big lunch earlier, so we felt great with it. Another great touch was, they have a photographer that goes around the whole evening, and takes pictures of the guests. Within few minutes you get an offer of purchasing your pic in a nice frame for $20 (a fare price in my opinion). Even though we didn't need all 3 pics of us, we still purchased them all in support of the photographer's business. In all, yes it's pricey, and adds up quickly, but absolutely worth it! I normally don't write bad reviews. If you look at my other reviews, they're almost all 5 stars because I like supporting small businesses. Last night, my friend and I visited this restaurant. We were told there was a $50 cover charge, and if we wanted a table, we had to spend $150-$200 per person. We decided to sit at the bar instead and ordered food and drinks. The bar service was fine, and the show itself was good. However, before we entered, security told us that once the show started, we would not be allowed to use the restroom for 30 minutes. We accepted that, but when the show began, several employees and a security guard stood directly in front of us and completely blocked our view. I politely asked a few times if they could move because we were there to watch the show, but they didn't seem to care. The security guard remained directly in front of me, making it impossible to see. Eventually, I had to move to an empty table by myself just to watch part of the performance, while my friend stayed at the bar. There were plenty of empty tables available, which made the situation even more frustrating. What made this even more disappointing was that by the end of the evening, the two of us had spent about $450 on food and drinks--more than enough to meet the table minimum they originally mentioned. Despite that, we were never offered a table and remained at the bar. Unfortunately, after paying the cover charge and spending that much money, not being able to properly watch the show was very disappointing. This place is known for its music, which is exactly why we came--but the experience was extremely disappointing tonight. Around 1am, their sound system stopped working, and instead of resolving it promptly, they struggled with it for over 30 minutes with no clear communication or urgency. We understand that technical issues can happen, but what matters is how they're handled. There was no meaningful update, no contingency plan, and no effort to accommodate guests who specifically came for the music. Dinner and a show! We went to Romanov for a birthday party on a Saturday night. Riding the elevator with another couple, we were asked if we'd been here before, probably because we were not Russian. They said we would be in for a treat. Boy were they right! It is an ornate lounge with chandeliers, live performers, and a dance floor. Apparently, we were told, a very popular place for any celebration by the older Russian generation. It is truly a unique experience, especially for an introvert who loves to stay home. The place was packed with mostly large groups that were ready for a fun night out. The first course/appetizer spread is extensive. Mostly cold dishes from carpaccio and roe to avocado salad and cheese. This is accompanied by soda and vodka. After about an hour, the place gets loud and lively with a mix of traditional Russian songs and classic American. People flock to the dance floor where the lights change color. It felt like a wedding or bar mitzvah reception. Honestly, was so fun to watch the dancing but way too loud to chat with anyone. When everyone needed a break, the second course came out which was home style potatoes and an assortment of grilled meats. These were delicious and more to my taste. Unfortunately, we had to leave around 1015p, but it felt like the majority of the crowd was prepared to stay much longer. My sister had her company Christmas party here. It was definitely an experience that I have never had before. It really reminded me of a mini Vegas experience. It was super fun. Lots of dancing lots of sequences lots of glam. We had a good time we went out on the dance floor. The show was actually really amazing. It was a Vegas type Cirque du Soleil show, and I was really impressed with the show, and there was live music the whole entire time. We paid for the $175 package at this restaurant, expecting good service and proper food for our guests -- but it turned into a disaster. Our guests arrived around 8:00 PM, and we didn't get the hot dishes until 11:10 PM. Before that, they only brought a few blinchiks, which reached only half of our guests -- the rest got nothing. Everyone sat hungry for hours. When we expressed our frustration, they brought us a salad -- but that salad was already included in our paid menu, and they tried to act like they were doing us a favor.The food was late, the service was careless, and the staff were completely unprofessional. We went to Romanov for the first time last night on the invitation of one of our friends to celebrate her birthday. Our table was ready when we arrived and it was setup nicely with all the silver ware, serving plates, folded cloth napkins, the appetizers, soft drinks and wine and champagne bottles. The decore and entertainment stage are magnificent. Our server checked up on us as soon as we were seated and was very pleasant and took good care of us the entire evening. The main dishes were served properly and were very yummy. The entertainment was absolutely first class with top acts and singers and a live band worthy of its own separate event but it's included with dining at this place. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun filled night out on the town and looking to go back soon. From the beginning, the manager promised everything would be perfect -- that the tables would be set beautifully, the food would be served on time, and no guest would be left waiting or hungry. The main dishes didn't come out until 11:10 p.m., and the fish was brought at 12:10 a.m. -- when most of my guests had already gone home. So you have to be looking for something like this to want to go. This is more of a dinner club than a restaurant and the entire meal and service is very weird. This is like Chuckie Cheese for Adult birthday parties I was there for my cousins party. The place is typical Russian opulence and you arrive with appetizers on the table, most of which were not very good. I did love the pickles and pickled tomatos but the rest wasn't so good. Sushi was horrible, smoked fish and lox not good. The service is very weird and very slow. If you come hungry be aware that the final main course was served at 11:30pm which was just about when we were ready to leave and head to Tommy's for a burger. I am sure that many people will like the very loud (I am a rock n' roller from way back but too loud) Russian band but it wasn't my cup of tea, but the real issue I had is they played for nearly 2 hours at top level volume with no let-up. I was done after 2 songs. The end of the evening they have acrobats that were okay, if they had 1) served dinner in a timely fashion say main course before 10pm and nlimited the loud band to 1 hour I would inclined to up to 3, but the food was miserable for the most part. Difficult to actually describe what happened here Friday night, but here goes. Armenian-owned, Russian banquet-style food setting, in ridiculously huge (somewhat wasteful if you ask me) portions, decent service, great live music, dancing, cirque de soleil acrobat-type performances, packaged around about 4-6 hours of food and music. We left around 2am and I heard the party still goes until 4. Something to behold. Especially enjoyed the live music where they mixed Russian pop song covers (Verka Serduchka - Dolce Gabana, yes!!!) with Rihanna, with a couple happy birthday song shoutouts to patrons in between. Food was good if not great, and the prefix menu we chose had: pickled everything, lots of delicious potatoes, main course of fish, beef/chicken kabobs, awesome mushroom and eggplant appetizers, even some red caviar to boot. The crowd seemed pretty classy and well dressed, sans a few young-ins at the bar rocking the hoodies with big dragons on the back (stay classy!!) For the price ~$100 including tip, corkage, and the entertainment, it was a good time had by all. I give this place the stars for the entertainment, service and everything that comes with a night out. There are few places where you can dance the night away and have such awesome ambience. It truly feels like a dance hall inside the Romanov winter palace with its grand chandelier and rich red/gold tones. The food is another story. This is by far my least favorite spot for food among all the other Russian restaurants in the area. It's edible but never memorable. They have a fantastic dinner show on Saturday's and you can bring your own alcohol which is great! Music is usually good and if you tip them they will do whatever music you like. There are several menus to choose from ( all banquet style) but overall expect to spend approx $125-$150/person. A must night out at least few times a year with great friends. read more

Aside from the place resembling a jacked up neon laser light discount disco with live music performers playing to a backing track at such a high decibel level that you couldn't scream into the person next to you and be heard. In all honesty , I'm not a big fan of Russian food in general, so to be fair, I'll hold back from rating the food. First of all, employees are super professional and caring. Their manager, Amir is great! He made our night by proving us with the exact things I was asking. He really cares about customers and does his best. Now about our experience. - The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. For New Year it was decorated as the "The Oscar Night" theme, which made our evening pretty unique. - The food is great and served beautifully. When we run out of black and red caviar, our waiter brought us an extra portion. Our waitresses were great. - The show is JUST AMAZING!
