Karaoke started at 9:45 instead of the posted time on the bars website 9pm, for Tuesday. Other reviews said to get there early to sign up but it barely got going by ten thirty. Just FYI I know it's bartime and all but the reviews here made it sound like you'd better get there early or you'd never get to sing and that was not the case. On a personal note I just hate getting places early don't you? It makes me feel a little red faced and dumb. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS VERY POSITIVE; THE BARTENDER AND KARAOKE HOST WERE LOVELY AND THE PHYSICAL BAR IS AS PICTURED 100 PERCENT. read more

Went here on a hop on bus pub crawl from Brews Brothers Pour Decisions. This place was great! A juke box with fantastic songs (you do need to pay), wonderful friendly bar staff and lots of dart boards (my favorite!). I remember this place being less expensive and much cleaner than F&H. I hate to give this a 5 star review, because I don't want to blow up the spot, but it would be nice to see some new faces around here. Love this local hole in the wall bar. Great hang, Free darts, lots of seating , and cheap drinks. Full bar, beers on draft, good lighting. Karaoke if you come on the right night, but they also have a touch tunes which is nice so you can pick out what music you want to listen to yourself. The bartender and door guy here are super kind, good at their job, and always ready with a smile. I love this place, it's chill, lowkey, and a secret studio city celeb hide out . Perfect for a first date, if you want somewhere out of public eye, chill, moody, good vibes. Can't beat the fact that joes pizza is open late right next door! Also fox and the hound is right next door also. Very easy parking here. read more

What a very cool tavern. Happy hour every day until seven. Jason took really good care of us. Very friendly and speedy service. A couple of dart boards for your enjoyment and they even have karaoke night. Although they don't serve food, you can stop at sushi Dan or Joe's Pizza right there in the same strip mall and bring the food into the tavern with you. Really cozy inside with a beautiful bar and comfortable booths and some large hightop tables. Love the brick walls and they've got it nicely decorated for Halloween! GREAT BARTENDER- CRAPPY KARAOKE KJ. Ive frequented this watering hole on numerous occasions over the past few years and have always found the quality of cocktails superior! The bartender knows his mixology and the crowd is usually upbeat and interactive. Even the bouncer at the door is extremely personable and ive had numerous conversations with him when outside enjoying a cigar... The above notwithstanding, the KJ at Residuals is a deal breaker. He cares nothing about the sound system, leaves the microphione settings at the same level as the previous singer, be it a man, woman, strong voice or soft and has no clue on keeping continuity. So igniorant is he on the sound system, there is virtually no reverb, which makes everyone sound as though they are singing at a political podium, void of any toned resonance and he does not modify the controls to best suit the voices of the individual. He hits the switch and tuirns away, never giving attention to how the singer sounds, miuch like a waitress who brings yiur food and never returns to see if all ios ok. once the song starts, he immediately begins a bantered conversation with whom ever is standing nearby, mostly chatty women which whom he is trying to impress. He is perhaps in the top three worst KJ's in the many bars I frequent throughout the city and clearly doesn't know what he is doing, or cares. His inability to harmonize a duet was an audible apocalypse, unbalanced, unrefined and further distracting by his boisterous rude chatter during our performance. Last night, the microphone was on such a low level, that even the guests were holding a cupped hand to their ear, struggling to hear the vocals. I walked off stage mid song and the KJ didnt even notice until I had walked outside. Im considered a patient and courteous patron, and an excellent tipper (usually 50%) but I WILL NEVER VISIT RESIDUALS AGAIN. read more

However, there is a glaring difference from a Midwestern local watering hole...I have met several celebrities here, from television actors of yesteryear to former child stars of some beloved childhood films to blockbuster action heroes. Plan to order beer or basic cocktails here. There's no food menu, but you can bring in your own eats. very unpleasant experience. my husband and I come here every so often, we've always had such a great time in the past. but whoever this girl is who's working there, whoa! to start off, she was very cold and dismissive. treated us more like we were a bothersome to her and could care less that she wanted to be serving us. she asked us if we were ready to close out, and my husband wanted to order one more beer, and she literally rolled her eyes at him. when we finally did close out, she slapped the receipt on the bar and walked away, barely even looked at us. this is a shame, because our experience in the past with the other bartenders has always been so friendly and fun. read more

The vibes were okay when I went there. Only went there briefly. Parking was full, so I decided to gamble with the parking at a local neighborhood to only met with signs saying " No Parking from 6 PM - 8 AM to 8 AM - 6 PM". Typical LA fashion, not surprising. One of my preferred dicey bars to go to. Most days it's pretty chill but he can get busy on games days or when there's karaoke. So if you prefer to sit I would come early on those days. I love karaoke nights - the crowd is usually pretty fun. Bartenders have always been nice and they have a pretty good draft selection. This place is a A GEM. I normally don't gravitate towards taverns but this place is special. The bartenders are SO KIND AND WELCOMING. Most importantly, this place is CLEAN and SPOTLESS. They have a jukebox system where you can play anything that fits your vibe. Sundays and Tuesdays they have karaoke and it's always a hit! Local bar in Studio City, Los Angeles, California in a cool plaza of restaurants and fun spots on Ventura Blvd just before Vineland Avenue. It's got a dive bar vibe, but pretty well upkept with an assortment of spirits, wine and domestic, imported and craft beer on tap or bottle/can still. This longstanding bar pub shares a lot with Sushi Dan, Vegan Studio, Drip N Roll Ice Cream Shop, Supercuts and a gaggle other businesses. So you can grab a bite before you sip a pint. There is some limited parking in the lot but even more on the street with few restrictions. The bartenders are super nice and quick. Plenty of places to sit. They have karaoke on Sundays and Tuesday and daily specials during the week including happy hour Monday through Friday. Including Fireball (Whiskey) Fridays and Two (dollars) off Tequila (& Margaritas) Tuesdays. Fun fact: Residuals was featured on the first episode of Barry, starring Bill Hader. Came here to watch a Dodgers/Yankees World Series game. Seems like a low-key locals hangout. Lots of seating and TVs. Friendly bartender set us up quickly with beers and shots. Had a great view in front of a big-screen with a bonus NFL game on another screen. No food served here but lots dining options just steps away. Was a little sedate here so we headed to nearby Fox and Hounds. read more

I came here after an assistant director told me about it. After Mother's Day I decided it was time for mother's night. I hit up residuals lone wolfing it. I was quick to befriend a comedian who informed me that the White Russian drinks they make are good. Their prices are extremely reasonable compared to most bars in LA. Tip if you have a residual check for under a dollar you get a free drink. Make some friends with old people. I met a variety of different interesting characters. It's in an awkward spot of a small strip mall with little parking and a very uninviting and unattractive facade and entrance. Not my kind of place but obviously a popular locals spot. It was fine for a drink and the bartender was nice enough, but certainly wouldn't return. We didn't eat here, so won't comment on the food. read more

A cool local spot that has wonderful beer privileges, all sorts of lagers, and caters to a bunch of young residuals that live in the area.
