A nice neighborhood bar, no complaints. Cool place to hangout and have a beer and chat with a friend.

What a very cool tavern. Happy hour every day until seven. Jason took really good care of us. Very friendly and speedy service. A couple of dart boards for your enjoyment and they even have karaoke night. Although they don't serve food, you can stop at sushi Dan or Joe's Pizza right there in the same strip mall and bring the food into the tavern with you. Really cozy inside with a beautiful bar and comfortable booths and some large hightop tables. Love the brick walls and they've got it nicely decorated for Halloween! Will definitely be back!

I've been coming to Residuals for years, since it was called Maeve's Residuals. It's always been a modest spot for locals - you'll see a lot of "regulars"; many of them are there every night. I would never take L.A. visitors here; it's too much like a small-town bar you'd find anywhere in the USA. However, there is a glaring difference from a Midwestern local watering hole...I have met several celebrities here, from television actors of yesteryear to former child stars of some beloved childhood films to blockbuster action heroes. Plan to order beer or basic cocktails here. There's no food menu, but you can bring in your own eats. It's in a strip mall with a small car park in a not-frantic area of Studio City, so parking is usually not a hassle.

GREAT BARTENDER- CRAPPY KARAOKE KJ. Ive frequented this watering hole on numerous occasions over the past few years and have always found the quality of cocktails superior! The bartender knows his mixology and the crowd is usually upbeat and interactive. Even the bouncer at the door is extremely personable and ive had numerous conversations with him when outside enjoying a cigar... The above notwithstanding, the KJ at Residuals is a deal breaker. He cares nothing about the sound system, leaves the microphione settings at the same level as the previous singer, be it a man, woman, strong voice or soft and has no clue on keeping continuity. So igniorant is he on the sound system, there is virtually no reverb, which makes everyone sound as though they are singing at a political podium, void of any toned resonance and he does not modify the controls to best suit the voices of the individual. He hits the switch and tuirns away, never giving attention to how the singer sounds, miuch like a waitress who brings yiur food and never returns to see if all ios ok. once the song starts, he immediately begins a bantered conversation with whom ever is standing nearby, mostly chatty women which whom he is trying to impress. He is perhaps in the top three worst KJ's in the many bars I frequent throughout the city and clearly doesn't know what he is doing, or cares. His inability to harmonize a duet was an audible apocalypse, unbalanced, unrefined and further distracting by his boisterous rude chatter during our performance. Last night, the microphone was on such a low level, that even the guests were holding a cupped hand to their ear, struggling to hear the vocals. I walked off stage mid song and the KJ didnt even notice until I had walked outside. Im considered a patient and courteous patron, and an excellent tipper (usually 50%) but I WILL NEVER VISIT RESIDUALS AGAIN.

One of my preferred dicey bars to go to. Most days it's pretty chill but he can get busy on games days or when there's karaoke. So if you prefer to sit I would come early on those days. I love karaoke nights - the crowd is usually pretty fun. Bartenders have always been nice and they have a pretty good draft selection. They don't serve food but you can bring in your own pizza or wings.

This place is a A GEM. I normally don't gravitate towards taverns but this place is special. The bartenders are SO KIND AND WELCOMING. Most importantly, this place is CLEAN and SPOTLESS. They have a jukebox system where you can play anything that fits your vibe. Sundays and Tuesdays they have karaoke and it's always a hit! Ask the bartenders for some fun stories and celebrity sitings. JASON/ DESMOND/ JOSH You make this place worth coming back DAILY! The happy hours are great but I've never experienced such amazing service from the bartenders!! If you're a regular, they remember you by name and your drink order is ready right when you sit down. I often come here during their daytime HH and work - no kidding, I'm not the only one! I bring my laptop and all! After cranking away at work, yes I get a little hungry but that's also not a problem b/c right next door there is delicious Mexican food and across the way there's pizza and the bar allows you to bring it in and enjoy. Thank you so much for being amazing and so chill + great vibes!! Come here, bring your friends, play darts or chill and grab a few drinks you won't regret it.

Local bar in Studio City, Los Angeles, California in a cool plaza of restaurants and fun spots on Ventura Blvd just before Vineland Avenue. It's got a dive bar vibe, but pretty well upkept with an assortment of spirits, wine and domestic, imported and craft beer on tap or bottle/can still. This longstanding bar pub shares a lot with Sushi Dan, Vegan Studio, Drip N Roll Ice Cream Shop, Supercuts and a gaggle other businesses. So you can grab a bite before you sip a pint. There is some limited parking in the lot but even more on the street with few restrictions. The bartenders are super nice and quick. Plenty of places to sit. They have karaoke on Sundays and Tuesday and daily specials during the week including happy hour Monday through Friday. Including Fireball (Whiskey) Fridays and Two (dollars) off Tequila (& Margaritas) Tuesdays. Fun fact: Residuals was featured on the first episode of Barry, starring Bill Hader. They're all decorated up for the month of October, play great music and a neighborhood San Fernando/LA Valley must.

Do you do general Karaoke for the bar, or is it private rooms?

No rooms, but an elevated stage in the bar area.

Yes! They serve both alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages.

Is this a watering hole or do they serve food?

I recently made a mid afternoon call to residuals. I tried for close to two hours to get them to answer, but the phone just kept ringing. It was neither prime time nor a weekend day or night. I brought this to the attention of "The Manager" via…

Still, the drink prices are very fair. Barkeep Elizabeth was friendly from the get-go, and checked on me repeatedly to make sure I had what I needed. Despite being pretty busy, bartender Aaron did a great job of pouring drinks, ordering and serving food, and still making good conversation when he had a moment to spare. And even with the TV's loudly playing the match, the dark wood and comfortable stools created a relaxing atmosphere to combat the hectic traffic along Ventura Blvd. I decided to have their Grilled Cheese with Irish Bacon, which also comes with your choice of tomato or onion; I chose grilled onions. The bread was buttery and lightly grilled to an enjoyable crisp, while the cheddar was properly melted (something that often doesn't happen). Thick-cut Irish Bacon was nicely cooked without being tough, and the sweetness of the grilled onions proved to be a welcome foil for the saltiness of the cheese and bacon. With the onions and Irish bacon, this is a far more substantial sandwich than your average grilled cheese, and I had a touch of trouble finishing -- especially given the well-done & crispy fries that came on the side. But as this meal is about the same price as other places, you're definitely getting much more bang for your buck here, and the food is higher quality to boot. I've always liked Fox & Hounds, and it's nice to know their food and staff have remained top notch as the years have passed. If you've never been, it's most definitely worth a try -- and if you haven't been in a while, it's time to go back for a very satisfying pub experience.
