I've been here many times so I do believe my review is well informed. They like to do cash only after 9pm, but do have an atm within the premises. There are games such as darts and shuffleboard with 2 dance floors and 2 bars. There is a smoking area outside for those who partake. The bathrooms are rancid on a good day but rundown nonetheless. Drinks are reasonably priced which is it's saving grace for the most part. I know they do serve food but I haven't had any except for the free popcorn they offer at the bar. It can get pretty country up in there so bring your boots and get on the dance floor. There is a smattering of seating available as you jaunce about with all sorts of odd decor. I'm so glad this place is still open during COVID. I absolutely love this dive bar! The did is good, and portions are a plenty! Just order by 8 p.m. The drink are cold and tasty!! I absolutely love this place! One of the best bars I've ever been to. I like country music but I don't listen to it very often and I still had a wonderful time. Last night was my second time coming to romans, and I wish it was closer to my neck of the woods. We rode our bicycles and didn't have locks, so we left them in the side of the building and no one stole them; ) The bartender was nice but poured really weak drinks, thank god they were on special for $3 for a couple hours. So far, I think I found my second home. although I say that after many beers and shots. Lol. This is a classic old school bar. Wonderful! Shady characters, hot countryfied bar tenders and actual cowboy hats! Be warned, although this place has charm, its no Applebees or Olive Garden thank God! We were here on Monday sept. 15, 2014 and JJ was our bartender and she was the most accommodating and considerate person we had encountered since the beginning of our 3 day trip in Goodyear, Arizona. We came here today; Tuesday sept. 16, 2014 and our bartender was an arrogant, inconsiderate, slow, weak-pouring, rude, and unappreciative person. Had been tipping her at lease 20-50% on every tab. She thought she was comfortable enough to tell a person of our party(my girlfriend) to take the "bitchy" look off of her face. JJ would have never done that.., she was still considerate and fun..which is what you need when you're out of town. "Back in the day" I took Roman a hood from a race car. It was from a "Bondurant Orange Mustang"... Roman liked it, and he added it to the collection of racing stuff on the walls. It's still there today. Or at least the last time I was there. But I had to look for it. Roman invited us to go to Indy and watch Tony Stewart, who at the time was running in the IRL... I didn't take him up on it. But I'm sure that would have been a heck of a trip! Never been to Roman's? Do you remember Gilley's from Urban Cowboy? Remember the movie Porky's... We came here on a Saturday night for a meal because we heard how good the food was. We had an excellent mahi-mahi taco and herbed chicken breast dinner. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had them put the cream sauce on the side (the sauce was delicious). The cowboy beans were flavored perfectly. Well, yes, it is most certainly a dive. You cannot get around that! The food is good. My husband had a Reuben, which he really enjoyed. He and I both requested our fries extra crispy and they were. I had the tuna melt. It was stuffed with tuna and it was delicious. My friend ordered a Philly cheesesteak. It had a good flavor, but, it really fell short of being a Philly cheesesteak. Please don't use roast beef and try to pass it off as steak. same animal, different cut Our waitress was pleasant and sweet, very helpful. The big downside: the ladies room appears clean, but the smell is seriously worse than an outhouse. To make it worse, you can smell it outside of the bathroom.
