The sign that made me laugh

We went on karaoke night and had the best time. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by one of the waitresses and it continued to get better from there. I've never been so from the outside, I thought this place was going to be small. It was not. If you love to take pictures while having a good time, there is no shortage on what and where you can take it. We had reserved a table for 15 and they accommodated as very well. I got the Happy Hour meal which were the wings. They were very good as well. If you're going to participate with karaoke, I suggest you get on that list quick. I loved the atmosphere, we set between the pool table and the where the DJ was. If you want to enjoy yourself with friends and family you can. Kids are welcome up until a certain time, I believe it was 9:30. Being from KY, I even saw a representation from home.

The is a very cool dive bar. We stopped in for a beer. It's bigger inside than it looks. Pool tables, stage and dance floor, multiple bars. Bartender was friendly.

Wow! We came from out of town thinking dive food and service but we were pleasantly surprised with above and beyond service and the best food we've had in days! Everyone left there like "did we just eat that" it was delicious! My turkey melt with green chilies was seriously amazing! They have stiff drinks and a great selection of N/A beer! Well done! The place itself is fun. Something new everywhere you look. We will be back next time we're in town.

Check this place out for the first time. Didn't really get to try their food from what I heard. It's not too bad. The service is good. They do get a little busy sometimes which is great for the bar making money. The ambience was great. They had a live band going, which was totally awesome. The music was phenomenal. Place was decently crowded And you could still get on the dance floor and get some dancing in. But I do recommend this place if you up for some good country live music and some good eats and drinks. Can't wait to go back.

When my daughter wanted to plan a surprise birthday party for her husband's 40th, she asked his friends where to have it. The overwhelming response was Roman's! My SIL & his friends have going there for years. I was surprised to find out that the restaurant is actually a 100 years old! The restaurant was very helpful in helping my daughter set up and arrange for this party. They blocked off the back room and let her come in beforehand and bring decorations They let us bring a cake in as well. They were just overall very accommodating, which was very appreciated for such a large group . The actual restaurant/bar has a Country Western vibe to it, complete with Country Western dancing. Children are allowed in until 9:30p at night which made it easy for us to all bring our little ones for at least awhile. The food and drinks were really good and fairly priced . THE RESTAURANT IS CASH ONLY, but this doesn't seem to affect business, as it was packed with people ( in addition to our group) My son- in-law was born in Phoenix and this was a perfect place to have his 40th birthday party because he & his friends have literally grown up going there. Thank you for all the help with our celebration, Roman's!

A strait forward no frills bar with friendly bartenders and patrons. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed the night. I met a lot of employees and everyone was beyond friendly. A lot bigger than I thought when first walking in, with two bars, two floors and a full outdoor patio. The vibes here felt like home. 10/10.

I feel like I often give too many good reviews, but it is mainly due to studying other people's…read moreratings and wanting to not risk my money or time. However Aguilas took the cake for putting the Dive in Dive bar. We came in one weekend afternoon to shoot some pool after having run into the owner down in Rocky Point some time ago at his other nice bar with the same namesake. We also saw what he did to renovate the famed Nugget into a modern Mexican Cantina in Maryvale, so what could go wrong. First off the bartender who was a younger lady seemed more interested in her phone than taking orders and seemed a little bummed to work but I dont blame her I dont want to work. I can say the drinks were reasonable and they did have seltzer options for the wifey. The ambience was pretty white trash even for the westside and that's coning from white trash growing up on the westside. They do have two pool tables that were well taken care of but ac was spotty depending on where you stand. They also had smoking which was new to me outside of legion hauls and it got unbearable when two people lit up at once. However, the hypocrite that I am thought it was cool that I could vape like a teenage white girl without hiding it from the gestapo so kudos to them for pushing the boundaries. Nonetheless cigarette smoke is nasty and still dont understand why people think others want to huff their blow back. Maybe im allergic or something. Now from the rumor meal I gleaned that the owner has a dog that runs freely and I heard others brought their dogs. They do have a back patio where I saw a guy let the dog out to do his business, around that same time my wife found a dog turd in the corner of the bar which grossed her out. I gave a few thoughts about picking it up, but a man has to have a line in the sand on cleaning up another man or dogs crap. We shot quite a few games of pool mainly cause we had the bartender turn on the juke box in-between her youtube videos and put in a few songs only to find out there was a queue jammed up that was 15 tracks long. I have seen some reviews that the bathrooms weren't clean but in this case it wasnt true other than the aforementioned doggy poo corner. They do have darts and I must say great billiards tables with a lot of travel. I also had a former coworker and huge fan of Aguilas tell me they have a cool basement at nights for added festivities which sounded really cool and gave me valley bar or downtown Cornish vibes if they can pull that off. Honestly aside from the cigarette smoke and my wife getting skeeved out by doggie doody I could have over looked the sub par service. Maybe ill go back for some basement raves on the weekend and change my perception on the place cause life is to short to just have one bad experience. Edit: I forgot to mention the Drive thru liquor store in front of the bar. We went inside and the dude working the counter was awesome and they had a great beer and liquor select, see its just hard to right a bad review without feeling like a Karen but that liquor store and personnel is 5 stars

While in the men's restroom, three of us were talking about how hot it was because the air conditioning wasn't working. One man joked that it "felt like we were slaves." Another customer responded by saying, "I wish we never bought those monkeys," and then repeatedly used the N-word and other racist language. I immediately called him out, but rather than continue arguing, I went to find security. I had to locate the security guard because he wasn't outside the restroom. When I found him, he was standing next to the man who had made the racist comments, so I reported exactly what had happened. The response I received was shocking. I was told there was nothing they could do because they didn't personally hear the comments. I was also told the customer was "entitled to free speech" and that if I didn't like it, I could throw my drink away and leave. I then asked to speak with the owner. The security guard responded, "I'm the fucking owner. If you don't like it, throw your drink away and leave." No one was asking anyone to violate someone's free speech rights. I was reporting a customer who was openly using racist slurs and creating a hostile environment inside a private business. Instead of addressing the behavior or even taking my complaint seriously, I was dismissed and treated like I was the problem. Whether you agree with someone's politics or not, openly using racist language--including the N-word--and comparing Black people to "monkeys" should not be brushed off by management. The fact that the owner's response was to curse at me and tell me to leave speaks volumes about the culture of this establishment. I won't be returning, and I hope others know how complaints about racist behavior are handled here before deciding to spend their money at this business.
