A great neighborhood mechanic. This is a family business that has passed from one generation to the next. PJ now runs the shop and his parents come in to help every now and then. I asked them pricing for a couple of services and their prices was lower than average and I can tell they take pride in their work. Found this place by accident. I was referred to a shop in the same complex as Romar but was not given the suite number. I checked the reviews on YELP and decided to try it. It's a small shop so they may not get you in right way but they are certainly worth the wait. Very friendly service and they actually explain what's wrong with your car in layman's terms! Pricing seemed fair and they were prompt. It's family owned as has been in the area over 20 years. I highly recommend them. read more

I had my 2000 Ford F-150 Lightning fuel pump replaced. Excellent service and price for replacing the pump I supplied for him. Had Ken Gordy Ford in Buena Park give me a estimate to diagnose and replace the fuel pump and they wanted $2000.00 and they had to find the part because no longer available from Ford. And it would take over 2 weeks to get the part. I ordered the parts and had it in 3 days. Romar & Sons Auto Repair is the place for service. read more

I went here a few times when The Dad and older son PJ was running the place. I have not had any issue with PJ. On my last visit first week of July 2019, I went in for failing smog check (no live data on catalytic). I was told Intake rubber manifold is leaking and got that fix for $150. Next day to verify compilation of work. I was told radiator is now leaking. I did not believe this and my wife did not believe it either. We refuse the $450 work. We went to pick up car and sure enough, Radiator was suddenly leaking badly. It went empty on a two mile drive. This was the younger Son that accepted the Car and my Contact. I ended up replacing the Japan made radiator with a Taiwan replacement. I did the work myself. I am still looking for a mechanic to work on Smog problem. I have no problem paying a mechanic, I have a problem when I get screwed. I will not be going back to this place and telling my friends and family about what was done to my car. read more

I brought my Honda Civic in because it had a minor oil leak. I needed to replace valve cover to stop the leak and PJ walked me through the options. He will tell you what he would do as if your car was his car. This joint is referral-based, not insurance-repair driven, so they are honest people.
