Roma is such a cute little "small town feel" spot. The two brothers that own it are awesome, and really put pride in their work. I got a half/ half masterpiece that came straight out of the oven that's been seasoned by tons of orders. The pizza was perfect and freckled with those smoky char spots that only happen when dough hits serious heat. It's the kind of crust you can hear before you bite it, that crisp to chew ratio. Ordered here again last night wanted to try the Pizza and more. I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza score 9 out of 10 didn't care for the crust but that's just my pickyness. What I am disappointed with was the French fries and broccoli bites, the fries were just stale and disgusting like they been sitting out for a while. Broccoli Bites were just over greasy, not very appetizing. So never again with the fries and broccoli bites. read more

Barstool's Dave Portnoy gave Roma pizza a 7.7 score if I'm not mistaken? I think his score was a bit generous. I for one think the sauce wasn't bad, but it kind of tasted like the can and the sausage appeared to have been sliced, then chopped up into little bits and pieces, which detracted from the pie's overall flavor. The positives: The pizza had a good cheese pull and the crust was perfectly charred, and the flavor of the char was spot on. More negatives: However, the crust was uneven, the dough was unevenly distributed, leaving some slices thicker than others. Overall, the pie wasn't bad, and it gets the job done. Fantastic pizza, everything about it is delicious. I have not tried anything else yet. The crew in there is friendly. A tiny joint only a couple seats, not enough to dine in. The only thing that sucks is that we always forget about them. We don't live on that side of town and it's not easily seen or in our route. Hands down The Best pizza in torrington. I've stopped at Roma's 3 times in the past couple of weeks, slices are decent, and last night I ordered a large sausage & mushroom pizza to go -- it was good. The place looks dumpy, and I have to admit, I'm a bit turned off by the owner smoking on the porch and throwing his used cigs in the grass in front of his establishment. Classic pizza shop in Torrington if you're from around the area you know is one of the pizza spots to stop by, the closest you can get to New York style, brick oven gives it that char and crispy texture, good ingredients, I always go for the good ok classic regular cheese or pepperoni, but the shrimp scampi pizza is real good. This is seriously the best pizza I've ever had. Roma's itself is a small location with no a lot of parking (and considering they have one table it's mostly take out), but whatever they do in the kitchen is magic. I dislike most sauce, but they have a good sauce to cheese ratio, and it has the right amount of sweetness not to be overpowering. My co workers decided to get some food delivered to us at work. I ordered the Italian combo grinder which was a big mistake. Looking at the grinder when I got I thought OMG this is huge! However, when I opened it up I was so very disappointed. It was huge..... a huge grinder roll & that was the majority of the grinder. I get more meat on a Subway grinder than I did ordering here. When I bit into all I could taste was bread & mayo ,I think there was just 1 piece of each different type of meat in it. Never again will I order a grinder there ! read more

I am giving it 4 stars because I am promising I will be strict with my 5 star ratings on Yelp. BUT "Roma's" is definitely my favorite spot in Torrington for pizza. The pizza is great. If you like greasy New York brick oven style pizza, you will love this. The sauce is great, not too chunky and not too plain. The crust is soft and never burnt. The pizza is cooked very fast in the brick oven. If you happen to be lucky enough to grab the ONE booth inside, you will have your pizza in under ten minutes. It took a friend and I 7 minutes to get our small pizza when waiting to take-out! If you can't snag the only booth, you can sit outside if the weather is good. The guys are friendly and are very good to you. The price is relatively cheap (9-18 bucks per pie depending on size/toppings). It is also one of the only places in town you can order by the slice and get any toppings you want on the slices. read more

Big ole pizza slices. No doubt about this place however with them that big often they fall into being too greasy. This place is hit and miss I believe. Either it's going to be good or it wont. Ah, Roma Pizza. Generally my first pick for delivery pizza, it's usually quick, tasty and .. well, generally my first pick for delivery pizza. It's not much of a spot for dining, there is a small outdoor seating area, but you're more likely to go for take-out. But I haven't been there in a while, so they may have added something since then.. I have noticed a decrease in quality so far this summer (2009), which is unfortunate. My pizzas have been delivered burnt, cold and limp, and just not the same quality that I grew to expect with Roma. 25% chance you'll be disappointed. Otherwise, a good choice. read more

So my fiance called Roma's to get pizza delivered while I was at band practice. We've ordered from Roma's many times before. This time they almost didn't deliver to us, then they wanted to charge us a $2 delivery fee, and then our wait went to an hour. We ALWAYS tip very well because we know we are a bit out of the way. So it is very disappointing that this haoohapp to us today, and we will most likely never order from there again. I even called to see what changed and they just hung up. Tried most pizza restaurants in Torrington and Roma by far is the best! Very good quality, fresh tasting ingredients,and the pizza sauce is the best I've ever tasted! And just like their food, their customer service is also exceptional. When our pizza was done they brought it right out to our car. Hows that for customer service! pizza is good always. brick oven makes it way better. got a chicken parm grinder and they put grilled diced chicken without breading so that was wack on their part. talk about absolutely let down for that. must have been one of the kids. also i know your open till 10pm seeing how thats what it says on your menu. so when i call at 940 to order a salad and sandwich i expect you to answer seeing how you arent closed for another 20 minutes and i know it doesnt take that long to make either. ill still come and enjoy my occasional pizza but help your customers out. i like to tip too and this isnt helping. step it up for your customers. read more

I can say, hands down, when it comes to thin crust pizza, Roma's is the top of the line. We have lived in this city for 23 years, and until Roma's arrived, we ate 2'd best. The all Veggie is a soul satisfying treat , even for the carnivore. They may be a bit cranky in the ordering department, but they are always busy. Great crust, great meats, Great sauce. Special orders don't upset them. Have it your way!. No better thin crust in town. Don't look to sit down and have a night of it there, because it is not a full restaurant set up.
