Incredible pizzas all around. Being from europe and having been in Naples, these felt just like we were back in italy. The new yorker is phenomenal and so is the 4 cheeses. The staff is very nice, greeting guests kindly as they walked in. We had to wait about 20 min, which is expected on a Friday evening. That said - being a restaurant, we'd have preferred to have a real service experience vs ordering at the counter & getting a number, which felt more like a food court. I am not typically a fan of Neopolitan pizza but Pizzeria Marzano make an excellent pie. My friend lives nearby and this was our plan b for dinner, and it was excellent. The buffalo chicken pizza wasn't too spicy, and the white pie had some delish cheese on it. The cannoli are also super tasty and fully filled. I joined their rewards program and I'm definitely going to be back for some rewards points. Everyone working was super nice, and I love how cute the decor is for Christmas. Friends in the area have been urging me to try Marzano for a long time. I'm glad I went. Very good wood-fired Naples style pizza. Additionally, their salad/starter selection was impressive. Very good quality food. Service was pleasant and greeted me as soon as I walked in. You order with them at the counter/bar and then food runners bring to you. So, it's a very clinical feel and (in my opinion) limits the opportunity for up-selling as folks are enjoying their meals. But for my purposes - was completely fine and, as I said, everyone was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet modern. I enjoyed the ambient noise level. Not a stark place, yet not overly romantic either. A little nicer than most quick-casual places. Would be fine for a group and wouldn't hesitate bringing children as their fussing/ipad, etc would not interrupt the crowd. Pizzas come in one size - 10inches or so. Salads and apps can be enlarged based on want/need. I did not try the grandma pie nor the sandwiches, etc. but I'm sure they're very good as well. Slightly pricy when compared to the portion. But overall a very positive experience for those who enjoy this style of pizza. I'm staunchly a New Haven style person - or - the NY/NJ strip mall (football pizza) style. I'd be happy to come back if friends want to meet there. And I may bring by family if they want to try it. However, if I'm in Torrington, will be difficult to sway me from the coal-fired option in town. Very good. Definitely should try. read more

We love Pizzeria Marzano! My husband and I first stumbled upon it for a date lunch out and were surprised at how great the food was, the ingredients were fresh and portions generous. Dining is on the casual side, you order at the counter from a range of Italian appetizers, salads, paninis and pizzas. There is a child's pizza also. Lunch specials all week and Daily specials. The staff is very friendly and helpful, kid friendly but still nice enough for a work lunch or friends lunch out. I have had several varieties of their pizza, the spinach and artichoke dip and salads and everything has been good. Highly recommend! read more

We have gotten pizza carry out a few times from here. I'm a big fan of the thick crust pizza from time to time. We get the spicy salami as well and it's so filling and tasty. When I was really craving carbs we tried the focaccia which was basically just the dough and garlic sauce to dip. Sometimes you just need extra carbs and it hit the spot! read more

A friend introduced me to Pizzeria Marzano years ago, and it's been a favorite ever since! This is the best Neapolitan pizza I've had in Connecticut. When you walk inside, you can grab a menu to mull over, and order at the counter when you're ready. My go to order is a Margherita pizza and the kale Caesar salad. Stop in for a bite, or order online and take it to go. I live about 25 minutes away from Torrington and I can say everything I've gotten from there travels well. Anyone that follows my decades long reviews knows I am a self proclaimed pizza elitist and devout New Haven style apizza disciple. So with that said, I found this spot decent not rave worthy. IMO it has a stronger concept than its actual pie. The tomatoes completely lacked the tang I'm always seeking when I have Pizza. I couldn't feel the love. It's presented beautifully. It looks promising with its billowy bubbly edges slightly charred and glistening mozzarella. But we were left feeling underwhelmed. Pizza should be satiating and comforting with tang and crunch, and buttery, salty, cheesiness. These pies only slightly gave some of those flavors and textures. The interior is warm, industrial meets old world Italian. Bathrooms were immaculate. The service was just OK. We found their set up confusing: You order the pizza at the counter, choose a drink of choice, but they bring the pizza to you. Other than that you feel like you're on your own. It isn't a deli, it's a restaurant. My experience and POV. There is outdoor seating so it's a decent spot to grab a pie and chill with friends. read more

2nd time here. Recently back from Italy. The pizza? No question, just like Naples. Excellent. Delicious. It was a beautiful day so we wanted to sit outside. Oddly enough, and you wouldn't think this upon entering, and it doesn't (clearly) anywhere, that you have to order at the counter then sit and wait for your food. You also get to serve yourself fountain drinks. The covers don't easily fit the cups and don't do so without crushing everything a bit. We went at 2 in a Saturday. The young lady behind the counter clearly didn't want to be there. She and another worker ignored us for a while then finally said something barely intelligible about ordering at a tablet at the counter and then when we tried to order at the tablet said, oh, I'll take your order. We got a Caesar salad, margherita pizza and a Milano without chicken. The salad is $15 for two which is ridiculous, even in these times. The pizzas were excellent except that the Milano had something spicy on it that wasn't listed in the ingredients, which could be dangerous for some. read more

Great Neapolitan style pizza! It is the perfect size if you are extra hungry or want a slice or two for leftovers. The crust is super fluffy and I enjoyed the honey hot drizzle. Marzano's pizza was a little heavy handed with the salt and parmesan cheese, but the crust was quite fluffy and had a good char. Unfortunately, the sauce was watery and it was overpowered by the parmesan cheese. Nonetheless, the sausage tasted like hamburger for some peculiar reason. With that said, I've had far worse pies than this before, but for me to reconsider my review some serious changes would have to be made for me to try this pizza again. This has been a long time favorite of ours. But recently it has had a down turn in a couple of ways. My favorite, the "Grandma's Pie" (a thick crust Sicilian style) has not been right for a few months now. The crust is no longer rising high and it is now flat, gummy and chewy. Also they consistently overcook it. It used to be so like the street pizza in Italy, now it's not that. The thin crust pies are consistently good, thankfully. They have a nice, slight char on the edge of the crust. Good quality San Marzano tomatoes are used in their red sauce. Flavors are spot on. But here's what happened to our party of 4 today at lunch. We arrived at 11:30 (when they open) to beat the rush. We ordered. One got their slice of Grandma's Pie within 10 minutes, give or take. Next, one got her caprese sandwich about 10 minutes later. Two to go! I got mine (a Margarita pizza) at least 10 minutes after. And finally, our birthday girl got hers approximately 10 minutes after that! It was a good half hour or more between the first person getting served till the last got served. They blamed it on the pizza ovens. But why not hold on and serve all the food at the same time? Yeah, it's not fine dining and the young people running the show seemed clueless and uninterested. No more Grandma's Pie for us and no more dining in. Still the best thin crust pizza in Torrington. Having recently been to Naples, I wanted only one kind of pizza. It was a rainy night and crowded, but we sat at the bar and put in our order. We had a great view of the oven and everyone working hard. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a Caprese pizza. The Caprese was excellent! The Margherita was flavorful and good. I personally would have liked it better with a bit more sauce and a little more cheese. All in all, it definitely satisfied my craving for a pizza from Naples. read more

Bringing Naples to the neighborhood is their saying, and it's definitely true. This authentic wood fired oven pizzeria has the Italian taste you're looking for. The restaurant is more like an eatery, where you order and pay at the register, then sit down to eat, but the hospitality and service here is amazing. My favorite greeting was the server telling me the drink special, of buy one beer get a refill for 5 cents! Yes, you heard that correctly! They have local brewery options on tap, which made me even happier. I tried the Legitimus IPA and was given a poker chip for my refill. We had the Marzie bread to start. A homemade focaccia bread with a roasted garlic spread with fontinella cheese and a side of dipping sauce. They also have various individual signature pies for one, or a Sicilian style, grandma's pie with a thicker crust, and a little more love that feeds 2-4 so you can share with the family. We chose to try both. The Ray Jr., (a white pie) with meatballs, caramelized onions, and ricotta. And then the custom-made grandma pie, with red sauce, half meatball/ half cheese. The pizzas were phenomenal. After trying a little bit of everything, we had to get dessert too. The homemade tiramisu was light and creamy and absolutely delicious. Great authentic Neapolitan style pizza! The crust was thin towards the inside, fluffier towards the outside, which I enjoyed, and we thought the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. The Margherita DOC had a great flavor, and their special in November was called the "Couch Potato". It was super tasty, and it's too bad it's not a permanent menu item! They nailed their wings too. This place is AMAZING! The pizza is the main attraction but the bread. The bread is hard at the edges but soft in the middle creating that perfect bite. The pizza is saucey. A lot of tomato sauce on it. The place was also loud and right next to the bad chipotle next door. A lot of people came and overall this place is pretty good. read more

I don't think I can overstate how scrumptious it was. The atmosphere is cool with black metal, glass, brick, and wood. You order at the counter but it has very sit-down restaurant vibes. Child friendly as well. They had several high chairs available and no one batted an eye at the few toddlers that came through while we were there. The staff were lovely. They took good care of us and you could tell through the amazing cleanliness of the dining room and bathroom that they take pride in the restaurant. But when the pizza came to the table my hopes were crushed. I was expecting a little burn, but this pizza was way overdone. I also thought the mushrooms tasted very strange and I like mushrooms.
