I loved my visit here. I will definitely be back. I grew up in northern NJ in an era of family businesses. In fact, it was common in the 80's and 90's to see multiple generations working to provide their customers the best... I had that experience yesterday. Upon walking into the spotless dining room, I saw Nonna/Mom/Great Aunt in the first booth looking over the operation while the next generation was busy in the kitchen - and working in concert with the youngest family member who was working the floor. Fantastic. So friendly, so heartwarming. I also watched as "regulars" came in for their dinner. They ALL stopped by the kitchen entry to say hello to all employees and each employee greeted them by name. I hope to one day achieve this status. The food was good. I had a side salad, fried calamari, and a small pizza (half plain, half pepperoni and ricotta). Everything was fresh, tasty, and really well cooked. I was very happy to be a part of a dinner service there. I am looking forward to trying an entree - I have a craving for veal... maybe later this week. My only knock on my experience is that their sauce is very simple, and, in my opinion, lacks a little tang to stand up to the pizza cheese and toppings. But the crust was almost clinically perfect. My half pepperoni and ricotta side was slightly floppy in the middle - but I have to take responsibility for that as it was a tough order. Each half of my pizza cooks much differently. Purchased a pizza pie, an order of meatballs and a eggplant parm dinner with ziti and a salad. The food was just out of the oven, hot and fresh. When I returned home, the food was devoured. It was tasty, plentiful and perfect. Happy I found this restaurant, and will be back. read more

We just moved into the area and have been trying all the pizza places in town. We're from Long Island so we consider ourselves pizza snobs. This place blows all the other places out of the water. I always get a cheese pie with crispy chicken and pesto on half. Have tried a few pastas as well and they have all been good every time. The owners are really nice and accommodating. Nice people, they work real hard and deserve every dollar they make. Pizza is thin and crispy, they way I like it. But one thing that can use improvement. I ordered a chicken parm sub. Bread was toasted, chicken was ok, but there was no sauce on the sandwich. Dry like a bone. I added my own sauce since I took it home, but the cook needs to know sauce is a must on a hot sub. read more

Serendipity! That's all I can say.... This was a happy accident indeed. We stopped here on a whim and what a whim it was! Litchfield Pizza serves up a superb pie. The sauce was excellent, the sausage tasted great, and it was a good quality. Moreover, the amount of cheese made the pie, and the crust was spot on New York style. This is one of my top pizza spots in the area. I usually do take out, but the interior seems to be very clean and spacious. The crust is on the thin side (my personal favorite) and the double cheese is deliciously gooey with a fair sauce to cheese ratio. Parking is right outside the restaurant, which is part of a larger (small) plaza. read more

Moving to Litchfield County from New York has been a gastronomical disaster. The area is beautiful and the people are relaxed and friendly but I couldn't find a decent, NYC-style thin crusted gas-oven-baked pizza anywhere. I know New Haven has some famous pizza but that's over an hour away, and I was mired in a deep pizza funk. But I finally found Litchfield Pizza on Route 202 between the villages of Litchfield and Bantam. Real crust that tastes like back in the Bronx. Decent sauce and mozzarella round out a good pie. No floppy slices here, they know how to make a real pie. Add the friendly staff to the pizza and I feel lucky to have found LP. They have a full menu and you can eat-in, but I have only had take-out. I did recently have a meatball hero/sub/grinder and it was OK, nothing overly special, but am willing to try other menu items. But the pizza is better than anywhere else in the area. read more

We hadn't tried this place since it first opened so we thought it was time to give it another try after hearing from other locals that it was really good. We were so happy we did. Food was fairly priced, ready on time, and cooked perfectly. We got the clams casino pizza (amazing!) and a half pepperoni and half cheese. You should know up front the full name of this establishment is Litchfield Pizza & Restaurant. That's important because the little spot along Hwy 202 (next door to Dutch Epicurean) is a lot more than just another pizza joint, although the guys here do serve a very fine New York-style pizza with thin crust, lots of cheese with a good, satisfying chew. And you'll find as many toppings as you can imagine. The the non-pizza menu really got our attention, rich and diverse starting with the best Chicken Orzo soup we've ever had! Thick, almost creamy, pungently flavored, deliciously "chickeny." Can't get enough of that. There are a variety of chicken, veal, and seafood dishes, some fine baked Italian meals (Eggplant Parmigiana, Baked Ziti, etc.) and some sandwiches, wraps and grinders if that's your preference. We're newcomers here, but we are bowled over by how good and fresh everything seems to be. The prices are certainly reasonable, and the servers are no-nonsense and obliging. It feels good in here. There's a very small wine and beer list, and while it does include Budweiser it offers a few better choices. The restaurant does take-out and dine-in; the latter features some simple wood tables and booths. We don't yet know if this is the best pizza to be found in these parts, but this spot has to be in the running. We'll update later. read more
