I opted for the beef fajita enchiladas, three for $17. With your typical rice and churro beans. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of meat in my enchiladas and cheese on top. Too often Tex Mex places seem to be cheap about the fillings. Putting just a little bit of salsa on top gives it a bit of a kick which really adds to the flavor. While I'm not the biggest Tex-Mex fan this place was pretty solid, and if you're in the area, like I happen to be tonight, worth going to. read more

Please go here if you want to be "robbed." A friend and I went here for lunch today and the lunch bill was $75.00. We had two entries, mine was the lunch Seafood Enchilada for $13.99. i also had the "house rita" for $8.00. My guest had a regular entrie, a "Malibu Rum" cocktail and one appetiser. That should be far below $75, unless you're attending a premier restaurant. They did not even give me an itemised receipt when I left. So I had no way to verify the cost of my different items. Hmmm. To top it off I called a couple hours later to discuss my bill and was told there was no management there to talk with and to call back in 30 minutes. I could only laugh. We had an amazing experience (per usual), the food was delicious and full of flavor! I ordered the special chilaquiles with eggs over easy and cecina on top -- chef's kiss! The green salsa had just the right kick, and the cecina was perfectly seasoned. We also tried the Pollo Limón recommended by the manager, which was tender and rich. Would get again! The service was 10/10! Friendly, fast, and super attentive. Romero's is a way below average nightmare of a restaurant. My Pambazo tasted great i really liked the flavor of the sauce on the french bread, the seasoning of the chorizo and potatoes was great. I opted for french fries instead of rice and beans during my visit. The staff is very friendly, very attentive and always ready to assist you, i didn't even have to ask for water they brought it out as soon as we sat down, awesome service. I decided to try the tres leches but was pretty disappointed, that was definitely not tres leches at least not the moist version im used to. Instead it was more of cheesecake/flan consistency which is usually not how tres leches should be in my opinion. Went for lunch and the flauta plate was 17.00 and I think the dabs of guacamole and sour cream added a few bucks. I received two flautas which were good not great. This should have been more of a 8.99 dish I received a small bowl of cold charo beans which contained about 6 beans and the rest broth. The chips and salsa are ok and the salsa bowl is fine but they don't fill it up. Therefore you have an empty bowl most of the time. The flour tortillas didn't seem home made. Very thick and bland. We have never had a bad meal here, their food is delicious (their chicken fajitas and potato egg and cheese breakfast tacos are my favorites). I will tell you this: Romero's Las Brazas is *not* the best food you'll ever have; HOWEVER, the charm, hospitality, and care this place puts into the experience you'll have is very nearly unmatched. Looking through the reviews, I was iffy on if I should visit. What sold me was a review of someone saying they came back to visit this joint after THIRTEEN YEARS. If a restaurant can stick in your mind for over a decade, I'd have to say they must be worth a try. And this place most definitely is. From the moment the custom wooden door opened, the entire dining room was vibrating with wonderful energy. There was a band going, a very charismatic gent who kept calling us "Princesa," gave us the special, and they even made a custom on-the-rocks marg for my roomie they typically only blend. The salsa is homemade, warm, yummy, and well-seasoned. The flautas surprised me with ACTUAL flavor! The rice and beans look unassuming, but they are well-seasoned as well and good. My chicken was pretty decent, wrapped in a warm, homemade flour tortilla. My roommate got mole and I've gotta say, her dish was great. Not too sweet, like some moles usually are, because this one packs spice as the flavor develops. Honestly, I'd consider it to be a pretty surprising and complex dish considering this restaurant is just your local place. All that being said, I hope it becomes our place for years to come. As for the entree, I tried the enchiladas de mole. The rice and beans tasted very authentic, the mole was also delicious it's just missing a bit of flavor for my taste but over all I really enjoyed the meal and would definitely come back for another dish The place was clean and the staff was very polite and attentive. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Fernando and made feel welcome. For drinks we ordered some coffee and appreciated that it was made fresh! Located on HWY 6, near 1960 in a small plaza and all the way on the corner next to a doggy store that sells treats and other dog-gifts. Friendly service, warm, and cozy environment, with booths and a mid-second level with a bar and some more tables...they have some amazing salsa (green and red). We ordered the enchiladas and a few other dishes and enjoyed good food with great company. Pretty spacious parking lot as there are other surrounding businesses next to the restaurant, and they have a small patio! A return to this place after a 13 year pause. Way too long, I know right? Well, my coworkers love this place and I am glad they had me with them. The salsa has a kick to it and I love when I can taste it. I used the salsa to kick my tacos up a notch. The cheese enchilada was great and didn't need anything extra. The beans were cheesy and the rice was tasty. They have drink options if you're up for a little happy hour. They also have a great sweet tea if you like that too! I rarely stop at a place that has under 4 stars but we really had a craving for menudo and pozole and this was the only place we could find after a bad experience at another restaurant where we walked out of. LET ME START OFF... This place should not have a rating below 4.5. First time here, and we walked in and what I can assume is the owner or manager greeted us with an amazing smile and welcomed us right in. We sat down and looked at the menu and we instantly decided we needed to come again and try more. Watching all the plates come out to other table, everything looked and smelled amazing. We ordered coffee, water and an iced tea. Everything came out fast and fresh and the coffee was perfectly hot. We ordered queso flameado, and our soups. Everything was seasoned perfectly and so good. The pozole was wonderful and not oily at all. I wish they had radish with it but when it's this good, I don't care. My husband loved the menudo and it was just what we were looking for. The inside was packed and very busy. This did not take away from the attention we received from our server, who was friendly and attentive. Never having to ask for a refill. This is always a staple breakfast meal for the weekend. The salsa is actually my favorite along with the green spicy salsa "WOW". The breakfast tacos can get quite greasy but maybe you need a little bit of grease to start your day. The prices are reasonable on some items while others can be exaggerated. Not in a good way either, no emphasis on urgency or friendly warm welcome and if you want to request a green sauce, good luck with the extremely long wait! We are repeat customers for the green sauce and every visit we request the green sauce in a bigger container because we eat a lot of the green spicy sauce. Nope. Request is never taken, we run out of green and sitting there with an empty plastic container. Food quality is low. Tried the beef fajitas yesterday, ordered this as rare beef with charro beans and rice. Rice was mushy and tasted lukewarm at best. Charro beans were the most flavorful item. Beef fajita was overcooked, no red on the meat. Ordered green sauce from multiple people, had to wait a long time for someone to come through. Ordered an extra plate from the food runner, he just looked at us and never brought an extra plate. Overall, all the servers don't seem nice and not the most hospitable to the customers. Have ordered here quite a few times in the past - 80$ delivery order (fajitas for 2 and a kids taco and flan / not only did they forget the tortillas (the primary way to eat fajitas) the meat was almost gray and NO FLAVOR. So i've been going to Romero's ever since I was a kid, then moved away and now i'm back in the old neighbor hood and the food, service and hospitality has stayed up-to par. The beef fajita tacos are amazing and the red salsa is always a hit. So I forgot something when I placed my order and I called the restaurant to let them know, to my surprise, they gave me two options. 1) Refund you for the item or 2) We can bring you the item. I hesitated and responded, "to my house" they confirmed. Oddly enough in the blink of an eye someone was at my house with the item. Never would have thought that.
