I had 2 friends that had adopted their cats through Precious Pets, so I decided to look into them and I'm so happy I did! I love that they're a foster-based rescue. The application process was lengthy but integral to finding the best fit for our family. I appreciated that they took the time to "vet" us and figure out what would work best for our family. It showed me that they truly care about where their animals go and want the absolute best outcome for them. We were looking for a cat to join our 2 cat, 1 toddler (at the time) home. We went to visit a litter of kittens that were about ready to be adopted out at their foster home. We initially were interested in one of the boys, but one of the girls ended up stealing our hearts at the meet & greet. The foster was able to tell us more about their personalities since she helped raise them, and I really appreciated her insight because it helped us pick the best cat for our family. We needed a gentle and patient cat for our growing family. Sesame came home with us a few weeks later and we just love her so much! She has grown up to be one of the most calm and gentlest cats I've ever met - sweet and curious and sometimes mischievous too. She loves her people & two older cat brothers - we couldn't imagine our lives without her now! I truly believe that Precious Pets giving Sesame a safe and healthy foster home to grow up in helped shape her into the wonderful cat she has become.

Yvonne has a wonderful way with dogs and is very equipped to deal with challenging dogs.  Darby quickly warmed up to her because she knew the right way to interact with him.  He quickly learned to trust and LOVE her.  She has become his favorite person by far!  She has helped us immensely by teaching us how to meet Darby where he is at and engage him.  Make no mistake- you have to do the work if you want your dog to get better. It is HARD WORK.  But you will have a knowledgeable, funny, and caring teacher right behind you if you work with Yvonne.   Darby is still working very hard, but he has made such huge strides. In a year, we went from a dog who was snapping and growling at us to joining a group class!!!  We never thought this would be possible!!!  We just can't believe he is the same dog!  We just finished the Basic class with Yvonne and it was fantastic.  The Avondale location is spacious, so you have plenty of space to work with your pup and the homework is helpful and just enough- not too overwhelming. It is great value for the price! I can't say enough positive things about experience. If you have a challenging pup, this is the place.  There is hope. Thank you, Yvonne and Anything is Pawzible!

WOW! I finally hit 500!…read more I wanted to make this review special--something that's close to my heart (just like my other 100 markers!). For those of you who know me, know that I love my pooch Ryno. He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and yes, is treated like royalty. I have yet to meet a Cavalier that hasn't been sweet, awesome, and overall just a great catch! I have not adopted from this rescue, but know people who have, I've also met a few people affiliated with the rescue at various meet ups and dog shows throughout IL and even WI. :-) You couldn't ask for a bunch of better people! Here's a little about their mission (taken from their website): GCCR's mission is to help ensure the health and security of abused, abandoned, and otherwise endangered Cavalier King Charles Spaniels by rehabilitating and placing Cavaliers from shelters and similar situations, by assisting breeders and owners in finding new homes for their Cavaliers, and by providing to the public educational materials and consultation regarding Cavalier health and care. The growing popularity of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels has prompted increased breeding by unscrupulous breeders and puppy mills. This development suggests that owners' concerns about health as well as the number of Cavaliers in need will only grow. Placement of Cavaliers in new homes without appropriate, knowledgeable veterinary testing may result in unforeseen, serious heartaches for new owners. The GCCR as well as other dedicated Cavalier rescuers and owners are here to help.

We cannot thank Dr. Alia Habhab, DVM, and the team at Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital enough…read morefor the incredible care they gave our bird, Mikey. On Memorial Day morning, Mikey broke his leg, and we were terrified. Because of the holiday, no other exotic animal hospitals were open, and no emergency vet was willing to treat him. Dr. Habhab and her team scheduled us immediately without hesitation. From the moment we arrived, they were kind, compassionate, and incredibly empathetic toward both our stress and Mikey's well-being. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made us feel confident that Mikey was in the best possible hands. What stood out to us most was that, during such a stressful emergency, they made Mikey's care and comfort feel like the priority rather than making us feel pressured or overwhelmed about payment upfront. Of course veterinary care comes with costs, but their compassion and professionalism during such an emotional situation meant so much to us. They performed a same-day amputation at a very reasonable cost, and Mikey was able to come home the very next morning. Most importantly, he is now thriving and adapting so well. We are beyond grateful for the exceptional care, professionalism, and compassion we experienced during such a scary situation. Thank you to Dr. Habhab and the entire team for helping save Mikey and giving him such a positive outcome.

The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. The classes are incredibly valuable too. The results speak for themselves.
