Alaska Roll
Laura F.

Its hard to find a sushi place with a 100% health department score. Im picky about everything Sushi and its the first thing I look at when I try a new place. It needs to be clean and they need to follow the rules. We noticed Ronin's had a 100% flawless one and headed that direction. Its a little difficult to find but after missing the street we quickly figured out where it was and got to it without too much of a hassle. Service was quick. There are two seating options: inside and outside. It was 90 degrees at 2 pm so we opted to eat inside We had actually come from Dublin Tavern which is excellent btw but we just had salads with no protien and we were craving sushi... or, should I say "I was craving sushi" and my husband was very accommodating to that request. Since this was an after thought meal we just ordered one roll each. I chose the lollipop roll and he chose the Alaskan roll. Alaskan is seaweed wrap, rice, salmon, cucumber, avocado. Nice sized roll and for 6.95 I was impressed by everything in it, presentation portion and quality 5+++/5. Excellent. The lollipop roll: salmon, tuna, crab, avocado rolled in thin cucumber. Skewered together looks like a lollipop. Very creative. Very generous potions. Nice presentation. Sizing was a bit too big for my preference. Hard to eat. Do not recommend eating it in one bite... you may choke. Lol. (Seriously.) I also ordered one order of tuna sashimi. That is three HUGE pieces of high quality raw tuna. No rice. You get your money's worth. I would order that again and again. Yum. We (I) stopped in the restroom just to get a peek. So clean!!! I am impressed. We will bring people next time. Yum

Cucumber Salad with Pozu & Cashewnut

Got takeout and this was the cucumber crab salad. They did a really sloppy job with all of my food. Do not order from here!

Criminally underrated sushi spot in columbus. Maki combo for lunch is probably the best deal you'll find in the area and you'll get fresh ingredients to go with that. Have not had a sub-par experience with service.

My husband and I frequent this place a lot. I am an absolute fan of their sushi lunch combo. You get the option of two or three rolls plus soup at a very reasonable price. This place is worth checking out if you're craving sushi. Although it's not "omg" level, it is still pretty tasty. We first discovered it during COVID times, and their dining room was closed, so we've only ever had it as take out. I think they finally opened up their dining room though.

Always have a good experience here, sushi always tastes fresh and presented neatly. The service is always quick and friendly from the staff. One of my 1# spots for affordable good quality sushi! :)

I couldn't be happier that Ronin is finally open for dine in again! I used to come here all the time before COVID. Following COVID they were takeout only for a couple of years. Which made it difficult since I live a ways away. But they are open again and to my surprise the high quality and large portions have not changed! There were not a lot of people dining in, only about 2-3 tables at a time. Which made the ambiance a bit weird. I think them being takeout only for so long really hurt their dine in business. Before COVID they had a buy one get one half off rolls happy hour, which included complimentary edamame. I'm not sure if this exists anymore. It'd be a bummer if not. The server was helpful and attentive. Sake selection was pretty limited, but cocktails are good. Everything was excellent and Ronin is back on my top 5 list for best sushi spots in central Ohio!

I had Ronin bookmarked to try for a while now. Then Yelper Lisa D reminded me yesterday why I wanted to try it again. My husband was craving sushi so we ordered it online off their website. He got two rolls which was like 16 pieces of sushi. I got the mango chicken and hot and sour soup. My meal was so good I could barely finish it all. I will definitely try the Rock n Roll sushi next time I come again. My husband wants to get the Dragon Roll next time. So you know we will definitely be back soon to get our sushi fix.

This is a good place but nothing great. The service was excellent, everything got here quickly, and I didn't have to look for the server even once. I ordered two specialty rolls and a hot and sour soup; it was a ton of food. The sushi is not top-notch, but not bad. I didn't have a ton of expectations, and I wasn't disappointed. The rolls are pretty big and they look awesome, as for the taste they are ok. I felt that it was overall a good experience and a good value for the money.

We have literally walked by this place dozens of times and never stopped in. Decided to order in tonight and I was so impressed with the quality of the sushi. I ordered the Pro Ronin Combo which comes with 5 pieces of nigiri and the Sunset Roll which is mixed crab, avocado topped with salmon and it's amazing! The fish was all so fresh and the rice was soft yet sticky and didn't fall apart. The nigiri was also delicious! And the meal comes with miso soup as well and I wasn't able to even finish it all and for under $20 that is a steal. My husband got the vegetable lo mein and the veggie spring rolls. I had a few bites and they were definitely tasty! The edamame was also enjoyable. Would definitely recommend Ronin and glad we ended up giving them a try!

A…read morescene of gastronomic precision, where the bar staff performed with the attentiveness of a seasoned quarterback under pressure. The cocktails? Each sip a touchdown of flavor. Enter the appetizer: a colossal bowl of Edamame, those humble soybeans elevated to a salty symphony. And then, like a prizefighter entering the ring, the Gyoza arrived, six pork dumplings, each a masterpiece of Japanese culinary artistry. Delectable, unparalleled, a knockout punch to the palate. But wait, the final play was yet to come. The Philadelphia Roll a triumvirate of smoked salmon, cucumber, and cream cheese graced the table. Was it merely a sushi roll? No, my friends, it was the culinary equivalent of a Hail Mary pass--bold, daring, and executed to perfection. The finest in Dublin? Without question. In conclusion, what we witnessed was not just dining; it was an epicurean event, a celebration of flavor and craftsmanship. Truly, a performance worthy of standing ovation. Bravo!

Our food took a little longer to come out, but the waiter apologized and kept checking in, which I appreciated. I enjoyed the meal and felt good about the overall quality. Where I hesitated was the value. For the prices they charge, I expected portions that felt a little more generous. I know a few sushi spots that offer the same level of freshness for less, so it's hard not to compare. The food is great, but the price point didn't fully match what came out on the plate. Still a solid spot if you're focused on quality and freshness.

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.
