Super Dry rice and steak overcooked
    Jen K.

First time here...and honestly, was disappointed. The fast/casual restaurant is located at Georgesville and Holt Rd. connected to a Subway sandwich shop. The parking was nice, you can pull right up to the door basically. This is nice for people that may have difficulty walking, etc. The server taking my order was pleasant and patient. I ordered why I normally would order at a Japanese steak house, House of Japan or Gengi Go, Steak hibachi. I had high hopes when she asked how I wanted my steak done. I ordered medium well. I probably should have ordered medium. The rice and steak were so well done that they were dry with no flavor. The mushrooms, cabbage and zucchini were the star, but unfortunately you get very little veggies. They each cost $1 to add. I did like the yum yum and ginger sauces. They were absolutely necessary due to the rice so dry and possibly old and the steak being so well done also. I very likely won't return with locally owned hibachi places close by that are consistently good. Unfortunately, not a fan.

This is the best hibachi to me in all of Columbus :) and they love Jesus!!! Syalom is awesome and she genuinely cares and is not in a rush to hurry you up and order.

Sushi roll with the infamous sakura sauce (egg yolk sauce).

I have a long and deep love for hibachi. My favorite restaurant unfortunately closed (the uncle of my friend who owned the restaurant passed away, and they couldn't make it with out him). It was cool because I got to eat with the chefs on their breaks when they made the employee lunches. Anyways, I digress. I've tried many places, and they never came close to my friends restaurant (Shi Chi). One major is I have found is that none of them served Sakura sauce (egg yolk sauce). They all have that yummy yummy, which is good, and let's not forget the ginger sauce. This place has the best sauces and options for everyone. But that sakura sauce, is just wow! The restaurant was very clean, with a large fish tank with some absolutely beautiful creatures within. The staff is absolutely amazing, helpful, kind, true interactions. The best vegetables, sauces ( I even like their yummy yummy, I normally don't. And their ginger sauce is to die for. Either way, if you are craving some "Japanese" food, this is the place. I drive 45 min to go there. It's worth it, you must try it..... so get going, and check out the dessert counter, because, yea.....

    a tray of food

Food: I ordered steak hibachi and we had a whole talk about the way the steak can be cooked and it was over cooked and a pretty small portion was also offered vegetables with the hibachi then was charged for every single type of vegetable they included and the rice wasn't even completely mixed Service: the female cashier was getting smart and was rushing us to hand the money over Overall I wouldn't come here again

I don't know if it's more the food or more the wonderful Lady behind the counter! She is the "heart" of the business. Very casual Hibachi diamond in the rough. Grove City seems to have them on every corner and this one by far is my absolute favorite! I only frequented those places a couple times a year for mostly special occasions. Today I showed up in an OSU hoodie and basketball shorts and ate outside on one of the picnic type tables with my 2 tweens in tow. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice with Teriyaki sauce, Steak Fried Rice with a side of Chicken, double Egg Yolk Sauce, and crab Rangoon. Portions are enough for a couple meals. The Crab Rangoon wasn't too sweet, which I enjoyed. For the quality and quantity, the prices are very reasonable. The establishment isn't very big at all. I noticed a slew of takeout patrons while we ate; many were regulars noticeably. The only people who were sitting were waiting in line for their food. It takes 5-7 minutes to prepare your food when eating in because everything is made fresh to order. As a matter of fact, just writing this review has me warming up my leftovers!

Every time I'm in town I try to hit up this place! You can't beat the proportions and taste! Their scallops are my favorite and they are always super friendly!

This restaurant is very yummy!!! Every time I come here, the cashier lady is very welcoming and sweet! They give you more than enough food!, they always give you a sneak peek of your food before leaving, and pricing is good! I add a lot of black pepper, but the portion is more than other restaurants

Very delicious. There is a reason it stays consistently busy. Fair prices. I uploaded a photo of the menu because the one on Yelp is outdated.

We were the only ones in the restaurant bedides a bar tender and hostess. The grill was immediately turned on but they asked us to wait 10 minutes to see if anyone else would arrive. We agreed, placed our order and received our salad. The restaurant was bright, open and clean. This is our first visit. The ginger dressing was very mild, heavy on the Mayo and thin. Yet still very good. Our chef arrived a few minutes later and my husband's fried rice was the first item prepared. We both agreed it was excellent. Our chef's mastery if the twirling utensils was fun to watch! The salmon was heavily seasoned but delicious and still pink inside; just how I like it! Hubby's shrimp was lightly seasoned and delicious. Food was spot on, service was great and we were happy. Negatives: Egg yolk sauce rasted more like a fried egg not the artery clogging butter and egg yolk rich yumminess we were expecting. Sticky floors: As I was leaving the table, I noticed my shoes were really stinking to the floors. I stopped in the restroom and the stickiness was much worse. I noticed that the walls are stained black for the first 3 inches off the floor telling me they have been mopped using dirty water over and over again. The person mopping slops that dirty water against the edge of the floor/wall. That stain also appeared in the front entry. Other than the floor, the bathroom was fairly clean. We would return next time we travel to this side of town.

And for 4 people it was only $125 that includes 3 alcoholic drinks. I had the veggie dinner, they had the shrimp, the steak and just fried rice and salad. The seaweed salad was really worth trying. I would definitely be coming back. Thanks for a a wonderful experience.

Our chef came out and recited our orders and went over the allergy changes and the gluten free request. He covered all of them great. Everything was separated from each other so the sauces didn't cross. He was as enthusiastic and friendly as you want your Hibachi chef to be. The portions were PLENTIFUL. Plus, I figured hibachi can take awhile, and I usually don't have a long time for lunch. Today I had a little more time, and I made a point to head over. It is a bit out of the commercial sprawl at the corner. Look for the food truck, that's the first thing I saw, and it helped me find where to turn in. I wasn't sure if there would be dine in, but there is, plenty of seating inside and out. Inside there are seats at the counter, plus booths, plus I think a couple tables. Menu is pretty basic: hibachi and a few sides. I got steak and chicken, with fried rice, and you pick two vegetables so I picked cabbage and bean sprouts. You get a Yum Yum sauce, and you can add others, but I didn't need them. And the sauce container they gave me was plenty big. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavorful, cooked in a nice sauce. The fried rice was great. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And it all came out in about five minutes. They had a steady stream of carry out customers, but they still got mine on the grill, apparently as soon as I ordered it. Fast and good, and competitively priced for hibachi. A big portion, but not a huge, two days' worth of leftovers portion. But I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. When I saw the drink cooler with just water and a few juices, I figured I'd have to go with those, but they do have fountain drinks. And they actually have a pretty good variety, cola, diet cola, cream soda, blueberry, cherry I think, and a few others. Anyway, several pleasant surprises, the food lived up to its reputation, I was in and out fast, and for not a whole lot of money in this day and age. I will be back.

You order and pay at the kiosk and wait for them to bring it out to you. Our food took about 8 to 10 minutes. It looks clean inside, is brightly lit and the staff are very friendly and polite. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai which was quite delicious, one of the better versions in town. I counted 8 large shrimp covered by both thin and medium wide noodles which was odd and made it a little heavier but it worked for me on a certain level. The flavors were spot on Thai with that delicious mix of sweet, sour and salty. My only suggestion would be to get a little more scrambled egg and bean sprouts to lighten the heaviness of the rice noodles. My main sticking point is that they apparently don't offer lunch portions. The portions are dinner sized @ $17.99 but it's just far too much food for me and I'm not a fan of leftovers. Add a mini Pepsi @ $2.50 and tax and I had a nearly $21 lunch at a strip mall carryout? Ouch! Not great, but good. I got pad see yew, somewhat rare even on Thai menus, and one of my favorites. Big portion, decent flavor. But not as good as other local versions of pad see yew. I chose spice level 3, and it was appropriate- spicy but not crazy. Order at the counter or on the kiosk. Basically Thai classics and hibachi, as you might expect from the name. Prices, though... Yikes. Sticker shock is the norm lately, but these were higher even than I would expect. And the base price does not include protein. Well, it seems to include chicken, and any other option is extra. Not uncommon, but the base prices elsewhere are usually lower. Portions are pretty big, though. I had enough for two meals. So figure that in. Drinks were also expensive- $3 for a 16-oz pop bottle (and only slightly cool, not cold.) $2.50 for a "mini." Ridiculous. I had intended to get crab Rangoon, but was scared off by the entree's price. I was thinking "next time," but it was so expensive and the food just wasn't amazing, so I probably won't be back. It's a haul for me. If it is handy for you, check it out.
