The technician, Dennis arrived right on time. He checked & cleaned my furnace preparing it for the winter. Dennis was kind enough, since I was a new homeowner to answer all my questions, make recommendations on filters and review my thermostat with me. Everything is the customers fault with this company. The owner talks to you like you're beneath them when you question their work or judgment call. You are right I am not a expert in heating and cooling that is not my profession. I hired another company turns out there was a leak in the fiberglass tape that caused the issue. Ron's heating blamed the builders saying not enough insulation or etc. Well you're wrong. You guys come to my house for 10 minutes . Yes it's on camera you can say different but it shows when you stepped in the doors and drove off. Total 12 minutes. You guys want to charge me a diagnostic fee FOR WHAT? You guys didn't diagnostic the issue another company did within 30 minutes. Get a second opinion before hiring this company because they are a one sided company and that side only Benefits them. I have my newborn room with improper heat coming into the room. It's 61 degrees when the house is set to 70 degrees and they blame the builders when it was due to their issue that they didn't even diagnose another company did. JOKE of a company. I tried paying the diagnostic fee that I honestly shouldn't because they rushed and didn't even spend the time to figure out the cause. They wanted to charge me a 3% fee for a debit card. Then they tried to charging me for a visit the the prior owner did and never collected on me. I can't praise this company enough. They originally installed our home's HVAC system, and when it started acting up last fall (after 7 years), we called another, more local service. That tech tried to convince us that the coil was failing, suggesting a $4-5K replacement. Ron's came out in the spring, did a tune-up, but couldn't replicate the problem. Recently, with the hot weather, the system started acting up again. Despite a packed schedule, they called us when another customer canceled and sent someone out. He quickly identified a clogged drainage hose (due to a dead bug) and fixed it for less than $150! They could have overcharged us but didn't. We're customers for life! read more

We first used Ron's Heating and A/C last summer when our central a/c went out. We were new to the area, so we asked our neighbor if she could recommend someone. She had heard of Ron's, but had never personally used them. They installed a new a/c unit, and we were pleased with their work and our new system. This past January, the 31'st, with record breaking temps, our furnace went out. We called Ron's, and they fit us into their busy schedule and sent Dustin and Dennis here. We were wearing our winter jackets in the house, and had the oven on for heat. At one point, they had to run to Rockford (an hour away) for a part. They spent about 4-5 hours here, but they stayed till we had heat. On February 19'th, we had Ron's come and install a new furnace. On March 1'st,we noticed that the furnace was blowing cold air. We called Ron's, and they sent Dustin (Ron's grandson) here to see what the problem was. When he got here, the furnace was no longer blowing cold air. He stayed about 45', could not find the problem, so he gave us his personal cell number and told us to give him a call if it started blowing cold air again. We noticed the same thing happening with the furnace over the weekend. It would blow cold air for 3-4 hours, dropping the temperature down to 55 degrees. We called Ron's on Monday morning, March4'th. This time, Dustin and his dad, Dennis, came out. Dennis thought it might be the our thermostat, so he installed a temporary thermostat. He told us to leave it set at 70 degrees and see if that was the problem. Also, these 2 visits would be at no charge to us. The same thing kept happening, even with the temporary thermostat. They had us email pics of the thermostat, recording the temperature drops. On Thursday, March 7'th, Dustin came out in the morning and hooked their thermostat on permanently . Also, Ron himself came out with the gas company. They switched out our meter with a new one, hoping this might be the problem. Still, later that afternoon, the furnace started blowing cold air and the temperature in the house started dropping. We called Ron's once again, and this time Dustin and Ron came to the house. This time, the furnace was still blowing cold air, so they got to see for themselves what we were experiencing. Ron made his way to the basement (using his cane, no less!) and checked on the furnace. He then called the company in Texas that made the furnace, and was on the phone with them for about one hour. After all this time, it turns out it was a bad/faulty igniter from the factory. Dustin went to his truck and got another igniter, switched them out, and, voila, problem solved! We haven't had any problems since. The company in Texas, and also Ron's company, said they had never had this happen before. When my husband called Ron's office the next morning to see what we owed them (for the new thermostat and their several visits,) he was told by Ron that would be no charge because of the inconvenience to us. In closing, I would say our experience doing business with Ron's was very positive. They are dependable, reliable and trustworthy, and take pride in what they do. Ron himself showed up when our furnace stopped working on a balmy 0 degree day. He got our heat fired back up in no time.
