I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND using Roof-Rite!! We had Roof-Rite replace our roof in 2018/2019. Before the replacement, I lived here about 10 years prior, I've never had any interior leaking until AFTER they replaced the roof. We've complained about it to Roof-Rite when we noticed water coming inside (2021). They did send out someone to "check", but they never found anything obvious, yet it was still leaking into the interior. I emailed Roof-Rite in 2022 about this issue the next winter, when it leaked again and explained this, but they basically told me to "go pound sand", because it was "an act of God" and they won't cover any damage. It wasn't until we had an exterminator out to capture a squirrel in our attic about 3 years ago, that the exterminator found a huge hole in the overhang/soffit crevice that butts up directly to the upper roof (house with upper & lower roofs, with multiple conjoined areas). This is where the squirrel was getting in. The exterminator did the best he could to fix it, and it was fine for a few years. Although, it's leaking again in 2026. Keep in mind, we've had extremely mild winters here in 2019 & 2020, along with 2022, 2023 & 2024, until this winter, 2025/2026. So, why was it that the exterminator, back in 2022, found a hole in that area that allowed squirrels to enter the attic space, and also allowed water intrusion? Roof-Rite would've found it, had they done their due diligence. Instead, the deflected, as if it was my fault and that I'm on my own. The common denominator here is Roof-Rite, and the lack of quality work/diagnosis, AFTER they did the work and were paid. Roof-Rite made it clear that they wouldn't do anything. read more

We hired Roof-Rite to do a complete shingle tear off, new roof install and gutter replacement as a proactive measure to a very aged roof. After a couple quotes and referrals from friends for the job, we chose Roof-Rite for a few reasons. They came recommended from a friend, the price was reasonable (middle of the 3 quotes), and Jeff was very accessible throughout the entire process. He thoroughly inspected the roof, our areas of concern and promptly provided color samples when asked. When the install day came, the work crew of about 4, led by Edgar, arrived by 7:00 am and began the process of preparing the area, removing the old shingles and underlayment (it's super loud!). They verified the plywood looked good so no additional replacement was necessary. By 3:00, they had the new roof up and cleaned up, getting most of the nails out of the yards (we found about 50 using a magnet roller ourselves after). We've gone and inspected a bit to find a few nails exposed without a complete caulk seal. But otherwise are very happy with the job done and the roof itself looks fantastic. Matt and crew came to do the gutters a couple days after once their schedule and weather permitted. Love the color match to the roof. Seems functional through a few hard rains we've had. read more

Bob L. 6/23/23 We hired Roof-Rite, in Walled Lake, Michigan, to do a complete tear off and new shingle installation. They also removed and replaced the gutter system. We obtained multiple bids for the job and selected Roof-Rite. They Have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. They are Master Elite Installers of the GAF shingles that we selected. Their price was very competitive compared to the other contractors. Most importantly, the project manager, Todd, was very knowledgeable, helpful and accessible throughout the entire project. Materials and a dumpster were delivered on the designated day. The work crew arrived early the next morning and covered the landscaping around the house with tarps. Removal of the shingles and underlayment was completed by noon and new shingles were installed by the end of the first day. A similar schedule was kept on the second day for the front of the house. The crew spent time cleaning up around the house on both days. The entire crew was cordial, professional and hardworking. The quality of work met our expectations and appears to be very well done. An issue that needed to be addressed was handled effectively and professionally by Todd Miller and Jim Brown. Forget Roof-Rite...they don't stand behind their work. They installed a tear-off roof at my mother's home and a few years later, she developed a leak in one of the back, corner bedroom ceilings. I called 10 times, left messages with the receptionist, never got a call back, they didn't stand up to their warranty...NEVER AGAIN! I ended up having to call a different roofing company to to the repair and they showed me the shoddy work that they did and had to repair/replace that area of the roof. I used them on several other jobs and the one time when I needed them to honor their warranty, I couldn't even get a return call. Use someone else for your roofing jobs. Preface: I received a letter from this company asking for reviews. In light of this I was not inclined to do so until I saw how badly others had trashed this company. I had a great experience with this company and just want to add my two cents. I have not and will not accept anything for this review, but want make sure that there is another point of view out there. This is a summary of a review I posted on Angie's List back in 2014. I hired this company to do a complete tear off and reshingling of my roof with owens corning duration shingles. They also added 6 extra roof vents. I worked with Chet S.and he truly seemed to care about his work. I had over 6 contractors come out and bid the job and he was one of the few that actually insisted on meeting me and walked me through every step of the process. In the end it was between Roof-Rite and one other company. The only thing the other company had over Roof-Rite was the price, but then Roof-Rite agreed to match the price and closed the deal. They had a dumpster delivered on a Monday, and the roof of taken off and redone on Tuesday. They also refastened my gutters. The crew came in and out and left the place like they were never there (save some scattered wood chips in my garage). My house is a little over 2,000 sq/ft and the job cost $5,900.00. I was extremely pleased with the service I received and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get a new roof done. read more

This company does not stand behind their work. Very disappointed. Roof rite installed roof and gutters a couple years ago, I have a problem with the gutters not set correctly, water just pours off the side. I've contacted the company multiple times. Woman in the office was very nice. They did eventually send a repair tech to look at the gutters. He agreed that they needed to be tilted, have taller sheeting and an added downspout. Tech said they would get back with me. Office person said they would get back to me. Despite calling and calling they've not returned my calls. read more

We hired a contractor 2 weeks after Roof-Rite replaced our roof because the gutters over-flowed each time it rained and Roof-Rite would NOT return our phone calls. The contractor found 3 buckets of materials (shingles, flashing, shingle granules, nails and cigarette butts) while cleaning out our gutters. Before we hired Roof-Rite that they ASSURED us that there would be NO clean up issues. I would NOT recommend Roof-Rite, Inc. unless you enjoy poor customer service. read more

We hired Roof-Rite to do a complete shingle tear off and new roof install. After getting 3 bids for the job, we chose Roof-Rite for a few reasons. They came recommended from a friend, the price was reasonable (middle of the 3 quotes), and the sales manager Chet was very knowledgeable, helpful, and accessible throughout the entire process. Chet spent the time to thoroughly inspect the roof and attic, explain all the products available, and made honest recommendations based on our wants/needs. He was able to answer all our questions, no matter how technical. It really shows that he's been in the business a while, and has been up on the roofs doing the work himself. When the install day came, the work crew of about 8, led by Alan, arrived by 8:30 and immediately set to work covering the landscaping around the house with tarps. The process of removing the old shingles and underlayment took most of the morning (be warned, it's brutally loud!). Once that was off, they replaced a small section of plywood that had a bit of water damage and then they were off. I was amazed at how quickly the new roof went up. By 5:00 they had the new roof up and spent the next 30 minutes doing clean up, including using a magnet roller to get most of the nails out of the yards. Pretty amazing amount of work in 1 day. I went up on the roof to inspect the job, and it was very well done. As with any job this big, they were a couple small items for them to repair... one screen rip, a broken piece of vinyl siding, and a couple loose trim boards. Alan came back a few days later and did a great job fixing all items. The quality of work met our expectations. Everything Chet had explained came together nicely... from the drip edges, venting strategy, even little details like painting the chimney stacks matte black to blend in. My only recommended improvements: 1) spend a bit more time on clean up and 2) Better communication between sales and project managers. They seemed a bit hurried at the end of the day and did miss some nails and debris. However, when they came back to repair the items noted above, they ran the magnet roller again. Regarding communication, some of the detailed parts of the job (ex. moving an exhaust vent, sealing gutters, etc.) didn't seem to be communicated well between sales and project manager prior to the job. I was glad I was home to explain those items to the project manager and ensure they were done. I have no doubt they would have been done either way, but just stay on top of those things. We paid a little extra for the Certainteed 5 star warranty, which gives worry free coverage for 50 years. We've had the new roof for about a month now and couldn't be happier. We've already recommended Roof-Rite to some neighbors, and will continue to recommend them. Overall, Roof-Rite was a pleasure to work with, and I would use them again for sure. read more

We were very impressed with their service- from Todd Miller, the sales manager who scheduled the work to Julio and his crew that did the roofing. They were first rate all the way. The roofing crew showed up when they promised and worked from 7:30 in the morning to 8:00 at night and they were back the next day at 7:30 to finish-up. The roof looks great. Went with this company based on a referral. The price was about what I expected but when the quote was provided it included a specific date of completion. I figured they would have not trouble with this date as I was one of the first client of the new year in 2018. They knew I needed it done to list my house on the market with a new roof. They started on time with a large crew. They didn't finish near the promised date. In fact the sales guy quoted 2 days. The first thing the actual workcrew leader say was it was a 3 day job. Did they say what I wanted them to hear? Well after 4 day was up and they were still not finished I was concerned. I didn't understand this since the neighbor had his roof replaced two years ago (same size house) and they were done in about 2 days with a similar size crew. I asked my daughter, who was home everyday they worked, and she said that they were not 100% engaged. In fact, she told me things that I don't want to type about their work crew. Maybe it was the fact that they didn't have another job to do and they wanted to milk the job by the hour through the main company. I was not impressed. It delayed my house going on the market for my first open house. The salesman said he would make it up by sending me a visa gift card. Well that was about 3 months ago and even after repeated reminders I have still not received the gift card. SO in summary I think the sales office talks a good game but can't always deliver what they say. Other concerns, the heavy truck to deliver the shingles cracked the driveway, and my newly finished deck had been marked up from the wood that they used to slide the old roofing down. PS - Yes the reply below is correct. It did rain but only twice and both were in the late afternoon time frame. One was understandable as it did rain a lot. One rain was a quick and passing shower. That is not why I'm adding to this review, but I need to add that the following question. Roof-Rite was referred by a social media page with good reviews. Set up the appointment in November for a quote and came in at the middle of the price points. Roof was installed in December within one day. By the time the job was done the grounds were left the same as if no one was ever there installing a roof. I would recommend Roof-Rite. read more

I contracted with this company in 2012 to replace our roof that was in bad repair and actually starting to leak a little. We received quotes from about 6 companies, and roof rite's quote was a lower than most, but 1 to 2 thousand dollars higher than the lowest 2 quotes. It was an affordable quote, but I just had a good feeling about the agent who came when we called, because he seemed sincere and knowledgeable and very straight forward. They did the job perfectly and our roof still looks as good today as the day they finished the job and still going strong more than 7 years later. Just sort of felt like I should write this review, because we definitely got our money's worth and my wife and I are really happy we hired this company. I contacted Paul Whorf from Roof Rite on 5.7.2015 to quote my 1 1/2 car garage to replace the shingles and roof vent. He quoted me and I agreed but had not signed an agreement to complete the job. I told him I wanted it done on a Saturday so I could be there at the house. His return emails were bossy, condescending and down right rude and the last email he sent to me on 5.14.2015 said: "Hi XXXXX, I will do my best. We schedule as best we can. My crew would rather do a 30 sq job & make $2,000 versus a 3/ 12 sq job making $500. So this may or may not work!" I have this email saved as proof. Really??? So because my job would only make his guys $500.00 instead of $2000.00, my job wasn't worth it??? Being customer focused and making customers happy and still making money is important in this day of age. Roof Rite's PAUL WHORF failed and for this reason I cancelled them doing my roof and asked him not to contact me again. Roof Rite may be a good company but do not deal with PAUL WHORF if you want to feel like your job is important and want to feel they'd do a good job. read more

The whole process from start to finish was fantastic ! We made contact with Roof-Rite at the Novi home show. Chet came out and checked out our roof then sat down and explained everything that they would do in detail. He is very easy to talk to and straight forward. The crew that was sent to do our roof were some of the hardest working people I have seen in a long time. Our roof was stripped and new shingles installed in one day. If we hadn't changed the color of our roof you would never know anyone was there. Everything was cleaned,no nails or debris anywhere. We could not be more pleased. I hired and paid Roof-Rite $15,000 to replace my roof and add new gutters. A portion of my roof is flat and needed a special rubber coating to seal. Well they sealed it but now there is 2 low spots and one is very low, spongy and collects a lot of water. The gutters leak on 2 of the ends and overflow in several places. I have called the owner personally 5-6 times who says they will call me back. Well from the very beginning I have been given a terrible attitude by Roof-Rite employees and it has made a bad situation worse having to deal with them. After my initial complaint they stopped returning my calls. Roof-Rite employees stole a brand new dog tie-down and leash I had in my backyard. They also damaged my foundation skirting and refused to repair it. Roof-Rite employees assumed I did not want my old gutters and took them for scrap without asking me. This has been a huge nightmare dealing with this company. If you want a roof done right I would not recommend Roof-Rite. read more

I had a new roof put on and I am very displeased with Roof-Rite. I wanted to like them I really did. They gave a very competitive price and made me feel as though I was actually a part of their family (I will give props to their sales team). They stated they have all their own crews who are very good (they do not and they were not). The crew showed up the day of installation and the crew manager complained to me that his crew never showed up on time (he showed up at 8 and the crew 930ish). They then proceeded to replace the roof. After the job was done the crew manager approached me, and reviewed what they did. He then asked me for a tip.. I was caught off guard and responded with an awkward joke (because I have never heard of this), "Sorry, I have no cash but I have a couple beers in the fridge if you really want them." The manager then said those would work (never offer a beer tip I guess) and took them. He also asked and pushed that I give him a check right then and there because he gets a bonus if he leaves with a check (I did their financing which is opening a credit card with 5th third..) He then solicited me for other home jobs (new cabinets, floors, any other work) for the next couple of days (he would call the next day asking for more work saying he would give Chet a referral bonus). I told Chet (Roof-Rite sales man I was working) with and he laughed about it.. Saying Roofers are crazy... After, I went into the attic to see how it looked (something I imagine few do) and did not like what I saw. They stated the quality was, "work we would post on our website" because nothing was wrong with it. After repeatingly being assured this was all up to code (which I did not believe) I went to my city building planner and asked him. It turned out that they only submitted the paperwork for a permit, they never actually received the permit (something that they agreed to do in our agreement) and the city inspector stated the repair job was, "Absolutely unacceptable." With the city on my side they finally, reluctantly, agreed to fix their subpar work. A month or two later (after all the rain) my wife and I noticed a leak in the upstairs ceiling (something that was not there before). We called them to come out and fix it. Shaun (who was a great person to work with) was the individual they sent out and he took a look at the roof and noticed they did not tar the nails and that the leak was coming from a nail they did not nail properly. He stated it was popped up and letting the water in. I then called Chet from Roof-Rite and asked him if they could fix the leak damage to my ceiling caused by the faulty installation. He said they don't usually do this but he will because they take care of "my people." It has been one week since I had this call and I have tried to follow up with him to no avail. They simply ignore me. To recap: I am very displeased with Roof-Rite. They did subpar work stating it was the standard and only after I had the city involved did they repair it. Because of their faulty installation, I had a leak that leaked through the ceiling and they are refusing to fix it. I repeatedly asked for the pictures that they took of the replacement process (something they told me they would give me) and have been refused. We hired Roof-Rite to do a complete shingle tear off and new roof installation on one of our rental properties, after being referred by a friend. We were having ice damming and water backup into the house, because the old roof did not have any ice and water shield. We were also experiencing occasional water leaking into the top of a couple windows on the back of the house (when it rained heavily and blew a certain way). Several sections of drywall on the ceiling and back side of the house had to be removed from the water damage. We found wood on the back side that had rotted through in two areas (near both windows that had been leaking). Sean was able to determine that the water coming into the top of the window was not roof related, but was due to the way the previous siding was installed under the eaves. In addition to the roof, Roof-Rite replaced the back wall boards, insulation wrap, and re-sided the back of the house. We are 100% happy with the new roof, siding, and the fact that Sean was able to locate and repair the window leak problem for us. When it came time to replace the roof on our own home, our first and and only call was to Roof-Rite. Pam was great to work with during the quote and selection process with both roof installs. Be careful when you sign contract with this company. The company does not like to take responsibility to take care the damage casued by roof leaks due to the roof replacement. My ceiling got damage by roof leak and problem has not not been fixed until they tried more than 5 times. Each time I had to be there and it took me lots of time to deal with them. read more
