They lied about being open on the weekend and after a week, there was still no work done on it. The car was left damaged on the inside and they took no responsibility. The cap to one of the locks on the door on the inside was intentionally screwed off to retaliate against the fact we did not want to get anything done there after they lied about being open on the weekend and after a week, they still did not do any work on it. I don't want to feel like I need to write this review, but I think I need to. I've been here twice before over the years through my insurance and everything went smoothly. This time, I had a dent in my door that I caused myself on a parking barrier, didn't want to go through insurance, and went here out of pocket. 1. I booked my appt almost 2 weeks in advance, because I was told they needed to order a panel that takes some time. I made sure they'd have the panel in time for the appointment. I was told at my drop-off last Monday the car would be ready for me Friday. I booked a rental car (also out of pocket). 2. I got a call on Friday morning saying that the panel that was ordered was damaged when it showed up, and they had ordered a new one that would be in that day. Already a little frustrated because I could have driven my own car all week and not paid for a rental. Was told to call back Monday - there's 3 extra days in a rental car. Also told they found extra damage, new quote was $400 more, and I accept that sometimes that happens. 3. Call Monday, am told its being worked on and will be done Wednesday (today, 10/30). 2 more days in a rental car. 4. Get a call from them at 3:45pm on Wednesday saying they're working on putting it back together, but it'll be a close call to get it done by the time they close. When I say over the phone that I really need my car back and don't want to have to pay another day of rental car, the rep I spoke to rudely said, "I'll just call you when it's done" and hung up on me. This is the worst customer service I've received at a business, and made even more frustrating knowing that I've already been patient, am paying more than I intended, and am now at 10 days without a car through their errors. read more

I read about their rating and thought that the tow truck driver recommended and put my car at a dependable repair shop. After getting delivery I noticed that they fixed outside but missed to fix the vent inside the car. Christian did NOT apoligize for the miss, but promised to fix it after consulting it with the insurance company because they had already reported to the insurance company as completed. That was just an excuse to buy time, and the repair never happened. I thought they cared, but in fact they don't. read more

The stars are for the bodywork - they did an excellent job. As other Yelpers have mentioned, communication isn't the best, but that's not my main concern. Another annoying thing (but not a total dealbreaker) is that I requested a rental car of a certain kind (a Chevy Malibu) and they didn't tell me that it wasn't going to cost more than the allowed amount, so the rental car ended up being an extra cost without me knowing until I had already had the car for a day (the insurance agent told me.) However, my main concern is that when I picked my car up, it was no longer functional - and I had no problems before. Work was finished on a Friday and I went on vacation on a Saturday. I returned and picked it up the following Monday (after about a week and a half of it being there.) They had done body work and also repaired my window which had fallen off the track (which they said was unrelated to the accident.) When I got into the car I noticed that the acceleration was very poor. Getting on the freeway was unsafe. When I returned home, the engine starting smoking. I let it cool down and my boyfriend checked the fluid levels , which were fine. Took it to my mechanic just in case and he said that there was a bad engine knock and that the entire engine would need to be replaced. I have no hard evidence that anything happened to my car while it was in the shop. However, I had the car completely checked out about four months before (it was older, but new to me) and put $700 of repairs in it to make sure it would run smoothly for a long time. It's alarming that the issue was so evident (like awful power when accelerating - next to nothing!) and they didn't alert me of it. Were they trying to hide something? Had someone been driving it and screwed something up? Did something rbeak while the work was being done? Again, no real evidence, but it is a major concern to me that there was no communication that something was going on, especially when they did have to drive it to get it from the back parking lot (or wherever it was parked) to me, which seemed to take unreasonably long. Because replacing the engine would have cost more than the car was worth, I did have to sell the car. I have reported this to the insurance agency - if you have had any problems with this company, I would encourage you to do the same, since something like this will get investigated should there be similar problems. read more

I received terrible service here. Brought my car in on a Friday and was told that I would get a phone call the following Monday with an estimate. Didn't get a call on Monday, so I called them on Tuesday. I did not get any sort of acknowledgement or apology that they were supposed to call me the day before, and they told me that they would call me with any updates. I never got any calls about updates. Over the course of the next two weeks they never once initiated a phone call with me about the status of my vehicle and it was always me calling to check in, and them prolonging the process repeatedly. They told me my car would be ready by "late next week", but on the Friday of that week they said it might not be ready until Monday morning. Later that day they changed their answer to Monday evening. When I called Monday morning, they told me it wouldn't be ready until Tuesday evening. The whole experience has been extremely unreliable. The person that is supposed to be helping me and answering questions is Adam, but he has been of no help at all. A couple times I called and was told that he would call me back when he was available, but when I got calls back they weren't even from Adam himself, but from the receptionist. I am extremely frustrated with this place and will never come back here again. read more

Poor communicators, had my repair take two weeks longer than originally quoted. I only got any status updates once I: called (they didn't pick up over half the times I called them), was told they would call me back in a few minutes with a status update, waiting over half an hour for and never receiving a status update, and finally calling them back asking for an update AGAIN, then being put on hold for a few minutes, then FINALLY knowing where my car is at in the process (hint: you're going to be hear "we're gonna have to keep it until next week" A LOT, so get used to it.) read more

As of this moment, I'm extremely unhappy. I'm paying through the nose each day that my car is unavailable. After having my appointment rescheduled twice because the part wasn't in yet, I brought my car in 5 days ago for repair. Yesterday evening, they said the car should be done by today. Today I find out that they haven't even started the work on it, that they ordered the wrong part, and the -soonest- they -might- have the car ready is 3 days from now. Why couldn't I have had the use of my car this entire time, as it's still driveable, and the repairs are cosmetic? This is the last time I trust my insurance company's recommendation of a repair shop! Update: After I asked them to cancel the repair, because they told me that they hadn't even started on it yet, and that I was going elsewhere, they then changed their story and said they did actually have the part and work had already begun but that they would pay for a rental car, which they arranged for me. It took them another several days to complete the car. At the end, when I returned the rental, I was asked to pay for it, because apparently the repair place told them I would be paying for it. I had to start the process of a complaint with the BBB to get them to honor their offer to me of paying for a car rental. Rated 2 stars instead of 1 because they did end up keeping their promise...after pressuring them to do what they said they would. read more

Couldn't have asked for a better experience with an auto body shop. Long story short, some jackass backed into my car while it was parked in front of my house and took off. Thankfully I have uninsured motorist coverage. Roosevelt Auto Body was one of several shops my insurance company recommended. They were conveniently located near where I live and I had a previous good experience with one of the other Collision 1 shops in town so I thought I would give them a shot. The lobby area is nice and clean and modern and looks really professional. Rick, the estimator and sort of go-to-guy I worked with did an outstanding job. Since they were affiliated with my insurance company, getting the work paid for was seamless. The only hitch we had was a minor miscommunication regarding what was to be fixed. Basically, I felt they missed a couple things that I thought I had pointed out but that they had thought was preexisting damage. Once it was pointed out though, Rick did a fantastic job of getting my car back in and taking care of those couple of minor items. No arguing, no hassle, just simply took care of it. You can tell that they strive to treat their customers right. I would definitely go back for any future auto body needs I hopefully won't need. read more

This is the third time I've used Roosevelt Auto Body in the past seven years. To be fair, the previous times the work they have done has been excellent. However, both times there were no follow up problems. This time 'round their Estimator erred in telling me correctly about the parts to be replaced, and a completely inferior repair was done. When I complained they stonewalled me, and continued to hold me off with "my manager is out town" and "my manager is out with the flu" for a month. Then, after giving up and not hearing from him for two weeks, he emailed me back with the same response -- not my fault, I didn't do it, I didn't do anything wrong, you're on your own. I'm not asking them to eat the entire cost, but I did want them to admit their part of the blame and split the difference. Its not even a huge amount we're talking about -- probably $400. But they stonewalled and acted like I was the enemy. IF you want to roll the dice, use them. Or better yet, go to a different auto body repair company and eliminate any risk at all. read more

My friend and I just had the best experience here. After an incredibly stressful day, we found that her car wouldn't stop and we were stuck in Northgate. We ended up walking over to see if someone could help (honestly, not sure what we were expecting but we were delirious at this point). One of the guys there actually trekked back down the street to the car with us and tried to troubleshoot in the parking lot. Well, turns out her key was worn down and not a whole lot they could do, but they offered to give us a ride home so we could grab her spare. Basically they went above and beyond for a couple of stressballs and all with no promise of compensation. They are honest and kind people, and if I ever break down in Seattle, I know who I am calling. read more

Wow, I can't believe how rude and inconsiderate the receptionists are. I drove past (there's no sign that actually says Roosevelt Auto Body) and was 10 minutes late, the receptionist kept me waiting for 3 minutes while she was on the phone then told me they couldn't do the estimate because I was almost 15 minutes late. I had 2 small children with me and was almost in tears. Have a little compassion. When I returned two days later it was a different woman but equally rude. Luckily the guy who actually looked at the car was nice and polite or this would be 1 star. read more

Hm. So I phoned to request replacement for our truck's exterior driver's mirror that was stolen overnight. Apparently this shop requires that you make an appt, physically bring the truck in, they need to personally view the mirror themselves, THEN they will deem to order the replacement part. Other shops are capable of figuring this out with make/model/year and last 8 of VIN. Too bad, this location was especially convenient, but not if we have to make two trips - driving unsafely without a driver's mirror. And with such an incompetent and rigid initial customer service position, why would I trust them to have reasonable business practices regarding the actual work? Come on guys, get with the program. read more

This has been a terrible experience for me. I was hit by another vehicle and the other drivers insurance referred me here. They set an appointment for yesterday and when I called to say I was going to be 5 minutes late. During the first call I couldn't get through and their voicemail was full. During my second call they informed me that I'd been double booked and they couldn't help me that day. I rescheduled for 10:30 the next day. I arrived at 9:50am as I was coming from a Drs appointment and they informed me that I had to wait until 10:30. This is understandable except that I was the only person in the waiting area and I could see more than 10 employees working. The waiting room had scented candles lit and smelled like a horrible mix of febreeze and cheap candles. Even though there was a coffee maker visible they didn't offer me any, knowing they were expecting me to wait. They didn't apologize for the misunderstanding the day before and were quite rude when checking in early. The person who did my estimate came out early and served me at about 10:15. He was very polite and professional. But the front desk lady was super rude the whole time. read more

I was so pleased that they could fix the mirror on my 1980's Datsun 300Z.. They were quick, took time with me and worked out the best way to proceed on my "classic" car. I have had my car worked on 3 different times here and each time has been as good of an experience as I could have asked for. They have excellent customer service and are efficient with the entire process. They worked directly with my insurance so I barely had to do anything. They also arranged for my rental vehicle to be waiting for me when I dropped my car off. The work done on my car is immaculate! Not only that, they have always gone the extra mile to clean the inside of my car when it seems to be at its worst. I picked my car up today with plans of having it detailed sometime soon and after getting it back from Roosevelt Auto Body, I don't even need to have it detailed any further. I have used this repair shop more than I can believe. We have 4 cars and 2 teenage drivers. Collision 1 is the best around. The job that they do is perfect, the cars are all like new. We have have to pay out of our pocket for some repairs, and their prices were very fair and comparable to other repair shops. Another car backed into my driver's side door so that it couldn't open. Their insurance gave me some local body shops & Roosevelt Auto Body Northgate was close, so that's where I went. They were fast, they did a great job, they coordinated with Enterprise so my rental was ready for me. My car was returned clean inside & out, & the damage was completely repaired. Overall, I was satisfied. I asked them to do an oil change (which I heard they could do) & they couldn't/wouldn't. I'm moving to another state in a few days so wanted to get everything done fast. I also asked that a tail light be replaced (at my expense, not accident related) and they said they would & then didn't, so I was initially disappointed with this part of the transaction. Shoby, the very nice & helpful front desk person, told me to just bring in the taillight & they would do it, free. She thought perhaps the taillight I provided was the wrong one & maybe that's why they didn't do it. I bought the taillight & dropped back in & talked with Rich at length at this point. He explained that they don't/can't do oil changes on site, so that's why they didn't do that. He also explained that when they checked the taillight it worked, & that's why they didn't replace it. Luckily the taillight was NOT working that day, so they replaced it. They used one of their own lights & gave me mine back & did it free. They also (Rich & a colleague - Nathan?) talked with me at length (at my request) about other small repairs I need done after my move & how to get them done quickly & inexpensively. I typically never write reviews, but for this place I felt like I needed to. I was in a car accident and state farm was the responsible insurance. Their claims page lead me to Roosevelt Auto Body. When I went there to get an estimate, there was absolutely no where for me to park. The lot was full with cars they were waiting to be fixed or done and waiting to be picked up. Once I got the estimate I decided I was going to come to them to fix my car. They said they would first have to call and talk things through with the insurance company which is totally understandable. It has now been over a month since I talked to them and they still have not even called the car insurance company. In my opinion Roosevelt Auto Body - Collision 1 is unprofessional and I never plan to go to them for any of my auto services. read more

I was in a minor car accident earlier this month. This is only my second car accident in over 30 years driving. I took my car to two body shops for estimates. Collsion 1 at Northgate is one of them. I read some reviews and some are positive and others are very negative. I picked them because they gave me the lower estimate and they are close to where I live. They were professional and efficient when I came in to get the estimate. When I dropped off my car for the repairs they had a rental car waiting for me. Initially I expected to keep the rental less than one week. There was also some damage on the rear bumper not related to the accident that I decided to fix since my car was in the shop already. The damage from the accident was not that serious so I thought it should not take more than one week max to do the work for both, they had to order a bumper where the damage was (this is only one piece of the entire bumper). After 2 days they called me and said it would be end of the week for the repairs to get done. Then I had to call them at the end of the week and I was told it would be 4 more days (2 of those days being Saturday and Sunday). So in the meantime I am paying for a rental car $30 a day that I did not like. I am convinced now they expedite car repairs for insurance claims that have higher payouts and cars that need smaller repairs are at the bottom of the pile. I think repairs were done well but it should not have taken 10 days. If I need body work done on my car in the future I will not return to Collision 1 at Northgate. I am stuck with paying for the rental car because at the time of the accident there was no rental reimbursement on my policy. You can bet I have that coverage now. read more

I cannot explain why they just get 1's or 5's but here is another 1, so consumers beware their warrantees are not really warrantees. I was hit by an uninsured motorist from behind. Surprisingly for how far it pushed the car forward it just had deep scratches in the paint so I drove around for a year trying to decide what to do. I did not want a claim on my insurance. I finally decided to pony up the money and get the bumper redone...in part because I will probably sell the car in the next year. the bumper was replaced and repainted to match. I had been concerned that there was damage underneath but they told me after the fact that no it actually had been ok. the car looked fine. A week later someone parrell parked behind me scrapped my driver side of the rear bumper as they left their spot. At first it just looked scrapped which was just upsetting because I again had cosmetics I did not want from a motorist not taking responsibility. I called and the receptionist explained to me that the minute it was hit that invalidated the warrantee...which did actually make sense to me. However, within the next few days the paint started to peel off....what? My old paint job was hard and brittle, this was like laytex. I put bumpersticks over the effected areas and then had to put two on the other side of the car for balance. (way to many bumperstickers.) But then other parts of the car totally untouched by the departing parked car started having bits of paint peeling up. It looked like every time a piece of gravel had come up and hit the bumper that a chunk of paint was coming off. It looks like shit at this point. I would post the photos but there does not seem to be a way to do that. so I started trying to email and include a picture to the manager. It kept bouncing back despite repeated attempts to clarify with the receptionist if I had the correct email and even trying to email her. She seemed remarkably unconcerned to learn that email to the correct address was not getting through. Eventually I gave up and mailed a copy to them. The manager Adam did call me after he got that and left me a message to call back. However, when I did I would get this weird buzz tone (not a buzy signal - just a buzz). Once I got the receptionist and she said she would have him call back but he did not. So try again another day...more weird buzz tones. Finally he answers and I say hello (not my name just hello) and the phone cuts off and then goes back to buzz tones when I try again. Finally on another day i am in the neighborhood so I surprise stop by. After being made to wait 10 minutes he comes and says "let's have a look". But he immediately tells me this is because of the car that scrapped it. I say that cannot explain why it is peeling off all kinds of other parts of the bumper. He then tells me that when they give you your newly painted car back that the paint is actually not cured (hard) for another 3 weeks, so it was vulnerable at the time of the accident. He defensively tells me that "well we cannot keep your car for 3 weeks" No, but you could tell people that their warantee really will not be good for 3 weeks because anything can ruin the paint job in the first 3 weeks. He also tries to claim that the other part where it is actually bubbling right now are because it was hit. To demonstrate this he kicks the bumper causing it to go in a bit and then reform to its normal position. when it goes in it goes in where a big crack in the paint is. I again state that this does not explain the bubbles or chips. He says another bumper has hit the length of it causing the chips, not rocks. He "proves" this by pointing out that a little divet in one of my bumper stickers. the thing is those bumper stickers went on after the 3 weeks when the paint should have been cured. If it had been a proper paint job, like the original a car bumping it slightly (as happens every day in Seattle) would not cause chunks of paint to come off! All the problems that have appeared in the last few months are well after the original car scrapped it...so I just see there was something wrong with the original paint job that it still all peels off like latex. He did offer me a discount to redo it. I said no. If I am going to have to spend money AGAIN on this bumper why would I have someone who does a bad job do it??? I told him I was going to post this. He told me that was fine if I wanted to be "passive aggressive". Hmmm apparently getting bad service and bad work and wanting others to be forwarned is well not passive, so I guess just aggressive. To me it would be passive aggressive if I had not attempted to work it out with him. read more
