YUM! This place delicious shakes and cheese fries too. I enjoy my time each time I get food here, never disappointed. The menu is full of tonssss of items. I will be back to try out the chicken soon. Great service, super quick and efficient. Quick service typical inside, they have some old video games so that is fun to play while waiting. They have seating inside and outside. Overall great place for a quick meal.

This is the new menu of the roost! They updated it with screens. Prices on this menu are higher than the old one. Food is still great. Comes in fast.

This is a great place for lunch or dinner. The food is, outstanding and their menu selection is unrivaled in the Northern suburbs. They now make these insane Italian Beef egg rolls! Anyhoo, if you're hungry and you want good food for not a ton of money, this is your place!

If ya blink you'll miss it, the Sunday special is what drew me in, till I saw there menu and almost fell over, wholly cow. I moved here from Wheeling about 14yrs ago, and this place has only gotten better with age, try there sweet potatoes fries with the dipping sauce OMG, 2 die 4. I have Never gotten anything bad there, it's always clean and I love the family atmosphere ya feel just walking in, I always feel welcome. Yeah it's The Bomb. My twin grandson's loved it. I'm glad they R close to where I live, I could walk there if the roads weren't so yucky, not crazy about walking on the gravel, but it is what it is, that's the suburbs for ya. They don't believe in sidewalks, I guess? But I can call ahead and drive there and back home in less then 5 min, can't beat that! If U don't try them at least once, it's your loss, honest! After looking at there Menu, you'll be in trouble trying to choose where to start, Good Luck. I'm still working on it, lol.

Roost Beef with fries. My mouth is watering just posting this!

This place has good food. But it is definitely overpriced for a hot dog/burger themed pit stop. It's easy to spend a lot here...

The inside was nicely decorated with Chicago sports teams which was so nice. We ordered the Garlic Parmesan boneless wings, the birria grilled cheese and a kiss chicken tender and fries fpr my nephew. The garlic Parmesan wings were clearly frozen then fried which is not how I remember them, the breading was seperating from the chicken and the vreadign was so hard :/ the birria grilled cheese was very flavorful and juicy with such a nice crust on the bread. And my nephew really enjoyed his kids meal. Overall, I thought the staff was great but the boneless wings not so much..

The brisket was better than the pork. The only thing I wished was that I wanted it to be more smoky. The barbecue pork was decent, but I would definitely want to try the ribs during the weekend. He was very nice and very accommodating and added in some sweet pickled jalapeños, which were phenomenal. The brisket sandwich was definitely a good hit. Had the coleslaw and mac & cheese...and that was not bad at all!Had a little bit more mayo than expected with a tad of vinegar, which was OK. Overall, it was a very good lunch/dinner. (by the way, I liked the Kansas City better than the Texas but Texas sauce was also very good! They make their own homemade sauce by the way ) Nick was a great conversational piece and they are going to be starting with a food truck pretty soon which is gonna be pretty neat. He does take a lot of pride in his work, and it shows! So I guess keep an eye open for that. Nice job, Nick. I'll give you the next star an update this review once I have your ribs. Is that a Deal? Great neighborhood restaurant & hidden gem!…read more I'll preface this review with a small disclaimer and apology of sorts. I'm a nearly life long resident of Gurnee (36 of my years) and have only been here twice now, and both in the last month. Just recently took my parents because my first visit went so well. They have lived and worked in Gurnee since the early 80s and somehow have never been either, until now. How did I even end up here after all these years? I kept seeing mentions on social media. It was giving WI supper club kinda vibes of which I'm a HUGE fan of and I was like well I need to check this out! It's also like a 3 min drive from my home so win win. First time I went with my friend during the week, great experience everything was great! My parents aren't easy to please but I was confident and brought them on over this Saturday and another home run. We ordered the mozzarella appetizer and also the breaded shrimp appetizer, both were good. Entrees included a burger, shish kabob, prime rib sandwich, and the 18 oz prime rib. Everything was fabulous. The prime rib is perfect, red skin mashed are amazing. Beverages were a little bit of everything, mom loves black coffee but she will do cream and sugar if it's not great, they brought a large mug and she loved it, didn't even need the cream and sugar. The others got fountain drinks (Coke products which are preferred) and free refills which kept coming and was appreciated. I had a Maker's old fashioned, it was classic WI supper club style. I'll now devote an entire paragraph to the wine pours. First visit, I had a glass of the Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir, and was shocked at the pour, very very decent! Ordered the same at my second visit and maybe slightly less shocked but still, great pour! Granted this isn't the Courtyard by Marriott Westbury NY (if you are on TikTok you know what I mean), but this is a hearty pour and basically just all sorts of fabulous. You cannot go wrong with a glass of wine here! Dessert tray comes out after dinner, nice selection to choose from, both times we got a turtle cheesecake which can really do no wrong. Mom got the Dubai style cake, and the guys got vanilla ice cream. They don't make the desserts in house but they are solid options, very very good. Some environmental notes: they have the grill inside for steaks etc, so you do leave smelling a bit like the grill, not off putting to myself much, and I'm very sensitive and have allergies etc. Restrooms were spotless both times, super clean. I don't recall any music but nice conversations hum going on during the busy Saturday night service so had a pleasant volume etc. The building is older, but everything is in really nice shape/condition. You can come casual in jeans and a hoody or a bit more dressed up and feel comfortable either way. I noticed lots of local folks who recognized others in passing and stopped to say hi to each other, really gave it a nice community feel. Long story short, a nice hidden gem local place with a WI supper club feel and a nice sense of community. Solid menu and nicely executed dishes and drinks. Nice service and competitive pricing as well. Highly recommend if you live in town and never tried it, but visitors to Gurnee will feel welcome too!

Server was very attentive but the sequencing between appetizer, salads , and entrees had too long of a gap. The food was as good overall. Would recommend but certainly could polish up the things mentioned above
