Don't have too much to say about this spot besides I wish the hours were better!!! I love this spot and the ladies who work there. Definitely look forward to becoming a regular here. Food is A1, Service is A1, and the feel of the spot is A1!!

I got a delivery order from this restaurant on a Tuesday night. I got the spicy chicken tenders, they were spicy but not as spicy as they are labeled. It's a smoky heat, and they are in a dry rub. The chicken is well cooked, although there were a few tendons I had to eat around. I also got the fries and a chicken Caesar salad wrap. The wrap was dry, lacked Caesar dressing, but had all the right components. You can add a side of sauce and you should. It may be better if not delivered. I also got the kids chicken tender meal, it comes with three small chicken tenders, fries, and a biscuit. They looked crispy, and good. I would probably eat there if I were to revisit.

This is a nice little fast food-ish chicken restaurant. You can get chicken wings, chicken tenders, or a chicken sandwich on a biscuit or bun. Of course, I had to get my sandwich on a biscuit, which are huge by the way. They have a few signature chicken sandwiches to choose from. The Carolina Style was calling my name so that is what I went with. I also got a side of fries. It took them about 15 minutes to have my food ready. My sandwich was so delicious. It was packed with flavor. It was also fresh and hot. There is metered street parking and commercial parking lots available for those that are driving to get here. The staff there was friendly enough, but I will admit that my interaction with them was limited. Well, this is a nice chicken joint that is worth checking out. I really like my meal here.

Our experience here was pretty good, it's a little warm here in Chicago so it was kind of warm in the restaurant. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes to get the food even though it was kind of busy.. The workers were nice. My only problem here was after taking two bites, My chicken fell apart. it could've been my fault cause I did add coleslaw to the sandwich, but even with that there are some sandwiches that come with coleslaw either way, knowing that you get a choice of a buttermilk biscuit or a brioche bun. The mac & cheese was pretty good. It was creamy and peppery and a little bit spicy, but I liked it. Overall, pretty good place just kind of small and not a lot of spots to sit at especially for a busy day.

Roost's biscuit egg sandwich is outstanding. fluffy eggs, a buttery biscuit, and great flavor all around. The restaurant location does a much better job than the food truck in my experience. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the matcha. The breakfast sandwich keeps me coming back, but the matcha was a miss for me.

Ordered Roost Chicken & Biscuits for my lazy Sunday meal, and it did not disappoint! I'd heard great things about this spot in River West, so I had to check it out. I went with the 3-piece tender chicken sandwich and a side of mac & cheese. The chicken sandwich was amazing! I got to customize it and chose a brioche bun, spicy seasoning, ranch sauce, and added pimento cheese--and wow, it hit the spot. I love pimento cheese, and it took the sandwich to the next level. Plus, it was a pretty big sandwich, so even if you're really hungry, just a sandwich and a side is a solid meal. Not knowing that, I also ordered extra chicken and got the 3-piece tenders. They were hefty and cooked perfectly! I had them with Alabama white sauce, which I highly recommend if you've never tried it before--so good. The mac & cheese was super cheesy and delicious too. Overall, Roost is a sleeper pick for one of the best chicken sandwiches in Chicago. I feel like it deserves more hype because everything I had was top-notch. Definitely will be back for a chicken sando!

I love fried chicken and I love biscuits. Service was a bit slow due to the amount of takeout orders perhaps. But, this is a decent spot for both items. The chicken spicy level 3 of 5: Good texture, but no flavor in the breading or sauce. The biscuit 4 of 5: nice, buttery salty biscuit, but it could of been a bit bigger to fit the chicken better. The sausage gravy 4 of 5: it was good, but needed a bit of pepper in the gravy. Give this place a shot and see if it fits your taste, as for me, it makes me miss the South a bit more.

This was one of my first stops once getting to Chicago. We arrived and it was empty which was concerning but I wasn't going to let that stop me. The cashier struggled answering my questions and seemed to be guessing more than giving an accurate answer. I ended up walking away because ever answer was beating around the bush kind of response so I let the person I was with complete the transaction. The space was decent. They had a fair amount of seating not huge but not tiny. Simple dining room but serves its purpose. For food we got the house style on a plain biscuit and the sunrise on a jalapeño cheddar biscuit. The house style def would have been better fit for a brioche bun over the biscuit. But that wasn't a recommendation the cashier could assist with. The sunrise breakfast sandwich did great on the biscuit. But over all I have 2 big issues. 1) the biscuits even though it looked like they came out a hot box sat on the counter and became cold. 2) the same for the sandwiches themselves. They moved so slow and no urgency that the food was like warm. I ordered hot sandwiches I expected hot sandwiches. The flavor was good but the template was lacking. I've had hotter sandwiches from delivery orders and considering I ate at the restaurant I'm not sure how they managed it. Besides nothing was good fresh and all of it was being held in hot boxes besides the egg so it was really barely warm to began with then the solid build of the sandwiches finished off eliminating and warmth.

I am so happy that Roost moved into a better space down the street. Their food is so delicious and always comes out fresh and hot. Their staff is always so friendly as well. This restaurant is a big hit for me and my girlfriend - we are always looking for good food in our area. My favorite items are the Fried Chicken Biscuit w/ fries. I also enjoy their spicy chicken salad as well. Check em out!

The food was definitely good. I tried their special and I wasn't disappointed. Coming from a place that makes Nashville Hot Chicken I would have to see they simply have a different brand and the food was just as good. I gave them a 4/5 stars because it was good but not the best and I only went once.

Nobody's performing, everybody's happy to be there, and the staff treated us like they were glad we showed up. Start with the sweet tea. It's the real thing. The Nashville hot chicken and waffles is the move. The heat has actual flavor behind it instead of just burn, and it builds in a way that keeps you going back for another bite. Then I tried the shrimp and grits and had a small crisis about which one I liked better. Still haven't settled it. The grits were creamy, the shrimp had real seasoning, and I cleaned the plate. Fair warning: none of this food is for anyone on a diet. That's the point. Come hungry, wear the forgiving pants, and let somebody else count things for the day.

He had curly hair, was light skinned, and appeared to be either a waiter or busser. While we were seated, he bumped into my chair at least three times and even hit me in the back of the head while trying to move around the area. He apologized each time, but after it kept happening, it became frustrating and uncomfortable. He was also spraying 409 heavily at the table right next to us while we were eating. It was so much spray that I genuinely felt like it may have gotten on my food. On top of that, he repeatedly dropped things around our table and seemed to have a difficult time maneuvering through the dining area. It honestly made me wonder if the table placement itself was part of the problem The food service was also disappointing. My meal came out first, and I had to wait quite a while for my sister's chicken biscuit. When it finally arrived, the chicken was not cooked all the way through. My pancake and bacon were both good. I just wish the overall experience had matched the quality of those items. Between being repeatedly bumped into, being hit in the head, cleaning chemicals being sprayed next to our food, and undercooked chicken, it made the experience difficult to enjoy.

I was seated one foot away from another table when other seating possibilities were available that were more private--clearly my note was not looked at before I was seated even though I asked if she'd seen my reservation. After being seated I asked if I could slide my table over as there was a wide open table to my right but a table a foot away to the left. The hostess accommodated the request, but 15 minutes later someone slid a table from the row in front of us to the space directly next to our table. The breakfast was good--"Big Benny" (Eggs Benedict's) was delicious according to my guest, and the "Make It A Classic" (2 eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon or sausage) was as advertised. My only negative on the food is the hash-browns tasted like potatoes out of a bag and were not warm so definitely not cooked to order despite the wait.

Menu is written on a whiteboard which allows them to just erase the item when it sells out. But, a digital display would elevate the ambiance and lend a more polished feel. Details matter, especially when you're asking customers to pay premium prices. Customer service was really rocky to start, but the gentleman with the locs saw my face, heard my comment, and quickly adjusted. Much appreciated. Keep that same energy for ALL your customers. What we ate: Delicious: peach cobbler (fantastic!) Decent: short ribs, Mac n cheese, green beans, cornbread muffin Don't bother: collards, salmon One major gripe: at this price point, being served in takeout containers with plastic cutlery cheapens the experience. Invest in real plates and silverware -- your margins can surely support the upgrade. If you are going to automatically grat a dine-in check, then your patrons should sit at clean tables and be greeted by a smiling face. Neither of these were part of my experience. But I also didn't see the gratuity on my check. So, there's that. Clean tables and a warm greeting are basic expectations -- not bonuses -- especially if an automatic gratuity is being added to dine-in checks. (Although curiously, I didn't see this reflected on mine.) As for the $1 price tag on a small 16 oz bottle of water -- yes, you're making a solid markup. But why not reinvest a few cents more in a larger, sport-cap option? Small touches like that make a big difference in perceived value. The space was nearly empty during my visit, but I can imagine it picks up post-Sunday service. Still, the lack of energy in the room matched the food: fine, but not worth rushing back for. Nothing Would I return? Maybe. But I'm not in a hurry.
