Instead of trying a Rooster and Rice close to my office in the OC, I decided to try one almost 400 miles away near my hotel in Santa Clara. Like others have said, the chicken is kind and bland, and a little dry. The ginger scallion sauce was good and was a good condiment for the chicken. The portion was pretty good sized. It's a good place if your hotel is close by.

I was in the area and decided to try their poached chicken. We've been ordering from a different chain since we discovered the dish, and wanted to try Rooster & Rice version. The chicken is more bland by itself compared to the other one where we've been getting. It also felt overcooked and dryer. The sauces are great. It saved the experience. Their pricing is a bit higher by around a dollar for the items. They do have other dishes and sides on the menu that might be worth a try in case I'm around the area again. They do have only a couple of tables indoors for waiting. But they have a nice covered outdoor patio that's relaxing and just lowkey ambiance.

Original doesn't come with ginger scallion sauce, I wish I had known that when ordering. Garlic soy isn't bad though. Soup however was kinda sour and didn't taste clean or clear like you'd expect. I've been to rooster rice but different locations and had no issues. It's been a few years and thought I'd try it again craving chicken and rice. This will probably be the only time I go to this location. I feel there are better options out there. It is convenient though

Came again during weekday for a quick lunch. Khao Tom Kai chicken porridge was so good, very flavorful with the soft boiled egg and chicken skin crisps. It was only $5 with purchase of any meal. They also have happy hour 2-5pm weekdays with 25% off the entire menu.

The Original, thigh meet only, with skin. It was not unappealing and not good.

Service was good but the food was disappointing. This franchise location is not up to par in quality with the San Francisco location. My chicken was unappealing and was very bland. It's a small quiet place, we were the only customers at this location when we ate there.

Definitely had a greater experience this time around! I ordered two originals, one with skin and one without. I do like that you can customize it a bit - for example, no skin, substitute sauce, type of rice, only chicken breast or thigh, etc. Didn't really have any complaints about either one - it was prepared and put together nicely and had a good amount of rice and chicken and I was satisfied! Also, the ginger and scallion sauce is a must for me! I'm glad I remembered to substitute it this time. It comes with a broth which is flavorful and nicely adds to the meal.

This place had a pop up event in Hawaii and it was super packed we couldnt get to try. So when we were in NorCal, we found out it was located out here. The food was really good, the taste and the sauces were flavorful. The people working there was super nice.

Yum!! Perfect when you're hungry and at the mall. Walk past the notorious lines at Ramen Nagi next door and make your way to Rooster & Rice for a tasty, comforting meal. My go to is the classic #1. It's perfect and simple. The portions are generous and the service is fast and friendly. Ask for their hot sauce.

I was looking for a place for lunch in Valley Fair and decided to go with Rooster & Rice. I love Khao Mun Gai/Hainan Chicken Rice in general, so I was excited to finally give them a try. I decided to go with The Original and it came with chicken broth on the side. The portions were good and the flavors for the rice were there. The sauce was flavorful and the chicken was tender. This certainly satisfied my cravings for Hainan Chicken Rice. If you're looking for a place to eat and love Khao Mun Gai, check Rooster & Rice out!

We came to this eatery because it had a short line (almost everything else had a 30 min wait). We ended up getting the Original, Tom Yum Thai fries and the chicken wings. The chicken itself? SO SO GOOD! You won't find dry chicken here! The sauces are pretty good too. My favorite was the pineapple habenero that came with the chicken wings. The Original kinda tasted like Filipino tinola. -2 because if you want extra sauce, that's gonna cost you $2. If you want a water cup, you can, but it's room temp.

I ordered the Original with just chicken thighs (additional $1), and added extra cucumbers since the option was there. I thought the dish as pretty filling and a good portion for the price. I enjoyed washing down the meal with the chicken brown. I also tried the Cutlet, which is a panko crust chicken thigh. The chicken was pretty crispy, and the portion was good enough. Not amazing, but it's a decent spot to have a quick eat!

I wanted something high in protein but still clean so of course I thought of Hainan chicken! I usually order from Chicken Meets Rice but I found ROOSTER & Rice on Door Dash so decided to switch it up! I got the original plate with fragrant rice & all breast meat. The chicken was juicy and tender. The sauce it comes with was an explosion of flavor. I like the refreshing cucumbers they add too. I inhaled my plate and was super full. The portion is huge. I have no complaints & I will order again!

My favorite chicken and rice restaurant!! Even though Rooster & Rice is a chain, they have amazing chicken and rice. Food: I always order the Original (Breast & thigh with skin, fragrant chicken rice, cucumber, cilantro, KMG sauce), but substitute for all breast and no skin. Chicken is never dry and it comes with a chicken broth soup on the side. The sauce is so flavorful, and the meal is filling. I don't feel gross after eating this which is a plus. Service: Service is decent! The line wasn't long when we came, but they have a self-service kiosk to order at. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I have had them disregard my no skin or all breast requests before, but this does not happen every time. Pricing: $ Good price for lots of food. I normally get 2 meals out of it. Ambiance: A lot of seating and not too packed compared to other places in the mall. It is definitely the best food in Valley Fair if you don't want to wait. Tables were clean. Parking: Park in the Winchester parking garage for closest parking! Will definitely be back to this location. :)

The salad itself is quite refreshing. If you like lime zest, you will love this salad. Pad Woon Sen: 4/5 The softness of the glass noodles and crunchy vegetables gave the dish great texture. For protein choice, I would recommend not going with the crunchy pork if you don't like chewing on harder fried chunks. The flavor is good but a little hard to bite through. Sausage Appetizer: 5/5 The sausage is juicy and has the sourness that fermented thai sausages usually have. I love that they provided ginger, nuts, thai chilis, and cabbage to pair with sausage. It really gave it that authentic touch. I recommend coming after 2pm on the weekend as that was when we went and there was no line.

I explained to them that I need the table 1st so that my friend doesn't have to go through waiting standing, then getting usher to a table, considering the handicap. They were stuck in their thought process and did not give us a table. My friend had difficulty parking and getting in - so of course we had to wait to get a table. This is not at all considerate of them when we explicitly said we have a member with a handicap. They were rigid. What I noticed is that the corner table I asked for was given to a lady, even though her companion came in much later! The indoor seating is very cramped. I wonder how many people are truly allowed! I can grab anything from the next table if I wanted to - that's how terrible the seating is. 1 point for : The food is OK. Everything tastes the same. It's a bit too salty. This place is not worth a second chance! Especially for their attitude towards the disabled and handicapped!

If the dish is not spicy, it just isn't worth eating IMO. Dining with kids typically guarantees no spice level and that is simply depressing. While she is occupied with school, I took the opportunity to satisfy one of my many cravings. This lead me to Must Be Thai. With a solid 4 star rating and nearly 2500 reviews, I took a leap of faith and detoured from my normal go-to eatery. Our party of 3 adults arrived right before the lunch rush and we were seated immediately upon us signing in with the tablet. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Menus were provided and the staff went right into trying to take our order. A simple request for more time was obliged. Offerings you will find are sharable appetizers and a list of foods broken down into specific regions of Thailand. Lunch: *Anchan Lemonade (Butterfly Pea Flower) x2 *PAD SEE YOU [Calamari] *PAD THAI [Prawns] x2 *GREEN CURRY [Chicken] *Single Serving of JASMINE RICE [[Spice level here is apparently not an option. Dishes are made without spice unless the menu states heat. An assortment of chili condiments are available upon request to remedy the lack of heat.]] Food was absolutely delicious! The best item during the meal was the pad thai. This was so good we had to order 2. The noodles were cooked well- still having a nice amount of chew to it. These managed the thorough coating of the pad thai sauce without making the dish mushy. Shrimp protein was an added $5 fee but the portions were plentiful. We went with the green curry due to it being described as sweet and spicy- the perfect balance in flavors. The curry is automatically made at a medium spice level but on Thai terms- be advised this may be too spicy for the average person. The green curry was enjoyed by all and I would easily order this again. Pad see you was good, not as good as the pad thai, but still very delicious. While other reviews note this dish as being too sweet, I didn't notice since I put a good dusting of the dry chili powder on my food. The anchan lemonade deserves a little bit of the spotlight. This drink is 100% recommended due to it being refreshing, beautiful on the eyes, and sour as any lemonade should be!! You won't find a sugar packed cup of color liquid here. 5/5 stars for Must Be Thai!!! Pricing is definitely pricey and I only wished the portions were a little bigger. But!!
