    My 2 meat plate

I love my chicken meets rice! On this particular night, I got the two different types of chicken, but the grilled chicken tasted burnt and overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. The steamed chicken was the best. It was so well with the ginger and green onion oil! That was the best! Overall, you can never go wrong with this place!

They don't greet you here or talk to you at all. You order from a kiosk and when it's done they txt you. The peach lychee juice is very tart and sour but it's not bad just on the sweeter side. Not a big fan of the teriyaki chicken and rice plate. It is nice that it comes with a side of chicken broth. Clean place I like the high top table & chairs.

Chicken Meets Rice is a simple yet tasty option for lunch. You order your food at the order screen by the counter. It's quick and easy. I got the Fried Chicken. It was pretty juicy. Salad was fresh, but they need some type of dressing put over it. The bonus is that nice chicken broth soup on the side. They have Wings for a good price as well. Good spot to grab a bite. I definitely will go back soon.

Food: great option for on the go or take out meals! I will say, I preferred the hainan chicken over the fried cutlet. It was perfectly moist and not dry at all. Minus 1 star because the fried cutlet was dry. It is cool that they let you pick your sauces! Service: didn't talk to anyone, ordered online! They seemed friendly. Ambiance: casual spot, nothing too special.

    Hainan Chicken Box

Hainan chicken done right: Moist and succulent and no bone shards! Double up on the ginger scallion oil for your choice of two sauces. A meal comes with a small chicken broth and a side salad besides the sliced chicken on a big bed of flavorful rice. I'm a fan of chicken meets rice!

This wasn't my first encounter with Chicken Meets Rice as I had visited their other location in Santa Clara. We really liked it then, so it was an easy choice for a quick dinner before our flight out. The major difference between the two experiences was the actual restaurant itself and what it had to offer. This location is much larger and spacious than the Santa Clara location, which feels more like a takeout spot. We ordered at the kiosk, and it's a pretty easy menu to order from. We each got our own Chicken Box, whether it was the Fried Chicken Box with Chicken Rice for $14.99 or the Hainan Chicken Box with Chicken Rice for $14.99. My absolute favorite sauce to get is the Ginger Scallion Oil. There's a self service water station and we took a seat. We were surprised that our food was brought out to us, as this was definitely not the case at the other one. (I'm not sure if it was because they weren't too busy and the order was obviously for us, or because the owners were working. And that's another thing, I really appreciated seeing the owners working the actual line. They were packing the food up and doing all the work, just like any other employee would.) I was pleasantly surprised to see our meal served in actual dish ware with real cutlery! Wow. This really just made the dinner that much better. And it was easy with clean up as they had bins near the trashcan so you can put your dirty dishes away. (This practice is so much more efficient than using disposable containers for dining in. I, personally, do not enjoy eating out of takeout containers or using horrible plastic cutlery.) And the food just presented a lot better not crammed into some box! We aren't in the area very often, but we know where we'll be grabbing dinner before our next flight out.

Ordered take-out after seeing this in the neighborhood. * Location: On Coleman in the Costco shopping center. Getting into the center can be a pain depending on how heavy Costco traffic is. * Service: Quick order pick-up, well packaged meals. * Ambiance: Indoor seating * Food: Partner tried the Fried Chicken Cutlet, I had the Fried Tofu Box. I appreciated the vegetarian option (especially since the main draw is chicken) & the lightly-fried tofu (not oily, good texture). Sauces were a highlight. Overall good portion for a fair price, we'd check it out again when we're in the area.

I thoroughly enjoy Chicken Meets Rice every time I get food there. The first location I ever tried was off of Tasman long ago. Now that my company has moved offices, we are right across the street from this one off of Coleman. I've walked over a few times to order take out and once to dine in. All experiences have been exactly what I wanted and needed. Dining in there was actually nicer than I expected. My food didn't come in a box (which was all I had known having only ever ordered as takeout). I found a nice quiet corner to sit in and my food was brought out to me when it was ready. It was lovely. The broth was warm and comforting, the quality of the chicken was top notch - never too dry. The chicken rice is tasty. CMR sauce is the best sauce and always the way to go with the Hainan chicken. I always look forward to the food and will be coming back for many more years as long as they continue to stick around!

Tried Chicken Meets Rice and I really loved their Hainanese chicken. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the rice was just as good--super fragrant and satisfying. Everything just worked together really well. Definitely a comforting meal done right.

    Chicken with no skin.

This place is terrible. They messed up my order. I will never go here again. I ordered white chicken with skin. They gave me no skin. I called to complain but no one answered. I left a message and did their survey online and complained they didn't give chicken with skin. They never called me back.

I didn't know they opened up this Chicken Meet Rice location. My wife and I stumbled upon it when we went shopping at Costco. There is a lot of parking around. This location is spacious, though it does not have a lot of seating inside and there is no outside seating available. They have two kiosks to order from. The mobile order pickup area is to the side. Only one unisex restroom. *Hainan Chicken Box (with dark meat with skin) (4/5). Served with your choice of two sauces. Also included is a salad, sliced cucumbers, and chicken broth. Come support your local business.

Love Hainan chicken rice! Please open more locations around the Bay Area (San Mateo Area!!!). I really appreciate the option to mix half rice and half veggies, choose different sauces, and pick between grilled or classic Hainan chicken. The Coffee Meets Tea drink is also perfectly balanced--not too sweet, with just the right amount of caffeine. If it's your first time, I highly recommend trying the Coffee Meets Tea and the regular Hainan chicken with chicken rice. There are plenty of parking spaces since it's located in a plaza, and the interior is spacious and super clean. 10 out of 10!

I wish I orders one of the star or favorites items. The ube chicken and waffles and the Dino banh mi dip were delicious! Any of their sauces were packed with flavor. We came in around 5:40 PM on a Saturday expecting freshly prepared, flavorful food. Unfortunately, several of the dishes we ordered were extremely dry and lacked flavor. The Bò Kho (beef rib), the Picanha steak sizzling and shaken beef dry-ramen were particularly disappointing. The meat was very dry, tough, and had a texture similar to jerky, which made it difficult to enjoy. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were told that the food was pre-cooked and that this was simply how it was served. I understand that some dishes may be prepared in advance, but I believe there should still be attention to maintaining the proper texture, moisture, and quality before serving. My father ordered the Lechon sticky rice. The pork was reasonably okay, but unfortunately, the rice was extremely hard and difficult to eat. I hope the restaurant will take this feedback seriously, particularly regarding the preparation and holding of pre-cooked food. Freshness, texture, and flavor make a significant difference in the overall dining experience. The staff were friendly, but unfortunately, the quality of the food made our overall experience disappointing. I would not recommend the restaurant based on our visit, and I don't plan to return unless there are improvements in food quality and preparation.

The Chinese sausage pieces sprinkled throughout added extra flavor too. The bowl is deep so there seemed to be roughly 5 cups of rice. Unfortunately the laksa shrimp fried rice was disappointing in comparison. It didn't have much flavor overall - better than plain rice but definitely needed more seasoning. The menu lists homemade laksa sauce as an ingredient but we didn't taste that, and the dish wasn't spicy at all either despite the 1 chili pepper rating. But it looked just like the menu picture so maybe the description is wrong. Fried chicken with tom yum sauce came with 6 pieces. Very juicy. We also enjoyed the herbal roasted prime steak with sausage rice. The delicious rice had the taste of fish sauce. Most of the short rib slices were soft and a few were slightly chewy but overall decent quality. Some of the fattier pieces of meat were still attached to the bone.

Laksa Shrimp Fried Rice with the homemade laksa sauce, we asked for extra laksa sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for the fried tofu. The service was great throughout the meal.
