Searching for highly rated seafood restaurants in the area, this place comes up. Clearly a local favorite as we arrived at 3:30pm and the place was very busy. We were seated immediately and as we are led to our table, it is very noticeable that the napkins are a roll of paper towels hanging from a clothes hanger over each table. I am a very picky seafood eater so was disappointed that a lot of the dishes were served with crab and ended up with a chefs salad. Very tasty. This was our first time visiting this local favorite spot. Something I noticed right away was the booths were a bit worn and I quickly sunk into the seat. Our waitress was very animated and attentive. We tried the hush puppies which were very bland. For entrees we got a shrimp burger which was tasty but not much shrimp on a big bun. This is a solid seafood place with very reasonable drink prices. My NA Chardonnay was only $4! Our server Chantell was amazing and not just because she complimented how nicely I cleaned off the oysters Rockafelllers! She was very attentive and friendly with our table. And she did very well with our custom orders. The food is decent. I split a swordfish blackened with my husband, and we also had green beans and a side of grilled ahrimp to go with my salad. The shrimp didn't taste as grilled as I was hoping, and was more buttery. But the swordfish was nice and flavorful. I also sampled some of my other guests entrees and they were tasty as well. My favorite was the cedar plank salmon which in hindsight I wish I would have gotten, but I'll know that for next time. I'm gonna start out by telling you that they have extremely good coconut shrimp with a raspberry purée dipping sauce I've had some other things on the menu. I've always been happy. I'm extremely happy when they have the potato skins. Which is only maybe once a week. They are extremely tasty. They need them more than once a week. It's a fun place with lots of nice people coming in. The staff there is absolutely wonderful. They're always laughing and joking with you. They have a very nice early bird special menu. And usually some fun specials. Whenever I'm down in the Largo area. I try to pop in there at least once. I have been told by multiple people the chicken Parmesan. Which is only on the early menu. It's absolutely spectacular. I'm looking forward to a trying it soon. So if you're not in the mood for seafood. Check it out. And let me know. read more

Our server Chantel took great care of us. The food- Overall we went with 4 stars The highlights were the Grilled Grouper was cooked perfectly and the grilled asparagus was nice and crispy not overcooked, the peel and eat shrimp was also very good however I did not taste the bay seasoning that was mentioned. Our entire party are New England transplants so the Lobster rolls are something we are as a rule particular about, we look for light mayo, almost non existent a grilled and buttered roll and a nice serving size. These were very heavy on the mayo,and a pretty small portion size, and it had lettuce and celery...Theroll was grilled nice and the flavor was on point however. Both scallop dishes were drowned in the butter sauce which was excessive and ended up being a detractor to the dish, more isn't always better,both of those agreed it was good enough to return but would try another menu item next visit. We had a good time, the service we received from Chantel was great we will return and I would rate this a "Safe Bet" prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good! read more

Our party of 6 ordered the Shahimi Tuna appetizer with a thinned down wasabi and some mozzarella sticks Our main course consisted of Grouper sandwich, Grouper dinner, Grouper Oscar, Chicken Ceaser wrap, Lobster Bisque and the Captains platter. Roosterfish is more like your neighborhood bar that offers seafood and other American cuisine. It's location is nice on a lakefront. The decor is old however. The menu is a little dated. Friendly wait staff, decent food, which is why I give it a three the ambience a little dated. They do have good happy hour. read more

My husband and I eat here fairly regularly. The food is usually pretty decent. We were there last Friday for an early dinner. My husband ordered the steak and scallops, but the kitchen accidentally gave him shrimp instead of scallops - no big deal. We told our waitress and she asked if she could take his plate back to the kitchen to show the staff their error, we agreed. And this is where it gets a little strange - she brought back the plate minus the shrimp and told us his scallops would be out a few minutes later. They arrived separately, which was fine, mistakes happen. But we wondered what happened to the shrimp. Did they get thrown out or put on someone else's plate? Why would you need to take the plate back to the kitchen to show the staff their error and then bring it back without the shrimp? As an aside I ordered the shrimp and fish dish which wasn't very good, and the accompanying coleslaw was dry and bland. I'd be a little bit hesitant about going back again. read more
