Tried this place today. Pretty tasty.
    Timothy C.

Checked this place out a few weeks back. Buddy of mine used to teach a class at a gym not far from here. Ok, this is my old neighborhood. Until his class, I neverrrr went over here. So when he was teaching his class, I'd drive by this place every week and think...I really wanna try this place. So one morning, after we did a totally different class over there, a friend and I wanted to go eat and I mentioned this place. So finally...after a long time, I made my way into Roosters. Like always, I ordered a waffle. I like to find the best waffles at breakfast places. I'm a super picky eater, so I'm limited lol. Was this the best waffle? Nah. It was good tho. I don't put anything on there except butter. They sure did bring me like 3 or 4 balls of butter..basically frozen lol. Lawdy! When will restaurants learn to stopppp doing that with butter. Yes, I'm fully aware most meals that can have butter on them are served warm. Y'all know how hard it is tho to spread frozen butter on a fn waffle hahaha! Or worse...on pancakes lol. I still liked this place tho. My friend said her sandwich was good. She didn't rave about it or complain about it. So the both of us left satisfied. Would I go again? Sure, why not. I've definitely been to places a million times worse than this...and this place wasn't even bad. There was just something missing. I can't quite put my finger on it. Staff was so friendly. They really were all nice people. The most place itself is large. So unless it's like Saturday or Sunday morning and the place is crazy packed...you won't have a hard time finding a spot to sit. I imagine they do good business every day tho. I hope they do. I'm guessing this is a chain, too? Not sure. It's sure not a local mom and pop type of place. I usually prefer them over chains any day, but as mentioned, I've been wanting to try here. I thought too that it was like brand new. She was like..nah, we've been here for over 2 years. Haha, shows how often I go to that area of town lol. So check it out if you've never been. Definitely a cool little breakfast spot. Prices are pretty decent, too. Thanks for reading, Yelperoosters! Cheers!

No sausage no eggs.. just a tortilla stuffed with undercooked hashbrowns
    Amanda C.

So disappointed. My husband and I I use to come get sausage breakfast burritos ALL the time here a couple years ago and it was our fave place for it. I live farther now and have been dying to get the sausage breakfast burrito again and swung by to get it today.. I bit into and the whole entire burrito was HASHBROWNS. I didn't taste more than 3 little pieces of sausage in my burrito (not exaggerating) there was NO EGGS.. it was all effing hashbrowns! I couldn't believe it. I was beyond disappointed and would have went in to bring it back if I didn't have a dr appt to be at. Kept eating it figuring maybe all the eggs and sausage was in the second half but it was hashbrowns only all the way down to the bottom. This was enough for me to not ever come back. What a rip.

French Dip and Jalapeño Popper sandwiches

This was a mixed bag for me. My sandwich was just so-so (a bit dry). It's possible I just ordered the wrong thing. From a presentation perspective, it poked fine, and the chips were good, but there was nothing that popped out to me as unique or compelling enough to make me revisit. I'll probably try once more just to make sure. The customer service was notable (positive experience).

First visit and it wasn't bad. They have a good size menu. Drinks are pretty much you serve yourself coffee is made you can get up and refill your cup. The food its brought to your table. It made me think more like we where eating at a cafeteria than a restaurant. Food was good. The breakfast burrito was big and it tasted good. French toast was ok. Over all it wasn't bad for our first time there.

Great new location off of Maple Grove and Emerald. Stopped here for coffee and toast, one of my favorite breakfast combos. The restaurant itself it very clean, welcoming spot. Friendly staff and counter service to order. Self serve drinks and coffee...Dawson Taylor! Open for breakfast and lunch. A nice spot for a quick bite.

Ham and cheddar & avocado toast w/ 2 coffee. $20

This place is great..... If you like great drip coffee, it's good Dawson Taylor (if they don't run out, it's happened the two times we've come here). Other than that the food is tiny portioned, with big portion prices. That said, this place has huge potential, food is good, lobby is mostly nice but is missing something to make it pop. Weird thing is there's a sign that ask you to bring your dishes and utensils to a tub. Some music would be nice to.

    $8 oatmeal...

I ordered 2 eggs, and oatmeal. The oatmeal was $8 and some change... it is hospital quality food. I'm upset I paid that much for awful oatmeal. I was in a bind though, couldn't eat at home I was on the go. $8 for oatmeal? What? For what? I appreciate higher end prices for a quality meal but this was bad. I'm actually upset about it. Yes I wanted to go home to make myself oatmeal but I couldn't. This was door dash but this is not door dashes mistake- the restaurant just serves bad quality oatmeal and up-charges for no reason.

    The Bomb with homemade chips.

The decor features beautiful artificial greenery that gives the space a light, vibrant, and welcoming feel. My server, Brayden, was fantastic--friendly, prompt, and attentive. I started with the Southern Hospitality mimosa (peach & pineapple with "Blue Ridge Bubbly"), which was incredible. For my meal, I chose the $10.99 Lunch Break Special, upgrading my side to the chicken poblano soup alongside the half honey pecan chicken salad sandwich. While I was looking at the bar, a gentleman named Scott asked how I was enjoying my food. I told him I hadn't tried it yet, but that the mimosa was rocking! The soup was delicious with great flavoring, and the biscuits paired perfectly with their tasty jam. The chicken salad also tasted great, but unfortunately, I bit into a sharp chicken bone that hurt my mouth. Because of this, I stopped eating the sandwich. When Brayden checked back in, I let him know I couldn't finish it due to the bone. He handled it perfectly, promptly took the sandwich away, and removed the charge from my bill. He also brought out some bread for my soup as requested. I finished my meal with a salted caramel craft iced latte, which was absolutely delicious. Minor food mishap aside, the outstanding customer service from both Brayden and Scott will definitely bring me back!

We did have to have a small wait. I love the fact that they were busy! Nothing makes me happier than seeing a local business thrive! It was a little over 10 minutes of wait time. No problem, we chilled in the car till we got our text to come in. We were sat, got coffee and juice ordered and checked out the menu. We were both hungry so everything looked good. My husband decided on a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of biscuits and gravy. I got the Big boy omelet with Moe Joe's potatoes. Our server, I believe her name is Kendra, was super sweet! I have served her before when she came in and ate my at family's restaurant. She was fabulous as a guest and fabulous at taking care of us today. I had requested a fresh cup of half and half that wasn't used my multiple guests. I'm still bring careful with my new kidney. With no hesitation, she gladly gave me a fresh cup of half and for my coffee. I appreciate her kindness so much. Food came out and booooyyyyy did everything look amazing! My husband's pancakes were fluffy and had plenty of chocolate chips. The biscuits were covered with gravy. My omelet was massive and was also covered in gravy. I was ready to tear into them potatoes! They were nice and charry. I know this meal is about to hit! I don't think I said a word to my husband for 15 minutes. The food was so good! Nothing important needed to be talked about when the food was doing the talking for us. My omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions and all the 3 meats that came with it. I love love love the gravy on top! The potatoes were crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle. The potatoes with gravy is top tier! Of course I tried my husband's pancakes.... so fluffy and sweet. The biscuits weren't crazy dense. I love that they were airy. I really had to hold back on the pancakes, I still had a whole omelet to work on. But them pancakes were the business! It's sad that this joint is clear across town. I would eat here every week if I could. Everything we had today was so good! Everything I had last time was good! The service is fantastic. I adore Memory and Peyton. Now I get to add Kendra to my list! One of the best breakfast joints in town, hands down! I'm so happy I got to start my birthday week at Moe Joe's! I look forward to coming back very soon.

We had a different server than our usual this time and she was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out. I took away a star because the food wasn't as great as the last few times I visited. The eggs were overcooked (kind of dry and almost rubbery) and the hash browns were under cooked in the center. Now, if you've read my previous review, youd know how much i absolutely LOVE their pancakes - and I've made it my go-to spot for breakfast because of it. Well, either they changed the recipe or someone messed up this batch. It was nice and fluffy, but bland. That signature deliciously buttery flavor was nowhere to be found. I kept taking bites hoping my tongue was deceiving me... but there were no lies. Just disappointment. This is definitely a deal breaker. Maybe I'll try one more time. If it was just a one-time fluke, I'll update this review and stars. :::sigh:::

It has a nice ambience. Inside are a combination of booths, half booths, low and bar height tables, dark wood, with a nice semi-circular bar with a nice, semi-circular metal decoration that was filled with artificial plants, wine bottles, and small kegs. There was a wine rack accent wall on the right. It is located in downtown Boise at the corner of Idaho and 8th St along restaurant row. Our server was Matthew B, and while he was a nice guy, he did not provide good service. It took him a while to get to our table, then after we ordered drinks, it took too long to get them. We then ordered appetizers but he didn't take our dinner orders. We waited too long for the appetizers, and then we ordered our dinners, which also took a while to come out. Runners brought our food out, not Matthew. He did not to refill the women's sodas, we had to ask. He did bring another glass of wine to one of the men, but that was because he was signaled. He did not ask the other people that ordered beer and cocktails if they wanted another. We never had our water glasses refilled. We told him about the birthday celebration, and all he said was, if we ordered dessert, he would put a candle on it. What? Most places serve a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration. He also took too long to bring us our checks. We're all good tippers. We gave him 15%; he didn't deserve it. The food was OK, not spectacular, but overpriced. As far as the apetizers, the asparagus fries were not that flavorful, though nicely crusted. The cauliflower was just OK, likewise the chicken wings. I did like the honey and balsamic grilled brussel sprouts. Speaking for my wife and I, she liked the BAM Sammy. The side salad was average. I ordered the Urban Burger. While the patty was cooked well, it was small. I can get a bigger, better burger that costs less at any number of restaurants we frequent, including a few near us (we live in Star). I did like the fries. Crispy, with I believe Parmesan cheese coating them. My friend said his smoked salmon salad was just OK. We found it very loud, and difficult to hear each other in conversation. Needless to say, we have no plans to return to Fork.

I came here for a late lunch around 2 pm after arriving in Boise. They weren't crowded at this point but business wasn't dead either. My waitress was very friendly. Inside has a lived-in, intimate feel, but it was pretty dark, so much that I wasn't sure they were actually open as I was opening the door. I had the French dip sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was delicious and tasted homemade in the best way. The "meat" of the sandwich was seitan. I don't THINK it was a perfect meat replica (but I've never had a real French dip), but it was very flavourful. I loved the flavour and the thick cut of their bread, but it didn't have much structure and fell apart easily as I was eating which made the sandwich very messy. The tomato basil soup was a little different. It was slightly creamy but brothy and a little chunky - not a smooth puree. Again, it tasted great and was nice and light, which was a good contrast to the very rich sandwich. It was a little slow, especially considering they weren't that busy. I didn't really mind since I wasn't on a schedule, but this is something to be aware of - don't come here for a quick meal. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality.

But lucky for me, my husband and I were in the area so of course we had to make our way in for brunch. We showed up 45 minutes til close. There was about a 25 to 30 minute wait. We decided to tough it out and kick it. I did ask if we would still get served since we will be sat towards closing. They said yes so we waited. There would be a wait anywhere else so why leave. I just found it so kind that they would be willing to still take us with the restaurant closing soon. It was busy which makes me so happy. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a local business thrive. While hanging out, I was admiring the fun antiques that were decorated all over the restaurant. Talk about history and charm to this joint. Vintage cans, old cooking utensils, old school packages of Spam. There's so much history in this little venue. It's truly incredible to look at and appreciate. We were finally sat 20 minutes til closing. We got some coffee and apple juice started while we checked out the menu. After drinks were dropped off, we quickly ordered our food. My husband got chicken fried steak and I got the works omelet without the sausage. I believe they replaced it with extra ham. Food came out rather fast since we were the tail end of the day. And boy did everything look so good! My omelet looked massive. I was starving so I was so happy that it was big! The omelet was stuffed with green peppers, onions, ham, bacon and cheese. I also got a hearty side of hashbrowns. My husband got his country gravy that came with his country fried steak on the side for me. I was able to add it to my hashbrowns and omelet. Country gravy and hashbrowns is a top tier combination. And today's gravy and potatoes was money! My omelet was perfection. The onions and green peppers were nicely sautéed. There was a great amount of ham and bacon. The eggs were nicely cooked! Cheese that was in the middle was nice and melty. I ate the whole thing! Did I regret it later, yes but it was worth it! I finished half of my hashbrowns. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, these hashbrowns were fantastic! And the country gravy made them that much tastier. My husband enjoyed his breakfast. I most definitely enjoyed mine. Service was fabulous. Coffee was hot and always filled. Today's visit was truly fantastic. I heard that this joint is moving to Orchard. I look forward to coming and checking out the new venue. I know I won't be waiting another 20 years to come back. The food and the service was too good not to come back soon. I look forward to another omelet and one of their huge ass cinnamon rolls!
